The administrator rattles off typical suspects and applies all his knowledge and experience to overcome the disaster. However, in most cases, the corruption remains inescapable and the result is - database unmountability or strange behaviour of database. In such situations, a complete online backup acts as a boon and allows the administrator to mount and access the database objects. But, the disastrous situation might continue if the administrator has not maintained any backup or the backup file gets corrupted. For such situations, it is advisable to opt for a third-party MySQL database repair application that provides complete repair of corrupted database.

Some common error messages that help a MySQL database administrator to identify that his database is corrupted are listed below:
• 126: Index file is crashed / Wrong file format
• 127: Record file is crashed
• 132: Old database file
• 134: Record was already deleted (or record file crashed)
• 135: No more room in record file
• 136: No more room in index file
• 141: Duplicate unique key or constraint on write or update
• 144: Table is crashed and last repair failed
• 145: Tables was marked as crashed and should be repaired
Cause:
Few common ways by which MySQL database corruption occurs are killing MySQLD process in between, improper system shutdown, MySQL bug, and hardware failure.
Resolution:
To overcome the above error messages, the administrator needs to follow the below steps:
• Run CHECK TABLE command to identify the level of corruption.
• Run REPAIR TABLE command to repair the corrupt table.
In case the above steps fail to repair the database, then the user needs to find a good third-party MySQL repair application.
Database Repair Tool Information:
A MySQL database repair software is a permanent solution to repair corrupted database. The utility not only repairs and recovers all MySQL database components, but also restores them at user-specified location. The MySQL repair tool is easy understandable and does not require any prior technical knowledge.
Applied for:
MySQL 5.x
We live at a time where most of our critical data are stored in our personal computers, and while a password can protect our documents from several malicious activities, it can also pose unexpected problems if forgotten.

Therefore it is always handy to keep a password resetting software for such cases. These software applications can help you recover your important passwords within a minute! However, since with every new upgrade of the Microsoft Windows operating system, the login configuration changes, one must ensure that their password resetting software provides support for all the popular Windows versions such as Windows XP, Vista, NT, 2000 and the most recent Windows 7.
However, one should be careful enough before investing on such an application, as there are a few who do not walk the talk. However, the genuine ones do provide good value for money, and it is advisable to go for such software applications which can provide money back guarantee if the tool does not work. Apart from that, there must be customer support round the clock to assist customers during the process.
Although the best way is to set passwords that you never forget, but in such cases where you do, there is nothing better than a password resetting software - which acts like a friend to take you out of a tight spot!
It aims to avoid an expensive system of owned or leased lines that can be used by only one organization.
It encapsulates data transfers between two or more networked devices which are not on the same private network so as to keep the transferred data private from other devices on one or more intervening local or wide area networks. There are many different classifications, implementations, and uses for VPNs.

What can we do with VPN?

To hide the users’ true IP address
When using VPN connections, your client machine’s IP address will be hidden and your remote server (VPN server)’s IP address will be shown.

Secure data transferred over the internet
Most of the VPN will have the option to encrypt the data and thus they are safer to be transferred over the internet. This is especially good for company use.

Access sites that are blocked in certain regions
China is a very good example. Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and so many more websites are blocked in the country and people have to use different methods to bypass the restriction and VPN is one of the common way to achieve what they want.

How to set up PPTP VPN server on CentOS VPS?
Just in case some of the readers don’t know, I have moved my sites from shared hosting to Linode VPS a couple months ago. I was just thinking that my WordPress blogs don’t really need that much of resource anyways, why don’t I just set up a VPN server for my in-need use?
So for today, I will be introducing the easy installation of PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol) VPN on CentOS 5.5, if you want to know the server setup, you should probably ready my LNMP server setup guide first. Technically, you don’t even need a domain or a website, you can use your VPS purely for a VPN server.
Special Note: PPTPD can only be installed on XEN servers, for the difference of OpenVZ and XEN, you can visit http://www.rockia.com/2010/06/go-openvz-or-go-xen-for-vps
To get started, you need to use your root account to access your VPS server via SSH. Then type in the following command lines (pptpd.sh is not created by Rockia, I just host the file here for convenience, credits are back to Diahosting.com )

wget http://www.rockia.com/dl/pptpd.sh
Then hit “Enter”, the shell files should be downloaded on your server and now you can run it:

sh pptpd.sh
The installation will be run and completed automatically, and when it’s done, the VPN username and password will be displayed on your console screen.
Can I change the user name and password? Of course you can.

Change PPTP VPN account setting
The PPTP VPN server’s account information is stored in the file located at “etc/ppp/chap-secrets”, you can use the command line to edit this file directly:

nano etc/ppp/chap-secrets
Or you can download the file, edit it and upload it back again, but anyways, you have to follow a simple syntax of the account setting:

Here is the screen-shot of my “chap-secrets” file. All you need to do is to type in the username you want to use (as vpn-user in the picture), then space and type in “pptpd”, and then space and the password (as vpn-password) in the picture and then “*” for the last one if you allow all IP address access your VPN server.
You will need restart PPTPD server when changes are made with the following command line:

/etc/init.d/pptpd restart

Post Note:
This is it. It’s extremely easy to install a PPTP VPN server on your VPS. However, if you are not comfortable with the “easy installation” package written by someone else, there are tons of tutorial online that you can read and try.

Hercules

OK let’s get started!
To complete this tutorial, you will need to the following stock:
Sky
City
Rock
Dirty Brush

Step 1
Create a new document sized 1440*900px, fill the background with black colour. Load the Sky image into Photoshop and select a portion as shown below:

Copy and paste the selection onto our document, resize it to fit the width of the canvas:

Add the following image adjustment layers as clipping mask to this sky layer:
Black and White

Channel Mixer

Curves

Levels

Erase the upper portion of the sky, and you will have the following effect:

Step 2
Load the city photo into Photoshop, cut out the city portion of the image as shown below: (use quick selection tool here)

Paste the city onto our document, resize it to fit the width of the canvas:

Add the following image adjustment layers to the city layer as clipping mask:
Black and white

Channel Mixer

Levels

Mask on Levels adjustment layer:

Use a small size soft eraser, erase some portions of the highest buildings, as shown below: (We do this in order to prepare for the burning effect later on)
High-rise 1

High-rise 2 and High-rise 3

and here is the effect so far:

Step 3
I decided to use the sky image again to fill the empty space on the upper side of our document. So let’s copy and paste the sky photo onto our document again:

Reduce the layer opacity of this new sky layer to around 50%:

Black and White

Channel Mixer

Curves

and here is th effect so far:

Step 4
Load the rock image into Photoshop, select one rock from the image – we will use it for the meteor effect:

Paste the selection on to our document, sharpen it a little bit with the sharpen filter:

Erase the edges of the rock with a soft eraser:

For your reference, this is the layer mask I added on the rock layer – by mixing soft eraser and grungy brushset:

Apply the following layer blending options to this rock:
Outer Glow

Inner Glow

and here is the effect so far:

Step 5
We’re almost done. Now we can fine-tune the image a a bit by adding some cloud around the meteor. Make sure you warp/distort them to form a trailing effect:

Optionally, you can add a few more rocks to the image, use the same step described before:

Now you can either render some cloud with the cloud filter, or use some cloud brushes (reduce their sizes) to paint some cloud/smoke BEHIND the high-rises:

Paint some particles with the dirt brush you downloaded:

Also add some cloud overlay to the high-rises on the far distance:

Add a colour balance adjustment layer on top of all layers:

Add a layer mask on this colour balance layer for some variation and increase depth of the image: (we don’t want to the whole image to be red!)

After adding this colour balance layer, you will see those smokes and cloud we added before will transform into flame/burning effect:

Plus the meteor is now red-hot as well:

And here is the overall final effect: (click to enlarge)

Most of people buys Virtual Private servers because their shared hosting is not enough or their site is getting more visitors that shared hosting cant afford. But some of them doesn’t know the basics of installing admin panel (like Cpanel) on their VPS and managing their VPS from scratch. So I own few VPS’s for my hosting needs and I was a geek too when I entered this area of interest but now I fed up with google a lot And this is a guide about how to install Kloxo (formerly known as LXAdmin) on CentOS. Note that the same process can be done for dedicated servers installed CentOS on it.

Things you need-

A VPS or dedicated server that has at least 128MB memory

SSH Client , PUTTY for windows operating systems Download it free

Relaxed mind

Note that there are many Admin panels like Cpanel,Kloxo,ISPconfig,Webmin,Plesk . But I recommend Kloxo (LXadmin) because it runs on even low memory VPS’s that has only 128MB memory and there is built in 2 web servers , Apache and Lighttpd. Previously there were 2 versions of kloxo panels one is Free version and the other is Kloxo Enterprise.

The free version only had support to only 40 domains run on the same server and Enterprise version can run unlimited domains on one server. But now Kloxo owner LXlabs CEO K.T Ligesh dead. And the Kloxo is become a freeware So you can now obtain Enterprise license for free.
So if you want more information or want to see demo’s about kloxo please go to their website here.
So lets start-

First of all you need to install PUTTY and login to your server with it by very easy steps, providing the ipaddress and password given to you buy the hosting company. The default User name is root.

The you need to install YUM So run these commands on putty-

#!/bin/bash
for file in
elfutils-0.125-3.el5.i386.rpm
elfutils-libs-0.125-3.el5.i386.rpm
expat-1.95.8-8.2.1.i386.rpm
gmp-4.1.4-10.el5.i386.rpm
libxml2-2.6.26-2.1.2.1.i386.rpm
libxml2-python-2.6.26-2.1.2.1.i386.rpm
m2crypto-0.16-6.el5.2.i386.rpm
python-2.4.3-21.el5.i386.rpm
python-elementtree-1.2.6-5.i386.rpm
python-iniparse-0.2.3-4.el5.noarch.rpm
python-sqlite-1.1.7-1.2.1.i386.rpm
python-urlgrabber-3.1.0-2.noarch.rpm
readline-5.1-1.1.i386.rpm
rpm-4.4.2-48.el5.i386.rpm
rpm-libs-4.4.2-48.el5.i386.rpm
rpm-python-4.4.2-48.el5.i386.rpm
sqlite-3.3.6-2.i386.rpm
yum-3.2.8-9.el5.centos.1.noarch.rpm
yum-metadata-parser-1.1.2-2.el5.i386.rpm
do wget http://mirror.centos.org/centos-5/5.3/os/i386/CentOS/$file;
done

When your server finishes downloading YUM run this commands to install it-

# rpm -Uvh *.rpm

Then feel free to
# yum -y update
to bring your system up to date.

Then YUM is successfully installed

The nest step is to install Kloxo, Run these commands on your server-

wget http://download.lxlabs.com/download/kloxo/production/kloxo-install-master.sh
sh ./kloxo-install-master.sh

You will presented with a question/menu from yum/up2date, on which you can press <Enter>
Kloxo will install:
Web server:
apache
pure-ftp
awstats
Mail server:
qmail-toaster
courier (imap pop)
webmail
httpd (for webmail)
Nameserver:
bind
bind-chroot
Database Server:
mysql-server

Then your kloxo install is successful you can login in to panel at yourip:7778 The default user name is- Admin and the password is – Admin

So enjoy your Panel and ill write later about how to update in to Kloxo Enterprise edition for free or use your friend

How to Install Webmin

Webmin is a free and open source web-based control panel for managing a dedicated or virtual private server. Webmin works well for server administrators with intermediate as well as advanced level knowledge.

In this post I look at how to install Webmin on Centos Linux.

Installing webmin

To begin installing Webmin you must have root level shell access (SSH) to your server. You can login as root or simply run the following command to switch to root:

su -
Enter the root password and you will have root level access to your server.
To download and install the latest version of Webmin just type the following command:

rpm –U http://www.webmin.com/download/rpm/webmin-current.rpm
After Webmin is installed you must make sure that it runs automatically at system startup:

chkconfig --level 2345 webmin on
Start Webmin by entering the following:

service webmin start
By default Webmin listens to port number 10,000. For security reasons its quite likely that you don't have all ports accessible on your server. So you must poke a hole in your firewall to allow access to Webmin:

iptables -I INPUT -p tcp --dport 10000 -j ACCEPT ; /etc/init.d/iptables save
Now if you visit http://<mainserver ip address>:10000 in your web browser you should see the Webmin login prompt. For example if you server ip is 192.168.0.1 then you would visit http://192.168.0.1:10000.

Webmin login prompt

Just enter 'root' as the username and use your root password to login. Once you login you should see the following web page:

On the right hand side you have some basic information and statistics about your server. Things like server load, memory usage etc. On the left hand side you have a menu that you can use to manage your system.

Secure access
One of the first things I do after installing Webmin is to enable SSL access. SSL encrypts the connection between your browser and your web server when using Webmin. This prevents eavesdropping as you carry out sensitive server management tasks.
On the left hand menu click on Webmin > Webmin Configuration. Then on the right hand side scroll down to the bottom and click on SSL encryption. On the next page select "yes" under "Enable SSL if available?" and click on save. Now you may have to re-login at https://<your serverip>:10000.
At this stage your web browser is likely to complain that the SSL certificate is not upto the mark. That is because its a self signed certificate that hasn't been approved by any independent authority. However, it is perfectly safe so you should add an except to it. In Firefox for example you would do the following:

Visit https://<your serverip>:10000.

Firefox will display a warning page. Click on "I understand the risks".

Click on "get certificate" on the new window that pops up.

Make sure "permanently store this exception" is checked. Click on "confirm security exception".

Now you will be able to manage your server via a secure SSL connection using Webmin!
