NEWS: Just when you thought it was safe..

2025-03-26T10:19:00.004+00:00

Since social media has taken over the internet this website has been put on ice for a while. Lost entertainment has just been exclusively operating on instagram, eBay and Vinted over the past few years and is still going to this day.

I have relocated to the other side of the country but the old HQ is still locked away and has been recently cleared out ready for new stock.. the website is now active again and all of the old articles, reviews and content from the glory days is back in its original form..

NEW LOSTENTERTAINMENT ADDRESS AND WE’VE MOVED OVER TO EBAY

2021-05-13T16:31:00.000+01:00

We lost the lostentertainment.org domain last summer that we had for ten years due to a payment method not being updated and our domain was sold on instantly with no option to buy it back. The site is now www.lostentertainment.uk

Since starting the site over a decade ago the internet has changed MASSIVELY. We've now moved the online shop over exclusively to eBay. Before we had to list items and paypal buttons which was very time consuming and now paypal no longer offer the right services that we require to run on here. Not to mention having to use a PC to upload items.

The store is now over on ebay as- lostentertainmentuk

The shop is still active and site the same as it was and nothing has changed

Am taking orders for new art and custom toy commissions! If you are interested in having something made please get in touch via email by clicking here

LIFE STORIES: THE PLIERS ACCIDENT

2018-06-08T09:00:00.000+01:00

So here's something new I (K ROD) am doing on the site, writing about my life experiences growing up and maybe some of the crazy stuff that went on after.

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME

This is a true story which I have spoken about before on the site in a few separate articles and posts. It's the story of a dumbass kid wanting a wrestling figure and pair of pliers.

Many of my close friends know about this story and it's something that could have killed me so I think it needs to be documented. So without any further delay I give you the PLIERS ACCIDENT

So it's 1991 little K ROD is 7 years old and Hulkamania is runnin wild. I have been a wrestling fan and have been into everything that goes with it since I can remember.

1991 was the height of my wrestling love affair and it was around this time I was collecting the first series of WWF Hasbro toys. These things were a revelation and are still loved to this day. I had them all at the time apart from one..

Macho Man Randy Savage! Randy Savage was one of the greatest of all time and I don't think anyone can argue that and his action figure was equally as awesome. I had the other ten or so figures but this was the last one I needed. My parents had just divorced at the time and money was a bit tight at home, and plus I'd already had a lot of wrestling figures and a ring in a very short space of time.. so the answer was no.

Even though my mum said no I was not going to be stopped.. OOOHH YEAH

The next day at school I sat there and had a revelation after hearing one of my mates saying he'd received £5 from the tooth fairy. I had a wobbly tooth at the time but it wasn't quite ready yet if only I could find a way of easing it out, getting a fiver and buying the action figure. He who dares and all that..

Back in class I was going through the toy boxes seeing if there was anything I could use to get my tooth out. After going through all the lego and other crap I found a mini pair of pliers and that was all I needed. I put em down me Batman underpants and took them home with me.

Back home my mum was at work and I was being looked after by my older teenage sisters at the time. I went in the living room pulled the pliers out and got on the sofa, laid down and started to try and prize my tooth out and..

I SWALLOWED THE PLIERS!!!!!!!!!!

As I was laying down I somehow managed to drop the pliers down my throat where they got lodged. I tired calling my sisters for help but just gargled as the pliers stuck. The came running along to help and I was pointing to my mouth that I was choking to death.

They grabbed my by my feet and hung me upside and shook me with my sister Michelle shouting "I CAN SEE IT" with that I got up to my feet and swallowed them like a tablet. I looked at them and said "gone" with much relief.

My mum came home immediately to see if I was ok and I felt fine which I did. I'd had a near death experience with a pair of pliers and won I was King Kong that day!

Later on My dad came home that night to collect some things and when I told him he just said "oh well.. they'regonna come out of your arse" and left. His words didn't comfort me much I'm not gonna lie.

The next few days were very stressful indeed. Imagine being 7 at school wondering when this metal tool is gonna come out your backside and not just that.. which way round. My singing in assembly wasn't up to par that week let me tell you that! I just held it in and hoped for the best.

A few days passed and after holding it in I passed an oily loaf which made the sound of metal clunk in the toilet. I managed to pass them closed with no trouble at all. We got a coat hanger got them out and disinfected the shit out of them literally. My mum cried when she saw how big the pliers were as she thought they were ones from an action figure or something. She also went out and got me Randy Savage as well seeing as I'd earned it,

I still have the pliers and the toy to this day.

Till next time

COMICS: INTERGALACTIC GLADIATORS WITH FORWARD BY K ROD (EXCLUSIVE FIRST ISSUE FREE TO READ HERE)

FORWARD BY K-ROD

So here it is.. my first ever comic book. It all started with me a long time ago when I first ever picked up a pencil and discovered comic books. I always wanted to be a comic book maker and have been drawing them most of my life. I have made short violent stories, comedy satire and even made graphic novels in recent years using photos of action figures online for Lost Entertainment. However that wasn't enough and I've always thought the ultimate was to have a 30 plus page made up of my stories and drawings. I've always been put off by the amount of time and effort that would go into such a project and it's one of those things I put to one side forever like most people who dream of taking in such a big project but know they have it in them.

Working in the industry of illustration and comic books it's something I've always been told to do and something I have subconsciously told my self to do for a long time. Last year I decided as a new years resolution to make my first comic.. but what about?

KROD photo courtesy of Chris Pearce photography

As many of you know outside of Lost Entertainment I am an the former professional wrestler known as K-ROD the Colombian bad guy from Wrestleforce, London Lucha League and Lucha Britannia. I trained and performed with the London School of Lucha Libre for around 8 years. It was here where trainers Greg Burridge and Garry Vanderhorne taught me not only the art of professional wrestling but the art of story telling and wrestling psychology. With all this in mind it was a no brainer what my first comic book was going to be about.

I got to work right away drawing up characters and writing up bios as well as a universe for everything to unfold in. The comic takes place in another galaxy with a wrestling ring that flies on a gravity plate with laser ropes. I spent a few weeks referencing old WWE wrestling tapes, video games and bootleg action figures before embarking on my quest. Upon taking up the project and deciding to do the entire thing alone, I was told by many that doing such a huge project was possible but I would go through hell in the process.. it's a good job I enjoy hell.

After 4 months of writing, penciling, inking, coloring, editing and becoming a general recluse that only operated in vampire hours Intergalactic Gladiators is here. A comic about aliens wrestling in space made by an ex pro wrestler. I am releasing it today for free on Lost Entertainment as I want my work to be viewed by EVERYONE around the world. The book will be making it's way to shops and if it does well enough and there's a demand I will make more. So world here is KROD's gift to you..

COMICS: BROCK VERSUS ROCK II

2017-04-22T02:56:00.000+01:00

Introduction by K ROD

Brock Versus Rock was a small project I made a short while ago. It was something I made and edited in one day using an ipad camera, a toy UFC octagon and 3 action figures. The first fight was just a test project to see what was possible and what would happen if Rocky stepped in the octagon and seeing as I had a new Brock Lesnar figure it was a no brainer.

After the first fight many people enjoyed it but the same amount were upset about a few things, mainly the outcome of the fight. I had a feeling this might happen thats why I set up the sequel just in case. Enough people saw the first fight and seeing as it got people talking I made sure the rematch was everything the first fight wasn't. The first fight had no back story we just went straight in and it was a short affair. This time round we have gone to 60 plus pages of story and action.

As well as adding many characters into the fold I built a few mini locations from scratch such as a bar, a wrestling gym, streets and the awesome arena where the fight takes place.

This has been a passion project which I have worked on in the evenings and has taken a couple of months to finish. If you enjoy this story share this post with your friends and be sure to check out my other toy stories in the comics tab above. Also the referee figure is an action figure of K ROD made by Tom Daines at Fallen Models

THE ARGOS SPRING SUMMER 1993 CATALOG

2016-07-28T15:52:00.001+01:00

Seeing as its the summer season I thought it would be great to take a look at the 1993 spring/summer Argos catalog. I really wanted to review the 1996 one but this was the closest I could get my hands on. I have only chosen pages of interest and not done the whole book like I did for the 1985 one. So lets indulge.

Nothing says summer more than Super Soakers! Super Soaker water pistols were a breath of fresh air (well high powered blasts of water) in the early 90's. The real appeal of these water guns was the fact that these guns actually hurt a bit instead of just getting people wet. The pump action one was a great addition to my collection of stuff to annoy my sisters with.

These are outdoor houses and slides. What caught my attention on this page was Quadro something I forgot existed and I am not sure if it even still does. Quadro was a construction toy where the possibilities were endless in a Lego fashion using plastic red scaffold pipes and tiles. Quardo was extremely expensive and most kids only got to play with this at school. The materials were strong as hell and I remember we made a stage for a school play once using Quardo and it was strong enough to carry the weight of the entire school pupils and staff. There was also a smaller scaled version also.

This may look like a page of out dated scientific calculators but these are also 1990's school status pieces. Now days kids have iphones and whatnot to be competitive about but in my day.. it was scientific calculators. The more buttons your calculator had at school meant the more it cost, and the more it cost the more awesome you were. I had one with quite a few buttons and I'm sure I never used any of them. I got expelled during my maths lesson.. it was never my thing. Neither was school either!

Kids had scientific calculators and yuppies had electronic personal organizers as status pieces. These bad boys could save phone numbers, addresses, plan dates and that's about it. Looking back these things were a complete waste of money and had all the usefulness of a broken Nokia phone.

These are some portable TV's which were very handy for holidays and bringing to school when England were playing back in the day. The hand held ones were super expensive and although they did work to a degree getting them to tune in was a pain in the arse and they only really worked in a stationary position. Trying to watch a hand held one in a car journey was very hit and miss due to signal loss. I got one for Christmas in 1992.

Here is a page of VHS video tapes from 1993. Not really much to choose from here unless you like kids TV shows, Del boy and wanking off to Cindy Crawford fitness videos.

This is a page with all the bog standard musical instruments. These were the first guitars alot of people owned growing up so I'm sure alot of you may have sentimental memories of some of this. The main reason this page struck my attention was the girl modelling the Karaoke set. She looks like a right pratt and you can tell she has a terrible voice. I know you cant tell just by a photo but a picture says a thousand words and this one says a thousand bad ones.

OK now we hit my favorite part of the book.. TOYS! So on this page we have the WWF Hasbro action figures which were still going strong at this point. The ring was the second version which had black ring posts and a sound effects board which sounded horrendous. The WCW ring was one of the biggest disappointments of my childhood and was a terribly put together toy which fell apart within days. The sets of Monster in my Pocket and mini Boglins were cool but didnt become very collectible until they became available for free in cereal boxes a year or so later. The Britains farm and castle were solid toy play-sets which survived almost 2 decades in the catalogs and toy stores. The Talking Dinosaurs plushy is something I would love to have in my current collection of crap from the 90's!

James Bond Jr was something I wasn't really a fan of when I was a kid. I loved James Bond and the closest thing I had to an action figure of him was the Corgi Aston Martin. Although I didn't like the show the action figures were pretty awesome and had their own actions and cool accessories. The Spider-man stuff was in actual fact part of the Toybiz line of Marvel Super heroes which was an amazing set of toys. I am guessing here that Argos decided that Spider-man was the only marketable toy from the set so they only sold his figure and vehicle. I had the Spider-man dress up suit but my miserable, strict, shit cunt of a primary school teacher Mrs Trim took it off me and never gave it back! Mighty Max is something I have written in great detail about before on here and they were awesome hand held play-sets for boys who loved horror and hated Polly Pocket. The talking Kevin from Home Alone doll is another toy I have written about in great detail before on Lost Entertainment. I may have to stop writing about toys as I have nearly exhausted them all.

Thunderbirds had a massive comeback in 1993 and they became one of the top selling toys in the action figures and play-sets department. Although Tracy island was reasonably priced for a leading playset alot of families still couldn't afford it and had to resort to making their own via instructions from Blue Peter. The Superman Costume was another sad day for me which I will relive now briefly. Basically when I was 4 I really wanted this costume so bad. The main reason I wanted it, was because I genuinely thought by putting the costume on I would become Superman and would be able to fly away and do loads of awesome shit. My mum ordered it from the Freemans catalog and I had to wait weeks for it to arrive. When it did I put it on and stood on the edge of the sofa with the window open and my arms out stretched and... Nothing. I cried my eyes out and have had a very dark outlook on life ever since. A big part of me died that day.. I don't know what part though but it was big.

The Terminator 2 Kenner action figures will always have a special place in my heart and I still have many of these to this day. These toys were just plain badass and the fact they were still hot sellers 2 years after the movie was made is just a testament to how great they were. The bioflesh re-generator was an anti climax as you could only make one naked Terminator at a time. I had visions of making loads of Terminator figures and selling them off at school. As you tell by now I was a fucking idiot as a kid and looked way too much into the capabilities of toys and costumes from Argos. The Batman stuff was still going strong considering the movies were a few years old at this point. Good toys were good toys back in the day and their shelf life was much more prolonged. Now days summer movie figures are long dead by Christmas.

The Crash Dummies were a nice little gem from the mid 90s which were huge and then disappeared into obscurity as quick as they became popular. They were a cool concept which also had its own animated show and video games. The figures and vehicles all exploded into bits on impact only to be snapped back together. Hours of fun indeed. The Action men in the bottom right hand corner were actually anniversary editions of GI Joe figures and are super awesome.

I have reviewed a few of these games before including the awesome Atmosfear but I just wanted to turn your attention to the Crystal Maze game. I remember this being so awesome and I need a copy bad if anyone wants to donate to me.

So here we have some watches that have LCD video games installed on them. These games were the worst things ever made and even Satan himself would shy away in sheer terror if forced to play one on a long drive across England. Battleship is a solid champ when it comes to table top gaming I never played the V Tech one so I cant comment. Electronic chess games are mental. You can play against this tiny machine which at a certain difficulty you can never win. This is awesome for kids or people that never have anyone to play chess with.. If they ever make a version for wanking I will never go out again!

This is a whole page of LCD games. LCD games were the worst unplayable things ever made. The only thing these games have to with the associated product is the sticker and the box. You would probably have more fun rubbing turds together in a hot car than trying to play one of these things during a road trip! That being said these things are highly collectible especially boxed.

The Super Nintendo now we are talking!!! All the games on this page were pretty solid minus Home Alone which was so bad being left alone aged nine and burgled in real life would be more enjoyable. The Super Scope was a cool gimmick but apart from the cartridge that came with it and Terminator 2: The arcade game were the only things worth using it for.

At this point the Nintendo Entertainment system was well on its last legs but Super Mario Bros 3 had pumped 2 years worth of life into it. Like I said though the console was dying and the age of the 16 bit was well in force. Minus Mario 3 all these games were horrendously bad even back then and haven't aged well either.

Here have the Nintendo Game Boy which maybe my favorite hand held console from back in the day. Great games on a horribly colored green screen with no back light to boot. My mum must have spent hundreds on batteries in the early 90s for this thing. I had the magnifying glass for it but my main memory of this was a kid used it to burn a slug to death in Marshalls park in Romford when I was 9.

The Sega Game Gear is something I have on the wall boxed here at Lost Entertainment. Some days I prefer it over the Game Boy. It was in colour and had a backlight so in that department it kicked the Game Boys arse. I never had a V-Tech painter was something I wanted but I ended up getting MS Paint so never needed it. The Atari 2600 was still hanging in there at £31.99 which is pretty amazing considering what year this was and what else was going on in the world of video gaming. The Commadore was a cool computer for its time but was the middle between a Master System and a Super Nintendo with a keyboard.

So here we have the Sega Megadrive selection. The Megadrive is one of my favourite consoles ever and will always have a place in my heart and my gaming collection. Some solid games here minus Home Alone AGAIN. The gun was pretty useless as there were only a handful of shooting games on Geneisis and most of them sucked. The Game Genie was awesome and something I hope they make for updated consoles so we can cheat and mod again. The Megadrive also had snap on add ons which as well as making the console look hideous, also needed extra power points for them which was a real pain in the arse. By the end they wanted your console to resemble Megatron from Transformers with all the snap on shit they were bringing out.

Finally we have page dedicated to stupid yuppy gadget toys like stress balls and mini punch bags. I thought growing up that men in office towers just practiced putting golf balls all day and squeezed stress balls. The truth of it is.. that is exactly whats happening and the main reason the world is so fucked up now. Have a nice day!

GAMING: GRAND THEFT AUTO

2016-01-27T13:24:00.003+00:00

As this game recently turned 18 years old I decided to give it a write up. I find it amusing (and at the same time horrifying) that Grand Theft Auto is old enough to go into a UK game shop and buy its self now.

So Christmas 1997 I was getting Playstation one games as gifts. I had heard everyone at high school say that this crazy violent driving game was out, which had tons of violence involved. When I picked up the game in store and looked at the back for screen shots, the graphics looked like Super Nintendo quality and I didn't like the idea of playing a top down video game in 1997 on a 32-bit console. I chose the Duke Nukem 3d (a game I already had and loved on PC) Playstation port instead. Duke Nukem sucked and was a terrible port and to this day one of my biggest shopping regrets ever. Not long after I rented Grand Theft Auto from Vidbiz in Collier Row and ended up doing so all the time throughout 1998.

So Grand Theft Auto is a video game where you take the role of a two bit criminal who makes his way up the criminal ladder by taking jobs given out by payphones. These jobs range from bank heists, bombings, drug deals, murders and many more dark deeds. Another way of completing Grand Theft Auto was by scoring points by raising as much hell as possible. Due to this feature the game was one of the first ever sandbox type games where you could explore the world at your own leisure. It was this type of freedom that set apart this game from other adult titles where the games brutality and violence was really down to the players own aggression or mood.

The game was very large in terms of maps which had 3 giant cities for you to explore and cause as much havoc as possible. The game was full of lots of different cars and bikes which all handled differently and had different music tracks for radio stations. The game also had a good variety of weapons ranging from a standard pistol to a rocket launcher.

The game also featured secret missions and mini games including Kill Frenzy which once activated the player scored points by committing the most murders as possible in the allotted time. Another odd points bonus would occur if you managed to wipe out a straight line of Buddhist pedestrians with a vehicle.

Although the game had decent driving mechanics and giant maps with unlimited freedom, the game did suffer from terrible combat mechanics. Being a top down game made accurate shooting extremely difficult in combat situations. The player can only shoot in the direction he is facing and it takes a fraction of time to turn him in that direction. So blowing up cars and non aggressive NPCs is no problem but when facing an aggressive element such as police and other enemies, its very difficult and they are always very accurate when it comes to shooting you. Unless you have armor equipped you will die in one shot.

The police in the very first Grand Theft Auto are as cheap as hell and literally turn up the second you commit a crime and turn up in force. Their AI is very simple- to destroy you and keep re-spawning at any cost. The only way to shift them is by collecting stars strategically placed around the map or completing the current mission. Another thing which hasn't aged well at all is the mission structure. Once you are on a mission that's it! if you die or fail you will never be able to retry it unless you power off your console. There was a saving option bu this was only available after completing each map.

Another thing which has not aged well at all is the navigational system of the game. The game sports 3 giant maps of Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas but without a map on the pause menu, all we had to go on was the giant printed map which came with the game manual (which most people lost) to navigate your way round. There was an arrow which pointed from your car to indicate which way to go but it wasn't much use if you were stuck on the wrong side of the map making a 20 minute mission into a 3 hour road trip.

Minus the above mentioned flaws of Grand Theft Auto its still a great game to play and something which can be mastered and learned by spending countless hours playing and learning. The freedom it gave us and the fact we could bring out the sociopath in all of us just by playing a top down driving simulator was what made it stand alone when it came to videos games from back then. This is also what made the game one of (if not THE) most controversial video game titles of all time. Like always liberal douche bags were using the title as a scapegoat to blame all of Americas social problems on at the time. Another game which got blamed for violence and crime among young people. My take has always been that if kids were playing at home on their Playstations then how could they be out stealing cars and stabbing nuns? .. Oh yeah.

One day if someone starts crucifying and stoning people to death in the streets after reading the bible.. will they ban that?

Grand Theft Auto had another 2 top down sequels (one of which a London expansion pack) and made the jump from 2d to 3d in 2001 with GTA III and now the franchise is the biggest selling game of all time.

Grand Theft Auto is up there with Super Mario when it comes to the most innovative and important video games, but unlike Mario.. this one has not aged well at all.

TELEVISION: GHOSTWATCH 1992

2015-09-23T15:15:00.000+01:00

So here we have Ghostwatch, the innovative yet oh so controversial BBC drama which aired on BBC1 on Halloween night 1992.

Ghostwatch was a fourth wall breaking television program about a live investigation into a haunted house in the suburbs of North London. A mother and her two daughters have been plagued by violent poltergeist activity which is destroying their home and ultimately.. their family.

Each month UK residents scare them selves shitless with a BBC program titled Crimewatch. Crimewatch is a live phone in show which also features reconstructions of all the robberies and rapes which have happened in the last month or so. The show claims that it broadcasts this kind of thing to gain public information to solve crimes, but I believe the real reason is to scare people shitless with real life horror and to get ratings.

Using a similar formula Ghostwatch was filmed "live" from the BBC studios hosted by Michael Parkinson, Mike Smith and a paranormal investigator. Throughout the night they would take calls from the general public and go back to the cameras at the haunted house via satellite.

Back at the house we have everyone's favorite crack smoking space traveler Craig Charles and Sarah Greene from Blue Peter, in the trenches with the freaked out family. We are shown all of the gadgets and equipment for the first few minutes of the show. The team have all sorts of audio equipment, a BBC TV truck, cameras. temperature detectors and even thermal vision to make sure that the team don't miss a thing that may go bump in the night.

The show goes back and fourth from the house to the BBC studio, analyzing old footage shown at the top of the show where callers could phone in and report things they have seen during the course of the show. Back at the house one of the young girls shows Sarah Greene a boarded up door under the stairs where "Mr Pipes" lives.

For the first hour or so is a series of fake scares and non events at the house. Things start to get quite horrific very quickly, with grotesque ghostly apparitions start to appear, lots of unnerving poltergeist activity and one of the young girls appears to have become possessed with cuts appearing all over her face.

After lots of back and fourth from the house to the studio, to interviews with the locals, a caller calls into the studio with some horrific history about the house. Turns out Mr Pipes was a pedophile who lived in the house decades before, and committed suicide under the stairs due to being possessed him self by the ghost of a woman. From there the program takes us on an amazing ride of fear to an ultimate climax which left most of the country who watched it very fucked up to say the least.

The public backlash and public outcry when the show went off the air, was one of the biggest in TV history. Although the program was a work of fiction a lot of people really got into it and took what they had just seen as actual fact. The makers of the show put up the general BBC hotline number throughout the show which played a recording telling them that the show was a work of fiction, but they could still share their thoughts on the paranormal. However due to the mass amount of people calling in the lines got jammed and no one could get through to hear the recording.

Another reason this show may have caused such confusion and terror was due to many people tuning in halfway through which also caused a lot of confusion as to wether the show was in fact drama or fiction?

The public outcry didn't stop there one family claimed their son had killed himself after watching the show and believing he can become a ghost. The BBC was inundated with calls and letters from people wanting blood from the shows creators for duping them into a sick Halloween hoax. I have always said that if you write into points of view or comment on more than one youtube video then you should be sentenced under the mental health act anyway so fuck them douche bags. I thought it was great, and as it goes I was upset that Sarah Greene didn't get fucked up and that Parky wasn't possessed by the ghost of a nonce in real life!

The main reason that Ghostwatch worked so well and affected so many was because of the fact it broke the fourth wall. Using real people we all know from TV, their real names and personalities, live feeds and of course the infamous phone number. Ghostwatch was filmed in such an innovative way that you couldn't help but believe it at the time, as nothing had been done before in this manner.

Although they used actors for the minor characters all of the BBC crew were people we all knew and trusted from TV and they played them selves which probably really freaked out anyone channel surfing at the time.

The makers of the show really got hammered and the BBC never repeated the show again and it is listed up there as one of the most controversial television programs of all time.

So did the creators intend to dupe the entire country into believing poltergeist activity was going on in their TV sets? Or was it an experimental drama which meant to cause no harm what so ever?

I believe that yes they wanted the reaction of people believing it was real but at the same time did not know the power of the piece of media they created. The show is designed to punch through the confines of BBC drama and put you there in the house with the horrific events happening at that very time "live" in the house. You have to remember that this was 1992 and horror was very much on its way out for a time. Everyone had become immune to the scares of the screen and most horror franchises were aimed towards young boys and teenagers. We all know that the best way to scare someone with a ghost story is to make it real. Ghost stories are made real with real locations and people. Having "live" footage in a house in North London instead of a Gothic castle or mansion really hit home with people watching at home.

So yes I do believe that the reaction the show makers got was the reaction they intended but I am very sure that the makers didn't want to cause any harm or make anyone take their own life. Being a writer and an artist my self I love creating scary creations and stories which really punch terror into the hearts of my target audience and you have to find new and innovative ways to do so. So in that position myself I would have done the exact same thing.

Years later Ghostwatch would inspire an endless list of "found footage" horror movies filmed with normal hand held cameras making the program very historically significant in the world of horror. The makers of the Blair Witch Project studied the show before making their own very ground breaking film which also got a public backlash for being a hoax and a very sick joke. I thought it kicked ass but most of the found footage movies apart from about 4 are complete dogshit poor.

Ghostwatch was released on DVD some years ago and there are many versions of it online to stream. So if you want to really terrify everyone put this on at Halloween and say its real for ultimate effect.

MOVIES: THE BORDERLANDS

2015-09-18T14:04:00.000+01:00

(NOTE: NOT BE CONFUSED WITH THE 2007 MEXICAN CULT MOVIE BORDERLAND)

The Borderlands is a film which I have been recommended to watch for many months now, and I finally got round to it this week. I enjoyed the film so much that I watched it twice which I haven't done with a movie for years. If you are a fan of tales of the paranormal and adventure movies then this one is your front row seat to the ride.

So the movie is another 'found footage' horror but please don't let that put you off as its what makes the movie work so brilliantly. After strange reports about phenomena occurring at a rural British church, a team of investigators are sent in from the Vatican to see if it is a hoax. Armed with all the latest audio and camera gimmicks the team stay in the village for a few days to investigate these claims. What they ultimately find is truly terrifying which leads to a roller coaster finale of good versus evil.

Being a bit of a horror buff I have become immune to scares and shocks, and it takes something truly special to creep me out or even frighten me in the slightest, and this movie done its job. I guess the movie really resonated with me for a few reasons. One being it another found footage movie done well which is one of the most key aspects. Found footage is an amazing way of breaking the fourth wall and making you feel like you are experiencing the same horrors the characters in the film are because you are viewing it from their perspective. What this movie along with very few others does well is it explains why they are filming in this way and it also gives us a valid reason as to why the cameras are always on. This is where a lot of found footage movies don't work very well, as alot of the time people stand there filming their friends getting murdered for no reason which makes no sense to the viewer.

Another reason this movie really resonated with me was because of the areas I lived in as a child were very similar, with the remoteness and creepy local churches with pagan folklore whispered among the kids of the community.

The movie is very well paced and performed and even has some decent humor in there. There are many gems of dialogue and the story is a lot deeper when you watch it a second time round.

The movie makes great use of sound which works very well during the church scenes, the sounds of bells ringing and screaming babies stay with you in a very haunting way.

So my final thoughts are that this movie is the best horror film I have seen in a while and I found it truly, haunting, terrifying and very claustrophobic in parts. The movie may not be for everyone and a lot of people didn't like the ending (including myself but not now after a second watch I see what they were going for all along) but I thoroughly enjoyed this and would highly recommend this to anyone for Halloween night. The film really brings it back for British horror and brings us back to the old style setting of the Hammer Horror era, where we have the old church in the cursed village gimmick which is a vibe I really dig.

It has been a long time since I have had time to sit at a keyboard and actually post something on here. I have been extremely busy doing some awesome work in the past year which I will be sharing with you today. I am now back with a working laptop and will be posting more often with movie reviews and all that stuff that made the site popular in the first place. The store is currently down for maintenance at the moment as a lot of the items are sold out or are not being made any more. It will be back in time for Christmas. I am still taking horror based art commission orders for Halloween, and from now up until Halloween night I am doing them at a discounted price of £20. CHRISTMAS: K-ROD'S CHRISTMAS GIFTS THE 1993 EDITION

2014-12-10T14:21:00.001+00:00

Today I am casting my mind back to the Christmas of 1993. I remember lots about that year especially due to the fact that Jurassic Park opened it's gates and Hulkamania officially died. I remember certain songs and bits and pieces but the rest is a blur apart from.. my Christmas gifts. This was another sweet ass Christmas for me where the Santa list seemed to do the trick.

Like most kids in the UK at the time I was obsessed with owning a Super Nintendo and everything involving the Gladiators toys. Lets see what I got.

1: EVERYTHING INVOLVING THE GLADIATORS TOYS

Like I mentioned earlier Hulkamania was dead and unless you were a big fan of Yokozuna, Bret Hart or Ludvig Borga WWF just didn't cut it anymore. However what did cut it was another group of roided up men and women who battled it out every weekend on ITV (or London Weekend Television) the mighty Gladiators. Gladiators was an American concept which made its way to our television screens and made superstars out of the athletes who went out each week beating people up with padded sticks and tennis balls. The show was as huge for TV as the X factor is now netting millions of views from families up and down the country every Saturday night for over five years.

It came as no surprise that a toy line would be released of the Uk version, but the bigger surprise was the fact the toys were made by Hornby the most famous train set makers in history.

The playsets were really cool and the figures were clumpy little things that bared no resemblance to the real life counterpart apart from the fact they had the same clothes and had bulking muscles. The playsets were really cool and are something I will review more in depth at a later time. I got most of the figures and playsets for Christmas and the rest I got by saving coupons from Kellogs Frosties.

2: CLIFFHANGER VHS

Can't remember who bought me this but it was something I wanted. Under rated Stallone movie where a bloke who can climb mountains in next to nothing has to get a briefcase full of money for a bunch of well casted bad guys headed by 3rd Rock From the Sun's John Lithgow. Amazing stunts and the musical score is really good as well. I also loved the fact this movie had so many cuss words for a 15 certificate.

3: THE SUPER NINTENDO MARIO ALL STARS EDITION

So yeah this was my main present and I was over the moon to get it because money was tight at the time and my mum came through and bought me the latest console I needed. It came free with Mario all Stars which was the complete collection of Mario games from the NES upgraded to 16 bit with stereo sound. Although it was fun to play the games in this format I didn't really care much for replaying games I had been playing the past 3 years. Which brings me onto my next and last gift.

4: STREET FIGHTER II THE WORLD WARRIOR

Now this was what it was all about. The fighting game which was so good that it was released 3 more times on the same console and is still played to this day by freaks like me.. STREET FIGHTER II The World Warrior. Had any of us played Street Fighter one? No? Did it matter? NO! This game started the craze of beat em ups which is still alive and well today.

The first game only had 8 playable characters and the speed was a lot slower and more deliberate. Each year a new version of the game would be released with new costumes, characters, game speeds and a few new moves. As soon as this was opened my other presents seemed obsolete.

Thanks Santa (aka Mum) for another awesome Christmas.

MOVIES: THE EXORCIST III:LEGION

2014-10-29T14:48:00.003+00:00

Sorry for the lack of updates during the Halloween countdown this year. I have been very busy working around the clock finishing art projects and clothing products.

So last night I sat down and watched the Exorcist III for the first time in about ten years, and to be honest I was pretty blown away as I forgot how awesome this movie was for a sequel.

The second Exorcist movie was an absolute disaster and had little or nothing to do with the first film. This third movie however acts as a direct sequel to the original Exorcist.

The film is set 15 years after the first movie and is set in the same location. A spree of grizzly murders begin happening in George Town involving decapitations and other acts of a blasphemous nature. The killings very much resemble those of a serial killer known as the Gemini who was executed 15 years before.

A murder investigation leads to the mental ward of a hospital where Father Damian Karras (played by Jason Miller) is locked in a padded cell. Karras was the priest from the first movie who dived from Regan Mcneal's bedroom window after being possessed by the spirit which was inside the child he was trying to Exorcise. Karras survived the fall and is now still possessed by the demon and also the spirit of the Gemini killer. It's now time for one last Exorcism.

The Exorcist III is a top notch movie sequel and almost a decent movie on its own. I think the main reason for this is due to the fact the movie was written and directed by William Peter Blatty who penned the original Exorcist novel and worked very closely with Bill Friedkin on the first movie. Blatty walked out of a screening of the second movie in disgust. From what I know the production of this movie was a very troubled one and the movie was originally completed without Jason Miller. Miller was brought in after to fill the blanks and appeared in the jailhouse scenes.

There are some really good performances in this movie by all involved but especially Brad Dourif who was Oscar nominated for his supporting role in One Flew Over the Cuckoos nest and was also the voice of Chucky from the Child's Play franchise. Dourif plays the spirit of the Gemini killer which father Karras turns into while locked in the cell. His performance in this is very much like Heath Ledgers Joker in the Dark Knight.

Another spooky thing about the resemblance to Heath Ledgers joker and the Gemini killer is the fact one of the statues in the movie has the jokers head on it. There are lots of other cool little things I spotted in this one including Samuel L Jackson as an extra.

The Exorcist III is not better than the original but it does give us an extra story which carries on from the original and done really well which is what a good sequel is all about. This movie has alot more psychological stuff going on and far less of the shocking scenes the first movie had to offer. This film leaves alot more to the imagination of the viewer but still does have some very gory and shocking parts. The movie has a tremendous atmosphere and some top notch scares which are achieved by perfect atmospheric build ups and music. I could recommend watching this one as a stand alone film without watching the first movie but it works much better if you watch the original movie first. Avoid the second movie and the god awful prequel like the plague!

MOVIES: A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET

2014-10-08T18:01:00.000+01:00

ARTICLE AND ILLUSTRATION BY K-ROD

It has been 30 years since the release of Wes Craven's a Nightmare on Elm Street. With it being the countdown to Halloween here on Lost Entertainment and the anniversary of the movies release we will be taking a very in depth look at the movie that started it all.

The movie is about a notorious child killer called Freddy Krueger. Krueger who terrorized the American suburbs of Springwood by murdering dozens of the local children. When Krueger was apprehended by the police and he went to trial and was set free. This was due to a search warrant being signed in the wrong place at the time of his arrest.

After being set free angry parents took matters in to their own hands and burned Krueger to death inside his boiler room.

Years later the teenage children of Springwood start having nightmares about a burned creep with a fedora hat and knives for fingers. The teenagers are picked off one by one in their dreams and then die in real life. One girl the daughter of the local policeman who was involved in Kruegers killing (Nancy Thompson) decides she is going to fight back and take on Krueger for an ultimate confrontation.

For me Freddy Krueger is the ultimate movie monster. He's perverse, complex, creative, evil and just damned right disgusting. From his appearance, his back story and not to mention the ghoulish apparel which is topped off with a razor glove. The real life back story which created one of the most iconic characters in cinema history started from a couple of things which happened to the movies director and creator Wes Craven.

After reading an article in the New York Times about healthy Laotian refugees dying from what they believed were their own nightmares. Wes Craven was inspired and being the creative mind who put together the controversial horror movies such as The Last House on The Left and The Hills Have Eyes decided that this could be an awesome concept for a movie. Craven needed a villain for this project and needed a bloody good one. Craven based Freddy Krueger on a homeless man who he saw as a child through his bedroom window that scared him by looking at him. He also named the road Elm Street after the road where the President was shot in Dallas Texas.

The script went around Hollywood for a few years before being picked up by Bob Shay from New Line Studios. The studio had a few other minor titles under their belt but this movie would be their make or break project.

The movie has a great cast of actors including Johnny Depp in his feature film debut. The cast have a great chemistry and really pull it off when interacting with each other and Freddy Krueger on screen.

Freddy Krueger was played by Robert Englund who ended up playing him for the rest of the entire series of Nightmare on Elm street movies. Englund would sit through hours and hours of the most grueling and tiresome special effects and make up sessions. The special effects were created by David B Miller who worked alongside Rick Baker on Michael Jacksons Thriller (though he is uncredited).

Most of the budget for A Nightmare On Elm Street was spent on the special effects. The special effects in this movie are done so well and even look better than the CGI versions done recently. They used a rotating room to achieve many of the movies classic nightmare scenes. The scene in which Glen is pulled into his bed used over 500 gallons of fake blood. Lots of great camera trickery also play a part in some very well thought and clever scenes which still stand up to this day.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is hands down one of the greatest horror movies ever made. Being an 80's kid obsessed with Freddy Krueger I am a firm believer that he is the undisputed king of horror. He even beats Dracula. The fact Freddy Krueger is a serial killer who uses the dream realm as his habitat is the scariest thing about him. With a character like that the possibilities we endless and so were the sequels!

Growing up at the time the movies were still being released was awesome as hell. Freddy Krueger became the new boogeyman of the play ground. I remember telling all the other kids at primary school the story of Freddy Krueger and how he was going to get them all in their sleep. Great times.

I remember being scared out of my mind of him myself though. I remember watching the whole of the first movie on my own as a child with the lights out and it was the hardest and scariest thing I had ever done in my life up to that point. As the series went on he became a more humorous type character who you ended up cheering for to sort out these atrocious teenage actors instead of being terrified like you were in the first movie.

If you havent seen this movie then you suck! However you can redeem yourself and watch it and then thank me later. This is THE essential horror film that anyone needs to watch. It has good performances, visuals, story, music and not to mention FREDDY FUCKING KRUEGER!

If you have seen this movie before I suggest you re watch it as it's Halloween and it's the movies 30th birthday.

HALLOWEEN 2014 COUNTDOWN: GAMING: RESIDENT EVIL 2

2014-10-02T13:26:00.000+01:00

On April the 28th 1998 Resident Evil 2 was released on the Playstation 1. For me this was a big fucking deal as I was a huge fan of the first title. After playing the demo of the sequel in December 1997, I counted down the days to the release of Resident Evil 2.

The game was £50 which was fucking steep for a game back then and being only 14 getting hold of that kind of cash was pretty hard. I remember selling my SNES, Megadrive and Atari 2600 consoles to Cash Converters and only getting like £15. I then had to trade in some of my other Playstation 1 games and that along with some birthday money I received mid April was enough to seal the deal.

At the time I knew that sacrificing all my vintage consoles and some of my lesser loved games would be worth it on the 28th of April.. and it fucking was.

So we all played the first game in which members of the S.T.A.R.S Team are trapped inside a mansion which is full of zombies, monsters and mutants. The house also houses the secret laboratories of the Umbrella company. The first game was a purely terrifying experience which still holds up today, which is pretty cool considering the game was made almost 20 years ago!

In this second installment the virus has spread to the streets of Raccoon city and we follow the stories of Claire Redfield (the sister of the male leading character in the first game) and Leon Kennedy who is a cop on his first day on the job. The two are separated when a fuel truck explodes leaving them on either sides of the flames with hordes of the undead to contend with.

The two survivors take refuge in the local police station which turns out to be Umbrellas latest hiding place for their underground laboratories. This can be reached by solving puzzles and descending the underground sewer system. From there you have to fight some nasty monsters and then ultimately the final boss and blow the place to kingdom come. So yeah this one is a mega beefed up version of the first game.

The game play is very much the same as the first game but with many more features and tweaks. The graphics are much better and there are more varieties of zombies and monsters. In the first game there were only 3 types of zombie creatures, where this game has many different types of zombies lurking around. The game uses the same types of level designs using 3d characters over a drawn static environment which still looks pretty damn good.

The game has some terrifying moments throughout and gives the first game a run for its money in terms of atmosphere. From giant mutant crocodiles in the sewer to mutants flying through windows its all in there when it comes to bringing the terror.

One gripe I do have with this game (and the whole series in general) is the fact you can only carry a certain amount of items. Although I do really admire Capcoms taste for realism, I really don't enjoy spending a lot of game time running round storing items in boxes which magically appear in other boxes on the other side of the building. One thing I will say is that this game is more generous than the first in this aspect.

We also get to play as two other characters as the game progresses. These characters are Ada Wong and young girl called Sherry Birkin who's father caused all this mess and is the main boss at the end of the game.

Resident Evil 2 will not only go down as one of the greatest PS1 titles of all time but it will be ranked up there with the top games of all time period. With an amazing story and gameplay experience and not to mention the hours of extra content and replay value Resident Evil 2 is a bench mark when it comes to great video games. If you want to replay a classic Resident Evil 2 should be way up on the list.

HALLOWEEN 2014 COUNTDOWN: MOVIES: NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 1968

2014-09-15T15:55:00.000+01:00

The original Night of the Living Dead movie from 1968 maybe one of if not the most important horror movies of all time. With that said I find it far from the most enjoyable movie of all time.

A few years back I wrote about the 1990 remake (click here to read) and in that article I was bold enough to make the cardinal sin by stating it was a better movie than the original. After just watching the original movie yet again I still stand by that statement.

So the film starts out as two adult siblings arrive at a grave yard to pay their respects to a dead relative when they are attacked by a member of the undead. The man is killed and his sister (Barbara) flees the scene and takes refuge in a local farm house.

Not long after more of the undead start to gain entry to the house to attack the young woman. A car pulls up and a black guy (Ben) gets out and kills the zombies and locks himself in the house with Barbara. They board up the windows and doors and a short while later are surprised to find there are 5 other survivors hiding in the basement of the house. The humans barricade themselves into the house as more and more flesh eating creatures close in.

I first saw this movie in 1996 after seeing the rest of the Romero films (including the 1990 remake) and I really wasn't that impressed, and almost 20 years later the movie still hasn't really grown on me. Don't get me wrong, I understand the importance of this movie, I love the story and I even like the characters but the original Night of the Living Dead really seems to lack something when you compare it to the other movies in the series. I don't know if its the fact the movie is filmed in black and white or just the fact it hasn't aged as well as the other movies have but this one really feels to lack something.

Although this movie gave birth to everything I love about zombie movies it also is more of a chore for me to watch than a pleasure. I think one of the main things that annoys me with this movie is the Barbara character who is just a pathetic mess through out and she is even annoying before the initial zombie attack. It's understandable that after witnessing your brother get killed and the dead return to life before your very eyes, you might be in a bit of an emotional wreck but this woman is one of the most pathetic and annoying characters in horror history. I think this is something Romero picked up on and in the remake Barbara came back as a zombie ass kicker which was a very welcome move.

The fact that all the main characters constantly bicker and argue all the time is another reason this movie is not such an enjoyable watch for me. In all these movies there is a power struggle going on between the survivors and an extreme sense of cabin fever, but this movie takes it to a whole new level. Not just that but female characters are portrayed is being non existent and useless characters with nothing good to say or do throughout the film. At times it also feels as if the zombies are non existent as well. This was something that was later corrected in the sequels.

Reading this so far this may sound like a negative review and that I hate the movie but that is not the case at all. I just feel that this is a movie that way over achieved because of the subject matter and the fact it was the first of its kind. I like the fact that a black man was cast as a leading character, I like the levels of violence and gore, I like the plot and I love the fact it only cost $112,000 to make and raked in millions at the box office. The film is culturally and historically significant which will always cement its importance but me, I just find it very dull compared to the rest of the series and not an easy movie to watch in 2014. I am sure that had I been alive in 1968 this would be a much more positive review of the film, but like I said earlier somethings don't age very well and unfortunately this movie is one of them. Sorry but I just enjoy the remake more.. shoot me if you so wish but that's my opinion.

Due to a major fuck up with the copyright Night of the Living Dead is a movie which has been in the public domain for many years. Due to this lots of other parties have cashed in re releasing colour versions, 3d Versions and even a weird audio dubbed version which earns everyone money apart from those who actually made the film. Today I include the original movie at the end of this post for you to make up your own minds.

HALLOWEEN 214 COUNTDOWN: MOVIES: AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON

2014-09-10T15:13:00.002+01:00

ARTICLE AND ILLUSTRATION BY K-ROD

Where do you start when writing a piece about one of your favourite movies of all time?

The movie was a concept that director John Landis had began working on ten years before the film was even made, after making his first movie titled Schlock about a missing link creature.

The movie is about two American students who go backpacking in the moors of East Proctor and are attacked by a dog like creature on all fours which is shot dead by the very strange locals.

One of the men is killed and the other winds up in a London hospital after waking from a coma weeks later.

The reports say that the two men were attacked by an escaped madman but the young man (David) is convinced he was attacked by a wild dog. Not only that but his dead best friend (Jack) has returned as a member of the walking dead to warn David that he has the curse of the werewolf in his blood and on the next full moon he will transform into a dog like creature and kill people. David casts this off as a figment of his own imagination after having some pretty surreal and macabre dreams during his stay in hospital.

However his undead friend was right and the next full moon David becomes a Lycanthrope and terrorizes London town.

In my honest opinion An American Werewolf in London is the greatest werewolf movie ever made. It has all the ingredients that make it not just a great horror movie, but a great picture all round. Witty dialogue, amazing plot, believable characters, amazing locations and some of the greatest special effects EVER to be featured on the silver screen. The movie won an academy award for the special effects created by Rick Baker. This is one of the movies that gave birth to the 1980's!

The special effects in this movie are one of the things that stand out most and for good reason. John Landis wanted re invent the werewolf creature and was tired of the way Hollywood portrayed werewolves as two legged hairy men that walked upright, plus he hated the fact men sat in chairs and painlessly transformed into the monster. In this movie the metamorphosis is a very painful one as the main character has this demon like dog stretch out of his bones, skin and teeth. Rick Baker achieved this by using latex covered sculpts with prosthetic mechanics as well as a very intense and grueling make up process. The special effects and make up took months to create for the transformation scene in which certain parts only took minutes to shoot.

The movie has a really well played out love angle between the main character and the gorgeous nurse who he met at his bedside played by Jenny Agutter. The two move in together and have a great chemistry on screen.

The movie also has some great minor characters which give lots of laughs. Like the strange locals in East Procter, the cockney cab driver who later became Brick Top in Snatch, a young Asian boy who only says no, Brian Glover and even a young Rik Mayall playing chess in the pub at the beginning.

The dream sequences leading up to the first transformation are nothing short of spectacular. From David eating wild animals in the forest to the barbaric scene where mutant Nazis massacre David and his family back in America, These are classic scenes which add a lot to the movies mythology and question the main characters mental well being.

One thing that makes the werewolf in this movie even more scary than it actually is, is the fact that you hardly see it which reminds me of the shark in Jaws. With that said we do get to see alot more of it towards the end of the movie especially in a scene where the werewolf goes berserk in a packed Piccadilly Circus after transforming in a porno theater.

In closing An American Werewolf in London is not only one of the most important horror movies of the 80's but one of the most important horror movies of all time. It taught us that horror movies could be humorous and sexy. The special effects revolutionized the genre and changed the game for the next ten years with how make up and moving prosthetics were used on screen. The movie is just a good all rounder and hits a home run in each department. The movie was awarded an Academy award for the special effects and the film was also dedicated to the marriage of Charles and Princess Diana.

GAMING: 10 RANDOM VIDEO GAMES BASED ON MOVIES VOL 1

2014-08-07T16:01:00.000+01:00

Through the ages video games have emulated almost every aspect of fact and fiction and exploited it to the max. One of the most popular things video games have exploited is the movie genre. Even since the humble beginnings of computer entertainment movies have played a heavy part in the games we play. Sometimes games are made which not only represent the movie well but are also enjoyable video games.

Most of the time the games suck ass and we are left with a piece of shit worth £40 that no one wants to trade and we end up getting stuck with.

Recently a huge amount of E.T Atari 2600 cartridges were found buried in a landfill in a desert in Mexico. As soon as I read about it and saw the images of the cartridges it all came flooding back, the horrible day when I first played that vile game. So without any delay here are 10 random video games based on the movies.

E.T THE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL ATARI 2600

The one thing I did love about Atari 2600 games was the packaging. The box art of each cartridge was absolutely stunning with amazing artwork. When you picked one of these up in a shop back in the day you believed that with box art so great how can the game inside be shit? The sad reality was that almost 95% of these games royally sucked.. like really fucking bad. It was early doors for the gaming industry so I will let it pass, but I really find it hard to get nostalgic about these video games compared to the stuff that Sega and Nintendo brought out a few years later.

E.T maybe the worst video game I have ever played in my life and believe me when I tell you, I have played a lot of shit games in my 30 years on this planet.

The screen shot above is the highlight of the game! No really this is the best bit. E.T doesn't look to bad and we get a horrible 2 second rendition of the iconic E.T theme by John Williams. As soon as the game starts it all goes down hill from there.

The game is just confusing as hell and the maps look like weird golf courses which have holes you can fall down into. E.T's only power he has is the fact his neck extends and he can levitate back on to the map again. However this ability drains and you end up being stuck in a hole until you reset the console.

The game enemies are men in trench coats who keep putting E.T in jail all the time. The game is fucked up beyond belief and is easily the worst and most confusing video game I have ever played in my life. I can totally understand why 1000's of copies have been found in a Mexican landfill. To be fair they should collect the rest and bury them as well so we can all get on with our lives.

DIRTY HARRY ON NINTENDO

Dirty Harry on the NES is a lesser known title from the 8-bit days. I recently stumbled upon it and seeing as I am a huge fan of the series starring Clint Eastwood I gave it a chance.

I was pleasantly surprised by this title and the opening title screen is top notch for a game of that time and even has a cool recording Dirty Harry's voice saying the iconic "make my day" at the start.

The game is a pretty decent side scroller in which you shoot the bad guys throughout the levels. This game has the same kind of mechanics as the Robocop games from that period. In this game you can climb ladders, enter buildings and all sorts. Its not a bad game at all really considering its a game based on a movie and released on the NES.

ALADDIN SUPER NINTENDO

Aladdin on the Super Nintendo still ranks up there to this day as being one of the best movie video games ever made. This was a really fun game with amazing controls and physics which really brought the movie to life in 16 bit form.

This was one of the first Super Nintendo games I ever played and I still play it to this day. Aladdin is just pure fun from start to finish with some amazing features and enemies. The games final boss is Jafar in his giant snake form which is just so awesome and fun to beat.

Virgin interactive ported a version of Aladdin to the Sega Genesis which had some of the same elements from the SNES Capcom version but falls short compared to the Super Nintendo version. Aladdin has a sword in this version which is very handy but the game feels a lot looser than the SNES Capcom version and the graphics and sound are also not as good. It's still a great game though.

DIE HARD TRILOGY PLAYSTATION 1

I first played the demo of this game on Christmas day 1996 on a demo disc which came with my Playstation. The demo involved an airport shoot out from Die Hard 2. The great thing about Die Hard Trilogy was the value. Video games have always been expensive but this was 3 awesome games on one disc for the price of one game. Not just any games either 3 games of each Die Hard movie which I must admit (pardon the pun) I am a die hard fan of.

So we have the first Die Hard in which you play as a vest wearing, bare footed John Mclaine as you blow up terrorists and rescue hostages. You must battle your way to the top of Nakatomi tower in 20 or so blood soaked levels full of amazing weapons and destroy-able props.

Die Hard 2 is a first person style arcade shooter designed to be played with a light gun device if you have one, but playing this game on the normal Playstation controller is just as fun though. In this game you have to shoot your way through an airport of terrorists and then take to the runway for the climatic battle. This game is fun as hell and I never could complete it back in the day. I fired it up recently and completed it without dying once.

Die Hard 3 (or Die Hard with a vengeance) is a driving game in which you must drive around New York destroying bombs by driving over them. The game has a timer and you must race against the clock destroying all the bombs in time. This game also featured something very controversial for its time that no one really mentions.

In Die Hard 3 you can run over and kill pedestrians long before GTA and Carmageddon were released. When you do it on first person mode the window wipers clean the blood away as well. This was something I enjoyed very much as a young teenager playing this game.

ROCKY SEGA MASTER SYSTEM

Rocky on the Sega Master System is one of them games which just hasn't really aged well at all. I remember playing this as a kid, really enjoying it and even completing it a few times.

The game features 3 of Rocky's top opponents, Clubber Lang, Apollo Creed and Ivan Drago. The game is essentially a button basher in which there is not much skill involved apart from knowing when to bash the fuck out of the control pad.

The game also features a few different training modes in between fights which involve.. more button bashing. Even though the game is a poor confusing button bashing mess it does represent the movie and its characters well.

THE PREDATOR ATARI ST

The Atari ST is a video game console no one really members apart from the hardcore gamers from back in the day. The ST was a home computer like the Amiga which played video games on floppy discs. I will be writing about this machine in the future.

I never got off of the first stage of this game so I cant give it a massive in depth review like the others, but what I can tell you is that this game was fucking cool. It captured the movie and its vibe very well and was very violent for its time. The game is a violent side scroller in which you are being hunted by the alien from the movie. At certain points in the game the screen changes to the Predators thermal vision and you have to escape his target or die. This was a very innovative and clever feature for a game which is as old as this.

SCARFACE THE WORLD IS YOURS NINTENDO WII PLAYSTATION 2 AND XBOX

Scarface the World Is Yours by Sierra is a video game which expands from the movie and kind of acts as a sequel to the movie. At the end of Scarface we saw the iconic scene in which Tony Montana is killed in his mansion after doing shit loads of coke and blowing up loads of guys in a gun fight. In the video game Tony Montana survives the incident and has to start over as a small time drug dealer.

The video game is alot like GTA with its game play style and features. In this game you must take over businesses, deal drugs, run an empire, buy lavish items and kill people in order to get your final revenge and rule Miami again. The game is incredibly fun but its main drawback is the fact it can be ridiculously hard at times especially when trying to escape from the police which is almost impossible.

The game has an amazing style which boasts a superb soundtrack and celebrity cameos from Bam Magera, Ricky Gervais and even Lemmy from Motorhead. A very cool video game indeed.

GHOSTBUSTERS XBOX 360 PS3

Ghostbusters on the PS3 and XBOX 360 is one of my favorite titles released on both of those consoles. Released in 2009 this game is still really re playable in 2014 which cannot be said for many titles released around that time.

Ghosbusters the video game acts as a sequel to Ghostbusters 2 in a way. It's 1991 and the Ghostbusters have recruited a new recruit (you) to assist them on their adventures. The game frequents many of the environments and ghosts from the first movie. The Ghostbusters are all voiced by their real life actors and represented very well graphically.

Wether you are a fan of the franchise or not, I think this is a video game anyone can enjoy with it's witty humor and style and the fact there are some very scary bits included also. Ghostbusters maybe one of the XBOX 360 and PS3 titles which will stand the test of time.

WAYNES WORLD SUPER NINTENDO

If you are big Waynes World fan like I am and you love Super Nintendo video games.. you are going to fucking hate this one.

Some video games are rotten to the core and this is one of them! Waynes World is a nonsensical side scrolling platform game which is just a maze dead ends and stupid enemies. You play as Wayne who has a guitar which blows stuff up and you have to fight evil band instruments such as bag pipes and drum symbols. The game is notorious for being one of the worst movie games ever released and one of the worst SNES games period. Avoid this one like the AIDS virus.

STREET FIGHTER THE MOVIE: VIDEO GAME

Yeah if you thought this article was ending on a high note, you've got another thing coming. This is just a weird paradox of all kinds of fucked up shit which to this day makes me burp a bit of sick even thinking about.

So they made Street Fighter II which maybe the most iconic game of all time next to Super Mario. They made a movie to cash in on the game. The movie was the worst movie in the history of movies (to point where watching Chinese snuff movies would be more pleasant) and then they made a video game of the movie based on the video game. This could only end badly and it fucking did!

Made using images of the movie actors them selves, they decided to make a Street Fighter game which looked like a cheap version of Mortal Kombat (the arch enemy of the Street Fighter franchise) but was 10 times worse than both games. When it comes to Street Fighter the movie it sucked. When it comes to Street Fighter: The Video Game of the Movie Based On A video Game..... Just NO!

LOST ENTERTAINMENT NEWS JULY 31ST 2014

2014-07-31T11:46:00.004+01:00

Hey everyone this is Lost Entertainment creator Kristian Rodriguez (K-ROD) with some news about Lost Entertainment and some answers for some of your questions.

I have had a few e mails recently asking me if the site will be winding down or stopping as there are not as many articles being posted and the facebook page has gone.

The reason for the lack of new articles is because I am so busy with my art and design work which I am doing pretty much full time at the moment. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and just over ten years ago I landed an awesome job doing commercial design work. The job was very stressful and I ended up walking out and not drawing for almost a decade.

Last year I started drawing again after working closely with the very talented tattoo artist Sebastion Hannigan at Morbid Curiosity ink in East London. Thanks to his help and guidance I started drawing again and since then I haven't looked back.

The Lost Entertainment shop (the Bootleg Superstore) has also become more art oriented also with the launch of my posters and new clothing lines.

When I first started this website I was unemployed at the time which meant I had more time to update it and add new content. In that time with lots of hard work and dedication I brought the site to a very high level in terms of quality and quantity when it came to good content. Being a one man show all along it's hard for me to do what I am doing with running the store, illustrating and keeping up with the constant new content updates. Even my professional wrestling career (which means the world to me) has been put on hold temporarily. I have still managed to update the site with new good content each month but just not as much as back in the day. So to answer the first question the answer is no we are not winding down what so ever.

The reason the facebook page has gone is because my personal facebook account has been deactivated. This will be reactivated at some point in the future. If you would like to get in touch with me here is my personal e mail address where you can reach me directly by clicking here. I am also on instagram with a public account called @thatsgottabekrod which I update a lot with Lost Entertainment related photos.

So whats in store for you in the near future? Well the annual Halloween countdown will be going ahead as always on the first of September right up to the 31st of October. There is lots of ghoulishly amazing fun on the way. There also lots of general articles on my desk on a list waiting to published.

Our clothing line will explode within the next few weeks with over 30 new T shirt designs to go on sale as well as over 40 new art pieces for you to buy in the store.

For me personally my life is fine and I am in a very healthy happy place right now and I am really excited about the work I am putting together.

Anyway guys I just thought I would give you an update about the site and whats going on just to answer a few questions and to keep you informed.

Thanks for the support and Love

K-ROD.
