Recently I have been wondering where to go with this blog. I feel like there is no focus, and I've lost this feeling of happiness and enthusiasm when writing posts.
I believe that in order for a blog to exist for an unlimited amount of time you have to be really passionate about what you write. This means not to see it as a 'I'll do it for a few months until I lose interest' thing.

I have really been struggling - and still am - in deciding where I want to go with this blog. It seems ridiculously hard to motivate myself to write blogposts, and to find a 'voice' for this blog.
By 'voice' I mean a personal style, something to distinguish this blog from others, something for readers to hold onto and to connect with. Something that makes you feel like 'yeah, I know this blog' - a unique character.
However, I still haven't lost all my motivation, otherwise I wouldn't even bother writing this. Like I said, I really struggle and keep thinking about what to do with this blog - so the aspiration hasn't left me yet.

I know though that something has to change. Maybe it's just a small thing, maybe it's everything. I can't tell yet.
Should I change the layout/design? Should I not use an 'online name' anymore? It should be safe enough, and this could help in connecting better with others. What sort of stuff should I write about?
These are all things that have been going through my mind.

Most of the time I really enjoy looking at food photography, eating, eating more, then baking and cooking, and finally taking photos of the food as well.
So why not go with this for the blog? At least my blog's name would go well with that.
Yeah.. I thought I should probably do that until I started thinking about how boring it could be after a while to blog about the same thing over and over again.
But then again - I want to focus.

I also keep coming back to the thought of actually writing. Not just writing a few sentences to go with some pretty pictures, but some deeper thoughts/topics. Considering that I'm studying photojournalism and it's part of my course this could be a good chance to get involved a bit more, to gain experience and to figure out my own style of writing. And after all I would be free to write about whatever comes to my mind.
So I'm thinking of columns, features, reviews, interviews in particular.

One thing I don't want to happen is to realise that once I've decided on a main topic I get bored again, and keep thinking about other things to blog about.
Also, I am about to set up a website for my photography, and a blog to go with that. I am really looking forward to that, as I can definitely say that photography is one of my passions. Surely I won't lose interest in that. If I did I wouldn't know what to be passionate about anymore. ;) I think I would just stop blogging if I got bored with blogging about photography.
But yeah... that's a different story, and I am happy to have two separate blogs. Because there is more interesting stuff in this world to blog about than just one single topic.

I guess this was quite a bit to read, but it feels good just getting it out there, and I would love to get your thoughts on it.

I haven't really been updating this blog lately. Probably won't be doing so for another while (not too long, though) while I'm having my exams, and deadlines coming up at uni.

I'm also planning on changing some things, and want to take my time to do so.

Hey there,

I hope you're all well. Today I'm going to do a bit of advertising ;)
My friend Bertrand (who's a photographer as well) from the Indie Podcast Just Like Honey is running the London Marathon this year, and he's running for the Breast Cancer Care. So he needs to raise a bit of money and had a pretty cool idea on how to do this:
He asked 11 bands to cover the song which inspired the name of his podcast - 'Just Like Honey (by The Jesus and Mary Chain)' - and all 11 versions are up now on Just Like Honey, ready for you to buy and listen to.
Have a look, I think it's a great idea :)

Apple Cinnamon Yoghurt Cake

Ingredients

1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
4 tbsp butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
1/2 cup natural yoghurt
4 peeled and chopped apples
lemon juice
brown sugar (goes on top)

1) mix: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt
2) mix: butter, sugar, egg, vanilla
3) add together: dry mixture first, wet mixture, dry, wet, dry. Only mix until just combined
4) scatter apple pieces on top/mix in, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle with lemon juice (prevents apples from turning brown).

Bake 200°C, 20-25 mins

The cake should turn out very moist. So if you feel like your mixture is a bit 'dry' after mixing everything together, don't worry - it should be fine.

I came across the French hat shop Paname yesterday and I love the kind of dark but glamorous feel about them. Have a look at the website to see some more of their hats, crowns and headdresses - they all seem quite artistic, rather than just fashionable. And like it also says on the website, all the headdresses are unique.

Hello lovelies,
I want to share some wall decoration with you today - seen at uni.
All you need is some shiny colourful paper, scissors, and a nice and big empty wall. Oh, and some glue.
You can see for yourself on the photo I took today (I finally managed to take my camera with me. I have been wanting to take a photo of it for days, thinking it would be a great idea to share on my blog).
Anyway, I love this idea. It's enchanting, colourful, creative. And you can basically make any shape/word/picture out of it.

And again... so sorry for not keeping up with my blog ;) I guess I have to go from posting every few days to maybe posting once a week - I'd like to post regularly, so in order to do that I just have to post less often. Hopefully I can manage to stick with that ;)
I hope you're all going well!
It's my first week back at uni, and already got about 7 deadlines for the next term... not so excited about that.
Other than that... not much - I wish we had lots of snow like in the photo. But it's pretty warm at the moment, it doesn't really feel like winter.

If I find some time I want to make a few changes to my blog, and also set up a photography blog.

That's about it for now, just keeping you up to date. And fingers crossed my next regular post won't be too far away.

Seven random facts about myself:
(let's keep it simple and short)

1. I keep changing my mind and get bored doing something for a while (for too long).

2. So at the moment I would love to live in New Zealand - although I just moved to London and really wanted to live and study there.

3. I love (!) food, but one of the things I'm really afraid of is becoming big.

4. I believe in God.

5. I haven't seen one of my best friends for more than 1,5 years - and I don't know when we'll get to see each other next.

6. I met my boyfriend on the other side of the world, he came over to the other side of the world with me, we had a long distance relationship for one year and we finally managed to live together. Yay :)

Hey everyone, I hope you're all good. My holiday is going well so far - too well, so I don't even get the time to blog. Sorry for that.

Anyway, let me share a yummy recipe with you for now. I haven't tried it out yet, but I definitely will.

I am sure the macarons taste great, just from looking at the photos. They so make me feel like having some right now!

I hope you're all fine. My holiday is going really well so far, it's so nice to be over here, in the sun. Isn't it pretty cool how you can get from one side of the world to the other so easily?
We've been going for swims in the sea, did some surfing, and just had fish and chips. ;)

And I can't imagine what it's like in London now anymore. Cold, dark, grey, rainy? Even though you know that it's hard to imagine.

What have you guys been up to? Already in your Christmas holidays?

Sorry for not posting very often recently, I'm so busy (still). ;) Anyway, winter's coming (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), and I just constantly feel like eating chocolate and other yummy stuff. I've been making Dulce de Leche (see recipe), and now I can't stop thinking of what I want to use it for. Other than just using it as a bread spread I want to make muffins, cupcakes, caramel popcorn, eat it with waffles, pancakes....
Just another week and we're off to New Zealand, I can't believe it. My thoughts are only focused on my assignments at the moment, and imagining that I will go from winter into summer makes it seem even less real. But it should be good and I'm really looking forward to it :)

Sorry for not keeping up with my blog recently, I am really busy at the moment. One of the reasons was my doorstepping assignment - mentioned it here a while ago.
So as you can see I got it done and I even got photos of Lady Gaga today! :) I am so over the moon that I finally got my photos.
It was quite cool to get to see Lady Gaga by the way (even though it involved lots and lots of patience!), there's something about her. Something a bit different. Something Gaga. ;)

I have to admit that I love bathrooms that don't look like bathrooms. They might be vintage, or country style, or full of posters. I imagine my dream bathroom to be tiled in black and white (not modern tiles, but chessboard style), lots of light and many green plants in it. And maybe some wood as well. Plus one of those old bathtubs.

What would your favourite bathroom look like?
