In Umbria a Icciano è nata la Locanda del Tempo

Icciano – La Tenuta del Tempo, un’Azienda Agricola giovane, piccola e … presuntuosa. Con tanta voglia di crescere ma.. senza fretta.

E ha voglia di aprirsi alla gente!

Per questo nasce La Locanda del Tempo.

Per offrire ai suoi ospiti la possibilità di condividere le emozioni vere e profonde che può e sa dare una campagna autentica, semplice, quasi povera ma al tempo stesso ricca di mistero, antica, ai confini di un bosco che, nelle dimensioni moderne, è foresta sconfinata (guarda la mappa satellitare). Emozioni che, dopo 25 anni di lavoro dipendente in città, sto scoprendo, ora, io stesso. Ho amato il mio lavoro in banca, dal quale ho tratto grandi soddisfazioni; ma ho sempre saputo che l’avrei lasciato.

Ho amato le diverse città dove ho vissuto, ultima, Roma; ma c’è un tempo per ogni cosa.

Nonno Enrico mi diceva: Guido, il tempo è l’unica cosa che puoi possedere veramente; nessuno, infatti, può togliertelo, se tu non vuoi.

Io lo ascoltavo, nel rispetto profondo e sincero del Professore e Filosofo, ma non capivo; pensando, invece, alla tirannia della vita moderna e cittadina ed ai suoi ritmi sempre più disumani. Era lo scandire incessante degli impegni che possedeva me, non viceversa.

Ora che vivo in campagna, che lavoro la terra, con la fatica fisica e con il grande dispendio di energie che accompagna il novellino inesperto, scopro e, sempre più assaporo, ritmi diversi.

Anche la natura impone i suoi ritmi, non è che puoi fare le cose come e quando ti pare. C’è un tempo per seminare ed uno per raccogliere e, in mezzo, tante altre cose che vanno fatte. Meglio se al momento giusto, seguendo le stagioni e rispettando – vale anche per gli scettici, sto imparando a mie spese – le bizze (o la saggezza antica) della luna.

Ma è la dimensione che è completamente diversa.

In ufficio, in città, occhio all’orologio e, spesso, troppo spesso, attento ai minuti, se non ai secondi. La competizione ha sicuramente aspetti positivi, che non disconosco. Ma produce un effetto devastante e sconvolgente sulle nostre scelte di vita, che è quello di farci apparire necessario il conseguimento di risultati sempre e solo immediati.

L’abbaglio perverso: “meglio prima che meglio”.

Ora, in campagna, ho impiantato una nuova vigna: vedrò i primi frutti fra tre anni (comunque avrò tempo per imparare a fare un buon vino; fiducioso, supportato da un terreno vocato e da un sole meraviglioso che accarezza le viti dall’alba al tramonto, su un dolce declivio).

Un frutteto di “frutta antica”, quella che nessuno vuole più piantare perché le piante producono pochi frutti e non lucidi e smaglianti come quelli del supermercato: alcuni alberi produrranno fra due anni, altri più tardi. Ma che sapori, riscopro. E che profumi. E i colori dei fiori.

Dove mi ero perso. Ho piantato una tartufaia: se prende, potrò estrarne tartufi fra cinque, sei, otto anni.

“Il tuo Tempo, nessuno può togliertelo, se tu non vuoi.”

Comincio a percepire qualcosa, specialmente in quell’invito finale ad una scelta consapevole e responsabile.

Ma è appena l’inizio, c’è un mondo sconfinato e affascinante da scoprire.

Icciano – La Tenuta del Tempo, is a young farm, small and… a bit presumptuous. With so much desire to grow but.. without haste. Looking forward to open to people! For this was born La Locanda del Tempo.

To provide guests the opportunity to share their true and deep emotions which the countryside can give. A country that is authentic, simple, almost poor, but at the same time full of mystery, ancient, on the border of an unbounded forest. Emotions that, after 25 years of employment in the city, I’m discovering now, myself. I loved my job at the bank, from which I draw great satisfaction, but I always knew I’d left.

I loved the different cities where I lived: last, Rome.

But there is a time for everything. Grandpa Henry told me: “ Guido, time is the only thing you really have, no-one can take away, if You do not want”. I listened to him in deep respect of the professor and philosopher, but I did not understand, thinking however the tyranny of modern life in the city and its rhythms increasingly inhumane. It was the incessant chant of the commitments that possessed me, not vice versa.

Now that I live in the countryside, working in the farm with the great expenditure of energy that accompanies the inexperienced novice, I find, and increasingly relish, new rhythms. Also the nature imposes its own rhythms, you can not do things as and when you like. There is a time to sow and one to collect and, in between, many other things that need doing. Preferably at the right time, following the seasons and respect – also applies to the skeptics, I’m learning the hard way – the tantrums (or the ancient wisdom) of the moon.

But it’s the size that is completely different. In the office, in town, eye the clock and, often, too often, attention to minutes, if not the latter. The competition has certainly positive aspects, which do not disclaim. But produces a shocking and devastating effect on our life choices, which is to make us seem necessary to obtain results only ever immediate.

The blunder perverse: “sooner rather than better.”

Now, in the countryside, I planted a new vineyard: I will see the first fruits in three years (still have time to learn to make good wine, I am confident. Supported by a suitable soil, while a wonderful sun caresses the vineyard from dawn to sunset, on a gentle slope). There is an orchard of “ancient” fruit, the one that nobody wants to plant because the plants produce few fruits, not shiny and bright as those in the supermarket. Some trees will produce in two years, others later.

But..what flavors I can taste! I have rediscovered them. And perfumes and fragrances… And the colors of the flowers… Where I was lost?

I planted a truffle: If it takes, I can extract truffles in five, six, eight years, maybe.

I begin to feel something, especially in the invitation to a final choice and responsible. But it is just the beginning, there is an endless and fascinating world to discover.
