Blog Sale and Ebay Haulage

I really should have stopped spending this month I am so far over my limit it's untrue, but it couldn't resist another few purchases including some goodies from my fellow bloggers. I love blog sales, they are a great opportunity to pick up some bargain goodies whilst helping out your fellow bloggers at the same time - first up a couple of nail varnishes from the lovely Lottie

Boots 17 Fast Finish polish in Peacock is a gorgeous shimmery teal blue shade, and Rimmel 60 Seconds polish in 606 Purple Reign, is a lovely bright purple, with a hint of shimmer.

I also managed to pick up the NYX Champagne and Caviar palette from the lovely Stacey's blog sale page - This has been on my wishlist for ages - I needed another neutral palette like a hole in the head but this is a really nice one

Both ladies were kind enough to include loads of extras including lip products, eyeliners, shadows, face masks and more - It was so unexpected but so kind of both of them and really appreciated.

Finally I received another nail polish that I ordered from ebay - Isn't it gorgeous?

Nubar G150 Hologram Glitter is an amazing silver hologram glitter, I'm loving colours like this at the moment if it has shimmer or sparkle I'm all over it lol

So that was my mini haul - I'm so pleased this month is nearly over it's been a total fail spending wise I really need to get myself back on track. As per usual if you have any questions or if you would like any reviews please leave me a comment x

My Nail Polish Collection - MAC

We all now about my love for MAC make up, you don't ? well stay tuned for a series of posts on my MAC collection but what you maybe don't know is that I also have a bit of a thing for MAC nail polishes. The quality sometimes isn't all that I admit but they certainly make up for it in colours, and textures. I have to apologise in advance that the majority of these colours are now discontinued, in fact the first couple of polishes are so ancient they come in different packaging (from 1999 - 2001 ish!) eek - lets get started and don't forget to click the polish names to see some nails of the days.

Yet another colour that I think deserves a nails of the day in this post x It's looking quite lilac / purple here but it's shot through with golds, greens and blues

I've also took a few slightly out of focus pictures in different lighting so you can see how it changes x

The quality of MAC nail polish can be a bit hitty missy some apply like a dream some not so well. For a cosmetic brand nail polish thought they aren't badly priced, at £9.00 for 10ml, (although in recent collections I have noticed a price rise boo) maybe Chanel could learn a thing or two from MAC. Nails Of The Day - I Need To Escape

Hello my loves it's time for another nails of the day post. This wasn't the colour I'd planned to wear but that seems to have disappeared into thin air in the last 24 hours which I have to say haven't been the best, Mummy Lou has had a bit of a setback so it's unlikely she will be home today :( but the good news this morning is that she should be able to come home tomorrow. Anyways the colour I went for was a newbie.

Avon Nailwear Pro in Blue Escape, featured in my haul earlier in the week, I'd initially intended to go for something dark and brooding to match my mood but this cheery blue caught my eye.

I don't see how this colour could be anything other than cheerful, it bright and it reminds you of beaches and sunny skies. Like most other Avon shades it applies like a dream, but it did need 2 coats - I love it - What do you think of Blue Escape?

Dorothy Perkins, Avon Goodies, A Mini Review And An Update

Morning Everyone - I hope your nice and warm where you are it's freezing today! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who messaged me on twitter or on Facebook yesterday. Mummy Lou had her operation late on Monday afternoon so I was feeling more than a little bit stressed especially when she was sound asleep every time I called the ward - needless to say I'll be lucky if I've had 4 hours sleep! Anyway she rang me this morning and the operation has gone well, she had a bit of reaction to the pethidine which explains the sleepiness, but she's had some breakfast and she's feeling much better - phew I feel a lot more relaxed now I've spoken to her!
Now on to more cheerful things - haulage! I mentioned in Saturday's haul post that I'd placed a little Dorothy Perkins order - well it came yesterday and there I was expecting to send half of it back, but do you know what typically I liked everything that I ordered, so I've ended up keeping it all - whoops!

So yeah I spent £75 including P&P but look what I saved ;) I don't have any excuses really - I'm a big fat fail when it comes to spending diets aren't I !! It could have been worse but my lovely mum was kind enough to pay for my Avon before she went into hospital - I only got 2 things including the True Colour 6 in 1 Neutral Eye Palette, I got this for £6.50 instead of the usual £10.50 so it was definitely worth picking up. It comes in super sleek black shiny packaging which is of course fingerprint prone!

The palette features a large sized mirror, and 6 neutral eye shades, 2 matte and 4 with shimmer

The shadows have a lovely soft, buttery texture, and the pigmentation isn't too bad. Typically though the two matte shades (the two far left colours) aren't as pigmented as the shimmers why is that always the case?

I'm not sure I would pay £10.50 for this palette, It's nice but I don't think it's any better than the MUA Heaven and Earth palette which is cheaper and contains more shades (keep checking back to see a full overview of the MUA Professional range), but if neutrals really are your thing, then look out for special offers rather than buying it at full price. If you want to get your hands on one of these Avon palettes though don't forget to check back tomorrow I might have purchased one as a part of my giveaway ;)

Despite the lack of nails of the days with them, I'm really liking Avon nail polishes at the moment and I took the ordered one of the new Spring colours

This is Blue Escape, as you know I love blue nail polish, this one is a tiny bit darker than it's showing here and it has a tiny bit of shimmer in it. It's a proper ocean blue, love it :)

Tell My What's The Flavour

Well the first week of my diet is officially over and I've managed to lose a massive 7lbs !! Yup the meal replacement shakes are doing their job. The thing I like about the Slim Fast programme is that you can have a little snack everyday up till the value of 200 calories, the first part of the week I was good and ate lots of fruit and raw veg, the second half of the week however was a different story - my snacks were crisps! still a little bit of what you fancy does you good ;) What flavour crisps did I have? well strangely enough I don't really know.

I was kindly sent 6 bags of yummy crisps from the lovely people at Walkers. This week sees the start of a super exciting competition called What's The Flavour?, and the launch of three new varieties of Walkers Crisps.

No your eyes aren't deceiving you, the new varieties are actually called Mystery Flavour A, B, and C. It may seem a strange idea buying crisps when you don't know what flavour they are but it's well worth a risk, all the flavours were yummy, and not only that but if you identify the flavour correctly you could win £50,000!!

Believe me this isn't as easy as it sounds but me and Mummy Lou had good fun trying to pick out all the different aspects of each flavour, Mystery Flavour C was a bit spicy and my personal favourite while Mummy Lou preferred B which had a definite dairy hint.

Nails Of The Day Or For Five Minutes - You Decide!

OK it's not often I start a nails of the day post by saying that I really dislike the nails polish but I have to say this one in my opinion just doesn't work on me and it didn't even last 24 hours before I changed it :(

Leighton Denny Babydoll popped up in one of last years beauty boxes, forgive me that I don't know which one but I think I subscribe to most of them (I'm too scared to cancel one in case I miss something amazing, sad eh!) On receipt of the box I was really pleased it was there I'm normally a fan of his polishes but this one shall we say was a bit of nightmare

I always have an issue with pale pinks like this, Barry M'S Pale Pink and Strawberry Ice Cream just didn't work for me, in the bottle I love this shade but on my nails it just makes me look ill. Added to that it's a cream polish, I always think they need extra work and careful application and this one was no different, it streaked, some nails needed 2 coats, and some needed 3

Maybe it's a summer colour, maybe it's not one for short nails, I don't know but sadly I don't think it's a colour I'm going to reach for often so I'm passing it on to someone who might love it more. My mum thinks it looks nice albeit from a distance , we don't see our hands in the distance though do we, hmm - what do you think of Babydoll?

Hospital Related Hauling - L'Oreal, Soap & Glory, Peacocks and More

I've done it again haven't I - I've done a bit of a disappearing act over the last few days - sorry! I had a medical appointment yesterday which to be honest I wasn't looking forward typically I am none the wiser, I have to have some more tests and go back in 3 months, my consultant was lovely which was a bonus and we had a nice chat about yoga, tai chi and lots of other things, I even might dig out old Yoga For Fatigue DVD and give it a go, when I got over the horrid aches and pains I have today :( So yes my stress levels have been a bit high this week and stress means one of two things to me, I eat or I shop, seeing as I just started my diet on Monday I decided on some retail therapy. Yes I know Bad LouLou breaking my spending ban already but unless I go out alone and brave public transport I'm not going to have much of an opportunity to go shopping for the next 3 months whilst my mum recovers from her operation. That's my justification and I'm sticking to it ;)
Anyways what did I buy? well in the huge Soap and Glory gift set that I got for Christmas, there was a voucher for 300 extra advantage card points when you spent £10 or more on Soap & Glory make up, I've looked at the range before and I have to say it's never really wowed me, but I had another look and I picked this up

I have to say I'm not a fan of the cardboard packaging but Glow All Out is a gorgeous, peach pink toned face and body highlight / luminizing powder

It has a lovely smooth texture and the colour is beautiful - After seeing the swatches of Blonde MSF from the MAC Naturally collection I've came to the conclusion that this beauty is close enough not to warrant a purchase - result ! The only thing is I'm liking this so much I may have to take another look at the Soap & Glory make up line -eek never mind there is actually a free Soap & Glory Mascara in the next issue of Elle magazine which will hopefully satisfy my purchasing urges

Next in Boots I had a look at 75% sale items and I have to say I was disappointed, there was nothing much left bar make your own photo calenders, but they did have a few fragrances in the sale section including Harjajuku Lovers Wicked Style in Love - I love the Harajuku Lovers fragrances and I'd wanted this one for a while - it was only £10 for 30ml which was a real bargain

Oh and if your in Boots and your buying Diet Coke, as well as the Benefit voucher, you might also get one of these

I was under the impression that this promotion was long gone but they had a box full of them under the counter - The colour I chose was LG014 Golden Nude x
Next up Superdrug, I only went in for cotton wool pads but you know how it goes ;) First up these - yup Kiss fake nails

I'm trying out a new nail strengthening product at the moment but if it fails I'm running out of things to try, so these are my back up plan - I'm not a huge fan of fake nails but as needs must, we'll see x I also picked up a nail buffer too, the nail surface on some of my nails is awful especially where my nails have peeled :(

I also picked up a few things from BeautyUK to go towards my Budget Beauty Series

I'd seen these polishes on the the Beauty UK site but I'd never actually seen them in store, you get six polishes for £4.99 this set is called Midnight Minx :)

I also picked up another one of the Beauty UK lipsticks this time in shade 7 In The Buff - swatches and reviews will be in my Budget Beauty Series post on Beauty UK x

Always on the lookout for a bargain I also picked another one of the L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows this time in the shade 027 Goldmine - these are on offer in both Boots and Superdrug for just £3.99 at the moment so your saving £3.00! well it would have been wrong not to ;)

Finally I went into Peacocks, I was so sad to hear that they went into administration this week but I can't say I'm surprised, their prices have been creeping up for sometime now, still I really hope they find a buyer, all the staff in my local stores are always so nice and chatty. I went to say what was left in the sale stock after my skirt bargain the other day to be honest though the clothes had been well ravaged I did pick up a few jewellery bits including these stacking ring sets

and these chandelier earrings - love them :)

I also got a few none sale items, as there was 20% off everything in store, including some undies and this cute tunic style top with belt

So that was my in store haulage - I did get a nail polish from ebay which came today - Color Club 927 Perfect Mol-Ten

Isn't it gorgeous I can't wait to apply it - a gorgeous duo chrome in silver and green shot through with pink loveliness

Nails Of The Day - Biker Chic?

I have to be honest and say I've had awful problems with my nails over the last month, splitting, peeling, breaking, you name it, it happened . At last though there appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel, a new cuticle products seems to be helping with the hang nails (review coming soon!), and my nails at last seem to be growing again. I'm going to be trying out a new nail strengthener product soon for you, but in the meantime I'm just happy I've got something to paint.
When your nails are super short, the majority of people seem to either stop painting their nails all together, or they paint them in a nice pale neutral, I have to admit I'm guilty of both, but do you know what? a dark colour on super short nails can look amazing, case in point MAC's Biker Blue

This is a beautiful colour a super dark navy with lots of blue sparkles, apologies for all the different lighting in these pictures, it was just so hard to capture the sparkle on camera. Oh and this is two coats x

I personally love this colour and I think it looks great on short nails, what do you think of Biker Blue?

Just Like Starting Over - An Update

Hi Guys
I just thought I'd do a quick update post for you. It's taken me a little while to get back into the swing of things blogging wise if I'm honest, I've lost so many photos and things and quite frankly I haven't really known where to start, but I'm starting to get a bit of a handle on things again, and I'm formulating a bit of a plan. So what can you expect to see this week on LouLouLand, well the big one will be the belated launch of my New Year giveaway, I have two prizes to give away on my blog and one to give away on my You Tube channel, so make sure your all subbed and following x I'm also going to try and get a review up and maybe a nails of the day post.
Away from blogging I've been a bit up and down, health issues again dominate, me and the kitty cats have had a tummy upset, I have a hospital appointment on Friday, and my mums knee operation is scheduled for next Monday - when will it end! Not only that but I weighed myself for the first time since before Christmas yesterday, and I have to say I nearly cried I have never weighed so much in my life and its not a good feeling. The diet starts here I'm going to give the Slim Fast programme another go, it's helped in the past and I'm hoping it will give me the kick start that I need - I'll keep you posted on how I get on, till then thanks for following and I'll see you soon x

A Few Purchases - Urban Decay, George, Peacocks and Lily Loves Lola

Although the spending diet has resumed I have to admit that it isn't going too well this month, I can only blame one thing if I'm being honest

Yup, Urban Decay Naked 2, ever since I saw this I wanted it and I have to say the banter on the Debenhams Beauty Club Facebook page and on Twitter on the launch night was hysterical and it was something that I'll remember for a long time x

I have to say the palette is beautiful, the metal casing is so much more practical and stylish than Naked 1, and the colours are gorgeous, early favourites are Suspect, Verve and of course YDK which is a long standing Urban Decay favourite x If you have the first Naked palette do you need this one? no probably not, although only one colour Half Baked is duplicated some of the new shades are quite similar, if you love neutrals though like me then yes I can see that this would be a good investment x

Another thing that I liked about Naked 2 is the absence of Primer Potion, I know a lot of people have said that they would have preferred it to be included but I'm not the biggest fan so I was more than happy to see a Mini Lip Junkie Lipgloss included instead - In the shade Naked, it's quite a sheer neutral pink, with a minty taste and lip plumping properties.

So that was £36 of my monthly budget gone, which was a tad worrying considering I'd already bought a top from Asda

I have to blame the lovely Sarah from Found On Film, for this she tweeted a picture of herself wearing it and I have to say I love it. I am a huge kitty cat fan, and I love the print. 2012 seems to be the year of the kitty cat print so far - Victoria Beckham's new fashion range Victoria includes a few items with cat prints like this one :) The photo's aren't the best but the black top features a light mustard kitty cat print on the front in a slightly sheer fabric, and a solid black back which is slightly longer than the front. I love this top and it was great value at only £9.

Keeping with the mustard and black theme I've been cyber stalking this skirt from Peacocks for sometime now, yes even on my phone I was watching it! It was £18, then it was reduced to £9 and last week I found it in store for just £5.40!!! Result!! It features a wide black elasticated waist band, a
cotton petticoat lining and it's in the most amazing mustard shade! I love mustard!

My final little purchase came from the lovely Victoria from Lily Loves Lola, if you don't already Victoria has a webstore where she sells cute handmade bracelets and other jewellery pieces. I ordered two of her friendship bracelets, both on black cord, one with a silver tone Hello Kitty charm and one with a tiny little silver tone star charm

Aren't they cute :) So they were my purchases from January so far. I admit it I have gone over my monthly limit, Naked 2 saw to that, but I'm trying to stay strong, my real test will be next week if we manage a trip to the Metro Centre and the week after when my mum goes into hospital eek. Some Christmas Surprises From My Fellow Bloggers

I have to say I was a very lucky girl over the Christmas period as well as winning the Ray's giveaway (click here to see my prize), I also received two other lovely parcels from two of my fellow bloggers. First up I took part in the lovely Chars blogger secret Santa, I love secret santas not only because of the surprise element but in the blogosphere it can often introduce you to someone elses blog. That definitely happened in this case, my secret Santa was Trayci from Please May I, her blog is great with lots of real life posts and some great outfit posts - please check her out if you haven't already - anyways what did she get me?

She worked really well with the budget and bought me some super cute things - the two items in the Union Jack style packaging are from Wilkinsons - a little bubble bath inflatable sachet, and She's A Rebel Eye Shadow Palette. Somebody told me a while ago that Wilkinsons did their own make up and skincare line but I'd never made it to a store to try it, I have to say though if this eyeshadow duo is anything to go by this line is well worth checking out. I'm so sorry I haven't managed to do any pictures of the duo but the shadows which are just bigger than a 10p piece are in a gorgeous turquoise / aqua shade and a beautiful soft grey, they are sooo soft and pigmented - I'm really happy with this duo! Trayci also kindly got me the Boots Bobbypin Lipgloss Trio. I'm a huge Bobbypin fan and I love Jeffrey Fulvimari's fun illustrations, I already have a vanity case and a travel bag featuring his work. The lipglosses come in a lovely designed drawer style box, and they come in cute little illustrated tins, they gave a nice shiny appearance and a hint of colour either in red, pink or wine - again so cute and so me. She also got me some tissues in lip print packaging and a little heart shaped phone charm. Thanks you so much Trayci and thanks to Char for organising it xx

It's always puzzling when a fellow blogger messages you and asks for your address without giving you an explanation, but I sent my details to the lovely Emma from Computergirl's Musings anyways and I'm super happy that I did

The lovely Emma, had nominated me to receive a Christmas surprise from the lovely people at Aussie. A couple of days before Christmas I received a lovely gold wrapped parcel.

The parcel contained a lovely Christmas card on behalf of Emma and Aussie, and two fabulous Aussie haircare products. I received a huge 500ml bottle of the Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo and a 250ml bottle of Aussie Take The Heat 3 Minute Miracle Deep Treatment. I am currently finishing some other products but I can't wait to try these products out. I just want to say a huge thank you to Emma for thinking of me and obviously a huge thank you to Aussie for providing me with the products x

I have to say again over the last month I really haven't been myself, no laptop, and a horrid flu bug did not a happy LouLou make but these two pieces of kindness really lifted my spirits - Thanks you so much ladies xx

I've Had A Visit From The Fairy Hobmother

Whilst I was sans laptop the only way I was able to check my emails was via my phone and my itouch, totally disheartening and time consuming especially when 90% of it was junk mail, but a few emails did stand out including a lovely message from The Fairy Hobmother.

If you haven't heard of The Fairy Hobmother where have you been? Over the last few months she's been sharing the love in the Blogosphere rewarding deserving bloggers with a little treat on behalf of the lovely people at Appliances Online. Appliances Online is a great site which sells over 30,000 kitchen appliances every week in the UK, from cookers, to fridge freezers, and the best washing machines - I might pass the link onto my next door neighbours their washing machine sounds like it's coming through our kitchen wall at the moment lol ;)

Anyway the lovely email really came at the right time, and it really lifted my spirits. The Fairy Hobmother very kindly sent me £20 worth of Amazon vouchers :) Thankfully I was able to use the fabulously, good Amazon mobile site, and I managed to get my goodies in time for Christmas. I decided to go for a book I'd wanted for sometime

I know some people will sneer at this but it's actual a really good book for beginners or anyone new to make up, the book explains basic technique, all about different types of products, and all about the history of make up. I've really enjoyed reading it and I've found it really useful. If anyone can recommend any other make up books I'd love to hear them x

Because the voucher was so generous I also managed to get something else with just a tiny bit of funds added - the Mrs Browns Boys DVD - this was really for Mummy Lou, she loves Agnes Brown and thinks that she / he is hilarious so I chose this as a sort of family pressie - I have to say it is so funny especially he episode where grandad pretends to be dead lol

My blog absence happened to coincide with the entire festive season, and probably the worst flu bug I've had since oh maybe August ;) I'd planned to do a whole load of posts over Christmas and New Year but instead you've just got the one - first up a couple of festive snaps :)

Now some photos of the big day itself, I didn't take any of my pressies but I can assure you I was well and truly spoilt, I got lots of goodies from my wishlist including some MAC, and Chanel, some lovely D&G glasses and sooo many new nail polishes its untrue. Instead though the pictures are of my nails and my outfit - It's probably just as well that I've had no internet access my nails have been absolutely shocking, peeling, breaking you name it, I'm trying a few things to bring them round but in the meantime despite the short length my Christmas Day colour was the unfestive but super bright Nails Inc Shoreditch

The outfit was quite simple just a comfy dress and some black tights, no shoes just some pretty fair isle style slipper boots that I got for Christmas which unfortunately I forgot to picture x

Well 2011 was an interesting year wasn't it. It started off on a bit of a low with a hospital stay and my first ever broken bone, and continued with several more illness nightmares boo. On the beauty front though I had a good year I bought, received and tried lots of brilliant product, and some not so good ones, always the way though, you have to find a bit of coal before you find the gems (yes I admit it I'm addicted to Smurfs Village!)

Like every other year in 2011 I had a few aims and things I wanted to achieve, some I managed some I didn't, first up something I didn't do so well at my spending diet

So that's what I'm going to do 2012 will see the continuation of my spending diet / monthly spends, again I'll be trying to stick to a £40 monthly limit - I'll be honest though and say that January may already be a bit of a fail, mainly due to the release of Urban Decay Naked 2, and the return of my little laptop and online shopping access, no matter I'll still keep a record for you and I'll try my damnedest not to go crazy. I really want to try and save a bit of money this year so I'm definitely going to need a willpower boost.. Which brings me to my next 2011 challenge trimming my stash. Needless to say this is something else that I'm going to be continuing with in 2012, I got a whole load more make up and smellies for Christmas, so yet again the stash is at super scary levels. Thankfully January has started well and I already have a little pile of empties - I'll be taking pics of all my January empties so you can see how I'm doing despite that the I can even see the spectre of Project 10 Pan looming on the horizon, I'll keep you posted on when that's going to start ;)

So that was my year but what do I have in mind for 2012 well more of the same and a bit more besides - my first priority is to try and catch up on a few posts, alas some on my coming soons will have to bite the dust as I've lost photos that I simply cant replicate, other posts will just be longer in coming I'd been taking photos for months for certain posts and it's all gone - sob! Second priority is a general one to get more organised, that means more ebays, and a pile of shredding that will probably reach the moon - my head is too fuzzy to deal with confusion I need to get sorted. Thirdly I need to focus on me a bit, I sometimes get too wrapped up in other people and other things I'm starting the year with a few medical appointments to sort out some worrying new symptoms so I need to put me back as priority. That won't be too Mummy Lou's detriment though, she is due to have an operation at the beginning of February, so I'm going to need all the energy I have to care for her, me and the fur babies, so if I go a bit quiet again you'll know why x Finally I need to tackle my weight, there are lots of reasons why I gain weight and why it's hard for me to lose it but I can't use that as an excuse, I need to try and find something that works for me - again that's something I'll keep you posted on .

So that was 2011 and that is hopefully 2012, I've really appreciated the kind words and support from you guys over the last 12 months I know I go off on tangents and I can be a whinging moo cow on occasions but you guys have stuck with me and for that I will be eternally grateful - LouLouLand isn't just a beauty and fashion blog, it's about LouLou and I really appreciate you for realising that x I'd love to know if you have any aims or resolutions for 2012, please let me know in the comments and I'll see you tomorrow with a few pics from Christmas and New Year xx

I'm Back

Hi Guys
A huge, huge apology for my rather extended absence - if you follow me on twitter you'll know that laptop gate went on for much longer than anticipated, culminating in a profuse apology on Saturday morning and the return of my laptop this evening , yes that's right on a Sunday!
The good news obviously is that my laptops back the bad news is that everything has gone, my pictures, my programmes, the works :( It's my own fault I guess I won't make the mistake of not backing up again, but I'm so annoyed pet photos, family pics, and of course blog photos all gone. So I guess I'm starting from scratch, first up I'm going to need some new office and photo editing software, here's hoping the compensation from the repair company covers that hmm, so in the meantime I'm hoping you'll continue to stick around whilst I get the whole blogging thing going again. I have lots of posts in my head so hopefully I'll start getting some up this week, including a post on 2011 and some of my aims for 2012, a post on some lovely bloggers, a nice surprise, and some OOTD and NOTD pics from Christmas. Which reminds me Happy Christmas and Happy New Year Guys, I'm so sorry I've missed the full festive season but don't worry my planned Christmas giveaway will happen as soon as I get myself sorted, so you can look at it as a sort of thank you :) So thank you my lovely followers for your patience and thanks to all the relevant PR companies and so on for being so understanding - now if you'll excuse me I have 4,000 emails to deal with ;) x See you soon x

A Million Apologies

Right guys I'm going to apologise in advance I had so many posts planned in the run up to Christmas but it probably isn't going to happen now. Basically I've had a crappy day, it started off with a nagging sore throat, progressed to my near on losing my voice, and when I got home my laptop wouldn't work. Thankfully we've been paying for cover so they are coming to pick it up on Wednesday and I won't get anything back until 21st December. I'm crossing my fingers so, so tight that they manage to fix it without losing any of my data, I have blog photos for about the next 3 months ready and prepped, as well as loads of cat pics and family pics that I haven't backed up :( If they can't fix it I will get a replacement but still :( Anyways I'm not going to be posting much if at all, I've managed to get my ancient desktop just about working, but I can't do more than one thing at once with it as it's so old and slow. I have a couple of finished posts I may be able to get up but until my laptop is replaced or fixed I'm going to be AWOL. I am absolutely gutted that I can't do everything I have planned, I promise I will still post everything I had planned and my giveaway will take place as soon as I'm up and running again. Nails Of The Day - Holiday Glow

Hey my loves it's time for another nails of the day post and this one is from a previous OPI Holiday Collection

Holiday Glow is a brown tone, with lots and lots of gold sparkle. I guess in comparison to the majority of OPI's this isn't the best formulation wise, it's quite sheer so you need a few coats, I used 3 coats here on the majority of nails, and 4 on a couple that still looked a bit streaky. Apologies in advance for the hang nails and the bad paint job my cuticles are a disgrace :(

Brown probably isn't the first colour you'd think of when it comes to Christmas, but the gold sparkle gives this shade a festive touch. What do you think of Holiday Glow?

I remember getting lots and lots of colds and sniffles when I was little, nothing much has changed there I guess ;), and my mum was always there with the bottle of Olbas Oil, Either on a tissue under my pillow, or in a bowl of water to help me to breathe more easily. That little bottle of oil really was a godsend, but it wasn't always the most practical thing,

A New Arrival In LouLouLand

If you follow me on twitter you'll know that last night I posted a few strange tweets, I was sitting in the car, in the freezing cold in the middle of nowhere waiting for Mummy Lou to come out of a strange house - why? well she was collecting my Christmas present!

Isn't he gorgeous :) His name is Charlie and he's about 8 weeks old. I'd pleaded no begged for another cat, and eventually she gave in. It's funny she'd taken Tallulah for her jabs a couple of weeks ago and she'd noticed the local RSPCA kitten rescue poster and she couldn't resist telling me about the kitten in the picture, I wanted no needed it! Imagine her surprise when she want to the kitten foster home (the strange house!) and the kitten they had for her was the kitten from the poster!

He's gorgeous, he's a semi long hair, and is white, with silver grey and ginger tabby markings, and he has the most gorgeous green eyes. He's quite thin and he has the teeniest little head but the longest body, legs and tail I've ever seen on a kitten

He's pretty nervous at the moment and has taken to hiding behind the Christmas Tree, but we've had a nice little cuddle and he's purred. The lady said he'd need a bit of he was very loving but he'd need a bit of coaxing so were just letting him have his space at the moment.

What about the other 3, well Jasper keeps trying to sniff him and make friends, Jake is being his usual jealous self and keeps growling at him, and Tallulah seems terrified of him and keeps decamping upstairs to my bedroom. Still it's early days,he's only been in the house since 6pm yesterday, so we're all getting used to each other. I know people will say why do you need four cats?well I have lots of furry love to go round and I'm proud to be a mad cat lady :) Huge thanks to my mam, and of course Father Christmas for my new addition :)

Nails Of The Day - Feeling Blue

I wouldn't say I'm feeling blue, more tired and exhausted with way too much to do as per usual, but as you know I love blue nail varnish and I never need any excuse to wear it

I love the colour and the effect but maybe I should have attempted something easier when I wasn't feeling up to it. What do you think of magnetized polish?

My MAC Collection - Beauty Powders, MSF's, and More

I thought it was about time for a new post in my MAC collection series, and sorry for sounding a little arrogant but this one was worth waiting for. I've really enjoyed having a play with this little lot, and I've definitely rediscovered a few forgotten gems. So what's this post about, my MSF,s, my Beauty Powders, my blusher kits, loose cheek colours, and some more blushers :) - basically cheek colour porn!

We'll start Mineralized Skin Finishes - I have 6 of these, well actually 7 I have a back up of Lightscapade :) but I have to say these 3 are my favourites and probably the ones I use most often

From Left to Right - By Candlelight, Lightscapade and Porcelain Pink - These are definitely my 3 favourites and I tend to wear these for highlighting etc. at least 80 percent on the time. I do own 3 others but I definitely haven't shown them as much love as I should, maybe now is the time to step out of my comfort zone - From Left To Right - Redhead, Semi Precious Rose Quartz, and Petticoat

I probably should have included this next item in my blusher post, but I've put it here instead, it is in fact the only Mineralize Blush, that I own, and I'm sure if you've read my blog for sometime you'll know which one it is...

Moon River of course, originally released with the Grand Duo's collection, this is one of my go to, shimmery winter blushers, the lovely icy pink / peach looks especially lovely on my skin when I'm pale. As you can see I've made a bit of a dent in this one, but no need to panic I have a back up :)

This next item of beauty is a Blush Ombre, I know these were much talked about when they were originally released in 2010 as part of the Spring Color Forecast collection but it wasn't Ripe Peach that I went for, instead it was Azalea Blossom

This blush has the most amazing texture it is so smooth and velvety, I love the colour too, an icy purple and a gorgeous pale, mix together to create the most amazing blue toned pink, again a really nice colour to use on my skin in the winter months x If you love this blush, you'll be pleased to know that it is set to make a reappearance next year in the MAC Daphne Guinness collaboration :)

Perhaps one of the most popular and released cheek products in the MAC range, has to be Beauty Powders. I have quite a few of these mainly in limited edition designs and limited edition packaging, dare I say it though they all seem to be in very similar colours - whoops! First up the Beauty Powders from MAC Venomous Villains

From Left To Right - Oh So Fair, Briar Rose and Her Own Devices, I probably use Briar Rose the least, but it's such a pretty pink I definitely need to show it some more love x Next two more Beauty Powders in limited edition packaging

On the left, Shell Pearl from Give Me Liberty Of London and on the right, Pretty Baby from Hello Kitty. These look quite similar in the picture but they are a little different in real life Shell Pearl is a peach tone with lots of gold pearl, and Pretty Baby is more of a soft nude pink, with a tiny bit of gold shimmer. If I'm being honest I don't use this Pretty Baby that often, I know I'm sad but I don't want to ruin the Hello Kitty design. Finally 2 Beauty Powders that aren't in limited edition packaging, but like Pretty Baby they do features an embossed design

I have to be honest and say that some Beauty Powders aren't the most pigmented, and this is particularly evident here. On the left is Blush Of Youth from Rose Romance, it's a gorgeous pale pink shade but the pigmentation is so bad you have to almost scrape it to get some coverage. On the right is Alpha Girl, I got this one from Fashion Flower so you can see the lovely floral, embossing on the powder, again the pigmentation isn't great but its a lovely peachy, coral shade.

Now for a few of the miscellaneous cheek products I have, first up an Iridescent Pressed Powder

Originally released with Fafi For MAC, Verve-Acious, is lovely yellow gold with loads of sparkle in it. Despite all the glitter and sparkle I'm surprised at how much of this I've actually used. It's really pretty but it isn't really something you can wear in the daytime, it's just a bit too glittery for that.

Speaking of sparkles and glitter, I also own the MAC Hocus Focus Colourful Face Kit, part of the 2009 Holiday Collection.

From left to right this kit contains, Pretty Baby, and Sunsparked Pearl Beauty Powders, and Peachykeen Powder Blush. This kit has some really nice shades in it, and it's one I use quite a bit, oh and this is the Pretty Baby I use so I don't destroy my Hello Kitty design :)

From pressed powders to loose ones starting with something long discontinued, a Pearlizer Sheer Pigment from the 2005 Belle Azure collection

Hundered Degrees Pearlizer is something I had forgotten about, but I'm really glad to have rediscovered it, it's a gorgeous champagne, pink shade great for highlighting eyes or cheeks.

Finally a product that can be used either as a highlighter, or as a finishing powder, Magically Cool Liquid Powder

I originally purchased this from the Venomous Villains collection, but I believe it's now a permanent item. The colour I have is Truth and Light, a sheer neutral with a subtle silver and pink shimmer. I predominantly use this as a very light highlight but you can also use it as an all over finishing powder for a glowy, healthy finish. The formulation is a bit of a gimmick to be honest but it is nice and cool applying it in the summer. I've heard a few stories about the cool effect wearing off when the tub has been open a while but I've had mine for over a year now and it's still fie, I think the key is not to dispense too much product at once :)

So that's the rest of my MAC cheek colour collection, quite substantial I'm sure you'll agree, if I'm being honest I don't think I really need anymore, in fact I've even started to buy pretty similar colours which is always a bad sign. Nails Of The Day - Fawning Over Formidable

Looking through my nail polish collections it's quite obvious that I love a bit of sparkle, be it bright full on bling or as in this case sparkle with a bit of a gothic twist

Released as part of the MAC Venomous Villains collection Formidable is a bit of a funny one, officially described as a teal green with pigments, to me it looks like more of a purple /burgundy shades, with teal sparkles shot though it, whatever the colour is I still love it :)

I'm only sorry that my little Samsung point and shoot in combination with the winter light can't capture this one in it's true glory - what do you think?

Disaster In December - Haulage From Last Weeks Metro Centre Trip, Parcels From This Week and More

and Parcels OK Guys I'm going to be very, very honest with you, we're less than a week into December and already my spending has gone way over my limit - as per usual the culprit was my annual festive shopping trip with my godmother last Thursday. I did manage to buy an awful lot of Christmas pressies but at the same time I bought a few little bits for me, starting in a most unexpected place, Poundland

I used to be a total snob when I was younger and used to mortified when my mum went into Poundland or any other discount type store but age has it's benefits, and one them is loving a bargain. So what can you see in the picture, well first up nails wraps, as I said in my last haul post I'm planning a post on nail wraps, and given that most UK dwellers can access Poundland I thought these would be a good cheap brand to try, mine have little flutterbys on them. Also in the pic Poundlands own ouchless hair bobbles and a bit of a silly one, Hello Kitty plasters!

Aren't they sweet, I almost, yes almost want to cut my finger in order to give them a go lol

I've always loved stationary, just the feeling of new paper or opening a new notebook makes me happy, so when I saw this in The Works I added it to my pile of pressies and concentrated on the words and stroked the pages during a 20 minute wait in the queue !!!

Strangely I didn't buy shoes, but I did buy some Lush, I love Lush especially at Christmas, I really think it's one of the best shops to shop in the sales assistants are always so helpful, - there Christmas bags are so sweet this year aren't they, there's even space to write to and from on, instant gift wrapping :), so shall we see what's in the bags :)

First up something I first heard about on twitter, Magic Wand, a super cute bubble bar which smells of Snow Fairy, the assistant showed my exactly how to use it in order to get more than one use out of it - yummy!

Sticking to the Snow Fairy theme I also got the Snow Fairy Lip Tint. This smells amazing and tastes amazing too. It looks quite scary in the pot but it's actually a lovely pale pink on the lips

Then I got one of my favourite ever Lush products, Christmas Eve Bubble Bar, I love this it's quite floral but at the same time really calming, I always use it on Christmas Eve

Finally from Lush I got one of the new types of bubble bars Bubbleroons , that are supposedly extra moisturising, the one I got was Rose Jam, again it smells lovely but what does this look like to you?

Yup my mum thinks it looks like either a bottom or a ladies cleavage - naughty Lush lol - I have to say the smell from this little lot, and the things I got as gifts is amazing my room smells gorgeous!

If your a Body Shop Love Your Body card holder you'll know that from Thursday - Saturday they had a whole load of special offers, well guess what happened, I took the mailing I'd been sent with me but I forgot my Love Your Body card! I have to say the girl behind the counter was amazing from the details on the mailing she phoned the head office and got my details so she could give me the 30% discount! Obviously I didn't get my stamps but she really went above and beyond to save me some money, so thanks that lady in the larger Body Shop in the Metro Centre :) Anyways I'd actually spent quite a bit of money on other people but I did manage to grab a few bits for me

Tea Tree Toner - a real essential for me at the minute I really think it makes a difference when I use it on my t-zone

I also got something else I'd heard about via twitter - The Sparkler - I love the vintage look perfume bottle dispenser. I got the gold version but they also do a pink one. Basically it's lovely shimmery powder, gorgeous for the decolletage and the shoulders :) and great for the party season x

Because I'd spent more than £15 I could buy one of the new, full sized Candied Ginger Body Butter which normally retails at £12.50 for just £1.00, well I wasn't going to say no was I ;)

I don't know of your going to be following my disastrous monthly spends total in the sidebar but I have to be honest and admit that the Body Shop total is a bit of an estimate, on the receipt they only show the total saving instead of what you've saved on each item, if anything I've been a bit generous, I probably spent less than that - that's my story and I'm sticking to it ;)

I had to go into Boots, I can't go past one without going in, but I have to say, I was a bit overawed - despite continuing to purchase make up I can really say myself hitting the wall before long, I just wasn't that desperate to buy anything so I bought a few gifts, and just one thing - the 17 Magnetized Polish in Blue

I love the green one I have (click here to see the post ) and I love blue so I needed this one in my life, I also bought something else from 17 for someone else so I qualified for a free gift - wahoo

The gift is actually pretty decent, you get a cute little cosmetics bag, containing a mini nail file, and 3 nail colours Risky Red, Nightshade and the Glitter Topcoat - really nice shades for the festive and party season x

I looked in a few clothes shops but nothing appealed, so I picked up a few jewellery bits including this huge ring from Primark

So that was it apart from an essential for me, Superdrug nail polish remover. Superdrug on the whole like Boots was a disappointment, loads of things but nothing I wanted to buy, no that's not strictly true the MUA stand was nigh on empty so I may have took advantage of their new website when I got home, more on that to come :), and they even heard of Look Beauty hmmm. Anyways that was my ickle, well not so ickle Metro Centre haul, but as you've already guessed that wasn't all I've placed a few orders on ze internet over the last week too - slaps wrists!
From a Boots parcel of Christmas gifts I sneaked in 3 bottles of the Botanics Soothing Eye Make Up Remover, I justified this purchase because all the Botanics skincare was on 3 for 2, not the most exciting purchase but I use so much of this stuff it's always worth picking some up when it's on offer. That purchase may not be that exciting, but this one is ;)

Yes a rare site for me in 2011, a MAC order! I only ordered two things one things I wanted and the other one on a bit of whim. First up the object of my desire from the MAC Gareth Pugh collaboration, Ascension nail polish.

Ok lets cut to the chase, the couture collections are always beautifully packaged but stupidly expensive and this one is no different. £19 for a nail polish is pretty steep in my eyes, but the beautiful packaging and the even more beautiful colour certainly made up for the scary price

I don't think I've managed to capture the colour that well, but Ascension is the must beautiful oil on water, iridescent duo chome polish of amazingness I've seen I really can't wait to pop it on my nails :)

To be honest that was all I was planning on buying, but I had a little peak at the Goodbyes section and the MAC site and I purchased something on a bit of a whim

Nubile Paintpot looks like a proper neutal beige in the pot, not dissimilar to Layin Low, but when you swatch it has a lovely nude pink tone, which I think will make a great eyeshadow base

I don't know when MAC started putting samples in their parcels, but I was lucky enough to get one in this order, I got a mini, and I mean mini Zoom Lash Mascara -it's tiny !

The final parcel I recieved this week was a little sneaky QVC purchase, I've loved this ladies jewellery since I first saw it, so when I spied this gorgeous little ring in clearance I had to have it

It's the petite posey ring by a jewellery designer named Kimberly Selwood, I love it, it's really small and so cute x
So yeah that was my haulage over the last seven days, scary eh! and would you believe that may not by the end of the months spending, I'm still waiting for a few parcels for buyapowa, and from MUA and I'm going to the Metro Centre in the next day or so!- Heads to the naughty step in disgrace lol.
