I haven&#39;t blogged in a few weeks and I want you to know why.  As of last week Thursday, my husband and I found out that we are going to be having a new addition to our family.  That&#39;s right, you read it correctly, I am pregnant. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have been feeling very sick lately and very very tired but it&#39;s ok. The baby is due sometime in February or March, so my husband and I will be preparing for this, including moving to a different house. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now I am extremely excited, however, this does mean that instead of losing a bunch of weight by December now, I will be gaining.  I will still continue to blog here and keep you updated on my progress, but I won&#39;t be continuing Lose For The Fuse until after the baby is born. I haven&#39;t blogged in forever, I&#39;m totally sorry about that.  I have been away on tour and so on.  Anyway, not a good excuse I know...I&#39;m just letting you know what&#39;s going on lately.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All last week and the week prior to that I was on tour with our band (the John Denley band) in South Dakota. We played some shows in Rapid City, Black Hawk and a really sweek camp out there.  It was an amazing time. God moved in so many ways.  But not only was it an amazing time with the Lord, I did amazing with my eating and keeping active.  I lost actually a lot of weight while I was out there, but then coming back into the swing of things here again I gained a few pounds, however, I am still down one! yay!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I need to work more on being active.  I&#39;ve been working more hours at work lately so it has been difficult to convince myself to workout...but it needs to be done. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So the workout thing and drinking enough water are my goals for this week.  My water intake hasn&#39;t been good lately, so I&#39;m going to get back on track with that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thanks for your support and encouragement. That makes me 18 pounds down, which to me, is practically 20.  It really helps that my brother and sister are both health freaks right now, then when I go to my cottage (like this past weekend) I don&#39;t have problems with eating healthy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Another thing that has been really nice is all this remodeling going on at the station.  In fact, that is why I forgot to blog last week...we remodeled here all that weekend and even into that week.  Anyway, I have been working like crazy, painting and, well...mostly painting.  Which is really nice because I love to paint.  So, I have been getting my share of exercise this week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This week will be another work week, so I shouldn&#39;t have a problem with the exercise.  I have been finding lately, however, is that when I work more at the station, I tend to eat less because I totally forget and lose track of time. I have been keeping heavy track of what I eat on sparkpeople.com (if you haven&#39;t checked out that website, and you are trying to lose weight, I highly recommend it...it has changed my life).  It takes dedication, but it is well worth it.  I count out my chips if I eat them and measure everything so I can keep track.  I don&#39;t know about you, but I have to measure things out, at least for now, because my eyes disagree with me as to what a normal portion of food looks like.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So yes, this week has been good and hard.  Josh and I have been walking/working out everyday (including the weekend) and there were a couple times there were opportunities for me to eat pizza and I didn&#39;t.  This first time was supper hard, but then when I didn&#39;t eat any I was proud of myself so then when the second time came it was a bit easier.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, again, like I say every week, none of this would be possible without the support of my wonderful husband, my family, Scott and you!  When you read my blogs and even let me know that you are supporting me in your prayers and thoughts, it is unbelievably encouraging. It has helped me get my eating under control, keep track of all my calories and keep track of how much I&#39;m working out and how many calories I&#39;m burning.  Also, if you have that one or two people that encourage you all the way through and stick by you through thick and thin (no pun intended) that is priceless.  My husband and my sister have been that for me and I tell you what, I don&#39;t know where I would be without them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, if I can tell you anything...keep track of what you are eating. I just have to say that I&#39;m sorry for not blogging last Monday, I totally forgot in the midst of FunDrive.  That is the fundraiser we have here at the station and that week is totally crazy! That being said, here is my update this week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I gained a pound after FunDrive. Boo! But, I think I did pretty well considering I didn&#39;t eat the sweets.  I think the part that killed the diet was the portions.  I tell you what, if there is anything that kills my new way of healthiness, is my portions are still way too big.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But there is a glimmer of light here.  During the FunDrive this week, I met a very nice lady named Christine Wiggins.  She gave me an awesome chart thing to count calories per meal so I can limit my portions. Last week was a discouraging one.  Not because I didn&#39;t lose any weight, I did.  But because I feel like I&#39;ve fallen off the wagon as far as energy goes.  Last week I was sick all week with the stuffy nose and headaches.  So this was my week, I woke up at 4 a.m. went to work, came home and took a nap, was awake for a hour and then would go to bed.  I would do the same thing day after day last week.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, I&#39;m feeling a lot better this week than last.  I know a lot of my loss of energy is in part due to the fact that I&#39;ve been really stressed out lately.  I know that stress can keep a body from losing weight and that in turn would make me more stressed.  Sometimes I feel like, because everyone is watching, when I stay the same or go up a pound I let a lot of people down.  But that&#39;s not it at all and I see that now.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&#39;m back on the wagon now, and I know I can&#39;t do this on my strength alone.  That is why I keep this blog. I lost about a half of a pound this week.  I was almost for sure that I would gain after Easter, but I did really good on Easter. I think I&#39;ve come across something that works.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since I wake up at 4:00 a.m. I eat breakfast around 6ish, and apple at 9ish and then lunch around noon.  I take vitamines and exercise daily and I also do cardio three days a week with muscle work two days a week between the cardio days.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, because I go to be early in the evenings, I don&#39;t eat anything past 4:00 p.m., that way, my body has time to burn the food I&#39;ve eaten during the day before I go to bed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Again, this wouldn&#39;t be anything without all of your encouragement and support. I have to say, I&#39;m getting frustrated that the scale is not reflecting how hard I&#39;m working. I would throw in the towel and go back to my old life of laziness and binge eating. My portions are going to be even smaller.  I cut my portions when I started this, but I don&#39;t think I cut them enough.  So, I will be cutting them smaller.  Also, I am going to weigh myself every day.  I read in a magazine (and had someone tell me) that you can lose twice the weight if you weigh yourself every day.  That way you can keep track of your progress throughout the week. I did really well with my eating this week, so I must admit, when I stepped on the scale this morning and saw that I was a pound up, I was a little disappointed.  But then I realized there is still a lot that can be changed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My eating went very well this week.  I ate small portions, good food and I didn&#39;t cheat even one time.  I think because I did so well my very first week, I expected that to last for a while.  The good thing here, is that I&#39;m still on track with my weight loss...averaging about 2lbs a week so far.  Here are my new goals for this next upcoming week:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1) NO EATING LUNCH BEFORE NAPS: Because I get up so early for the Morning Show, sometimes I take naps in the afternoon.  Eating lunch before them is not a good idea because then I&#39;m just sleeping on a full stomach.  Now before naps I am going to eat a piece of fruit and drink water, then have lunch when I wake up.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2) DRINK MORE WATER:  This one is huge.  I do drink a lot of water during the day, but not enough.  This week I am going to try to drink at least 1 gallon (128 oz) of water a day. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3) EAT MORE FRUIT AND VEGGIES:  I have been eating a lot of salads lately, but this past week I haven&#39;t eaten much fruit.   For some reason, it never comes to mind to eat, so I am going to force it into my eating habits, along with more veggies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4)RELIEVE STRESS:  I have been pretty stressed lately...not gonna lie.  With the recent passing of my cousin and other things going on around me, I have not been doing a very good job of keeping my stress level down.  But this week I will be making daily goals and using some stress relief techniques such as stretching in the morning, take deep breaths when I start to wonder, focus on the positive and keep Jesus the center of everything I do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5) EXERCISE:  Last, but not least by any means.  I did a very little bit this past week, but nowhere near enough.  I am waiting my my &lt;span style=&quot;font-style: italic;&quot;&gt;Hip Hop Abs&lt;/span&gt; videos.  I am way excited to learn to dance by the way.  However, I haven&#39;t been exercising while I&#39;m waiting for them to come. It was really encouraging to step on the scale on Friday and see that I&#39;ve lost 6lbs!  Some would contest I cheated because I got the flu, but that didn&#39;t help that much. What did help was the fact that I started to eat better, more meals and started drinking more water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I eat something warm for breakfast, like oatmeal, with an apple and then another apple around 10.  I have been eating soup, salads or a sandwich for lunch around noon.  I have been making sure to include salads and veggies because those are great for you.  I will usually have a small snack like a piece of fruit around 3 or 4ish.  Then for dinner I will have a well portioned meal with a good ration of veggies.  One thing I keep in mind is STAY AWAY FROM SUGARY SWEETS!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One thing that has helped a lot is a cook book that my wonderful mom gave me for Christmas.  It&#39;s called &lt;span style=&quot;font-style: italic;&quot;&gt;Deceptively Delicious&lt;/span&gt;.  It&#39;s a totally sweet because it shows you how to put healthy foods like spinach in everyday foods, without being able to taste it.  Let me tell ya, it&#39;s a great book.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We shall see how this next week goes, I&#39;m starting to add exercise to the mix.  I&#39;m way excited...I feel like I&#39;m doing the whole Rocky on the stairs thing when I step on the scale.
