I hope all of you are doing well. I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I am still here.
Did you ever have "one of those days", well it seems I am having "one of those months".LOL
Nothing serious but a lot going on. I have a few projects I want to share with you as soon as I can get my butt off the couch. LOL
What did you all think of the big game, I was so so happy the Giants won! I am also watching all of the debates and primaries for the republican nominees. It is all so confusing. The hubby isn't into it as much as I am so I am pretty much talking to myself, and yelling at the TV.
On another note, my dear friend Audrey from Cute and Some, was having some health issues, if you could just keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Scrap Stumpers

Today I am sharing a really fun idea. I recycled a can and filled it with goodness. If you are familiar with journaling prompts, this is kind of the same idea, but I am using this as layout prompts or card prompts. There are a bunch of strips of paper inside the can filled with all kinds of ideas, such as, glitter, embossing, twine, scraps etc. Now when I make a card or a layout I will first reach into my goodie can and pull out an idea. I really like this because it allows you to step away from the norm a little bit, and use things you don't normally use. You can also personalize it to fit what you like, have or enjoy doing.

Golf Ball Dog

I hope all you had a great weekend, Today I am a designer over at Sheila's blog, She's A Sassy Lady and I decided to share this super cute idea that my mom and I made many years ago. All you need to make this is 7 golf balls, a golf tee, felt, glue and some little embellishments, and you will have a really great gift for a guy or a pet lover, or a guaranteed sale at a craft fair.

Rather than explaining in words how to create it, I decided to do a video. I talk faster than I write. LOL, and I thought it would be easier to understand.

A Few Cards

I hope all of you have a great New Year, I wish you all nothing but the best. Today I am sharing a few cards I made. Hubby got me some Prisma pencils for Christmas and I have been coloring non stop. LOL
The first one is a a Christmas card, I am not sure where I got the image from. (that is one of my resolutions, to make sure I document where I get things so I can give proper thanks) I added a little bit of glitter for the white areas to add some sparkle.

This one is my favorite, I think this puppy is just the cutest little thing. I still need to do A LOT of practice on my shading technique, but I still think they turned out OK!

I want to thank all of you for being great blog buddies, and for following me even though I haven't been around as much as I should. And also for leaving me such sweet comments, I really do love reading them. Most importantly I want to thank you for all your prayers for my grand son, he is doing good :) He is the best Christmas present ever! I will post pics of him soon.

A Christmas Story

I hope all of you had a great Christmas Holiday. Today I am sharing a super quick and easy gift idea with all of you. This is a recycled jar that I turned into the cutest little gift for someone. It is full of M & M's and seems appropriate for this time of year. It is a little story about the birth of Jesus Christ seen from candy!
To decorate the jar, I just wrapped a piece of card stock around it, and punched out a scallop shape for the front. I used the computer to print the "To and From". For the tag, again, I just printed the story and tied it to the jar with ribbon, then filled the jar with the M & M candies.

Tree Art With Cricut Craft Room

I hope all of you are having a great week so far. I was playing around in the Craft Room earlier and created word art using vinyl. So easy to do and most importantly, it just cost pennies. I know I haven't visited a lot lately but I promise after the New Year, I will be back to blogging more often and back to checking in on all you. For now, I hope you enjoy my little project. I also created a file in case you want to try one for yourself. All you need is some scrap wood, a little bit a vinyl and a person to give it to.

Santa Card I Colored

I am in love with the Santa's Village Imagine Cartridge. It has the cutest images, some of which are black and white that you can color. I used my "fancy" Crayola crayons to color him. The background paper is from the same cartridge.

A Card, A Thanks, and A Baby Update

Hello everyone
~Happy Monday To You~
I first need to give my wonderful blog friend Wendy a huge shout out! She sent me the Cricut Imagine Santa's Village Cartridge. I wasn't even expecting it, it was so nice of her to do this, just because. This is now my all time favorite Imagine cart. It has the cutest papers and images on it. So I made my mom a card and a little gift bag full of dog treats for her puppy. Hope you enjoy!

On to the baby! He is doing so well. He still is not getting any milk from my daughter until he is off the antibiotic. But, he did go poop. (3 times) which was very good. He also gained some weight. He now weighs 2 pounds 1 ounce. That is such good news and I am tickled pink. He is the best gift ever. He is now also in a private room, to where he doesn't need to be monitored 24 hours. They just check in on him like he is a regular patient :) The nurses for Thanksgiving stamped his little hand and turned it into a turkey for my daughter. She absolutely loved it. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

I hope all of you had a great week so far. I wanted to give a quick update on the baby. He now weighs 1 pound 8 and 1/2 ounces. He had to have emergency surgery last week, he had a perforated bowel. He wasn't digesting mommy's milk well which caused a hole inside his bowel. They put a drain in his abdomen so nothing could pass through him. They also stopped feeding him my daughters milk temporarily. They will need to do another surgery within a few days to remove the drain so that he can have a bowel movement naturally. They also have him off and on under a Bili light to treat jaundice, (yellowing of the skin). The doctors said he did really well after the surgery and was stable. All of his vitals are OK as well. So, as of right now, he is doing really good.
I am sharing a few pics of JCee with you.

I know I haven't visited any of you in awhile, and I am really sorry. I promise to start stopping by soon. I did also get the cricut mini, (really cute & fun machine)and I finally got my Imagine back as well. Although, I think it sounds funny, so we will see.
I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. I am truly thankful for all of my wonderful family of followers, and all of your continued prayers and well wishes.

DIY Embossing Gun Holder

I have another DIY project. Today is my turn to be a guest designer on Sheila's blog, so be sure you stop over there and say hi! (Just click her name above) This one is super simple to make using just scraps of wood, or really inexpensive if you need to buy the wood. This is an embossing gun holder. I love this because now I am able to emboss a lot easier. This is what the finished project looks like:

Now, for what you need to make this:

You will need a 1 x 4 piece of wood cut into three pieces. One that measure 9 inches, and two that are 6 inches. You are also going to need 4 drywall screws, a drill bit, sand paper and a 2 inch circle attachment that goes on a power drill. The lumber yard will cut the wood for you free of charge as long as you buy the wood there.

If you don't have a circle attachment for a drill, ask the lumber yard to cut if for you. They may charge for this since it isn't a simple cut, but I am not sure. You want to put the hole on one of the 6 inch pieces of wood, about an inch from one end and centered from side to side.

After all of your wood is cut, you are going to want to sand around rough edges as well the inside of the hole we just made. Then you are ready to put it together.

Here are I am showing how I assembled it. The piece with the cut out is on the right side, this will be your top piece. The other one on the left side is the bottom piece. See how they are attached. I have the top one sitting on top of the longer piece of wood and the bottom piece I have on the side of the longer piece. I did this so it distributes the weight of the wood more evenly. Before you attach, you are going to want to pre drill your holes so the wood doesn't split. Then you are done! Now you can spray paint it any color you like, leave it as is, or stain it. Make it match what you want.

I do want to mention, as you will see in the pic below. The 2 inch hole was just a tad to big and my gun fell thru it. Rather than starting over again, I simply took some pony tail holders (3) and wrapped them around my gun, pushing them towards the top. This now acts as a stopper sort of speak so the gun fits in there nicely.

Update on my grandson

I have a little update to share with regarding the baby. First my daughter. She is still a little sore and constipated. It hurts her belly to push. She goes into tomorrow to get the staples removed. I think she has around 35 or so staples. From the belly button down.
Onto the baby. They took one of the breathing tubes out and he is breathing on his own, that is fantastic!! Makes me so so happy. If he does stop breathing they have a C-Pap hooked up to him which will start to breathe for him. They took one of the tubes out of his belly button and put it into a vein in his little arm. They are trying to make him more independent. He still didn't gain anymore weight, he still only weighs 1 pound 8 ounces. He lost a little since birth. The doctors say that is normal but it is making grandma nervous. They are increasing his food, he is now at 1 millimeter not sure if that is per feeding or for the whole day though.
After my daughter gets her stitches out she will go see him tomorrow, so I will know more by than.

My daughter is home

Hey everyone,
My daughter was able to leave the hospital today. The baby did lose a little weight, he now weighs 1 lb 10 oz. The doctors said that is normal, although it is making me nervous. He is still on the breathing tube and will be until his lungs develop further. We are still praying and keeping our fingers crossed.
If you would like to send her a card I am posting her address below. I think it would put a smile on her face knowing people are out there thinking of her and her family.

Baby Video

Here is a little video of our precious grandson that my husband took at the hospital. He is doing really well. He got the first taste of his mommy's milk yesterday which is fantastic.
My daughter woke up with a fever this morning (101) it did go down to 99, but they may keep her in the hospital another day.

Baby Update

Hey everyone,
Thank you all so so much for your prayers, we still need them.
Update~They took the catheter out of my daughter (yay). She is able to go to the bathroom. All of her is good, her vitals are all good as well. She is still really sore and a little gassy. She is still on some pain medication but doctors say she is OK. She was up and walking around yesterday which is really good and she is still scheduled to go home tomorrow.

Baby Update~They tried to remove the breathing tube, but his lungs are still hard and not able to expand on their own so they had to put the tube back in. His blood pressure is normal. His blood sugar was a little high/low so they gave him some insulin. My daughter is using a breast pump so they can rub the milk on his mouth. The doctors won't give an exact answer on his progress which I understand. His skin color looks really good.

I need your prayers

Hey everyone,
If you have a minute today can you say a prayer for my daughter and my grandson. She had a lot of complications so they had to give her an emergency C section to take the baby. He only weighs 1 pound 14 ounces. He is very tiny. She was only 26 weeks when they did the surgery.
My daughter is OK,, but in a lot of pain and still a little groggy.
The baby looks OK, very tiny. His eye lids aren't fully developed yet, so we are not sure how that will go. They are hoping to take the catheter out of my daughter today, fingers crossed. They also might try removing the breathing tube from the baby to see if he can breathe on his own. Again, fingers crossed.

I tried my hand at coloring. I have watching a ton of videos on coloring using mineral spirits and one of those paper stump things. (not sure what they are called)
It is not fantastic, but it is not awful either. I still have to practice the shading, I can't seem to figure that part out.
All I used was the cheapo crayola pencils, I may be asking for the Prismacolor pencils for my birthday. We shall see. (my list is already long) LOL
The image I used is from a StampinUp stamp set.

Christmas TP Mini

Winter Frolic Christmas Card

Today I am sharing a really simple Christmas card using the Winter Frolic cartridge. Not sure how well you can see the snow I on the card, I did this by using the home-made dusty stuff I made.

A DIY Project

OK, I figured with Halloween being right around the corner, I would show you how I made my little "DIY Garlic Keeper" It really is so simple, it is almost silly.
First you are going to need a clay pot and a clay saucer (make sure your saucer is the same size inches as your pot is) and of course you are going to need some garlic.

The first step is to soak your saucer in warm water for about an hour and a 1/2. This will make the clay a little softer making it easier to drill holes in the top of it. We are making these holes so there will be good air circulation.
After it soaked, take a 1/4 inch drill bit and drill about 3 holes into the saucer, if you want to add a drawer pull like I did, then you would want to drill 4 holes. If you don't have an old drawer pull, you can use anything you want to "act" like a handle to make it easier to lift up the lid.
To cover up the whole in the bottom of the pot, you can use a lid, a coffee filter or even just a piece of card-stock (which I know you all have) This prevents the garlic skins from going onto your counter.
That is pretty much it, easy peasy right? I made a little video explaining the process a little better, but this is what it will look like when it is all finished. Of course you can make yours as fancy as you would like, I left mine natural. The best part, it really does keep your garlic fresher a lot longer.

A simple layout

I hope all of you had a great weekend. Mine went by to fast as usual. Today I am sharing a simple layout of my beautiful daughter at her many proms. I decided to put all the pictures into one layout.

I printed the paper with the Imagine using the Elise cart. The title is from Story Book, one of my favorite font carts. The little flowers I made using Accent Essentials. I also made little glue drops tinted with a little orange to go onto the flowers. Under the titles are more home-made glue drops. These ones I just left their natural color.
Oh, I forgot to tell ya, I am without a Gypsy and an Imagine. I sent my Gypsy back last week. I couldn't get it to keep a charge. So I figured I'd better send it back since it was close to my warranty ending. The Imagine was sent back on Saturday. It was leaking ink really bad. I even did a video on it which you can see here that shows all the black inky paste. I just hope it doesn't take to long to get them back, I am sorta lost without them.
