Coastal Photography of North and South Carolina

I recently had a great opportunity to visit Southport, North Carolina. This is the location of a couple of Nicholas Sparks films including Safe Haven. I love the small coastal towns and was even more drawn to it after seeing this movie. I was able to photograph many locations that were shown in the movie such as the Pilot House, Ivans Fish Shack, the piers and marshes, and the house below where the family lived across the street from the market that was burned down in the movie. It is also a short drive from my usual location Wrightsville Beach. Oak Island and Bald Head Island are also very close and I was also able to visit these locations as well. Where ever I go I am attracted to the local gardens...some of my favorite were in North and South Carolina as I love the historic gardens and the Spanish Moss that is found there. I have photographed many aspects and areas of these gardens, they instantly transport me whenever I look at these photographs... One of my most favorite and memorable places to visit was the historic Magnolia Gardens, the area is very extensive with a lot to see. The day I went it got up to 98 degrees and made it very difficult to enjoy and see all of the grounds but these are some of the pictures that I came away with, and more to be uploaded into my Fine Art America shop for sale. I even encountered a crocodile while I was there !

A special treat for me was to be able to visit the Magnolia Gardens near Charleston, SC. It was an extremely hot day, the temperatures were in the upper 90 degrees while I was there, and I would have spent even more time had it not been so hot. Indiana Barns and Winter Photography

I have always been facinated with old, antique, and aging buildings and things for the great detail that they offer and imaging their history and the stories they could tell. The photos here are also included on Fine Art America's photograph page and are located in Indiana. I am featuring a few of my most recent photographs taken in December of one of the first snow falls. The combination of snow and peaceful, serene landscapes are also the subject of many of these photographs.

I fell in love with North Carolina and its Atlantic coast when I first visited in 2010, and even more in love when I discovered Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach in 2011. I am announcing the opening of my photography shop and gallery on Fine Art America this week with the posting of 25 photographs from the Wrightsville, Kure Beach in the Wilmington area of North Carolina. I discovered this place a few years ago when looking for a place in North Carolina to vacation, researched it online and then went to visit for the first time in 2011. I returned in 2012 and again this year in 2013, and have been blessed to be able to take several pictures of the beachs, harbor and the gardens that have made me love this place so very much. I had hoped to take pictures that would remind of the times and places that I visited in hopes of returning and possibly moving there someday.
