All Points Bulletin to close down servers after only 3 months.

2010-09-24T01:06:00.000-07:00

I think the slogan on the image above pretty much sums up how people are feeling about APB at the moment. If you haven't heard the so called MMO Shooter you should probably check back roughly a year ago to the ridiculous amount of hype that was built around this game. I wish I could say I wasn't surprised to see the servers closed down so quickly but the fact that the developers are shutting down servers after only 3 months of being in operation seems a bit tragic. EA essentially invested $100M USD into an experimental MMO that had such a rediculous amount of potential and hype backing it and after only 3 months of the servers running they pull the plug? I'm interested to know what the developers had to say about the game's ultimate demise but theres been a lot of talk & rumors about the number of hackers, bugs, sprouting of free private servers, financial issues & general incompetence of the official dev team that it's almost impossible to dig deep and find out exactly what went wrong, and to make matters worse it seems like a lot of people are saying it was a little bit of everything.

Needless to say this is another game that goes to the garbage bin. Especially since once the servers close down that $50 game you bought is even less useful then an AOL trial disc.

Heres hoping developers start taking into account that there's a limit to the amount of gift wrapped crap you can put on someones plate before they're not willing to pay for it.

APB, you were a wonderful concept. Too bad no one took that potential to the level it deserved.

Apologies for the lack of blog posts.

I don't always suck dick, but when I do, I do it for a Starcraft 2 Beta Key.

Forklift Truck Simulator 2009

2010-09-03T19:18:00.000-07:00

Jesus age christ this is intense, you're driving a forklift, and you pickup shit, and then you drive to a destination and drop that shit off then go back and pick up more shit to drop off at a different destination 2 feet away from the previous one. It's kind of like call of duty except with vehicles, and you pickup stuff, and drop it off, and don't shoot people. But god help you if you drop that shit, captain price will rape the hell out of you.

The graphics are even comparable to the previously posted Medal of Honor gameplay video. Be sure to check it out.

Medal of Honor 2010 - New Gameplay Video & Call of Duty: Black Ops Dedicated Server Rant

2010-09-03T01:56:00.000-07:00

EA has put out another gameplay video of the new Medal of Honor game, and having played the beta myself I can safely say it looks like they're taking a lot of community feedback to heart. Too bad the EA forums has been over swarmed with 12 year olds and trolls. That being said the new gameplay video looks sick, and the fact that dedicated servers will be made available to PC users is a big plus, especially since the new Call of Duty: Black Ops will feature dedicated servers, but they will be exclusively hosted by one company. (Source) This is probably the most unfortunate side of the usual PC users getting shafted argument, especially since there is virtually no valid reason for allowing only gameservers.com to host Call of Duty servers other then Treyarch getting a cut of the profits & having a killswitch for the servers when the next game in the series comes out. I myself have personally had a gameserver from gameservers.com reinstalled simply because a GS staff member failed to mention he had accidentally deleted all of my clan's gameserver files while doing a routine cleanup of cache files. Needless to say we're not the only ones who have had bad experiences with them. I'd hoped that Treyarch had learned from the past uproar about dedicated servers that Activision so badly botched in Modern Warfare 2, but it seems like Treyarch seems to be heading down a similar route with the hosting exclusivity.

Probably the best summary of Half-Life 1 & 2 ever made.

Zero Punctuation - Satirical game reviews

2010-09-02T05:05:00.000-07:00

If you're into any kind of satirical humor, you might very well enjoy this quite a bit. Zero Punctuation is a weekly game review in which Ben Croshaw does quick and concise reviews, i'm not sure if its the rediculously fast talking or english accent or the fact that it seems like he drank 9 too many cups of coffee before doing his reviews that make the entire experience comedic gold. Usually it's a love it or hate it relationship with the Zero Punctuation series but for me it is often a great amount of humor thats guaranteed to relate to any modern gamer. Be sure to take a gander!

Hold out against wave upon wave of zombies in this old but thrilling flash shooter.

2010-09-02T01:17:00.001-07:00

Fancy a bit of zombie killing action? I'm sure most people have already had a shot at The Last Stand & The Last Stand 2 but it's always nice to remind people of a flash game that felt especially polished, these two haven't been mentioned in a long while and that makes this the perfect time to make an article suggesting you get off your ass and give it a go once more.

F**king zombies, how do they work?

Unleash your inner child with Minecraft, a free block based sandbox game.

2010-09-01T18:48:00.001-07:00

If you're looking for a free sandbox game with unlimited possibilities Minecraft is hard to beat.

It's a Java based sandbox game in which players place blocks, fight monsters, construct massive pieces of art & architecture and all for the sake of that butterfly stomach feeling at the end of it all.

Basically, you're only limited to your imagination, there is a wide variety of public and private servers on minecraft and thankfully you can play it anywhere as it is java based (assuming you have java installed, but mind you java is even more commonly found then flash now a days). It's an awesome experience from start to finish and it's more then easy to let the hours pass when you take the time to play, you'll quickly find yourself in a vegetative state; focusing purely on constructing the last half of your missile silo base or building a gigantic underground fortress, the potential is literally endless & the developer makes a great deal of effort to keep the community happy. This game is definitely getting a big fat steam of approval from the wizard, as it's hard to beat in terms of creativity.
