Borough Market Meet - 25.06.09

Summer's here and everyone knows it. A great turn-out was had tonight for the weekly LB Borough Market Meet (BMM). Lots of familiar and new faces, new bikes and new stories for what's gone since the last meet. Stories of recent long rides, short rides, embarrassing moments, annoying moments and talk of the boys in blue is par for the course at this time of year, but the common theme is that everyone is glad to get out and enjoy their bike and see their friends. The Isle of Man TT Races was blessed with simply stunning weather with just the slightest glitch on the first Raceday meaning the Superbike Race was moved to the following Monday.

BSB 2009 Round 3 - Donington Park #3

Round three of the 2009 British Superbikes series, held at the infamous Donington Park circuit. Airwaves Yamaha take the double with Leon Camier winning the first race, but fell back through the order in race-two due to a technical problem with his bike, allowing team-mate James Ellison to take the win after a fight with Chris Walker. Also, Sylvain Guintoli was taken out of the weekend and the next few races due to a serious accident involving HM Plant Honda rider Josh Brookes and Guintoli on a warm-up lap when Brookes rode into Guintoli, breaking his leg very badly. Brookes has been awarded a one-race ban for causing the accident.

SPEA FIM Trial World Championship Carlisle Nord Vue May 2009

Over 6,000 people came to see the World’s best trial riders compete for the SPEA FIM Grand Prix of Great Britain titles and corresponding World Championship points at Armathwaite near Carlisle last weekend. Despite the variable weather forecast, this spectacular event certainly captured the imagination of thousands of visitors, from long-term followers of the sport to novices keen to make the most of the rare opportunity to see international sporting stars on their doorstep.

Aprilia RSV4 Unveiling @ Wheel Power

Wheel Power in Merton, London were the first Aprilia dealership in the country to get the brand-new 2009 Aprilia RSV4 superbike in front of customers. The bike was unveiled to everyone on the 30th anniversary of the store, where an open-day was put on, welcoming old and new customers like. MCN babes and world-famous superbike racer Shaun Emmett were also on display to celebrate the day.

2009 GSX-R 1000 K9 Launch & 007 GSX-R Special

We went down to see the much-anticipated GSX-R 1000 K9 being launched at the West London Suzuki dealership in Bedfont today. We hope to have some words soon, but for now here's some photos. Impressive as it was with the "everything new" two year revision, there was another special showing, West London Suzuki's one-off James Bond 007 GSX-R 750. It's hard to refute that it's impressive, with nice touches like "007-Fifty" on the bodywork and the roulette rear wheel paint work. Enjoy the photos...

Bike Night 27.02.09

It's been a long time since we've taken photos of the infamous Friday night "Bike Night", which for many bikers the nation over, means the first time in a long week to get out with their mates on their bikes and have a good time. For my group, this meant hitting the Ace Cafe first to find out a ride-out into the countryside has been missed, before heading out to a couple of quiet roundabouts so that Ratty can have some fun with Thumper2, before heading back to the Ace Cafe to hook up with some more folks and head out to a quiet spot where the ride-out people could have some fun and talk shop.
