The Flux chair is an award-winning chair crafted from  sustainable polypropylene. Out of the box, it looks like a giant envelope (shown below, mounted). With the help of a few nifty scores and cuts, this unassuming piece of plastic transforms into a designer chair.  At 89 euros a pop, it’s not the cheapest folding chair on the market, but this one’s really portable and its origami- inspired design makes for a good conversation topic. Plus don’t you just the space-saving design? Each wall mount can carry up to 6 chairs.

Since getting Urban Decay Naked Palette about a year ago, I have no real need for another eye shadow palette. It’s my go-to shadow set for both light day makeup and dramatic night looks. My used-to-death colors are Naked and Buck, two neutral mattes, along with the super glittery Half Baked, Darkhorse and Creep. I also love the frosted shimmery delights of Toasted and Hustle, which I use with the coppery Smog, Sidecar and Sin for a bronzed look. The only shade I didn’t like was the cool, silvery Gunmetal. Oh, the Good Karma shadow brush and Eyeshadow Primer Potion that come with this set is fantastic too.

Sin – champagne with a frosted sheen
Naked –  nude matte

I’d love to bring this set with me everywhere but because of the length of the palette (it’s about 8 inches long) it can’t fit in my small makeup bag or any of my bag pockets. Yes, this is actually one of the reasons I used to justify the need for the smaller Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. Ha ha! Well, the other, more rational reason is that I am running out of Buck, Naked and Darkhorse and it seemed that like that the mini version has similar shades in the form of Naked2 and Faint.

Venus – yellowish off-white demi-matte (just a hint of sheen)
Foxy – pale cream matte (yellowish)
Walk of Shame – light nude matte (doesn’t look as pink in real life)
Naked 2 – taupe matte
Faint – dusty brown matte
Crave  - very dark brown, almost black

I got the Urban Decay Naked Basics matte eyeshadow set recently and must say that I absolutely adore Foxy (a yellowish neutral, PERFECT for my skin) and satiny Venus, which is now the default color I use to highlight my brow bone. I’m also loving the very pigmented intensity of Crave, a deep brownish-black, which I sometimes use as a liner, but for some reason this color is a bit too soft and crumbly when used with a dry brush. Walk of Shame and Naked 2 are a little too ashy on my skin, while Faint is a little too dark for to be used for subtle contouring. To be honest, I’m a quite disappointed with the shade Naked 2 because it looks almost identical to Naked from the first set HOWEVER it looks so different when applied on the eyes – who knew such slight variation in color would look so different on the skin! Naked suits my skin with warm, yellow undertones, so I’m guessing Naked 2 is more suitable for people with cooler undertones?

For my perfect basic eye palette, I’d swap W.O.S and Naked 2 for Naked and Buck from the original set (oh how I love these two shades) and have either Darkhorse or Halfbaked in place of Faint.

Sweet Recipe is a delightful new range from Korean beauty brand Etude House. The packaging is designed to look like mouthwatering desserts, with the campaign fronted by K-pop stars Sulli and Krystal of the group f(x), alongside the members of the boy band SHINee.

The lovely designs and soft, pastel shades, especially that of the Baby Choux makeup base pot, brings to mind another food-themed make-up collection, i.e the 2012 limited edition Jill Stuart Patisserie make-up collection.

Etude House Sweet Recipe make-up range include jelly lipsticks, candy stick lip gloss  ice-cream nail colors, chocolate bar shaped eye shadow and highlighter, multi-color cotton candy style cotton balls, chocolate chip cookie compact, liner in heart shaped choco pots and sliced cake makeup puffs.

Love these looks from Temperley Pre-Fall 2013 collection. So prim and ladylike yet so chic. Adore the long-sleeve tent coat dress!
