This looks like it will be the final ever spoiler here at DarkUFO. Our contact WhatDoTasteBudsTasteLike has viewed the Lost Season 6 Epilogue and has kindly sent the details over.

So for the final time...... Are You Sure?

The first scene is a man who has his back to camera walking towards a doorway with Dharma symbols on it. It's Ben and as that picture hinted a week or so ago Ben is indeed shutting down the Dharma initiative for good. This scene is only like a minute long and Ben just tells the dudes in the Dharma jumpsuits that their assignments are done and that travel has been arranged for them back to their respective homes. The skinny dude asks Ben why this is happening and Ben does the cheesy turn around quick look into the camera and says "There's a new man in charge" and he walks out of the station as the dudes gesture their disappointment. First scene is kind of cheesy but it gets much better.

Next up we see this fabled new man in charge who is of course Hurley. Hurley still looks the same but he talks differently and there's no "dude" mentioned anywhere in the vignette.

Hurley is on the beach and is just starring off into the ocean. There is some noise coming from the bushes behind Hurley and Hurley has a weird cautious look in his eye but it's just the dog who lays down next to Hurley. Hurley has a nice little scene here with the dog where he outlines his regrets and his view of the future for the island. There is a lot of good stuff here and I will leave that part a mystery. Hurley says there is supposed to be some sort of balance to the island and that balance is gone. Hurley gets up and brushes the sand off of himself and tells the dog he has some good news for him, WALT IS COMING TO THE ISLAND!

Walt is doing some homework and listening to music in his room. I guess this is some sort of prep school or some sort of academy because Walt has a room at the school and is wearing a nice little uniform. After a moment someone knocks on the door and it's Ben. Walt looks like he's thirty years old but he still remembers Ben's face like he just saw him yesterday. Walt says he remembers what "they" did to him. Ben apologizes and he gets Walt to calm down. Ben explains Hurley's role on the island and offers him passage to the island. Walt says that if he wanted to go to the island he could go there any time he wanted to. Ben is intrigued but his evil intrigue dies off and he stays on mission. Walt then asks why he would ever go back and Ben manipulates him and tells him that his father is on the island. Walt wonders why Ben is visiting him because if Ben could leave the island then so could Michael. Ben says that Michael needs Walt's help and this works and WALT JUST FUCKING VANISHES as Ben smiles because he can still manipulate people like the old days.

Back on the island Hurley can still see dead people. I will not spoil the details of this scene as it both directly and indirectly involves John Locke and I can't write up a spoiler about Mr. Locke. I will give a little hint that Hurley offers an explanation of Locke's connection to the island and it fucking rocks and will be very satisfying but also very sad in regards to how things actually played out and how they should have played out. Are you... um.... stuck here? What if this island is the one that is stuck with me? Awesome scene. Very heady.

Final scene involves Walt and Hurley and offers a suggestion regarding the future of the island, things are left very much out in the open and the viewer must make up their own mind. Very good stuff. Fans will love it and it is very satisfying. The Vincent and Walt reunion will bring tears to everyone's eyes and it was done amazingly well. Great score A+++++++

As you know I decided that we would not post some major spoilers about the Series Finale yesterday. I know a number of people we're disappointed but I did it for the greater good.

Here are the spoilers that we were going to post for those that were interested in them. And before you ask I sent these to a number of people last night before the episode so that they could confirm that these were indeed what we were going to post.

Christians body arrives in L.A. at a church arranged by Desmond.

Juliet is Davids mother.

Desmond and Eloise have an interesting conversation at the benefit concert.

Jack and Locke get into a huge fight. Jack is stabbed badly. Locke gets killed by Kate.

On island when Desmond puts the light out in the heart of the island it makes Locke mortal. As well as causes the island to start to sink. Later on Jack gets the light to come back on and stop the sinking.

Hurley becomes the new Jacob with Ben as his new Richard

Rose Bernard Vincent Desmond Hurley Ben are all alive on the island still

Kate Sawyer Claire Miles Frank and Richard fly off the island.

In the alt, Sayid/Shannon (Outside a nightclub.), Juliet/Sawyer (At the apollo vending machine in the hospital.), Kate/Claire (During labor at the benefit.), Sun/Jin (In the hospital.), and Locke (After he wiggles his toe post surgery.) have these moments where they become aware of what they have gone through on the island.

IGN: Should we be thinking Richard suffered an unceremonious death?

Lindelof: When the Monster hit him?

Carlton Cuse: No, I think that would be way too unceremonious for a character as important as Richard. So let's just say that was a bus stop, but…

Lindelof: A bus stopped right on his face!

Cuse: A bus stopped right on his face. Exactly! You will be seeing more of Richard in the finale.

IGN: There was a quick line Desmond had this week about Ana Lucia and how she wasn't "ready yet." Is that something you might have time to delve into?

Lindelof: Well, all we can say is that in "Happily Ever After," when Desmond confronted Eloise Hawking and he wanted to know why she wouldn't reveal to him why Penny's name was on this guest list, she said to him that he should stop asking these questions, because he wasn't ready. So that was the other time we heard that word. Ready for what exactly...?

Cuse: It's meant to be an intriguing clue that you are right to be pondering.

IGN: There's so much hype for the finale. There's a big countdown clock just a block away, in Times Square…

Lindelof: We just saw that!

Cuse: We were driving down here to the Times Center and said, "Oh my god!"

Lindelof: It's nice to see how many more seconds that people will care about us.

IGN: The fandom of this show is intense and you obviously want to deliver a satisfying conclusion, but at a certain point how do you tune out all the fan expectations, so you don't get overwhelmed and can just do your work?

Cuse: I think we try to just stay inwardly focused. We've sort of done our job. The finale is made. We put our last shot in Monday night. The hay is in the proverbial barn and we're going to watch it with our closest collaborators and our spouses and that's the perfect group of people. We've all worked together for six years on the show. We all care enormously about each other and that will be a really great experience. So we're looking forward to sort of the shared communal experience of experiencing the finale together with the people we've worked with. Television is enormously collaborative, so to share that experience with all those people will be really special.

Lindelof: We really care, deeply, what the fans think and of course we want them to love it. But at the same time, we acknowledge that there's no finale that we could have made that everybody would love. Therefore, we set out to basically make ourselves happy, because people are going to see the finale. It's almost here. We could tell you right now, some people are going to say it's the worst finale in the history of television and other people are going to say it's the best finale in the history of television. It's just a matter of percentages.

Cuse: Our mothers are going to say it's the best finale.

Lindelof: My mother has to say it. She's right behind you! [Lindelof points past me, where his mother is indeed standing]. But essentially, we've been doing a lot of press, and 50% of the reporters are asking us, "So, do you guys feel a tremendous amount of pressure to live up to the awesomeness of The Sopranos finale?" And we answer that, and the other 50% say, "Are you afraid of pissing people off with an unsatisfying copout in the same way that The Sopranos finale did?" And we look at it and go, "Okay, well, we've now gotten a glimpse at our own future." Which is that both camps are going to exist.

IGN: People tend to grab onto every aspect of this show, including things that might never have been intended to be a big mystery. Is there one that keeps coming back, where you're constantly amused people are putting a lot of importance into it?

Cuse: I think that there are a few kind of questions that surface, like are we ever going to see the Hurley Bird again. There was this huge bird flying around the island that made a cry that sounded like he was saying Hurley. We had just mentioned in the last couple of days that there's going to be a feature on the DVDs which will, sort of in an entertaining way, answer some of these questions that are unanswered. The show speaks for itself and it's not something anyone needs to see, but for people who are curious about some of these unanswered questions that fall into the category that you're talking about, then the DVD feature will be very enjoyable.

Lindelof: And then there are the Kate's plane phenomenon, where we actually think we've given a pretty good answer, but the question still is pervasive.

Cuse: "What are the polar bears?"

Lindelof: What are the polar bears, or, "What's the story with Aaron?" And we go, okay, the story with Aaron is that a psychic told Claire that he was special, but then subsequently, in an Eko episode, we revealed that the psychic was a fraud. So people are like, "Why is Aaron special?" and we're like, "But, that wasn't true. That guy was a liar." "Well, why did The Others abduct him?" Well, the Others revealed that they abducted him because he was a baby born on the island, and they wanted to see if there was anything they could glean scientifically to solve their fertility issues.

And so there it is in the show, in black and white, but people still say, "So why is Aaron special?!" or, "What are you going to reveal about him?" Aaron became emotionally special, because Kate ended up having to raise him and she ended up returning to the island to bring Claire back home. So that's why he's special. But if you're looking for the answer to, "What are his superpowers?" or "When will he finally deploy his laser eyes?", the answer is… the finale. He deploys his laser eyes in the finale.

IGN: And we should assume the obvious, regarding who the mother of Jack's son is, I assume... It's pretty clearly going to be Nikki, right?

Lindelof: [Laughs] Yes! Wow! You're the first person who cracked it.

Cuse: Yes, Nikki!

IGN: You know, I just had a feeling…

Lindelof: Oh my god. They'll never see that coming!

It's been a wonderful opportunity to have a contact like this to chat and confirm a variety of spoilers over the years and to provide our readers with little snippets/games/teasers for upcoming episodes.

We're assuming the Lost finale was not shot chronologically. Can you tell us what to look for on Sunday so we can know when we're watching what the actual last scene shot was?
I can tell you there was some discussion about what would be the last shot, and I decided that I wanted the last shot to involve Terry O'Quinn and Matthew Fox. And it was not an entirely popular choice on the production end because it meant keeping the actors a little longer and not getting them off of the clock. Blah blah bah. I insisted the last shot of our series was not going to be something arbitrary. In fact, we did three takes of it. And it involved a crane. It was a shot in the picture and it involved a crane with the two of them. We rehearsed it and we did take one and I said, "Well, that was wonderful guys, but I'm not ready to let go yet." So we did it again and I said, "That was also wonderful, but I can't say it yet." And then, on the third take, I said, "Well, I guess I have to say it now — that's a wrap." And that was our last shot, at 5:30 in the morning as the sun was coming up.

- Just got back, not too many spoilers...but Carlton did let out that we will see Walt again before all is said and done.
- they also referenced that one of the final scenes involves a lot of characters and that the very final scene has been known since season 1
- One of the fans in the audience asked if Desmond's line to Jack in the 2nd season when they first meet in the stadium and Desmond tells Jack "You have to lift it up" would have any relevance to the finale. Damon & Carlton said "you will not be disappointed."
- The bigger one, though, was confirmation that we will see Walt in the finale. Yes, Walt.
- Eloise's knowledge is relevant for the finale.
- Walt will be back in some form.
- Damon would not directly address why Smokey was pulling Locke down that hole in the S1 finale, so that could be relevant. Same with whether or not Jacob is actually good, and whether or not there's anything worth protecting down in the Light Cave.
- There will be a Star Wars reference in the first 7 minutes of the finale.
- Hurley was involved in the final scene (we knew this already).
- A clip was shown, pretty much an extended version of the Sawyer/Ben/Flocke one posted here. Sawyer tells Locke that he thinks Desmond is needed for destroying the Island, Locke says yes. Sawyer then takes Ben's gun, punches him, and walks away while saying that the group he's a part of "aren't candidates anymore". Locke then remarks that the Island will be at the bottom of the ocean when he's done with it, prompting Ben to question his loyalty (Ben was promised the Island in return for his help, and assumed that its destruction was figurative and not literal). Locke then invited him to join him on his boat as he watches the Island sink. He kneels down to the ground near the well and notices pawprints.
He realizes that a dog had been there.
- Also, mirrors are very relevant.
- When Ben asks why Flocke isn't running to chase him down Flocke explains that he intends to use Desmond to destroy the Island. Naturally Ben isn't too pleased.
- The extended clip ends with Flocke examining the ground near the well and stating that a dog had been there.
- Widmore was lying when he said Jacob visited him

The show's stars offer teases about the May 23rd series finale

With the recent deaths of Sun, Jin, Sayid and Charles Widmore, not to mention Kate’s shooting and Richard’s projection by Smokey into the jungle, I was starting to worry that none of my favorite Lost characters were going to end up with happy endings. But I’ve found new hope after several of the show’s stars offered me some encouraging teases about the ABC drama’s two and a half hour May 23 series wrap-up.

When I asked Scotty Caldwell, who plays Rose, to pick her favorite death scene, she looked at me like I was oblivious.

“Who died?” she asked. “They’re dead??” Hmm….What are we to make of this? Could the characters’ flashsideways lives possibly be the ones that stick? Prodded further, Scotty hinted that all of the characters “get what we gave” and are taken care of in the end.

Adds Nestor Carbonell (Richard), “The whole finale is all about everyone’s resolutions.”

And get this. When I asked Sonja Walger, who plays Penny, to tell me who gets the best ending, she said rather cryptically, “We all do and you’ll see why.” While Rebecca Mader (Charlotte) concurs, “All of us” are well served, Michael Emerson singles out his character’s ending out as perhaps the best.

“All vanity aside, I love the way Ben ends,” says Michael. “It’s true to his entire, ambiguous arc. He sort of ends and he sort of doesn’t end.”

But Scotty also tells me that more than one ending was shot. “I’m not absolutely sure about the final hows, wheres and whens because they shot more than one,” she says. “So I’ll be waiting like everyone else to see what they air.”

And according to one well-placed source, the finale, titled "The End," may not be the ultimate ending of the story. I’m hearing twenty additional minutes of story (not just deleted footage or an alternate ending) will be included in the season six DVD to be released August 24, along with what executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse say will be some pretty spectacular packaging show fans will be unable to resist.
