We are a two car family. This is a luxury. Having two cars does make life a little easier. We have a car and an SUV. DH drives the car, the car is our gas saver. We drive it everywhere. The car was bought brand new in 2003. She has been good to us. Well, that is until last Thursday. Coming home she just decided to die while we were driving. I don't know what the heck she was thinking but I'm sure she has her reasons.

DH was able to get us home by two footing it. One foot on the brake the other on the gas. We decided to replace the alternator. So on Friday after DH got off work he went an bought a new one. Fail. That didn't fix the problem. That cost $177 for nothing. Thinking that maybe the alternator went bad and caused the battery to die we charged the battery all night and all day. Once DH got home from work on Saturday he checked on the car. Fail again!

That night we went to eat at my MIL house and to take all the kids trick or treating in her neighborhood. Once we were finished DH went to buy a new battery, hoping the battery was bad. You guessed it another fail. There was $85 down the drain also. This time we decided that we would take it the a shop. This makes me nervous because I have no idea what it will cost. Today they are suppose to try and fix it.

Do you ever worry about stuff like this? Like how are you going to pay for this or that. I am right now. We have been hit with a lot of unexpected bills lately. I just pray we have enough money in our account to pay for it.

The Time Is Coming

We made it to the first of November. It seems like time just passes faster every year. Pretty soon we will be putting up our decorations and preparing for Thanksgiving. When do you put up your Christmas decorations?

Do You Ever Wonder?

Do you ever wonder if you are doing the right thing? I'm not talking about anything in particular. Just anything. Can you tell them is probably going to be a crummy post? I'm just in a rut, in a mood I guess you could say. Two people that I went to high school with has faced some pretty tough trials. One of them her little girl just 18 months has be diagnosed with cancer. The other his wife just gave birth to a stillborn. It makes more heart ache.

Don't get me wrong I am so very thankful for my healthy family but my heart aches for these two people and their families. I know people go through this everyday but it just plain sucks when it's someone you know. Tinleigh is sick again. She does have more teeth coming in so hopefully that's why she's feeling under the weather.

Ainsleigh is doing great in preschool, she has made a major improvement since this. So very proud of her! We are still in limbo in what to do about DH job. Just keep praying for an answer and hoping some doors will open up. Ok that's all I have to say to sum up my week away. Sorry if you felt like you wasted your time reading this. I promise for next time to be more up beat!

A Reminder

As we embarked on trying to meet our goals. I am constantly reminded that I would love a house with a little more storage space and an open floor plan. While it is easy getting caught up in our wants I am reminded every time I get on the computer with I see the floor plan of the house we have picked out. This is a motivation for us. and I have an addiction. Yes, folks an addiction. First off let just say I hope that I don't have the beginning stages of becoming a hoarder. Okay so I'm not that bad. Anyway my addiction is magazines. The great thing is I don't pay for any subscriptions but come on people. Stacks and stacks of magazines that are at least a year old. My excuse for holding on to them is because of an article or a craft. Something of a this or that nature. Well no more excuses at least till I have a big trash party again.

Here is the stack that I tossed. Yes, there are over 20 magazines thankyouverymuch!

Here is the stack that I have keep because I haven't even got to read them. I have them nicely placed in my night stand drawer. Lets see how long it takes for them to take over that space and move on to somewhere else. Wait, there I go again back to my old ways. I have turned over a new leaf friends and ~~I am~~ ~~hoping~~ it's here to stay. What's your addiction?

The Bedroom Is Finished

So the other day I talked about getting organized. I decided to take on our bedroom first just because it's the room that gets cleaned the least. It's one of our catch-all rooms you can say. I know once you see these pictures you will never look at me the same. But I will be the first to say that I am not the perfect. It's easy to read a blog and think the author has it all together but I am here to tell ya, I don't. I'm a work in progress and if it takes me posting pictures of my messy unorganized rooms to get myself in gear then let it be.

Can you tell which side is mine? Ok, really don't answer that. Like I said I'm working on it! :) After a day and a half of much interrupted cleaning I finally got everything together. Then this morning before I left to take Ainsleigh to preschool she decided to spill juice on our comforter. That's why the plain bed if you were wondering.

Next week I will be moving to a different room to organize. I will be posting Tuesday what room I have chosen. I still have 5 rooms and 6 closets to go. Who wants to join me? I would love to see your before and after pictures.

Are You Content?

I would love to say that I was content with everything that we have, but I would be lying. When I walk past someone I wonder to myself are they content with what they have? What is it that they want more of? Advertising makes you feel like you shouldn't be content unless you get what they are selling.

You can't turn on the television without being bombarded with super expensive car commercials making you think if you are getting a phenomenal deal if you lease this car for just $699 a month. For real? Do people really pay that? I personally like to watch inphomercials sometimes just to hear what they have to say. "You will never use anther product again if you buy this!" That is until the next greatest gadget comes out.

I guess maybe I am content with certain things like, I am content with my house right now. But, I would like to be able to save the money to build. With an open floor plan, nothing fancy. I'm content with my vehicle right now. But, when the time comes that we are ready to have another baby I would like a bigger one. Or maybe, I'm content with my wardrobe right now, but I would like to have a new shirt for that upcoming wedding.

If you are working to meet your goals, are you really content? Probably not. I know I am not content unless I am meeting those goals. Everyone is always wanting better. But the point is, don't go out and buy something just for the "status", buy it because yours is old and worn out. Are you content with what you have? If not, what would you like to change?

Sickness, I Hate The

Gotta love the messy hair look

Hopefully we are on the up swing of things around here. We have been sick for over a week. I myself feel back to myself mostly. Ainsleigh is still battling a runny nose and slight cough. Tinleigh, well she is still struggling.

Monday we were at Riley Children's Hospital for a follow up you can read about that here. Then on Tuesday Ainsleigh had a field trip for preschool so Hubby's sister watcher Tinleigh so I could be with Ainsleigh. Things just seemed to go downhill that day after Tinleigh woke up from her nap. She literally screamed unless I was holding her.

I finally got her to sleep around 10 and called it a night myself, even though I clearly needed to pick up the house and clean something. Then midnight came and she was restless, kept playing with her ears and just fussy. I gave her Tylenol and Motrin and nothing worked. After several attempts trying to lay her in bed at 4:30 I decided to put drops in her ears that we had gotten with she had an ear infection.

Let me tell ya, those are a little piece of heaven. Once they started to work I was able to lay her down and sleep until 7:30 when I was graced with Ainsleigh's face telling me it was time to get up. I called to make an appointment for Tinleigh and luckily they got us in in the morning. The Dr looked at her ears and said one looked like an infection was starting, wrote a prescription and told me not to fill it for a couple days and see how she acts.

Today has been an ok day. She has be fussy, but I was able to get the majority of the stuff in the kitchen cleaned up. To me, that is a plus. I have alternated Tylenol and Motrin so I guess we will see how she is after she wakes up from her nap. Let's pray she's feeling better soon!

There's Always Next Time

So yesterday I wrote this, hoping that things would change. I prayed Tinleigh would be able to tolerate dairy, a lot. I got an answer, but not what I was looking for. My poor little baby started having a reaction yesterday evening. I guess she finally got enough dairy in her system to trigger it. So needless to say we had an eventful evening trying to get her calmed down to go to sleep.

It just frustrates me so badly that nothing showed up on either of the allergy tests. I wouldn't have put her through any of this. That's the whole reason I haven't tried since the testing was done in July. It makes me feel like a horrible mother. So with all that said. There will be more recipes posted on how we are eating. I know how if feels to have to try and find something to eat without using ingredients that you are so used to using.

To sum this all up, FOOD ALLERGIES SUCK!
