Often seeing pics of Lowellians in the Sun, it hard to imagine how most would fit in those two-seaters!!!! Talk about your Joe Biden moments! Say, what ever happened to the hanging straps for standing guests or are the busses no longer that full?

Alas, as a kid, my Dad took me once as (looking back) a bonding moment albeit I don't think I gave any indication of being into "boxing" in the late '40s. Nevertheless, we had great seats that were probably 10 rows back from the ring. To be fair, names like Rocky Marciano, Joe Lewis, were familiar to me cuz in those days at 10 o'clock on a Friday night, you also learned about Pabst Blue Ribbon or Gillette blades as well!!!.
Anyway, this night proved most memorable and I submit it lest some other Lowellian remembers this: a Golden Glover who first appeared in a bathrobe in his corner and danced around like he'd best be at a record hop of the era. Anyway, his trainer took off his robe to reveal this, some might say, flaco kid, bouncing around in his jock strap, much to the howling delight of girls of the age of puberty in the audience.

At one point, he could have been called an American hero. But his actions in the last few years would change that. He became an unpatriotic baby. It is unfortunate that he passed, but he was part of the team trying to divide the country.

Major disappointment and not just the weather. Acts were average at best and the new venue(Lowell) sucks. Was far better last year at Nashoba. Bring it back to Nashoba! Bring back Victor Wainwright.

Tsongas Arena...Back in 1998 the weather was bad and they moved it to Tsongas and they have been having it there ever since rain or shine...I loved the outdoor graduations on CHS field...Also, no more Maroon and White...all the grads are wearing maroon...The girls always wore white...It looked good next to the maroon.
