Loc Rants... A Lot

Palm Springs

2015-08-10T16:34:00.003-07:00

Just came back from Palm Springs and got looped into a time share meeting that was hilarious. The presentation was insane and hilarious. The salesman that stuck to us was this old man from Tennessee and I swear he was drunk. Think used car salesman/someone that is desperate and is willing to try to destroy a family's vacation by being a stink face after you say No at least 10 times. Other than that, had an amazing time. The End.

It's been awhile

2014-10-13T15:42:00.000-07:00

I really have to start this thing back up but I find myself just running out of time all the time.

Quick updates:

I had a kid, his name is Max and he is absolutely amazing
I miss nature so much I'm thinking about going to Joshua Tree with our 3 month old in tow. Ok, maybe I'll wait a few more months.
My work has given me the option to take a full year off of work (to take, or not to take is the question)
Our house feels like home and I love it. Even though it's still a little ghetto, I have faith our neighborhood will become the next Highland Park
I adore my husband and am so proud of him. One more year and he will become a MASTER of systems engineering. He's so smart it's ridiculous. Couldn't be more obsessed with him.

Lots of Change!

2013-12-09T11:29:00.002-08:00

We're in the process of buying a house. Besides wiping out all of our savings, I'm really not that worried... I mean this is what America is all about right? Work hard, play hard, meet a dude from Fresno, fall in love, get married, buy a house... have babies. pay taxes, pay bills, travel, have more fun.

This sounds about right to me and I love it.

LA I'm coming home, I'm coming home.

2013-10-04T15:53:00.000-07:00

It's almost October 27th which marks my one year anniversary! This year has been a good one...

new job... japan trip... mike back in school...

there have been minor bumps in the road but i'd say it's been an overall success! I don't get to see him much these days because we're both so busy but the moments we do have, i don't take for granted. i've said this before, but i LOVE love. and he brings me so much happiness it's unreal.

I'm a lucky one. Also, we're close to getting that queen size bed and that is a pretty big deal.

Here's to more October 27ths!!!!

Sober 6 months

This picture will always be imprinted in my head. You, Nhan, and Q just chillin out.

Methamphetamine

2012-07-11T09:37:00.001-07:00

A study performed on female Japanese prison inmates suffering from methamphetamine addiction showed 20% experienced a psychosis resembling schizophrenia which persisted for longer than six months post-methamphetamine use; this amphetamine psychosis can be resistant to traditional treatment.^[8]

^{i got that from Wiki. WHAT? They did a study on female Japanese prison inmates? BEJEESHES!}

Insane!

2012-07-10T09:52:00.001-07:00

this just happened. "Call around to find a replacement." Ok, seriously? I would NOT recommend anyone I know to do what I did. It was insane and to work with....

My friend reminded me with this.... "wait, is this the same person that regifted?"

Someday, when I write a comedy sketch about this, it'll be all fun and games, but for now, no mas.

She also asked if I could be on-call when I leave. ok, WHAT?

I can't wait for 6 more days until FREEDOM!

Here I come EA!

2012-07-06T09:48:00.002-07:00

I got the job at EA! WOO HOO! I love how they're supporting equal rights with this new logo they placed on their website a few weeks back.

Anyhow, my prayers were answered and I got the gig!

I will now be that jerk that puts games onto your console/online/social/mobile games. You see that Toyota in NEED FOR SPEED? Yup, that's my doing.

I'm going into the digital world and I cannot be more ecstatic. I've been dying for some change... to learn new things.. go where technology is taking us.

Advertising has changed so much... for the best.

I want to be innovative. I want to be a creator. I want to be better.

Looking forward to my SF trip to headquarters in a few weeks.

Things do work out for the best doesn't it?

New prospect. big, big, big gaming company. #1 in fact.

So far, 3 phone interviews, 1 in-person and another in-person next week.

Is this a knock out or am I knocking myself out?

Who knows?!?!

All I know is, 6 min commute, more $, more things to learn, hot people around me, gym on campus, basketball court on campus, peets on campus, and cafe.

My Kind of Movies!

2012-06-08T08:54:00.001-07:00

HELLO WORLD

2012-06-06T14:09:00.002-07:00

Best movie of all time. THE ROOM. Best scene of all time. Updates in life

Dinner parties are going strong. It's a good way for my friends to come together and catch up in life. It's good to know that people are traveling, enjoying their lives, and finding great significant others. In the end, you want your friends to be taken care of too! I've been trying to get off of party mode but that's a broken record. As payback, I decided to kick myself in the ass by running 2 miles as fast as i could. Almost had a heart attack, but hey, it felt great. Tonight, I'm aiming for 3 miles! I ate so much for lunch today. 2 Banh Its (im sure thats not how you spell it) but its a sticky rice ball thing with shrimp and pork inside. so good. i had 2 drumsticks of lemongrass chicken. 1 small bowl of som (a lau cucumber salad). Everything was amazing and I have no regrets.. if i finish the 3 miles! Besides all of that, I have the major travel bug! A deal came out for Peru for only $240 but Mike and I would only be able to go in November for Thanksgiving.. that wasn't going to fly. He has Germany, then we have Hawaii.. then Peru? Bleh. We decided to hold off until next year so that we can do the 4 day hiking trip up to Manchu Picchu instead. Travel goals for 2013 Moab-Arches National Park, Narrows revisited Manchu Picchu- hike 4 days with a sherpa camping- Cerro alto revisited, big bear cabin trip snowboarding- tahoe!!!! new orleans- For my bday! That's basically it... not that crazy right? 2014 Koh Samui, Krabi Island Japan-revisited for mike Brazil Greek Islands Amsterdam, Paris (revisit), London

Oh Flavia

2012-05-31T08:53:00.001-07:00

The one day I decide to drink a coffee, the Flavia machine went crazy on me. Shooting out hot water, rejecting my espresso roast packet. A lady on the floor comes in and literally shouts out a BIG F BOMB because her coffee will now, too, be a disgrace to the Coffee Beans/ahole/Starbucks of the world. Wow people, don't have a cow. Cut it out. We get this coffee FO FREE. it's free. like completely free. AND we get paid. AND we get paid to do a whole lot of whatever the heck we want. AND we get benefits. People need to simmer it down and stop taking things for granted. This Flavia gave me laughter at least. it was awesome.
