Recently hitting the interweb today is news of a potential Xbox 360 slim console.  The picture above is what the potential new console could look like, and below is what we think is the new motherboard design.  The new motherboard (pictured after the jump) is interesting , with the GPU and CPU being put onto a single solitary chip.  And damn son!  Look at that awesome heatsink and CoolerMaster fan setup.  That shit will stay cool for DAYS…..

The motherboard is said to have already completed testing in China, and from the looks of it, looks to be a complete re-design of the console.  With the Project Natal motion controllers hitting stores sometime this year (probably before Christmas), this would surely cut down the cost of the Xbox 360 all-together (similar to what happened with the PS3 Slim) and we might be seeing a Natal/360 bundle that would stay on par with the $299 price point we currently have.  I’m excited for new tech shit.  Makes my dick get hard.

If you’ve been following my Heavy Rain freezing saga, you’ll be well aware that I’ve been unable to finish the game. After a fair amounts of highly vocal complaints, Quantic Dream was able to narrow down a few issues and slap a patch together. It’s now in the final stages of testing and should be deployed soon.

I’m looking forward to getting back to the game once the patch is released and hopefully solving the case of the Origami Killer. If my game save still doesn’t work after the patch, expect broken PlayStation items in my house.

As reported by SimPrograms, Caryl Shaw has left EA games and is changing jobs. You might best know Caryl Shaw from Maxis and EA games. She has worked on many Sim games and more recently Spore. As Senior Producer and manager of the Web Development Team for Spore, she was very involved in getting the Sporepedia up and running. I had the pleasure of meeting Caryl when I got to preview Spore before the release date in 2009. She’s a very talented lady with a love of gaming and she’s pretty darn nice too.

Caryl has left EA games to move on with ngmoco. A company that makes exclusive iPhone and iTouch games. We wish Caryl the best and look forward to her projects with ngmoco.

Today is the day that all of you can finally get your hands on what has a strong chance at being 2010’s Game of the Year. God of War III is out now on store shelves, so make sure to run out and get a copy today. Whether you rush through the game in 7 hours, skipping orb chests and collectibles, or you pine over every detail on the hardest difficulty for 15+ hours, this one will be in your PS3 for a while. I played through for my review on Normal and it took me somewhere in the 11-12 hour neighborhood, for those wondering. If you were living under a rock last week and missed our review, definitely check it out.

With tremendous replay value, as with all God of War games, I can see myself getting back into Kratos’ shoes quite a few times. I’m already about 7-8 hours in on my second play through (again on Normal, just looking for a few collectibles I missed my first time through). I’m sure many of you will be in the same boat in a week or so when you want more action.

I picked up Battlefield the other day in hopes of finding a new multiplayer experience that could drag me away from Modern Warfare 2. After playing a little through the single player, I figured I’d give the multiplayer a shot.

While attempting to join a game, I was instantly booted back to the Xbox 360 dashboard. I figured it was just a minor glitch so I tried again to no avail. After being booted to the dashboard twice, I figured I would try again later. I asked my friend about the issue and he said he gets it every once in awhile.

Have any of you guys experienced this yet?

The release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 couldn’t have come at a more perfect time than when it did.  You see, I’m one of the thousands of gamers that put Modern Warfare 2 on the back-burner for an undisclosed amount of time.  As soon as the glitches started to hit, I had to put my controller down until they were fixed.  Thousands of you gamers out there cried out to Infinity Ward as glitch after glitch hit the multiplayer fronts online.  God mode, unlimited ammo of everything, the “fast running glitch”, rocket jumpers, all of these paved the way for patch after patch being put into place by Infinity Ward.  Why do I want to play that with all of this crap going on?

I’m one of those people who hasn’t put my Modern Warfare 2 disc in my 360 since late last year.  Sure, I’m a level 28 or so, but I got out of there before the bugs started hitting.  Why would I chance all of that XP I worked so hard for when one bullet can net me NEGATIVE 1,000,000 XP by killing the wrong dude?  No way, I’m not doing it.  For me it just wasn’t fun anymore, and, I’m a pussy.

With the release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 hitting, I feel like it’s a welcome breath of fresh air.  I find myself getting excited again about this multiplayer online first person shooter more and more.  Right now I’m salivating at the mouth as I type this to go home and play online with my friends.  It’s an incredible feeling to saddle up in a tank with your squadmates/buddies riding shotgun on the .50 cal and traipse through checkpoint after checkpoint annihilating everything in your path, or sniping someone from a mile out.

Plus, with the so-called “mapathy” disease spreading around where people are tired of playing on the same multi-player maps, Infinity Ward is set to release new DLC maps for a scant $15 dollars.  Battlefield: Bad Company 2? Yep, they have a cure for “mapathy” as well, and what do you know? It’s free (you have to have bought a new release copy of the game). Also, it comes out the exact same day as MW2’s map pack.  Hmmmm, I see a competition here, but I gotta hand it to Battlefield for going up against one of the biggest franchises in gaming history.

I don’t mean to get down on Modern Warfare 2, it’s a great game and a solid multi-player (when it works), but I’ve got to hand it to EA for riding the Modern Warfare 2 wave and picking it up right as Infinity Ward sent it crashing into the sand.  Both EA and DICE fully planned the Bad Company 2 release out to the “t”, and they couldn’t have planned the release more perfectly.  They are picking up all of those frustrated Modern Warfare 2 gamers out there jumping ship.  I’m one of them.  Are you?  Tell me what you think in the comments.
