Brumbo the Bumblebee Kid!
Been wanting to make a Bumblebee kid for awhile, finally found the time!
Brumbo's favorite thing in the world, is the bumblebee. Unlike most children who run or scream when a bee is near the, Brumbo is fascinated. He loves their color, and how they look fuzzy and soft. Every year he demands to be a bumblebee for Halloween, and refuses to be anything else.
Up for grabs here!

Wow I haven't posted in over a month. I am horrible!
Things have been busy busy on my end! Moved into a pretty sweet new place in Boston, & check out my new workspace!

Ginko the Glow in the Dark Bear!

I'd been meaning to buy glow in the dark thread for a long time now, and I finally got some last week! I made one of my sold Grizzly Bear kid designs into a big, neon green, glow-in-the-dark pillow!

The boyfriend, best friend & I modeled it. :D

It's so biggg! 20 inches across. Makes an awesome pillow. :)

Plush You! LA & other work

Finished my monsters for the Plush You! show opening TOMORROW NIGHT! in Los Angeles! More info about the show here: http://www.munkyking.com/gallery_events.php?id=112 I wanted to make three but I spent so much time on the big yellow guy I ran out of time :(

He's got six eyes, and little felt flowers on the front, back & a few on the tentacles.

He's haaaauuuuge! Biggest monstroctopus I've made so far I think. (:

Two Nannerpuses with pancakes! I also put them up as made to order in my shop, and you can get as many pancakes as you want with it!

Love yeti! Requested for a wedding present for Laura of PronouncedYou based off of her yeti character. :)

Two koalas! Both requested at around the same time by different people. Top one was for a "Sleepy blue love koala" & the one at the bottom is for an "evil drop bear koala"

I saved the pattern for them so I'm also taking custom orders if you wish! :)

Campin/Beach trip!

Part of the reason I haven't updated my blog in awhile is because I was busy having an awesome campin' trip with these awesome people!

My two favorite babes in the world came, my best friend (middle), & my little sister! (right) We all spent our days at the beach, and our nights in the woods!

Went swimmin, sand castle makin, drinkin & wiffle ball playin on the beach in the beginning of Cape Cod!

Only downside to this trip was right after this lovely family photo, my friends yanked me out with all their man strength from the sand & I heard a loud POP, that was my ankle. It felt okay until the next day when it blew up and swelled and now it hurts to turn. OH WELL. Worth it.

Almost got kicked out on our last night from being loud & obnoxious until the sun came up. We had faced our tents together like a little two part tent home & couldn't stop laughing & giggling until the park man came down & yelled at us to stop "laughing like chickens with our heads cut off!"

I ALSO have been lax on updating because I'm moving (Yes, again!) in 9 days! To Boston, MA & I couldn't be more pumped. My apartment costs a lot more for a lot less space but it makes up for it in that there are things to do, and many friends around to hang out with!

Soooooo I'll probably be doing another moving sale within the next few days. Won't be getting rid of as much stuff as before but there will be a good amount.

Biggg shop update, interviews & giveaways!

I just got a ridiculous amount of work back from a gallery & am slowly putting it up on my shop!

Four owlets (only one left now!), four love yetis (three left, each come with a valentine!), three love drizzles (two left), two monsters (one left!), two keychains (both sold), five packs of stickers (two claimed), three pairs of earrings, and a big monstroctopus!

The Valentines are my favorite part of these! I handmade these with colored paper & sharpies, and the inside of each has a different yeti related love poem. :D

Look what showed up at my house last week! The most amazing gigantic nautilus plush made by the most amazing Danielle! (Check out her stufffff)

In exchange for this masterful sea creature I made her a Catopus based off of her real life cat, Guppy! What an appropriate name for a Cat octopus :D

I loved it so much, I did not want to give it away. But it's in a better place now, look how pumped Danielle & Guppy were to receive it! :D

New Recent Work!

Haven't been able to pump out those plushies as often as I usually do due to these two recent huge commissions, & due to a lot of off time visiting family!

Here's the first one I finished recently, MUMM-RA, the everlivingggggg!

For those of you who know who he is, you're awesome, but for those who don't, don't feel too bad. Here's a video of him the way he really looks:

He's the villian from an old cartoon show I loove called the Thundercats!

He's huge and huggable! I forgot to measure him before I sent him out to his new home, but you can tell by this photo how large he is. :D

Oh wow it's been over a month! Tons of apologies for being a horrible blog lady!

I have good reason for being gone so long, though. I moved out of my place in NH, and stayed in CT for a month to visit family & go to my little sisters high school graduation & grad parties! Now I'm in MA in my two month temporary home, saving up for the big Seattle move. :D I already miss my family & friends back home in CT in anticipation of being so far away from them.

Today has been full of a lot of sewing....

& a lot of packing! (This isn't all I've done, haha)

My mom, Dave's dad, and two friends are coming up soon all to help us move our stuff out to our new temporary summer home with our friend Dan in MA! We put off packing for a biiiiit too long and we're down to the last few days to get everything boxed up.

Monsters & Maker Faire

Look at all these monsters I've made recently, aagghhhh!

Made a bunch of newborn monsters for my shop, and other people's shops. These ones are currently in my shop, some sold, and some new ones added as well! Some of these will be relisted, and some of them are one-of-a-kinds.

Also made 14 monsters, 13 little ones and one big one to send to the Plush Team's table at the upcoming Maker Faire!

If you live in the Bay Area, you really need to go to the Maker Faire on May 22nd & 23rd to check out the Plush Team's table! Other members of the Plush Team are going to be teaching 5 classes throughout the two days on plush making! Go to their blog to find out more about it. :)

Also wanted to post a closeup of these two new monstroctopi... Aggi & Oggi! Aggi (the orangey one) is in my shop currently, and Oggi is on its way to California for the Maker Faire! I will be putting a remade version of him up on my shop shortly, though.

Also working on! This huge Mumm-Ra plush to go with the Lion-o one I made awhile back. He's so much work, but hopefully he'll be great!

It's been so beautiful out lately... I love spring! It makes me wanna...

My New Puppy!

I missed the Monster Monday & New work posts this week because of this little wonderful ball of fluff!

Meet Khan! The newest little fluffball of our family. Australian Shepherd mix pup. :D

We drove 2 hours into New Hampshire to get her, totally worth it! She's so much different than our other dog, Weeko (Who is still wonderful) She's so outgoing and troublesome, getting into everything, and loving everybody!

Only 8 weeks old & I can't wait to see what she looks like when she's all grown up.

Poor Weeko was so stressed out when Khan came into her home, but now I think they'll be good buds, and that's awesome. :D

& I also put a little video of her up on youtube (I know, I'm obsessed, & there will be more too)

New Work on Wednesday

Not as much work this week as I'd like to show, but I've been working hard on two big plush for an awesome show!

The show is The Last Unicorn Art show, featuring lots of artists creating pieces based off of the movie! The show opens this Friday in Chicago! (More info here: http://thelastunicornartshow.blogspot.com/ )

Some of my favorite artists, Steph Laberis, Lana Crooks & Kat Brunnegraff & more will all have pieces at this show! I'm honored to be in a show with them. :D

Anyway, here's what I made for it!
I made the main character of the movie, the unicorn, in an inbetween state of her human & unicorn forms.

& the enemy of the movie, the Red Bull! Used fur all around the back and body to mimic the look of his body made of fire.

They're both about 13 inches tall, with jointed arms!

Also made a custom colored Engred. :D

& made this creature for my friend Tom, based off an illustration of him

& 10 little monster babies for A Little Stranger's new online shop! They're not up now, still in transit to her, but they will be soon so check back!

& My Last Unicorn plush is also up against some really awesome work in the Plush Team Mythology Contest! I would really appreciate people voting on this! Vote for your favorites in each category! :)

Took most of the day off from sewing anything because it was SO DAMN WONDERFUL OUT!
Went into the woods with the pup and took a bunch of pictures there/in our backyard. :D

The camera died a little bit after that, but then I got a new battery & took pictures with my new tripod while we hung out in the beautiful beautiful sun. Man I missed it.

Good good good lovely wonderful fun. :D
