Peplums. I think peplums have officially made their way to every women's Spring/Summer wardrobe must-have list, it has certainly made its way to the top of mine! Designers all over the world such as McQueen, Kenzo, Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, J Crew, Cushnie et Ochs, Jason Wu and Vera Wang have taken the 40's inspired trend and created their own version of the flare. The peplum has definitely been an element of fashion that designers have a lot of fun with for next seasons collections.

Each designer has made their statement and rightly so, its one trend that is standing out in big way. Designers have revived the look from either being very subtle like Cushnie et Ochs by taking the minimalist route or to being extravagant like Kenzo or Jason Wu by either being voluptuous or oversized.

I admire these three fashionistas all for very different reasons but most of all they are people in the industry that get me absolutely inspired to go out and find that special piece that no one else would actually buy and totally pull it off whether it be a ring or a pair of McQueen avant garde heels.

Taylor just exudes self-assurance and power in the way she puts herself together. She is always wearing an ensemble that is grand, feisty, full of edge with a smooth softness which is evident in each of the images below. Taylor creates a lot of polarity by taking tough, rugged textures and marrying them with subtle, gentle fabrics or dynamic tones such as lime green or azure.

She is without a doubt in my mind going to be one of the most influential people in the industry for many years to come.

Shala is another lady who is completely on her on own platform with regards to fashion and style. What , I love about Shala's style is that she brings out her African roots in some way or form with pretty much everything she wears which clearly shows that she is passionate about where she comes from. She mostly certaintly has a beautiful and rustic palette to work from as the African feel is like no other. Myself being from South Africa, I can relate to the why she would want to embrace the art of it.

Shala knows exactly how to use colour to her advantage and how to have fun with it. I'm sure you have already noticed by peering over the images that she is the Prada Queen and rightly so. She wears each and every collection with such poise and ease as if it was solely created just for her.

Now, Miss Imfancy is young and on the way to style stardom to say the least. I discovered her not long ago during one of my daily research sessions and she absolutely caught my eye. I love looking her blog and always look forward to her new features portraying her personal vibe. If I had to sum up her up one word it would be..FOXY.

Just yesterday I was doing my daily Vogue.com reading and I came across an updated article announcing the official dates for Louis Vuitton's highly anticipated Marc Jacobs exhibition at Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris. The exhibition will be curated by Pam Golbin and the show will comprise of both Jacob's and Vuitton's contribution to the fashion industry but as well as separately. This is one exhibition I would love to attend. The best excuse for a weekend Paris trip...yes I am dreamer at heart.

Ok I need to word myself carefully here....I have never really been absolutely wowed by Karl Lagerfeld's designs for Chanel in the past, I know exactly what you thinking, that Im dilly. Well recently I came across his Paris-Bombay collection and all I can say is....beyond CHIC!!!

My heart is melting for this collection...from the intricate details of the handbags to the hand painted India inspired suit jacket buttons to the henna design fingerless gloves - his designs are GENIUS!

Bringing the East and combining it with the classiness/new age modern Chanel is seriously beautiful. I cant stop staring at each image because every time I look closer I find something new.

Karl has managed to let me fall in love....

Deep Sea

The fashion influencers have taken the deep sea route and they have certainly taken it to a level of exceptional design and conceptual borders. There are numerous designers that have used the under the sea as a source of creative inspiration for their S/S12 collections but the three designers who I believe who really embraced the beauty of nature this season is definitely Alexander McQueen, Versace and Chanel. All three designers have taken nature either put it into its most pure form or taken sea creatures characteristics to the extreme. The one element that McQueen, Versace and Chanel have in common with their collections is that they all added that ethereal feel which creates such an ambience of power and elegance.

I think Fanny Lyckman is pretty incredible...her blog has officially made its way to the top my daily blog reading material. Miss Lyckman has dynamic style with a lot of edge and sexiness. I thought this eve I would do a feature including her. I recently bought a flowing maxi skirt (which reminds me I need to show all of you) well because, I love it so much I wanted to do a feature on sheer maxi skirts. Maxi skirts are such a fab way to make a dramatic statement in the most simple way possible.

A few weeks ago, I candy started following me on Twitter...as we all do we check out who is following us because you can never know the interesting people that you can come across in the ever exciting social networking world. Icandy so happened to be a founded by two South African, Cape Town girls which obviously drew me into their website even more (me being South African and all) than just their wonderful online jewelry business. I had a look at all their designs and I thought to myself, I just have to do a feature on Liesl and Carlinn.

The same day I contacted them on Twitter with regards to doing a interview feature with them as I thought it would be a fab compliment to my next Fall/Winter ring feature. 1. What made you want to start up your very own online boutique and when did you start up?

From a very young age we have always been attracted to beautiful things and the fact that our mom was a fashion designer definitely contributed
to our love of fashion. We have always dreamed of having our own fashion boutique, but thought we would take a chance at starting an online store as
it is an emerging market in South Africa and we felt that there is a real gap in the market for an online jewellery, accessories and clothing boutique. We only started up about two months ago.

2. Do you have any advice for younger girls out there who are interested in opening up a fashion business?

Firstly you will have to do quite a bit of research on your product, your market and you have to be passionate about what you do. The fashion world is a tough one to crack, but never give up and believe in yourself!

3. How do you watch the trends and How do you go about choosing your jewelry collections?

We get a lot of our inspiration from overseas fashion blogs and then adding our own personal style to that.Being sisters helps a lot as we understand each other and have similar styles, though not the same. We base our jewelry collections on seasonal trends and just our love of fabulous finds!

4. For next seasons collection what lines of jewelry are you looking to bring in?

We are looking at getting jewelry in jewel-tones, chunky neck pieces and big cocktail rings!

5. Do you have any future developments for I candy,if so what are they?

We would like to design and manufacture our own line of clothing

6. How did the name I candy come about?

We actually came up with the name quite some time ago. Being such great fans of everything gorgeous and pretty, we wanted our name to say just that. I candy must be a visual feast for everyone.

7. What roles do the both of you play in your fashion business?

We usually just share all the tasks between us.

8. What is your favourite ring in your collection and why?

A sure favourite is our gold tone double-cross studded ring!! It really makes a statement and can be dressed up or down.

9. What trend do you think will be prominent foe next Spring/Summer?

Colour blocking will probably move over into being more pastel orientated, animal print will still stay strong and lots of gold.

The Versace for H&M collection has finally arrived and selling out like hot cakes!

I saw the collection in the H&M window the other night in Glasgow, its looks absolutely gorgeous! My favourite piece from the collection is without a doubt the patterned silk two-piece comprising a top and skirt. Halterneck top with fringes, a silicone trim at the top on the inside and a concealed zip at the side. It has the iconic Versace shape and elements to it which is exactly what you want when you buying from the brand.
