So, a few weeks ago my Mom and I went on our usual Sunday Adventure, but this time she took me somewhere even more amazing than our usual thrift-shops and restaurants; we went to visit my Great Grandmother's home. It was pretty amazing to see-- too bad I couldn't knock on the door and meet her.

Praise the Lord, I finally took some time out ~~made my brother take a photo of me while we were out to lunch~~ to share what I wore today. School has been my life the past month, but can't complain I'm enjoying every minute of the college life, because come May I'll be a college graduate--un-freaking-believable. I haven't purchased much either this month-- just a pair of leopard jeans, a chunky knit beanie, and this adorable stripped sweater-- not because of school, but for the fact that I put myself on a budget till my trip to New York, which I'll be visiting in 3 weeks for

Teen Vogue Fashion University.

So, my lack of posts are due to my busy busy schedule. Same story, different blog, but tis the truth. School has been owning me, but I really wouldn't have it any other way. I have some really great things things to share and when I have more than two minutes to write about them I will, but this post is dedicated to a little paragraph I was going to use for an abstract, but I ended scratching it. It hurt too much to delete it, because I find it somewhat thought provoking....

"A handful of women in this world are connoisseurs of fashion—a believable statement if you open your eyes to the probability, because they do surround us—they tend to be those most talked about starlets, bloggers, coveted fashion designers, friends and maybe even foes, but what could have actually catapulted such an interest in becoming a Fashionista?"

From Day Trotter to Night Creeper

I adore this video-- not only because its BEST COAST'S new single, or for the whimsical, yet urban take on the classic Romeo & Juliet, but the fashion rocks. It makes sense why I love it, because Drew Barrymore not only directed the video, but concurrently dreamed up what the fashion should be.

So, keep that in mind, because now I'm onto another tangent.

A lot has been brought to my attention, because school is starting in less than a week and for the fact that its my last year of college.

Since I was a kid, back to school has always equated to shopping (in my brain thanks Mom & Dad ;]) and each year I've finished, less and less back to school shopping has occurred-- most likely for the fact the economy sucks and high tuition cost doesn't always allow room for new shoes and clothes-- but having a job has nipped that complaint for me, so no disrespect to my Parents, but affording high tuition cost should be (and is) more than enough (for me).

Side note: I greatly encourage self-sufficency, because its a pretty great feeling when you can support your horrible shopping habit.

That is where my post leads me. When you don't have a large budget to shop you have to get creative. You can't let fashion slip away, because you can't afford the latest trends, which I'm happy to point out tends to repeat itself-- meaning you can get away with vintage or second hand.

Now to the point of my post. If you drag in my love for the new Best Coast video and my point about getting creative you will notice that is why there are two pictures with me wearing the same t-shirt-- obviously inspired by the video, because its the same shirt in the video (Thanks Dirtee Hollywood)-- and cost effective, because I'm utilizing the same shirt for two outfits. The looks I created transition from day trotter to night creeper (smooth huh?! I'm connecting the video again), so get inspired and creative! The first look not only works for school, but a relaxed day and the night outfit is perfect for a party or better yet, a girls night out!

Well not exactly, more like I have to add another notch on my wall to fit this new ~~man in my life~~ addition. Isn't it lovely? Lovely might be the right world, because this necklace is beyond puny. It's the right amount of bold and the perfect reminder to be strong like the fellas.

So, I will admit, this summer I haven't been consistently posting on my blog or photographing, but that's because I've had one hell of a ~~YEAR/~~ summer; what I like to believe was FINALLY UNDERSTANDING WHAT IS MEANT BY LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST. Last summer I had a taste, because two special people passed away, but this summer it was a bit different. I went through my first heart break, jetted off to Europe for a month and braved a 13 hour trek home (ALONE and it was such an accomplishment), met some incredible people, laughed my ass off & danced my ass off, decided to bring more inspiration into my life and make changes to be the best L in all aspects of my life that I can be (with my attitude, my style, my hair, as a friend, sister, daughter, in school, just EVERYTHING), I've accepted I am who I am and people are going to love it (which is fantastic) or loathe it (thats their loss), I feel more driven and confident to keep striving for what I love and what my heart desires.

I will be figuring out more of what I love this next year, which is my last year of college (UNBELIEVABLE), and I can't wait to see that evolution pan out through my blog. I hope you keep reading and I hope I can inspire you too...

I finally got a hold of some new glass-- all thanks to my sweet mamasita.

The funny part about my new glasses is that a handful of people came up to me to ask me are they were real? haha. Sadly, yes. I have really bad eyesight, but I'm so happy I can see a little more clearer.

For the past year I'd been discouraged to not go the ombré route and what is even worse is that I'd really wanted to do it, but thanks to my stylist-friend and me being so insistent of trying it I finally did it! She convinced me that my hair could totally rock it and boy am I glad I listened to her! It's such a refreshing change and I absolutely love it!

I've decided to stay longer in Europe and I couldn't be happier. I don't know a better way to spend my summer than abroad with my family. Life isn't easy, but when it gets rough I feel my creativity gets lost, but the funny thing about creativity is when you really focus and channel the rough times into your creativity some fabulous things evolve. I'm currently going through that, so bare with me as I turn the switch of creativity back on.
