Finally I have the mood to restart the writing engine. It's been more than a month since my last post.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for forgetting my blog. I'm current neither in KL or JB bit in my hometown far in the north of Malaysia.

I started to write this as I AM SERIOUSLY BORED as there is no WiFi available here. It's ridiculous to see how much I depend on the internet but sometimes, somehow, I have to bare with living without it.

The journey started approximately 24 hours ago from now. I and my family and some of their friends departed after having supper at Nusa Bestari. And well, I was in the same car with another family that I didn't know. :S

I don't wanna scare you with my friendliness and shall, therefore, remain silent.

And you should have known, it'd been raining for quite a few days. The temperature was bloody cold. I sat at the back beside the driver's son who started dreaming as our journey began. Awaken from his sweetdream, he wasn't really conscious and took away my blanket. =.=

I was so cold for the following few hours sitting at the back trying my very best to fall asleep. But somehow, I failed.

We arrived in Rawang at 5am something and had our breakfast there. It was the most awful meesiam and the smallest fried egg I'd ever had.

While having not slept for the whole night, I took over the driver's seat and began to drive at 6am. It took us less than 3 hours to reach our destination. I almost fell asleep while driving Zzz. How dangerous.

Fabulous Food 1 Malaysia: Day 1 & 2

Hello! I'm back from the first two days of the event. Check out my previous post if you have no idea what event it is.

It was pretty happening there. The crowd is comparable to that in a pasar malam lol. Quite a number of friends came to visit too. Sorry that I didn't have time to layan you guys but still thank you for supporting.

I'm not sure if there are more than a hundred of stalls exhibiting since I didn't count. But it's definitely so crowded between stalls which makes it a trouble for the hawkers to work. Another bad thing is that the organizer did not provide enough tables, which disappointed some of the visitors.

Besides the performances, the organizer also played firecrackers which lasted three long minutes. That's when you see everyone's looking upwards. By the way, the event is still running today. Will you be there?

Have you been seeing this bunting hanging on the lamp posts lately? Maybe not. Perhaps it didn't catch your attention. I personally think that the design of this bunting sucks a bit, very simple and not very informative. But well, this is why I'm here to promote the event :D

Food lovers look at this!!

For the following three days (3/12 ~ 5/12) there will be this festival of hawker food event being held here. I mean here, Jalan Sutera in Taman Sentosa, JB. There will be three main groups of hawkers: Halal, non-Halal and packaged food. You can check out the official website but there's not much information there as well: fabfood1malaysia.com

The street will be closed for three whole days and it's gonna be pretty big as the Minister of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen will be there for the opening ceremony. Hawkers from all over the nation will be participating in this event. And that's what I heard, there will be more than 100 stalls here selling local food like chicken rice, ikan bakar, laksa, satay, mee jawa, otak-otak, tomyam, roti canai, ice kacang bla bla bla. You name it and swallow your saliva pleaseee :D

Before I went to work this morning, there were already workers building up the tents. And here it is how it looks now. Please don't mind the bad quality of photos that I captured using my phone..

And why do I mean "here"? Because the venue is like just ONE MINUTE OF WALKING DISTANCE from my house! Don't hate me.

So definitely I will be there. I will be there not only for the food, but I'm actually PARTICIPATING. Come and check me out! :D

Grill Bar - The American Bistro

Ooops I just realized that I have been neglecting my little bloggie for a week :S Anyway, my time has been pretty tight lately. Life is substantial. Plus, I was sick last week for a few days.

Okay, here's the payback. I've been to this American restaurant namely Grill Bar two weeks ago.

I did not comment much on each dish individually if you realize. All of them are superb. I mean it. The meat is soft and heavenly good. The creamy cheese is the real cheese that you can't find elsewhere. Even the beans and salad and fries and those tiny carrots are tastier than those served in other similar restaurants.

I seriously mean it. So do all my friends.

I believe they have pretty good chefs and the ingredients they use are the best in town, like duh, in the first picture you can see that the serve imported beef. None of us ordered beef anyway but I believe it's gonna be another heavenly excellent plate of meat.

I really mean it. You gotta taste them.

They service there is good as well. The waitress have their smiles on faces like almost all the time like it's been fixed there. Lol.

Talking about the ambience, the lightning and decos are simple and nice, good match. One thing I don't like is that the other tables were all taking and laughing so loudly. But I don't really mind though, since we're actively making noise as well. Lol.

The meal cost us RM127.75. Is it expensive? I personally think it's quite reasonable since they serve heavenly food. You be the judge.

Duckie Teaser

It was almost 1am some random night last week, when my dad asked me to buy a drumstick for him. And I was pretty blur that time, I actually bought him a duck drumstick back home and realized it was chicken drumstick he was asking for instead of what I'd bought. Anyway, I went back to the stall again for another fried chicken drumstick and duh, that duck one became mine. :D

I didn't eat that right away of course. Come on, it was midnight already :S

In fact, I kept it in the fridge and steam it for my dinner of the following day.

This restaurant in JB serves their roasted duck in three or four different flavours. I don't remember which one we had but I believe I would love any of them, as long as it's duck!

Lobak's Birthday in Friday's

HAHAHA guess what? The same day I had Nando's, I actually went Friday's for dinner. I feel so guilty :p

Ok fine, it was actually my brother's birthday and I was invited by my sister-in-law for this little celebration after I got back after work.

It was my third time going to this outlet opposite Sultan Garden in JB and I think every outlet is more or less then same. Service wise, these people made me feel warmer with their smiles. But well, those in other outlets do the same as well. =.=

There was this bartender playing with the bottle and I requested to shoot him.

But he actually failed to capture the bottle for a few times and the bottle just dropped on the floor.

If you have been to Friday's for any birthday celebration, you probably are familiar with what they're gonna do to you. I remember the time when I celebrated my 21st in Friday's, all the crews sang a super-long, weird but nice (birthday?) song in I-don't-know-what language. I was asked to stand on the chair and to either sing a song or give a speech, with holding the chili bottle as microphone. I'll blog about their food some other time.

Christmas Tree

Lately my work load in office is pretty light and I actually have nothing to do almost every morning. My work normally gets busy after lunch time. And this morning, it was just so ngam that my colleagues were decorating Christmas tree! And you know that, I got no work to do.. Of course I did help a bit.. lol

Gay Party

We had a early celebration for uncle Lim and Giant together last week in this cafe called Witchery Ider Cafe (魔力點子) located in Desa Tebrau. The cafe was so quiet that night and we actually utilized the whole floor. Laughed so loud like nobody's business!

Guess what? The cafe is offering buy-one-free-one bubble tea, which means you get 2x700ml of bubble tea for the price of one. Another good thing is that they have so many flavours to choose from. But sadly, tapioca pearl was out of stock. We had bubble tea without pearls =.=

I have no comment on the food. I ordered chicken chop rice and yes, I was served with a plate of chicken chop rice but the whole plate of food looks like breakfast nasi lemak of pretty small portion. AND I WAS HUNGRY :S

By the way, I didn't manage to take a nice photo of the cake. The one above is the best of the best :S

Batman Can Fly!

For your information, I was born in Penang but shifted to Johor Bahru when I was only three. I pretty much consider myself as a JB lang though I have been living in KL for quite some time too. It's quite a tough mission if you have friends coming from outstation to JB to drop you a visit since there's nothing really fun besides food and shopping malls.

But hey, I realize people nowadays like to fly kite and there's a place just nice for this in JB. I don't really know what that place is called but it's somewhere behind Tebrau Jusco, between Desa Tebrau and Mount Austin. Check this out.

No worries if you haven't got any kite with you. There are quite a number of stalls selling them beside the kiting area. Got hari raya discount there. LOL

This stall we chose was the one nearest to our vehicle. The boss was a Chinese uncle with these two little cute Malay kids helping him. A variety of kite patterns can be found there. They actually have a few photo albums showing the kites available for you to choose easily.

Indecisive us in the end chose this batman kite to match the coming-soon Halloween. LOL. By the way, that silly-looking guy is not me!! :S

This batman is considered smaller one among the collection, costing us only 15 bucks with a row of kite cord. Big ones can cost up to RM50 and those are really BIG.

But sadly, batman got bored of flying and escaped. =.= It flew over to somewhere..

Rosmarino Italian Restaurant

That was just another ordinary rainy night when someone was eager enough to jio everyone out for dinner. I don't know where the kick came but they wanted to have something different that night. In the end we came out with the conclusion to have French cuisine somewhere. Guess what? We couldn't locate the restaurant but in fact, we found this Rosmarino Italian Restaurant. lol

#6. Chicken chop, very simple one served with wedges and salad but costs big bucks. RM 28 each serving.

#7. Pizza Americana. None of us liked bell pepper and so this pizza was kind of wasted. This thin pizza costs us RM 26.

The ambience in the restaurant was really good. I once felt like I was in Italy. Hahahaaa by the way, it's pretty nice for couples to go there but too bad I don't have any photo of the surroundings. I like how the waiter served us. He was cute enough to place their dish-of-the-day board beside our table yet nobody actually could see properly since the board was small and short. Not to mention the bad handwritting. lol

One thing I hate was that the Japanese at the other table was smoking. wtf

Food wise, it's just like another western restaurant. It's not awfully bad but it's not awesomely great as well. Again, I like the ambience a lot. Of course they have a variety of wines for us but we didn't really order any.

If you tend to prefer better service than food and don't mind about prices, this is definitely a good place for you to dine in. The whole meal cost us a total of RM 134.55 inclusive of 5% of government tax and 10% of service charge. FYI, we only ordered three main courses and six drinks.

I Can Cook!

Lai lai lai, let me cook something for you.

If you happen to read my previous post then you probably know what it is.

#1. Pork noodle should be served with all these instead of just prawns and meatballs! Pork skin, tongue, intestines, meat and meatballs. Liver too but I don't really like it. I didn't include prawn this time since it was all frozen and I was so hungry!

#2. We really have a lot more soup.. Come as you want!

#3. You better have a stove like this. I mean two-in-one. The one on the left is filled with plain water for boiling the noodle while the one on the right is to cook the rest with soup.

#4. A good observer would have realized from the first picture that the meatballs were frozen and yeah, they were hard like stones that time. I gotta put them into the soup first before putting in anything else.

#5. Pork mince, you probably know what to do with it.

#6. Put your Cintan or whatever kind of noodle you wanna eat into the boiling water. Next you should start with cooking other ingredients like those in the first picture.

#7. Nah! This is what I had after all. Of course not to forget about the coriander and chili sauce. In fact, garlic is a must too.

#8. I realized Jayden was peeping at me.. Perhaps he smelled it. LOL

Pork Noodle

Anyway, here I come to share this pork noodle with you.

This one is very unique as you can't see or taste it elsewhere. It's homemade by my brother. Yeah I'm probably the only one that cannot cook at home :S By the way, here's my most honest comment. The soup tasted pretty good but the noodle was a little plain. Added extra coriander, the soup smells like those I used to smell in my hometown - Penang.

If you somehow put a little more attention on this bowl of stuff, you probably would have noticed that you don't see any pork =.= Well, beside pork meatballs and prawns, there's nothing else. Conventional pork noodle would at least have pork intestine, liver and whatsoever in it. That's what makes this bowl of noodle special again. Well, there's a lot more soup out there and those materials will come tomorrow. Whoever that wanna give it a try can come to my house tomorrow :)

Not to forget about the sauce made by my brother as well. The red one in the smaller bowl behind. I actually mixed some into the soup to make it taste differently. And I actually didn't leave a single drop at the end. I'm so full this late and I'm fat :S

It's quite surprising that some locales actually have never heard of this pork noodle (豬肉粉) before. Perhaps they really don't dine outside so often? Hmmm..

Baby Jayden 6 Months Old

Good news for everyone, the heavy down pour last night has chased away the haze like I wished. Now the sky is clear again! :)

Rain vs Haze

Rain ah rain, please rain away the haze.

I've been hearing that raining would help improve the haze condition but not sure if it's really effective. Though the haze seems to be getting thinner since yesterday, it is not healthy to breathe in this air still. I've been seeing fire fighters running around since yesterday. Seriously, this haze is not cute at all. People around me are coughing and sneezing. And it doesn't just threatens our health. The visibility is getting low. The sun in the morning appearance to be in blur. I can't believe there are people on the earth who actually loves it to be hazy, thinking that the haze could block the sun light to make it feel cooler, that they can just stay indoor forever to avoid the haze. Please don't be stupid. Nobody likes hot weather but don't you hate smoky air even more?

Whichever stupid who's caused this should deserve appropriate punishment, instead of just saying sorry and do it again next month. Anyway, whatever done cannot be undone. Let's pray that the rain can really be helpful. At the time being I would suggest everyone to drink more and bathe more. Take care of yourself. :)

Seriously honestly, I am so bloody fine. I haven't been seeing doctor since so long time ago, if you don't consider dentist as one. And this time, I took my own sweet time to finish all the medicines given by the doctor. Who on earth will ever do this? Patients at home normally would be obedient for only the first two or three days. The medicines will automatically disappear to nowhere the next day. I'm not trying to be obedient nor am I originally born that way. I just wonder why I should waste it, since it's not gonna take away my life. Unless it's some kind of pain killer, then I won't give a shit.

Sammy's Adventures: The Secret Passage

If you ask me about movies, this is the latest I have seen. Sammy's Adventures. As seen from the picture you probably can guess that Sammy is the name of that cutie. But well, Sammy is a guy. I mean, he's a male turtle instead of a female. Don't get mistaken!

Sammy is cute. Yes, of course he is or otherwise he can't be the protagonist in the movie. And he has a life so interesting that I salute. A turtle that travels around the world in the ocean. I can't even swim well. I like it when Sammy first gets hatched. All the turtles try to climb up the hill to head to the ocean but Sammy, the little unique one, could hardly climb the hill at ease. However he does it in the end. No task can be simple at the beginning. As long as you try hard enough, with a little luck at times, victory is yours.

Sammy's met quite a lot of other "people" in the ocean. He's got some really true friends and his love. As if the world is like so small, they can actually bump into each other, though not easily but really freaking coincidentally, after losing each other for so long. Fate? Yes I believe so, but this seems to be pretty impossible in reality, though I don't really know what is happening in the ocean, if those creatures really communicate to each other this way, and if they really get a name instantly once they get hatched even without seeing their real parents.

And about the secret passage, I guess I don't have to look so deeply into it. Once you watch you know what it is, leaving some space for your imagination. I love it when Sammy shows his bravery and passion towards the secret passage. A turtle that survives in the Arctic is truly a miracle. Though this is not real but just some designed storyline, miracles do happen, don't they?

Anyway, I guess it's the best movie I have ever watched in 3D. Oh well, I only have seen two so far. The first was Ice Age: Dawn of Dinosaur like more than a year ago. Adui. Anyway, I like the way when things really appear to be in 3D. It's like something is on the screen but you feel that you might be able to catch it by hands. It's too bad that I'm not as innocent as those kids, who really try to catch the turtles by hands. One bad thing is that 3D movie really make my eyes suffer especially at the beginning, my eyes hurt. :S

First Time in Broga Hill

Ok fine, I'm gonna post some that I took few months back. It was just another freaking energetic day for me. Waking up early in the morning felt good though I don't really recall the exact time.

It took roughly 30 minutes to reach the foot of the hill from my house in Cheras. It was a little rainy that morning. Well, it didn't look like the foot of a hill at all. It is in the middle of a oil palm yard. You can barely see anything when the sky is still dark. Try to believe in your GPS if you have one. And never turn back if you happen to see lights in the yard, else something funny will happen. Those are not ghosts but some other hikers with their torch lights on. Oh yeah, bring your own torch, try not to share one with others. And DO WEAR A GOOD PAIR OF SHOES, don't be stupid like me.

Broga Hill is quite well-known for its ease of climb. Yet some first-timers might find it troublesome. There are four peaks overall. The first peak will take you around 30 minutes to reach with normal pace. The last peak will take another 20 to 30 minutes? I don't remember anyway.

For the whole journey to the peak I did not take a single photo since it was so dark. Photo session started once I reached the highest peak, when the first ray of sunlight of the day freshly fell on the land of Broga city =)

So that's basically all. Some simple photos anyway. So why energetic? I rushed back to Cheras right after I reached back to the foot of the hill then went for class after having a proper breakfast at mamak. It was only 10am if I'm not mistaken. And then I went out again after class. Restless. But of course, I had a peaceful sleep after all! :D
