Boracay Trip with my Love

Boracay!

They say you haven't experienced the real "Beach" Experience until you experience what Boracay has to offer.

I need not explain more about it as long as you don't shorten it - It's BORACAY people, not Bora ;)

We left Manila (NAIA 3) on a ATR72 Plane of Cebu Pacific. We needed to ride a shuttle to get us boarded on the plane.

and I got the window seat - just beside the propeller! Damn that looks scary!!!

Not long enough, our plane took off to MPH (Godofredo Ramos Airport) in Caticlan. It was a very swift landing by the Japanese Pilot that almost everyone onboard the plane applauded. I only got one complain, the A/C is not cool!!!

At the airport, they already organized the payment procedures - Trike ride, Boat Ride, Environmental Fee.

So we boarded this cool cabbie which operates like a plane. It is solar-powered, thus environmental friendly!

At the Cagban Port, we paid an additional of 50php for the Terminal Fee. In less than 30 minutes, we arrived at the Port in Boracay Island.

We rode a trikey on our way to our hotel in Station 1, Boracay Beach Club. It costed us 100php.

Upon arrival, the hotel staff gave us welcome drinks (Four Seasons Cold drink and Cold Towels!) Wow! They are awesome!

We were informed that they upgraded our room request to a General Suites Room for free! Yey! We had to wait for some time for the room to get cleaned up - it was only 11:00am anyway.

So yeah, little did Aris knew.. I prepared something very sweet for him!!!! The hotel staff were very accomodating to assist me in my special requests. :)

After the room was ready, Aris stayed in shock of what he saw: TADA!!!!

Rose Petals sprawled on our bed! Weee.. It was my surprise for him :)

He almost looked teary eyed upon seeing this.

So yeah, that was just the beginning of our Romantic Boracay Getaway!

We got so hungry that we headed straight to D'Mall to have lunch. We ate at Smoke Restaurant - they got cheap food finds with heavy servings. Aris got his Chili Chicken while I got the Chili Garlic Pork.

We strolled around D'Mall to buy early our Pasalubongs. I had a shopping galore around - without sunblock! Waaahh.

I got excited of the beach so I ran directly to the shore - weeeeee!!!! Can't wait to dip in there!

So we decided to return to our hotel to change our swimming attire. There I got a fix of Ice Monster. I used to adore this cool treat but now its - BLAH! I would prefer fruitshake over this expensive treat.

We got the chance to swim in the aftie - it was sooo refreshing! and at 5pm, we had our Paraw Sailing for free thanks to Boracay Beach Club - no pictures though, I don't have a waterproof cam, sadly.

After that experience of getting close to the sunset, we walked by the shore of Station 1 and found these Sand Castles secretly built by the kiddos. You just have to pay them "donations" as a form of appreciation.

The following day, it was my love's birthday - Happy Birthday Aristotle Ruidera!!!!

We had a lovely breakfast beachfront of Station 1. Little did he know again, I have a surprise for him! :)

I asked the hotel staff to buy a cake for him but it turned out to have a writing - Mafi which means nothing.

Oh well, he liked it anyway :)

He was so happy I can see it in his eyes.

So we started this day with a Buggy Ride! Of course, Aristotle's gonna drive it :)

We went to 2 places - Everland Aviary and Ocean Tower. The entrance fee was so expensive though.

On our way back to Red Coral, there's a parade like of ATV Riders!

After the ride, we prepared for our Ariel's Point Trip - we got a discounted price for staying in at Boracay Beach Club.

Ariel's Point is about 30 Minutes from Boracay Island. Our package includes a BBQ Buffet Lunch and Unlimited Drinks - Soda, Beer, Water in the Ariel's Point.

Your money is worth it once you get to this place.

I've got the perfect table that day - facing the 45-feet high plank overlooking the serene waters.

So we had our BBQ Buffet Lunch - Lots of choices and I actually love their eggplant salad!

They got this cool baller bands that says: "Life is Good! Ariel's Point".

Too bad I forgot to bring my iPod and book so I can read up there.

Oh well, the experience was fun fun fun.

As for the dinner, we had Aristotle's birthday Dinner at True Food - Best Indian Restaurant in Boracay. Pictures are in Aristotle's Phone, we left the camera at the hotel.

We ordered Hummus, Chapati, Lamb Biryani and Chai Tea.

Upon our return to the hotel, the owners of Boracay Beach Club, Ms Ariel and Mimi, sent Aristotle a gift: A Chilean Wine

How sweet of them! :)

The following morning, we had breakfast again beachfront. It was our last day in Boracay and I must enjoy it to the fullest.

After eating breakfast - we headed to our Helmet Diving! Yey! (Pictures of Actual Helmet Diving not Posted - the CD cannot be read on my laptop).

We had our last swim in Station 1 before leaving Boracay.

So long Boracay Island! :)

Hundred Islands Trip

It's the month of March, and as I have previously posted here , it is a month full of celebrations for me..

It was our first anniversary and we got the our Anniversary trip ready!

This time, we opted for the Hundred Islands tour in Pangasinan.

We really can't get enough of the beach - the week after our Anawangin trip, we headed for Pangasinan.

A gruesome 6-Hour Bus Ride.

We arrived around 7am at the Victory Liner Bus Terminal in Cubao - since this is the where bus headed for Alaminos, Pangasinan is located.

We had like 3 stopovers which I deemed really unnecessary. This indeed made the trip unbearable and too long.

Arrived around 1pm in Alaminos. Just as we were about to step out of the bus, there are so many guys who kept approaching every passenger. Offering stuff about Hundred Islands tour and others..

But we were already booked at the Islandia Hotel. So there! I made to a point to stay at a hotel with a Swimming Pool so I can have the comfort of swimming at night.

Our room got a veranda overlooking the pool. Not much of a view though.

After checking in at the hotel, we just decided to have a shower and head off to the town for some chow.

My con's for this trip : The Trike drivers are waaaayyy not too honest! They will charge you 20php for a ride even if it is just 2 streets away. But since we were really tired, we just let this pass.

We ate Lunch (its actually 4pm that time) at Eat's ur Deal. A pretty good cafeteria which serves a Lauriat Meal waaayyy better than that of Chowking!

For 100php you'll get a fab Lauriat :)

After eating, we headed for the market.. At first we do not know where it is, so we took a trike.. and he effin' charged us 25php! It was just like one street away!!!!!!!!! Had I known where, I would have just walked..

There we bought the famous Alaminos Longganisa :) I bought 3 dozens of it!

I love local version of Longganisa! :) I can't get enough of it. Good thing we got a fridge in our room so we can keep this in the freezer until the day we check out.

After buying some longganisa, Aris decided to have himself a haircut.. Yeah, we know. Silly idea, have a haircut while having a vacation.. But we went there to kill time.

I was actually amazed at the painting in the salon we went to.. and for fun, decided to have a Nail Art done..

Got hungry again and decided to eat at a nearby place.. Cindy's! Yes, this name is also familiar.. I am not yet sure if this Cindy's is the old fastfood we used to have in Manila. Their food was so-so. Might have my bucks spent at a nearby Jollibee to McDo instead..

After hanging out at this town proper, we headed back to the hotel to have a cool night swim (no pictures, sorreh..).

Had breakfast the following day at Islandia Cafe. I chose the Longsilog combination. I know they will serve Alaminos Longganisa and its yum :)

We hurried back to our room to take a shower then head for the Lucap Port for our Hundred Island's Adventure!

There at the entrance, you will be guided by the Tourist Information Center regarding Boat Rentals for the adventure. You need not hire a Tour Guide for this since the Boatmen will be your personal tour guide.

There were only 3 Major Islands that are usually visited by tourists - Governor's Island, Children's Islands & Quezon Island.

Our first stop was at Governor's Island - and oh there is the fine sand and its not hot! I still have this hangover from our Zambales trip, the sand there is scorching hot..

Well, you have to work your way up to get to see the surprise.. It was tiring, really.. Glad I wore my Crocs type shoes.. It will be very difficult if you're just wearing your flip-flops..

At the top you will see the surrounding islands! Such a heavenly sight :)

We then headed to the Children's Island, but decided not to get out of the boat.. The "parking space" for the boats is already full and you can see that there are many kids that swim here. The water is shallow.. And now I kinda get it why it's called such :)

Before we headed for the last stop which is the Quezon Island, we tried on some snorkeling.. The water is really deep! I should say.. I will not survive had it not for the LifeVest.. It was a fail for me :( I didnt get to see more of the corals underneath.. The mouthpiece won't fit my mouth..

So there, I got stuck at the platform and Aris needed to fetch the boatmen to fetch me..

We then headed to Quezon Island for our Lunch. We bought Grilled Squid and Liempo from the Port and yes, it is yummmmmy!

After having lunch we headed back to Alaminos Town Proper..

It was our last night and we decided to have dinner at Maxine by the Sea. Too bad we forgot to take pictures.. But nevertheless, we enjoyed their famous Calamares :)

Walked a bit along the Port and just enjoyed feeling the fresh air coming from the sea.

This trip was indeed one of our most memorable since it is our First Anniversary together as a couple.

Of course, looking forward for more years!

Anawangin - Capones Island Trip

It was March, the supposed to be start of the Summer Season here in the Philippines. And of course, time for the annual Summer Getaway of our Project :)

This time, we decided to go to Anawangin & Capones Island in Zambales for free - thank you to the Team Building budget :)

March 19-20, 2011

Left Makati at around 2am on board a Starex Van and Hi-Ace Van.

Arrived around 7am in Iba, Zambales for our resort Accomodation. It was a simple room good for 4 persons sharing. You won't be needing a classy one because you'll barely stay in the resort. It was a bit far trip from Pundaquit ( Where the port going to Anawangin is located).. It takes you about an hour..

After having a semi-buffet breakfast, we headed off to Pundaquit. Took an hour or more to arrive there. It was scorchinng hot! Really!

As we await the Boat that will take us to Anawangin Island for our lunchtime.

It took us 2 boats - a big one and a small one, to accomodate our number.

Upon arrival there, we sort of found our place in the island. There were like many people who actually built their tents in the island.

After eating lunch, we rested a bit. I took a nap in the mat - under the huge Pine Trees.

Then we decided to take a swim. We conquered the mighty waves - they were like "baby tsunami" waves.. JK.

After having fun at the waters, we then headed off to another island nearby - Capones Island. Took like 30 minutes of boatride or so.

The island is famous for a Lighthouse, but Aris and I didn't join the rest of our team to head up because we decided to rest instead and took charge of looking at the valuables.

It was almost after sunset when we decided to head back to the Pundaquit Port.

The sky was a bit dark by this time. It gets scary to be at sea at this time. Good thing we're not staying at the islands there overnight. It would be a nightmare for me - Sorry, I'm not a camping person. I would like to have the comfort of clean comfort rooms and not makeshifts.

Anyway, we headed back to our resort inn to have our smei-buffet dinner. I was sooo excited to finally take a shower because of the sea water that has dried in my bod. Whooooo.

Damn it felt good! :)

Slept very early that night. Was so effin' tired of the trip..

The following day was a semi-buffet breakfast again. Had to fill my empty tummy with some chow.

After which, dozed off to the room.. Just then we were informed that we're going to a nearby beach. I was still lazy.. Very lazy to have activity that day.. It was again, scorching hot..

However, we cannot refuse to go since we should go as a team..

A bit disappointing.. The nearby beach isn't what I expected.. I didn't swim.. I just stayed inside the airconditioned van because I can't stand the heat.. Pardon me..

Good thing we were given the chance to get back at the resort.. Damn I would prefer lazing in bed over getting sun-baked again..

Took a shower ahead of the others to save time. After lunch time, we are now heading back to Manila. But with a stop over at the Duty Free shops :)

Over-all. The trip was all worth it! Thank you to our Engagement Team for organizing this activity.

A trip to kick start my Summer! :)

Bubble Tea

Ooohh.. I've been craving for this ever since day 1 that I read about this Bubble Tea over the internet..

This Bubble Tea is located in Megamall which is waaaayyy to far from where I live.

But when I got the chance to go there.. I searched every floor of the mall.

and there near the Food Court, is a very cozy tea-place.. Bubble Tea! :)

It's been almost 2 months since some hideous act of terrorism occurred in the Metro.

I first heard about it from 2 people talking in the office. I immediately googled about the news and got the time to read about the details.

It was a bombing incident along EDSA and Buendia avenue. All throughout that afternoon and night, I was monitoring the updates on the investigation of the crime. 4 was initially identified as the casuality.

To my dismay the following day, there I saw all over the news. The 5th victim was a name familiar to me: Irish Teniola.

At first, I didn't want to believe that its real. But then, it is. I confirmed through our supervisor in PNB that it was really her.

I suddenly stopped working and started reminiscing the few moments I spent with this charming witty girl.

We first met at PNB Financial Center where we both are On the Job Trainees in the same department. She was a very nice girl. A true person where you can share and exchange thoughts about life and other stuff. And yes, she shared stories on how much she love her boyfriend which taught me how to be strong when it comes to love too.

She's also one of the prettiest in campus. I remember the time when we went to Robinson's Ermita to scout the cosmetics section.

Our communication didn't end after the OJT. I gained more friends through her.

Whenever we'll see each other, it's a bright smile that will welcome you.

Little did I know, she'll be a victim of a very tragic terrorism attack.

It crushes my heart even more to know that she have lots of dreams she wants to fulfill.

Last time I saw her was at SM Makati. She was on her way home along with some of her officemates then.

This was a very sad day for all of us, her friends and family. She doesn't deserve have this fate.

But all we can do now is pray for her.

Irish, I know you're in heaven right now. God will continue to guide you on your journey up there. Always remember that we will never forget you. You will always be in our hearts. We love you Ish! Thanks for the friendship we have shared. We will miss you!

Potter's Ridge Hotel Review on Trip Advisor

As always, we have relied so much on Trip Advisor oh where to stay every time my boyfriend and I decide to spend a vacation trip. After further analysis, we decided to book a reservation in Potter's Ridge Hotel.

On the day of our trip, to my dismay, the location is way toooo far from "Tagaytay" itself. It is actually in Batangas. Luckily, we got our GPS so we can properly locate the place.

When we entered the room (we got the so called "Full View"), I was amazed at the disappointed at the. The room is not that big. It is a Standard size for typical hotels. Also, the tv is awful. It is like some cheap 14-inch old tvs.

For the view, I couldnt consider it "full". The side window view displays some old rubbles of construction materials. It does not give much privacy at all! If you leave the curtains open, some people can get to see you from the outside.

Instead of whining, we just enjoyed our planned itinerary for our trip. However, when we got back to the hotel. To my another dismay, the bathroom smells real foul! It must have been coming from the septic tank or sewage? Whatever it is, it really pissed me off! The bathroom is clean except for the smell, really. I hope the management do something about it!

Another thing, their parking space is not that maintained. There is no guard or something. No help when aligning the parking area.

The following morning, these frowns were replaced by a smile when our breakfast was served in bed. Yum! I enjoyed eating by the view of the Taal. It feels sooo cozy :)

I loved the coffee :) It's brewed! ;)

All in all, my stay was fine. The room was not worth the value though. We shelled 3000php++.

Also, not location friendly.

Bloomfield Hotel Review on Trip Advisor

It was actually my first time in Baguio. I have always trusted Trip Advisor when finding places to stay for vacation.

I must say it is indeed the Best Hotel there is in Baguio.

Very affordable and you get more than what you pay for. An accomodating Front Office staff and very friendly guards.

We stayed at the Basement Room. I didnt expect wifi connection there (It was already discussed here). But the Wifi in the lobby is indeed fast!

Adding up to that.. The food they serve in Cafe Sorelle is the BEST!!!!

The best food served from a hotel. My boyfriend enjoyed theire Poached Egg! The only hotel who serves Poached Eggs.

We had a great time hanging out at Cafe Sorelle during night time. They served yum margaritas! :)

When I will go back to Baguio, I will definitely check in at Bloomfield.

Also, its across SM Baguio! Very strategic :)
