April is National Financial Literacy Month.
What is financial literacy? It's having the ability, knowledge, and skills to manage one's money-related matters from planning and budgeting to understanding how loans and credit work. It's being able to make the best decisions with the financial resources you have for you, your family, your lifestyle, and your future.

Leech Lake Tribal College Student Services will offer a short financial literacy workshop on Thursday, April 26, from 12-1 p.m. in Mitigominzh Wigamig's Mikinaak PC Lab 111. A light lunch will be provided, and you can learn how to create a spending plan for your financial aid that will help you know where your money is going while also being able to prioritize your expenses. You can also learn about which financial pitfalls to avoid and tips for making your money grow and go farther so that you can take better care of you and your family.
