Ryan Reynolds is Hal Jordan in Green Lantern Movie?

The big comic-book-movie news du jour is that Ryan Reynolds (and not Bradley Cooper, as I had previously posted) has been cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. I’m not sure how I feel about that. Ryan is usually so silly, even when playing a badass role like in Blade 3. However, he did pull of psycho crazy in The Amityville Horror. I never saw Wolverine (gasp, I know, how dare I call myself a fanboy?) so I can’t speak to how good he was in that movie. I’m at least glad that they picked someone with a rockin’ body to play my favorite green super hero.

Freddie Stroma: The New Harry Potter Hunk

Last night after we watched Brüno, Migs asked me if I’d seen the blog coverage of the new Harry Potter hunk, Freddie Stroma. I had no idea who Migs was talking about. So, he whipped out is iPhone and showed me. Then, this morning Beauty and the Bum had a post about Freddie too. Looks like Freddie might be the new, clean-cut version of Robert Pattinson. If you recall, RPattz also had a small roll in Harry Potter 4, and then went on to his vampire movie fame. Let’s hope Freddie goes that route too, but with more showering and hair washing than RPattz.

Robert Pattinson Wet T-shirt Contest

Okay, so there is no wet T-shirt contest. But if there was, I’m not sure he’d win. Sure… he’s got pretty wet hair, but the boy has got concave tits. He’s such an emo/hipster/twink. That’s okay though, he’s still quite lovely. (That was me trying to use British vocabulary. Ha!)

I wonder what happens to a diamond-skinned sparkle-twink vampire when he gets wet. Do his sparkles fade, or do they glisten from the moisture and become even more gayishly brilliant?!

FOX News Host Shoves a Huge Foot in Mouth

[Brian] Kilmeade and two colleagues were discussing a study that, based on research done in Finland and Sweden, showed people who stay married are less likely to suffer from Alzheimer’s. Kilmeade questioned the results, though, saying, “We are — we keep marrying other species and other ethnics and other …”

At this point, his co-host tried to — in that jokey morning show way — tell Kilmeade he needed to shut up, and quick, for his own sake. But he didn’t get the message, adding, “See, the problem is the Swedes have pure genes. Because they marry other Swedes …. Finns marry other Finns, so they have a pure society.”
