Game 1: Guess the Hall of Famer

On one of the walls, we created a collage of major athlete’s baby pictures. Guests were asked to guess who’s who among our baby Hall of Fame.

Game 2: Diaper Field Goal

We created a goal post using pvc pipe and ran a green plastic table cover with markers to indicate the different kick off points. Using a rolled up diaper, participants had to kick the diaper within the goal post to move on to the next round.

3. Faceketball

My favorite game we played was one I saw on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon called Faceketball. A Basketball hoop was attached to each participants forehead. The first to make 3 baskets with a rolled up diaper wins.

4. The Shopping List – Baby’s Craving…

This game was more of a traditional baby shower game. Groups were given a list of items baby had craved throughout the pregnancy. Armed with a mini shopping cart, they raced around the room to be the first to fill it up with all of the baby’s goodies.

What motivates guests to play? The prizes! Any sports fan can appreciate a good burger from one of California’s best fast food chains, In-N-Out. Hope our list of sports themed baby shower games gave you inspiration for your next baby shower!

Dessert Table Highlights:

• The table centerpiece was a custom cake incorporating all the main sports and topped with a ball cap with the words “Future All Star”.
• A hand carved football helmet from a large watermelon was the perfect detail to our fruit tray.
• A Handmade snack bar banner and team flags with the baby’s first initial brought a pop of color to the table.
• Dad-to-be offered his Dodger bobble heads to incorporate his favorite baseball team to the shower.

By the end of the day, not one “snack” was left in sight. Guests left with full bellies and happy hearts awaiting the arrival of team Mirasol’s newest member.

My sister-in-law and her husband were happily expecting their second child, a baby boy. Since dad-to-be is a huge sports fan, we decided that the perfect baby shower theme would be an All-Star Baby Shower. We chose a vintage color scheme of light blue, red and white. Most of the table decor was repurposed from previous events with the addition of mini sports balls, peanuts, and handmade team flags. The walls were decorated with different team jerseys while the football goal post, one of our game props, served as the focal point of the room. Every last detail set the mood for one exciting sports filled baby shower.

Party Highlights:

• Being that dad’s favorite teams are the Cowboys and Dodgers, we created a custom invite incorporating both team’s logos.
• Handmade team flags with baby’s first initial “W” decorated the room.
• A hand carved watermelon football helmet was the perfect detail to our fruit tray.
• Guests were sent home with baby blue bottles tied with red ribbons and filled with Baby Ruth chocolates as party favors.
• Tables were decorated with diaper cakes and popcorn tub centerpieces incorporating all the major sports: baseball, football and basketball.
• Guests were treated to a “Tailgate” menu filled with game day food and a “Snack Bar” brimming with salty and sweet snacks and desserts to munch on throughout the party.

• The Celebrant’s black and white gown was a showstopper and her custom black and red hairpiece was a gorgeous pop of color.
• Tall feather centerpieces lit up from the base brought some lovely decor and lighting to the affair.
• Ferrero Rocher name cards served as a beautiful place setting as well as a delicious treat.
• Guests were asked to leave a special birthday wish and to hang it on a dressing screen, quite a unique guest book.

The night was filled with live music and special performances, a night to be remembered for many years.

This fun table features all the lovable characters from the movie against a red, yellow and black and white checkered color palette.
