Time for another round of real life scrapbooking inspiration! Check out these great peeks into everyday life found around the Web this week …

"Curlers" by Tricky Nag

How cute it that photo? “Curlers” by Tricky Nag just jumped out at me in the gallery, thanks to the interesting angle and great play of this adorable pic. I also like the fact this mom is documenting the events leading up to the performance, whereas so often we tend to get focused on just the event itself.

"The Things You Say" by pne123

I found several things to love about “The Things You Say” by pne123. First, the quote is simply precious and I love that it is now documented for this little girl to enjoy later on. I also really like the soft palette, the delicate choice of embellishments, the combination of layered elements with the text on the background, the cute little birdie stamp, and of course, that adorable photo.

"Bus Stop" by rebecca h

It’s that time of year again! I think it was my love of office & school supplies that first attracted me to “Bus Stop” by rebecca h. I really like how the photos are tucked into the library pockets, the fun and perfectly placed combination of elements, and just the overall balance and realistic feel of the page.

"Silly School Photo" by lacidock

Another great school-related page, “Silly School Photo” by lacidock takes a more humorous look at that special first day. I love the way the yellow striping really draws you into the center of the page and all the fun embellishments.

"Interchangeable" by nevache

If you’re in the mood to read some very insightful and heartfelt journaling, take a closer look at “Interchangeable” by nevache. I love the simplicity of this photo-less page and the way the title work and overall design really help tell the story of how this gal feels about this role in her life.

"Century Gothic" by terese

“Century Gothic” by terese shares a piece of this scrapper’s life I think many of us can relate to … a love of fonts. But how many of us have documented this particular love? Even better is how the fonts themselves help tell the story on this page …

"Favourites" by SkrappyKathy

You can’t go wrong documenting a simple list of the everyday behaviors, preferences, activities and funny traits that make up a child’s everyday life at a particular age. Add a set of cute photos and a handful of great embellishments and you’ll see why “Favourites” by SkrappyKathy is one of my, well… favorites!

"Fall Day" by liljatr

“Fall Day” by liljatr is one of those layouts you can really just sit and stare at for a while. I was first drawn to the collection of photos and the interesting framing of the kids on the bikes. But then the more I looked, the more I noticed all of the great details on this spread … the subtle brushwork, the whimsical embellishments, the various collections of words and phrases. I can’t think of a better way to welcome fall and wrap up this week’s Story Board …

In the hustle and bustle of your everyday, when's the last time you stopped and documented those little things that make up your real life? September Calendar Girl Rebecca Kuchenbecker reflects on her own efforts to scrap those important everyday memories.

This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated our sixth anniversary… and as many couple do, we talked about what we remembered from the wedding day.

September Calendar Girl Rebecca Kuchenbecker

It was hot! I said it was low 80s, my husband swore it was closer to 90. I could tell you all the things my bridesmaids and I did until the time of ceremony… my hubby only remembers that his dad was late. Most of the items that we can’t agree on, we can look back in the scrapbook and find the answers… but I didn’t record such basic items like what the temperature was or our to-do lists. How I wish I had thought of adding that to our album.

At that time I just dabbled in scrapbooking… not serious about it at all. Today, I am obsessed… I am in my second year of Project 365, I participated in Ali Edwards’ Week in the Life project, and I take photos of EVERYTHING!! My to-scrap folder is huge… I am so behind on getting everything scrapped and I know I will never be caught up. There are times that I remember to stop and step back and just create a slice of life page. I tend to get caught up in the little things that my son says or documenting my husband’s business successes… but I forget to document those average things… the boring tasks that I do to keep this family functioning…

"Right Here, Right Now" by MamaBee

Another slice of my life that I want to remember are package designs… someone had asked me years ago, do you remember what your toothbrush looked like or what kind of toothpaste that you used as a child? No… I don’t remember but I know my folks used Reach… my dad had a blue one and my mom had a red one…

"Same Thing Everyday" by MamaBee

It is rare that I do not journal on my pages… however, sometimes all those cute elements found in various kits can tell a story of what a slice of our life looks like. As in this pictorial, it shows the last layout I created, current photos of us, evidence of a toddler in the house, my to-do list, love of chocolate and coffee, and the technology I use daily.

"Mama's Desk" by MamaBee

I am trying to get more glimpses of my basic every day with my son. J is 3 years old and everyone will tell you how fast they are growing… boy, isn’t that the truth!! I can’t keep up… and even when I am with him day in and day out… I still miss many of the little things and it takes my hubby or mom to comment.

"Jacob Chatter" by MamaBee

"July Favorites" by MamaBee

So, here is my challenge for you… take a moment and look at the very basic things of your day and scrap it… because, it doesn’t get any more real than this!

As promised, I have a new little gift download today for anyone who chooses to add to our "Celebrating Real Life" fund-raising total with a contribution of any size between now and next Monday.

I clearly remember one day as a teenager when my mom, after watching me come home from downtown yet again with a little sack of fun but entirely unnecessary “stuff,” told me I should sit down and add up how much I had spent in the past month on similar purchases.

“It’s only $5 here and $10 there,” she said. “But when you add it all up, I think you’ll be surprised.”

As usual, she was right. And that comment has come to mind many, many times over the years, usually when balancing the checkbook at the end of a month that lasted longer than the money.

As frustrating as it is to realize how quickly the total adds up when you’re spending a little here and a little there, there’s something really cool about that fact as well.

It works in reverse.

What do I mean? Just take a look at our Week One “Celebrating Real Life” fund-raising total, the project I introduced last Monday to commemorate our upcoming first-year anniversary.

Thanks to $5 here and $10 there … sometimes less, sometimes more … in just ONE WEEK you have already provided more than $700 to help my brother and his family with their everyday expenses as he undergoes chemotherapy.

Talk about strength in numbers!

Every dime is appreciated … by me, by my parents, and of course, by my brother and his wife and daughter.

As promised, I have a new little gift download today for anyone who chooses to add to the total with a contribution of any size between now and next Monday. It’s a project sheet for a set of eight business card size magnets, each displaying an inspirational quote related to creativity or generosity … something I know you can relate to and appreciate.

Contributors will receive a downloadable file that includes instructions, plus the sheet of images all ready to be printed & turned into these magnets. The file will be delivered via email sometime within a day or so of your contribution. To make a contribution, simply click on the “Chip In” button in the “Celebrating Real Life” red box on the upper right-hand corner of the blog. (If you don’t see the box or have difficulty using it and still want to make a contribution, feel free to contact me at kristin@logyourmemory.com.)

Thank you to everyone who has contributed already and to everyone who chooses to do so this week. Your comments and prayers are also very much appreciated, as in anything you do to help us spread the word about this fund-raising effort.

In the words of an author featured on one of the magnets in this week’s download …

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” ~ Leo Buscaglia
