The crib you are considering might have attached mesh. In order to ensure that your baby's clothes do not get stuck, the holes in the mesh should not exceed a quarter of an inch. Also, it is important that there are no tears and that it is securely attached to the crib with no pieces jutting out.

As long as the crib is not too old it should meet most of these safety concerns as they are government regulated. There is always a chance when buying something second hand that it has been used incorrectly by the first owner or that they have damaged it in some way.
