“The logo was designed as part of the identity for my personal portfolio of work. J is the 10th letter of the alphabet, and my first initial. The 10 becomes the serif on the S and blends the two together in a clean, simple motion. I wanted the logo to balance something modern with something traditional in a slightly abstract way.”

“Plentii is a financial site with attitude. Geared towards Gen Y, otherwise boring and tedious information is presented in a smart, direct & often sassy language 20-somethings can understand. Full of edgy MTV-esque branded content, the videos, quizzes, articles, polls and live twitter fall comments make earning, spending & saving money fun.

The logo is part of a larger brand identity system we created, and was used in the website, stationery, online advertising, email marketing campaign, landing pages, banners & tee-shirts.The concept behind the logo (ie. what makes it work?)    The logo personifies the term “when pigs fly” by breaking the mold of the traditional piggy bank icon. It flying pig also illustrates how you can be successful when you’ve learned the right financial information, which the website can help teach. The modern, serif typeface is reminiscent of fonts found on currency, but brings it to the 21st century. The color palette uses “slightly off” greens from money.”

“Amber Music is one of the preeminent music production companies in the world, with offices in New York and Los Angeles.

Founded in 1993 by Michelle Curran, Amber’s composers and sound designers have consistently produced award wining work for a range of global clients, most recently receiving a Gold Lion at Cannes for Best Use of Music in 2008, and the only Gold Clio that was awarded in the Music category in 2009.

The final logo was based on how music is interpreted through a sound recorder. One continuous line from the beginning to the end. The logo was hand rendered with my own handwriting and I must say was a challenge itself. Refining the logos shapes and curves took me hours. Making sure the lines flow from one end to another while maintaing it’s balance. The red sun icon derives from their old logo to make direct ties with the old to the new.”

Mountain Child is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit that is raising awareness, resources and financial aid for humanitarian work carried out amongst impoverished children living in the Himalayas. Himalayan children, from infants to teenagers are often starving in Nepal. Many die before their 8th birthday b/c they don’t have basic medical care. The logo represents the hope MountainChild.org brings through their R.A.N.C.H. Its an organization w/ Christian roots and the star represents the Star of David.

Update 2/3/2010: This logo has been removed from Logo Of The Day due to the owner’s request, however, you may still see the original logo here and the newly updated logo on the Mountain Child website.

Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Clinic – The concept behind it is an interpretation of plastic surgery as a form of art. The meticulous effort to reach aesthetic perfection is reflected in a composition of a mosaic revealing the beauty of a human body.
