KIM SEJEONG recently starred in Moon River, a historical fantasy romance drama, which premiered on November 7, 2025. She will also be setting off on a fan concert tour, 2026 KIM SEJEONG FAN CONCERT <Tenth Letter>, starting on January 10th, 2026, in Seoul.

On September 9th, it has been revealed that girl group, EVERGLOW, has signed an exclusive contract with CHXXTA COMPANY. The members include E:U, SIHYEON, ONDA, and AISHA. The group is preparing new music and a fan meeting tour.

EVERGLOW originally made their debut in March 2019.

ALL(H)OURS is a boy group under EDEN Entertainment. Members include Kunho, Youmin, Xayden, Minje, Masami, Hyunbin, and ON:N.

On May 29, CJ ENM announced that the 2025 MAMA AWARDS will celebrate its 30th anniversary in Hong Kong. Presented by Visa, the 2025 MAMA AWARDS will take place for 2 days on November 28 at the Kai Tak Stadium, Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong. This will be the first time the show returns to Hong Kong since 2018, where it was previously hosted for seven consecutive years. The 2024 MAMA AWARDS took place between Los Angeles and Japan.

On May 19th, tickets for KCON LA 2025 will be on sale at 4PM PST. Tickets are available via AXS.

CJ ENM has announced this year’s dates for the return of KCON to Japan and the United States.

First off, KCON JAPAN 2025 will take place in Japan’s Chiba prefecture from May 9-11. Later in the year, KCON LA 2025 will be scheduled from August. Venue, artists, and ticket information will be announced at a later date.

KCON is the world’s number 1 K-culture festival. The event has grown vastly since its debut in 2012, garnering an attendance of 1.99 million across 14 regions.

CJ ENM has announced the hosts for the M COUNTDOWN stage at KCON LA 2024. Kim Soo Hyun, Jeon Somi, and Rowoon will each host their own days for the show at Crypto.com Arena.

Rowoon, member of K-pop boy band SF9 and actor, will host on Friday, July 26. Jeon Somi, solo K-pop idol, will take over for day 2. For the final day, ‘Queen of Tears’ actor Kim Soo Hyun, will cap things off as host of day 3.

Lastly, KCON will be introducing a new series called “Hi My First”. These stages will showcase performances of Artist’s earlier songs. This gives KCONers their first chance at seeing these performances live. The featuring artists include ATEEZ on Saturday (Day 2) and Stray Kids on Sunday (Day 3).

STAYC most recently announced that their third mini album of the same name will be available on August 8th, later this year.

On June 29th, Choi Yena’s latest music video, “Hate Rodrigo” was reported as being switched to private on Youtube. It has been reported that this was at the request of Olivia Rodrigo’s representation.

The title itself drew attention, but it is believed that the request was made due to copyright issues. The music video contains images of Olivia Rodrigo and lyrics includes some of her song titles.

The song itself is about Yena’s admiration of Rodrigo, to the point of hatred from not admitting it. The references of Rodrigo have drawn negative reception from her fans.

The music video was released along with Yena’s second single album, “HATE XX” on June 27th. The song features (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi.

Early on June 21, Modhaus released an official statement of former LOONA member Haseul’s signing with the company. She will also be joining fellow members, Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry, in the ARTMS project.

FIFTY FIFTY will be releasing a new track on the upcoming Barbie Movie soundtrack.

Earlier today, Atlantic Records announced Barbie The Album, featuring a star-studded lineup of artists including Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice, Lizzo, KAROL G, Charli XCX, PinkPantheress, Ava Max, Dominic Fike, Khalid, The Kid LAROI, Tame Impala, HAIM, GAYLE and FIFTY FIFTY feat. Kali. The soundtrack is executive produced by award winning artist and producer Mark Ronson.

After their astronomical rise to fame with their song, “Cupid,” FIFTY FIFTY will be releasing a new song called “Barbie Dreams” on the soundtrack.

Barbie The Album will release alongside the highly anticipated film inspired by Barbie on July 21st, later this year.

Fresh off the heels of their chart rising single “Cupid”, the K-Pop girl group FIFTY FIFTY has signed a partnership with Warner Records US to help further showcase themselves on an international level.

It's no surprise why this is the perfect time for the group to make a push outside of Korea. FIFTY FIFTY’s latest title track “Cupid” debuted on the Billboard top 100, and has risen ever since. It currently sits at its peak position at 50. “Cupid” is the top K-Pop track on the Billboard list, even sitting above powerhouse BTS member Jimin’s single “Like Crazy.” FIFTY FIFTY has also risen in Spotify rankings, and has released a “Twin Version” of “Cupid”, which is an all-English performance to appeal to a wider audience.

FIFTY FIFTY is a 4-member girl group consisting of Saena, Aran, Keena, and Sio. The group is under the ATTRAKT Creative Content Group.

On April 28th, IST Entertainment announced that Apink’s Park Chorong, Yoon Bomi, Kim Namjoo, and Oh Hayoung will be leaving the agency after contract expiration. The remaining member, Jung Eunji, has decided to renew her contract with the company. The group has been with the agency for 12 years.

Although they will be parting ways with the company, they have assured fans that Apink will continue group activities.

We sincerely thank all the fans who care for and support Apink.

We are making an official announcement regarding Apink’s future activities.

Ahead of the end of Apink’s exclusive contracts with our agency, we and the members put our heads together and carefully discussed the matter. It was ultimately determined that for the sake of each member’s new growth in the future, Park Chorong, Yoon Bomi, Kim Namjoo, and Oh Hayoung will end their beautiful 12-year journey with us, which began with their debut, at the end of April.

We recently renewed our contract with Jung Eun Ji, and we will be continuing our relationship. In addition to her activities as a singer, Jung Eun Ji also plans to greet you soon with a new acting project, and we plan to consistently support her so that she can stand out in a wide array of fields.

Regardless of their contracts, all of the Apink members are firm in their love of the group and their determination to continue their group activities, so they have promised to carry on with their group activities without disbandment. Previously, Son Naeun signed with a new agency in 2021, choosing to continue as a member of the group. In 2022, she announced her departure from the group.

Warning: Possible suicide mentioned

On the evening of April 19th, police reported that ASTRO’s Moonbin was found dead in his Gangnam residence by his manager. He was 25.

At the time, police stated, “It appears that Moonbin took his own life. We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.”

The following morning, ASTRO’s agency, Fantagio, confirmed Moonbin’s passing and released an official statement:

“This is Fantagio.

First, we apologize for having to convey this sorrowful and heartbreaking news.

On April 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and has now become a star in the sky.

Although it cannot compare to the grief of the bereaved family that had to part with their beloved son and brother, his fellow artists and the staff here at Fantagio, who have been together with him for a long time, are also deeply mourning the departed amidst tremendous shock and sorrow.

It pains us even more to have to convey this sudden news to the fans who have given their unsparing love and support to Moonbin. Because we know all too well just how unparalleled the departed [Moonbin] was in his love for his fans, whom he was constantly thinking of, the grief is all the more overwhelming.

In order for the bereaved family, who has fallen into great sorrow due to this sudden tragedy, to be able to respectfully mourn the departed and say their goodbyes, we entreat you to please refrain from speculative or malicious reports.

In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family, the funeral will be held as quietly as possible, with family, close friends, and agency colleagues in attendance.

Once again, we express our deep mourning as the departed walks his final path.”

After nine of the members of LOONA was reported to have filed injunctions to suspend their contracts with Blockberrycreative, only Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry were determined to have won their lawsuits.

As of March 15th, ATTRAKT girl group, FIFTY FIFTY, has become the biggest gainer on Spotify’s Global Chart. With over 1.2 million streams, their song, “CUPID - Twin Version”, elevated 47 spots to a new peak of #144. Their single album, The Beginning: Cupid entered the Billboard World Digital Song Sales at #8. The album was released on February 23, 2023.

On March 3rd, Starship Entertainment announced in a fancafe post an update on WJSN (Cosmic Girls) member’s contracts. They revealed that Exy, Seolah, Bona, Subin, Eunseo, Yeoreum, Dayoung, and Yeonjeong have renewed their contracts with the agency. They go on to announce Luda, Dawon, Cheng Xiao, Xuanyi, and Meiqi’s automatic contract termination. The group will proceed with 8 members.

First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude once again to the domestic and international friends who continue to support and love WJSN.

Starship Entertainment recently re-signed contracts with 8 members of its artist, Cosmic Girls, Exy, Seol-A, Bona, Subin, Eun-Seo, Yeoreum, Da-Young, and Yeon-Jung.

The company and members Luda and Dawon have been honest and in-depth discussions for a long time, but unfortunately, the exclusive contract has come to an end. I would like to express my deep gratitude to Luda and Dawon for their hard work and dedication. We respect the choices of Luda and Dawon, and we will support and support them in their new activities and the way forward. In addition, we would like to inform you that the three members of Yuehua Entertainment, Goodwill, Cheng Xiao, and Miqi, who worked with Cosmic Girls, will automatically terminate their contracts as Cosmic Girls.

WJSN debuted with 12 members in 2016. Yeonjung later joined the group after I.O.I promotions. The group’s latest release was “Last Sequence” from the single album, “Sequence.”

On December 8th, 2022, Nmixx’s Agency, JYP Entertainment, announced that Jinni (real name Choi Yunjin), will be leaving the group and terminating her exclusive contract.

The group will continue as 6 members, consisting of Haewon, Lily, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin.

The company released the following statement [Via Naver]:

“Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

Jinni, who has been with NMIXX for a while, has to leave the team and terminate her exclusive contract due to her personal circumstances.

We apologize for causing concern to many fans with the sudden news.

As a result, we inform you that future schedules related to NMIXX will continue with a 6-member system.

We ask for lots of encouragement for Jinni as she embarks on her new path, and we ask for warm support from NSWER members (Nmixx’s Fans) for the 6 members who will walk towards their dream.

The group’s most recent release was Dice from the mini-album Entwurf.

On November 25th, 2022, Loona’s Agency, BlockBerry Creative, announced that they have removed Chuu (real name Kim Jiwoo) from the group.

The company released the following statement [Via Naver]:

"There have been many stories related to Chuu this year, but the company and the members have not revealed their position because they are concerned about the development of the team and the fans' concerns.

"However, recently there have been reports of abuse of power, such as Chuu's abusive language towards our staff. After investigation, the truth has been clarified, and the company representative is apologizing and comforting the staff, and the company has decided to take responsibility and remove Chuu from LOONA.

We officially apologize to the staff who were greatly hurt by this incident.

We apologize from the bottom of our hearts for the fans who have loved and supported Loona and for not being able to keep the 12 members together until the end.”

Previously, it has been rumored that Chuu has formed her own agency. This has not yet been confirmed nor denied. Loona’s most recent release was Flip That, released from the mini album of the same name.

Discerning fans would be able to recognize clips that were in the 2nd lineup teasers. The video clips were very blurred out, and had a reduced frame rate to make it extra difficult. But fans would eventually point out clips from videos and stage performances.

This year marks the convention's first time in three years to return to the city due to the pandemic. It will be held at the LA Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena from August 19 to 21, later this year.

Playstation’s studio located in the Pacific Northwest mentions they are working on a new IP in a recent article from Playstation Blogpost. Bend Studio is most notable as the studio that brought us Syphon Filter in the early 2000s, and then later pivoting to the PSP and Vita, where the handheld Uncharted: Golden Abyss made its appearance. Most recently, the studio brought us Days Gone in 2019, for the Playstation 4. And speaking of, in the posted article, Bend Studio mentions they are currently working on “a new IP that includes multiplayer and builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone, but brings you a whole new world that we are extremely excited to craft for you.”

It’s exciting to think about what the first party studio could be cooking up. Sony doesn’t have a true first party game as a service, which would fit perfectly under the description given. Whatever they are planning, it sounds like a good time with friends potentially building forts and defending against zombies. I’m not holding my breath though, as their last release in Days Gone had come out seven years after their previous title Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, released for the Playstation Vita. Hopefully we don’t have that long for this new title.

Oh and of course, Bend revealed their spiffy new logo.

The Persona games are known for their traditional, turn-based RPG style of battling, mixed with running through a sort of high school life simulator. The story mainly centers around a cast of teenage high school misfits who need to band together to defeat supernatural forces that are affecting the world around them, all while trying to ace their final exams and romance each other.

This Japanese RPG franchise is highly beloved by many and with each iteration of the games, the quality has only gone up. The specific versioned Persona games that are coming to the Xbox ecosystem are Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal. Both Golden and Royal are enhanced versions of their respective games. While Persona 3 Portable is somewhat an enhanced version of its base game, there is also another version not to be confused with P3P, titled Person 3 FES, which had been released on the Playstation 2, with additional content exclusive to itself.

Over the years, gamers on other platforms had only been exposed to Persona spinoff games, such as Persona Q for the 3DS, the highly rated fighting game Persona 4 Arena which released for both Nintendo and Microsoft platforms, and most recently Persona 5 Strikers, which had released for the Nintendo Switch in 2021. There is no word on whether or not Nintendo will also be providing a way to purchase the main Persona games, but this news certainly opens the door to the possibility much more than before. No word yet on whether or not these games will be present on the new Playstation Plus Premium Service, which is set to be Sony’s response to Xbox’s Game Pass.

On June 1st, IST Entertainment officially announced that Jiyoon would depart from Weeekly amid health concerns. Jiyoon notably took breaks during Holiday Party and Ven Para activities due to symptoms of anxiety. The group will move forward as a six-member group.

After experiencing symptoms of anxiety during promotions, Shin Jiyoon of Weeekly took two breaks last summer and this spring to focus wholly on her treatment and recovery.

With the artist’s health as our top priority, Jiyoon herself, her family, medical experts, and IST Entertainment had been cautiously discussing whether she was ready to resume her activities. However, we have reached the decision that Jiyoon needs to be in an environment where she can focus on her mental health above all else and that she should continue to focus on receiving treatment.

Thus, as of June 1, 2022,
Jiyoon will officially be concluding her activities as a member of Weeekly, and Weeekly will continue their journey as a six-member group.

Weeekly most recently came back with their first single album, Play Game: Awake. We wish Jiyoon all the best in her future endeavors and a smooth recovery.

On May 9th, WM Entertainment released an official statement, announcing Jiho’s departure from the company and Oh My Girl. After several discussions, Jiho has decided to not renew her contract after seven years with the company. The other members: Hyojung, Mimi, YooA. Seunghee, Yoobin, and Arin have all decided to renew and continue as six members.

Shortly after the announcement, Jiho posted a handwritten letter to the group’s fan cafe (Via Soompi):

Hello Miracle [Oh My Girl’s fan club], this is Jiho.

I’m writing this letter as there’s news I have to share with Miracle. I spoke numerous times with our agency about the future and we concluded that moving forward, we would support each other’s paths. In the future, I will be supporting Oh My Girl’s promotions as a member of Miracle and not as a member of Oh My Girl.

Over the past seven years, the many conversations we’ve shared, the moments we met every Monday, the love that Miracle gave us, and your support are all truly things that I will never forget.

I really want to say thank you to Miracle for creating such miracle-like moments in my life. Thanks to you all, I was able to grow and be happy for the past seven years. I hope that happiness was also conveyed to Miracle.

Even though I was poor at expressing myself, whenever I did express myself, I learned so much from Miracle who showed me even more love. As much as I’ve learned from Miracle, I will also become a cool Miracle.

From Jiho

Oh My Girl most recently released their second studio album, Real Love, with the title track of the same name in March. The group also celebrated their 7th anniversary in April. We wish Jiho all the best in all of her future endeavors!

In a joint production, LA Comic-Con and PCB Entertainment, Inc. are putting together the Actors Voice Experience (AVOX) in Pasadena, CA on July 2nd through the 3rd. Located inside the Pasadena Convention Center, super fans of anime, video games, and animation can meet, greet, and interact with the actors that lend their voices to everyone’s favorite franchises. Over 125 voice actors will be in attendance partaking in interactive panels, both in-person and virtually. Live performances, shopping, and interactive workshops will be held during the two-day event as well.

If you are a gamer who has a light interest in anime, then Red is for you. If you love anime, choose Blue. If multiplayer gaming and kawaii animation is more your thing, pick Yellow. And finally, pick Green if anime adaptations and fantasy gaming up your alley. If you can’t make up your mind, don’t worry. A 10-day exchange window will open in June if you decide to switch.

Earlier today, Son Naeun officially announced her departure from girl group Apink, after 11 years. Naeun uploaded a handwritten letter to Instagram as a formal goodbye to fans, members, and staff. Last year, Naeun was the only member to not renew her contract. Instead, she decided to sign with YG Entertainment, but would continue to promote with Apink, if available. Naeun participated in the most recent comeback, but was unable to promote with the rest of the group, due to scheduling conflicts. IST Entertainment went on to announce that the group will continue to promote as a group of 5 as of April 19th, the group’s anniversary.

Hello, this is Son Naeun.

I worried a lot about how I should say this, and even now, as I write these words, I’m very nervous.

I will be leaving Apink, with whom I have been together for the past 11 years.

Because Apink is a place like family, with whom I have spent a long time together, I made this difficult decision after a lot of debate, and though it wasn’t an easy decision, I plan to become a Panda [Apink fan] and cheer on Apink starting from now on.

The members… Chorong, Bomi, Eunji, Namjoo, Hayoung… the many people who have worked hard for Apink from the start, including the IST staff, and the fans, who are the most precious of all: as I look back on the times we’ve spent together until now and our memories, there is no way to express all of my feelings through words, but…

I want to sincerely thank from the bottom of my heart everyone who made my teens and twenties the most radiant, who gifted me this happy time.

I will engrave the name “Apink’s Son Naeun” in my heart, and I think showing you better things in the future, so that I don’t bring shame to that name, is one way I can repay you.

Mnet hosted their live season finale of their latest survival show, Girls Planet 999 on October 22, 2021. Along with performances and reality segments, the show revealed the group’s name, Kep1er. The show explains that it means: They’ve kept their dream alive and they’ll unite as one and become the best.

Early Monday morning, Pledis Entertainment has announced that they will manage Fromis_9 from this point forward. They announced that Fromis_9’s previous agency, Off the Record, will be integrated after discussions. They had this to say on the process:

“In the process of label integration of Fromis Nine’s existing agency, Off the Record Entertainment, Fromis Nine, Off the Record, and Pledis Entertainment discussed the artist’s future direction and growth potential after in-depth discussions, and then moved to Fromis Nine’s agency. Decided,”

Fromis_9 was formed through the 2017 survival show, Idol School. The group’s most recent release was the single album, “9 Way Ticket”, which features the title track, “We Go.”

Earlier today, Cube Entertainment has announced that Soojin will be leaving (G)i-dle, following bullying allegations in school. She has been on hiatus since allegations were made in February, earlier this year. Cube Entertainment has announced that (G)i-dle will continue forward with 5 members in the following statement:

"In the future, (G)I-DLE plans to continue their activities as a five-member system, and we will do our best to support (G)I-DLE with our best efforts so that they can show more mature music and performances."

When the pandemic led to the closing of theme parks and the dissolvement of the Disneyland Annual Passes. With the park now open, Disney has announced their new annual program, Magic Key. Starting at $399, these passes increase in cost according to residence, how many reservations are allowed at a time, blackout days, discounts, and parking inclusion. A thing to note is that all 4 options are based on reservations at this time. The program is set to start on August 25, later this month.

In the midst of a California Lawsuit against Activision Blizzard, J. Allen Brack has decided to step down from his position as president of Blizzard, the company announced early Tuesday. They further announced that Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will co-lead as a result. The lawsuit alleged sexist treatment within the company. Brack has been president since 2018.

Steam is extending its peripheral line with an entry into the portable console market with the Steam Deck. Owners will be able to log into their Steam accounts and access their libraries on the handheld. The device has a 7” screen, dual joysticks, dual track pads, and 8 triggers to name a few hardware features. Games can either be downloaded directly to the device, or streamed via remote play from your computer. There will be 3 different models, starting at $399, only differing in storage size. They are expected to start shipping Holiday 2021.
