Evolution is a scientific theory that explains the facts (observations) of evolution (change in a population over multiple generations), it has been through the riggers of the scientific method for over a 150 years and not only has it survived, it has thrived. It is one of the most successful theories in science. It is supported by millions of peer reviewed papers and countless observations.
Intelligent design on the other hand has no peer reviewed papers and no observations supporting it. Its predictions have long been falsified, many before it was invented. Intelligent design was invented as part of a strategy to get religion and God (Yahweh) back into schools.

Of course just saying all that is not enough to prove the point. So lets compare them head to head.
Evolution.

• Evolution predicted transitional fossils in the fossil recored and they have been found.
• Evolution has been observed in the laboratory and in nature.
• Speciation has been observed.
• Taxonomy, genetics and the fossil recored all show that currently existing species descend from common ancestors.

Intelligent design

• No irreducibly complex organ or structure in any organism has been found.
• The fossil recored does not support the idea that any organism came into existence fully formed with out a preexisting species for it to have evolved from.
• Intelligent design is unfalsifiable as the “designer” could have created everything three days ago and made it look like the universe is billions of years old and life evolved

Then theres the wedge strategy.
The wedge strategy was a plan made by the Discovery Institute to replace scientific explanations with supernatural explanations in schools. specifically they wanted to replace science with “Godidit”. This was outlined in a document called the The Wedge Document which was leaked to the web (note to conspiracy theorists: this is why these big conspiracies can’t work; the more people involved the more likely it is someone will talk).
Intelligent design was part of the plan. They wanted to replace scientific explanations of life with intelligent design and then replace that with straight creationism.

Intelligent design is in no way shape or form equal to evolution.

A pharmacist refused to serve a mother-of-two with a prescription for the contraceptive pill because it went against her religious beliefs.

Shocked Janine Deeley, 38, initially thought the female pharmacist must be joking, but became angry when she was told to try another chemist or come back the next day when someone else was on duty.

She said: ‘I couldn’t believe the arrogance of the woman. Who is she to refuse to give me properly prescribed legal drugs? I am a responsible adult.

‘She had no right to refuse to dispense my prescription except if the drugs weren’t in stock or if she thought the dosage was incorrect.’

Hell yeah!

A spokeswoman for Lloyds pharmacy said an investigation had been launched: ‘We are very sorry Ms Deeley was refused supply of her prescribed contraceptive pill at our Duke Street pharmacy.

‘We have launched an investigation into the incident and been in contact with her to apologise for any distress and inconvenience caused.’

Good. At least some one is doing something right unlike in the next quote.

Its should be! If it is against your religion to do something don’t get a fucking job where you have to to that! If you have a job that requires you to do something that is against your religion either get over it and do the damn thing or find another job. She was stupid enough to get a job where she had to do things that are against her religion so she should have to do them or get another job.

They are all fucking idiots. Every system has its advantages and disadvantages. Yes there are good parts to authoritarian systems but there are also bad parts, the same goes for an anarchistic system, a socialistic system and a capitalistic system. There is no silver bullet, they all have problems that fuck them up! But what if we combine systems? Mix some socialism with some capitalism, some authoritarianism with some anarchism and make the perfect system? While that would make a better system, there is never going to be a perfect system! What works in one situation may not work in another and it is very difficult to near impossible to tell what will work in any given situation before hand. The best we can do is look to the past and see what worked in smiler situations but even then it may not work in the currant one and hindsight isn’t enough to tell you what would have worked best as you will always be dealing with a limited about of information. Even if you find the best system for a given situation it will be far from perfect, there will always be problems.

There will always be haves and have nots, there will always be crime, there will always be corruption, there will always be unhappiness, there will always be fights, there will always be wars. No system, no combination of systems can solve all our problems, we can only hope to minimize them.

Pontinha was thought to have been held by the Knights Templar, the religious order that was part of the Christian forces which occupied Jerusalem during the Crusades in the 12th century.

The knights were part of the plot of Dan Brown’s best-selling novel, The Da Vinci Code.

They actually mentioned the the De Vinci Code, a book by Dan Brown, the guy that make shit up, writes a book about it and claims its true.

For the past year, this Bible Belt city of 200,000 has been consumed by a culture clash between Repent Amarillo and their targets, a list that includes everything from gay bars to liberal churches. For the Route 66 swingers, Grisham’s “special forces” have been a near-constant presence. Jobs have been lost, families estranged, assault charges filed and businesses shuttered. So far, no public official has stood up to defend these businesses, which operate legally. To the contrary, Repent Amarillo has managed to turn the city’s own laws and employees into an effective weapon. Amarillo, it turns out, doesn’t have the stomach to stick up for gays, swingers, strippers or even Unitarians. Absent a peacekeeper, the conflict might end up being settled the old-fashioned way, frontier-style. “This will not end until somebody gets hurt, either us or them,” one swinger warns.

The article goes on to say how this Taliban uses legal and less than legal tactics against swingers parties and clubs, gay bars and nightclubs and even went after individuals getting at least one man fired.

Apparently these people have been taking notes from the Taliban and sharia police in Saudi Arabia.

This is one of the reasons I think religion is bad; it gives ass holes like these power and (in their minds) justifications for stomping on other peoples rights. Yes these people could gain justification and power in other authoritarian systems but in a free and open non-religious society such ass holes wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

An Archaeopteryx fossil

Argument 1: The Archaeopteryx fossil was faked.
Which one? There are 9. Found in multiple places and at different times^[2]. Of course they may be talking about Archaeoraptor which was put together by a fossil hunter and sold to a collector. It was never featured in any peer reviewed journals^[3].

Argument 2: Archaeopteryx was 100% bird.
Yet it had no bill, teeth, a long bony tail, claws on three unfused finger and other dinosaur like traits^[4].

Argument 3: Archaeopteryx wasn’t the ancestor of birds.
Maybe not, the genus could have died out and another in the Archaeopterygidae family could have been the ancestors of modern birds, we don’t know. We need allot more fossils to know. We do know it has features of both birds and theropod dinosaurs which shows that theropod dinosaurs evolved into birds.
