According to Mr. Cousineau, one of the questions the lottery industry should resolve is how to literally reinvent itself and create a new family of games. Innovative concepts will be needed to better reach its young adult clientele who are today solicited by many digital and interactive proposals that often include some form of gambling.
"The lottery sector has changed greatly over the past 40 years," Alain Cousineau noted. "Loto-Québec's new products will, therefore, need to incorporate such factors as competition, decision-making and skill, in addition to the fun of playing. That is a major challenge," he acknowledged, "but meeting it successfully is critical if we are to maintain our products' competitiveness."

$1,952,412 - Half the Lotto 6/49 Jackpot Won in the Montérégie [+]

$1,952,412
Half the Lotto 6/49 Jackpot Won in the Montérégie

Montréal, November 13, 2009 – Mr. Julien Bastien-Bouchard, a resident of Montérégie, won $1,952,412, that is half the jackpot, in the October 28, 2009, Lotto 6/49 draw. True to habit, Mr. Bastien-Bouchard had purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket with his usual selection as well as a Quick-Pick ticket. A few days later, as he went to buy a Lotto Max ticket, Mr. Bouchard decided to have his Quick-Pick ticket validated, only to learn that he was a new millionaire! Because he was only a few blocks away from Loto-Québec’s head office when he discovered his good fortune, he quickly went to pick up his valuable cheque. The lucky winner was still in shock when he received his winnings and had not yet made any plans. He wants to take some time to think.

$1,952,412 - A New Millionnaire in the Chaudières-Appalaches Region Thanks to Lotto 6/49 [+]

$1,952,412
A New Millionnaire in the Chaudières-Appalaches Region Thanks to Lotto 6/49

Montréal, November 13, 2009 – Quite a surprise awaited Gilles Gélinas from Chaudière-Appalaches as he checked the results of the October 28, 2009, Lotto 6/49 draw. He realized that he had won $1,952,412, that is half the jackpot, making him a millionnaire! It was late at night when he discovered his good fortune. Mr. Gélinas, his heart “skipping several beats”, woke his wife up, saying: “Look at my numbers. We won big!” Barely awake, she had a hard time believing her husband. Even after checking the results, she was still sceptical. The couple didn’t sleep a wink that night and travelled to Loto-Québec's offices in Quebec City early the next morning. The winner said he wanted to “digest” all the excitement and let the dust settle, but has already decided he will treat his loved ones.

Through a partnership with Loto-Québec - The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts presents an enriched display of contemporary art open to the public free of charge [+]

Through a Partnership with Loto-Québec
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts presents an
enriched display of contemporary art
open to the public free of charge

Montreal, November 10, 2009 – Today, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) is unveiling new galleries of contemporary art, which double the previous gallery space, to display its extensive and diversified permanent collection and present an enriched exhibition programme, and all with free admission.
