Hi, I’m Kat, the founder of Gracious Minds. I’m also a wife and a proud mother to my son, Sebastian, who’s nearly 10 (which still amazes me every day!). I have a deep love for yoga, animals, and exploring the richness of spirituality and religion. These practices keep me grounded and curious.

The initial vision for Gracious Minds really came from a place of self-discovery — from learning to slow down and understand what it truly means to live in the present moment. In my 20s, I felt incredibly lost and disconnected from myself. I was working long hours, fully immersed in the "girl boss" culture at the time, believing that success was what defined me. I used alcohol as a way to cope and “switch off” at night, but it wasn’t sustainable — I was getting really sick and found myself in and out of hospital.

Turning 30 felt like a light switch moment. I knew something had to change. I started practicing yoga, and began taking proper care of my skin, and gradually, my whole lifestyle shifted. My friendship circle evolved, too — many of the people who came into my life were from the Baháʼí community. While I’m not a Baháʼí myself, I have so much love and respect for the people and their values. That period marked a huge turning point for me — it’s where the roots of Gracious Minds really began to grow.

My mornings always begin with antioxidants — both inside and out. I start with a Kakadu plum powder drink, and I use Kakadu plum in my skincare routine too, layering both Plum Royale and Alpha Berry serums. I really believe in the power of antioxidants to support the skin, mind, and body from the inside out — they’re an essential part of setting myself up for the day. I also practice morning pages, a form of subconscious journaling from The Artist’s Way — it’s a beautiful tool that supports creativity and clarity, and it’s become a spiritual ritual for me. Most mornings I’ll also go to the gym, which helps me feel grounded and energised.

Pairing this with the 4-7-8 breathing technique — inhaling for 4 seconds, holding for 7, and exhaling for 8 — can be incredibly grounding. It’s a simple, beautiful way to reset your nervous system and create a moment of full-body relaxation.
