<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Client: </strong>Uniforms &#8220;R&#8221; Us<br><strong>Task: </strong>Design Store Site</h4>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">E-commerce is always an interesting concept. Not one site is the same. That is what makes this case study and the upcoming one fun to do. When tasked with a site for Uniforms &#8220;R&#8221; Us, I was under the expression that store websites would be simple. Boy, was I wrong! </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I believe I went back to the drawing board about 6 times until I settled on the process and concept that I felt comfortable presenting. Once the initial pitch was solid, it was a matter of rolling into the store. Uniforms &#8220;R&#8221; Us has a Square background for the brick-and-mortar, which means we would need some integration. Thankfully, WooCmmerce and Square integrate very well. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The design concept was open-ended, allowing some creativity. Elementor was the <a href="https://www.losevolution.com/page-builders-must-stay-updated-5-things-it-avoids/">page builder</a> of choice, allowing ease, creative freedom, and control. With the site on WordPress, we thought about utilizing the current template or creating a new structure. We used WooCommerce with Square, Klarna, and Afterpay integration to allow appropriate payment options.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We will continue the site buildout of Uniforms &#8220;R&#8221; Us to encompass <a href="https://hospitals.uniformsrusms.com">hospital</a> scrubs and other medical attire.</p>

When implementing GA, users have options to choose Universal Analytics (UA) or Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Ease of setup has pushed users towards UA, due to apps having it built in. July 2023 will mark a mandated switch to GA4.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Universal Analytics was built for a generation of online measurement that was anchored in the desktop web, independent sessions, and more easily observable data from cookies. This measurement methodology is quickly becoming obsolete. Meanwhile, Google Analytics 4 operates across platforms, does not rely exclusively on cookies, and uses an event-based data model to deliver user-centric measurement.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And though Universal Analytics offers a variety of privacy controls, Google Analytics 4 is designed with privacy at its core to provide a better experience for both our customers and their users. It helps businesses meet evolving needs and user expectations, with more comprehensive and granular controls for data collection and usage. Importantly, Google Analytics 4 will also no longer store IP addresses. These solutions and controls are especially necessary for today’s international data privacy landscape, where users are increasingly expecting more privacy protections and control over their data.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://measureschool.com/google-analytics-4/">MeasureSchool</a> wrote a very detailed article on the change. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Health providers usually offer services, so the best way to entice people to purchase their services is to show that they work. One way to do this is to share feedback from other patients. Forrest General Hospital, which is based here in Mississippi, does this by sharing patient testimonies on its website and social media platforms, highlighting the effectiveness of its medical services, and communicating its reputation to the public.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">To create a strong brand online, these medical institutions sometimes publish blog posts on their websites to show off their expertise. Indian-based healthcare provider CARE Hospitals is a very good example of this. Their blog posts also allow their website to rank higher on Google, which many locals turn to for health-related answers. Plus, Google just happens to be the <a href="https://ugwire.com/most-visited-websites-india/">most visited website in the country</a>, increasing its visibility.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Fans are usually a major part of a sports team’s success. They pay to watch games, buy merchandise, and provide overall support. <a href="https://online.maryville.edu/blog/social-media-and-sports/">The sports industry often uses social media</a> to interact with its fans and promote teams. A great example is how Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo uses his Instagram account to rally support for his team, Manchester United. He posts photos of training days, on-field action, and bits from his personal life to keep fans engaged as well as to promote his many brands and endorsement deals.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Sports events also do a lot of digital marketing, especially when they&#8217;re aiming to sell thousands of tickets online. In 2016, the Paralympics, which is the biggest sporting event for athletes with disabilities, once invited people to watch their Brazil-wide torch relay online via YouTube. It has inspired a lot of people, even those who have never heard of the event, to watch the actual games online via platforms that provided access, such as NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app.</p>

However, it&#8217;s possible to make them crave them by taking beautiful food pictures and posting them on social media platforms like Instagram. Modern Market is a US-based eatery that serves nutritious food that people usually assume is bland. To combat this image, they post visually stunning photos of their dishes created with fresh-looking ingredients to make them look appetizing.</p>

Philadelphia-based restaurant White Dog does this often by inviting people to take part in their virtual cocktail mixing sessions.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are plenty of ways to market a school; it just depends on the aspects the people in charge would like to highlight. For example, Trinity-Pawling, an all-boys school in New York, loves to show off how pretty its campus is by uploading drone shots of the area.</p>

This refers to a type of digital marketing strategy that matches the content of the platform where it appears, therefore <em>not</em> making it look paid at all! In 2017, UC Berkeley once published <a href="https://storystudio.sfgate.com/2017/01/26/10-ways-to-devise-a-strategy-that-will-unlock-your-career/">a sponsored post</a> in the San Francisco Chronicle to increase awareness of their program offers. The article was framed as a career advice piece that contained multiple links to the school&#8217;s website.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Digital marketing has become more prominent at present, with different industries taking advantage of its reach and many applications. It has become effective in promoting modern products and services, which is why many use it and will continue to do so in the future.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This case study was done on a pro bono basis. Volunteering as the Director of Technology, special projects come up in many ways. For the <a href="https://gulfcoastiotas.iotaphitheta.org">Gulf Coast Region </a>of Iota Phi T<a href="https://www.iotaphitheta.org">heta Fraternity, Inc</a>., we had the opportunity to design a membership registration landing page and form. Their requirements were a website that was mobile-friendly and was based on the content management system WordPress.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The design concept was open-ended, allowing some creativity. Elementor was the <a href="https://www.losevolution.com/page-builders-must-stay-updated-5-things-it-avoids/">page builder</a> of choice, allowing ease, creative freedom, and control. With the site on WordPress, we gave some thought to utilizing the current template or creating a new structure. The <em>Landing Page</em> concept was the way to go, cosmetically.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We were required to capture pricing, payments, and registration information. Using WPForms as the plugin of choice allowed us to do it all in one section. Payments are captured through the integrated API.  We also notify reporters on registration by automatically capturing the data. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Page Builders can be a trend these days. You may have seen builders like SiteOrigin, Elementor, Brizy, and Divi. All are great, and all have their nuances, but they have one thing in common: They must be up-to-date.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I recently took on a large client that had a version of <a href="https://www.brizy.io">Brizy</a> that was about 20 versions behind. Believe me, when the update was done, it completely wrecked the site. Normally a 1-2 iteration of a page builder is expected, but once it gets above that, it is not fun for anyone. The client goes into a panic, and the new webmaster who wants to keep the water going will have a weekend headache. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Branding is not a one-stop hit and BOOM. It takes time, experimentation, and even a bit of luck to hit the sweet spot. Grab the people, keep the people, then convert. That can be a mantra, and several others may have other opinions. For me, it is a project with each marketing approach.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Right now, I am figuring out my personal brand with my social media approach. Below are the two choices that I am picking from when it comes to branding:</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The one on the left has the placement for quotes, questions, marketing call to action, etc, while promoting my Instagram handle and the brand. The one on the right has a bright eye-catching color and centers around the text. I post items around the LosEvolution brand, bible verses for each Wednesday and Sunday, and a few selfies/photos with family. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Branding Performance Approach</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Reach of the left post netted me 440 impressions with six actions taken. The one on the left was 436 impressions with two actions taken. The only promotion I have done is through my Facebook and Instagram stories. It is not 100% apples and oranges because the posts may not have come around the same time. Close, but I need to continue to expand the reach, and both are heading in the right direction. More tweaking and experimentation to come.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jump the Hurdle</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One way to jump it is to be consistent. Regardless of which way you take your posts, the one way I have jumped over this hurdle was being consistent with my posts. Do I post everyday? No. But I do have a 8-9pm CST timing where I release posts into the wild. Sundays, I target the crowd after church. Also, I hit the 4 outlets: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Maybe I will generate a crowd off Snapchat and TikTok. Who knows? I do know that each has a different niche and each requires experimentation to find the right branding approach.</p>
