I am finally adding photography, my first creative expression outlet, to my Etsy shop ! I am very excited about this as I was able to take some great photographs with a new camera on my vacation to North Carolina this past May. The beach, gardens and nature in general have been my inspiration for my jewelry so I felt it only "natural" to start including my photography as well.

Many of the photographs are from my visit to Wilmington, NC and from local gardens in my hometown. They vary from beach, ocean and garden landscapes as well as close up of flowers.

I will be having a local well-respected photography store making my prints and I can not wait for my first order ! Please come have a visit to my Amy Lucid Designs Etsy shop to see more of my photography.

Getting Ready for the Christmas Season

New Jewelry and New Computer !

I have finally bought a new computer so that I can get more done in a less amount of time, and hopefully be able to blog more.

I am also excited about the new jewelry that I am making. Over the last month I have made more fall and Halloween inspired jewelry including a skull pendant necklace that be worn year round.

I have also made some fall colored jewelry including these pumpkin inspired earrings. I also have another more real-like skull pendant that I will be making into a necklace. I have not decided how I will incorporate or what other materials yet that I will use. If you have any suggestions for a piece you would like, please let me know !

I have also been focusing more on my interests in yoga and creating a zen environment and these peices are the result of that. This includes my Budha face pendant necklace made with carved horn beads and woods beads that are knotted on olive/sage green leather.

I am excited to have a day off on Monday that I hope to be very productive where I will be getting more treasures made. I the works I have a gemstone pendant in red and green that I will be pairing with some Jade beads that my sister bought me when she traveled to China last year.

I am also planning to make more fall and Halloween inspired jewelry. Also very soon I will be making more religious jewelry with crosses as I have received some requests for these.

I was very happy to find out that I am currently being featured on S & O's Productions Blog as one of the Elite Eight Treasuries that are Front Page Etsy worthy. Blushing Mermaid created a beautiful "Seafoam and Mermaid's Tears" Treasury that included my seafoam colored sea-glass earrings.

I was very happy to also be included in this beautiful treasury as well. I had hoped that it would make the front page !!! These earrings are also one of the favorites that I have made as well, and will be working with more seaglass for more earring and necklace designs. I love the beach and anything associated with it and had just made a recent trip to South Haven, Michigan where I purchased more seaglass in unusual colors.

Hill Tribe Choker Necklace on Etsy Front Page

I was so very excited to find out that a treasury that I was included in made the font page of Etsy on May 27th, 20099. It has been about a year since my first and only other front page apperance on Etsy.

I was also excited that this particular necklace was picked by stylinstuff for her treasury. This was not the original design that I had in mind for the materials in this necklace, but I think something was inspiring me and guideing me in the direction to create this necklace.

This necklace I think is very unique and bohemian in style, a style that although I dont usually wear, I think my Native American heritage is attracted to.

Men's Jewelry Survey & Gift Certificate Award

I am announcing a new men's jewelry survey where I would like to get the men opinion on the types of jewelry that they would buy and wear. The majority of my customers are those that purchase jewelry for men and I would like to know what they are most interested in the materials that I use to make my men's jewelry. I typically use the following combinations: one or two gemstone mixed with natural materials such as horn, shell and wood, two or three gemstones by themselves, wood with copper or other metals, silver with gemstones, or sterling or hill tribe silver with leather.

I enjoy coming up with unique designs that you will not find anywhere else but am also interested in what the male consumer would buy. This is where i am going to focus my jewelry designs. I also find that unique materials used in simple design also seems to appeal to some male customers, but I have also sold pieces that used several various gemstones, wood and copper that were used in a unique design that have sold as well. I am very excited about that as it does show that some are interested in my more unique designs !

This is why I would like your feedback and have created a survey in the right hand side of my blog. I am also offering a $5 gift certificate in a drawing for anyone that votes and sends me an email confirmation of their vote. I will pick a winner on the dates below for this gift certificate, after I have started receiving emails on my etsy site. I am so excited today ! I have made another sale after months of promoting my men's jewelry and trying to get the word out. Yeah ! I was able to get another Treasury today that I am very excited about. One of my favorite ways to relax and unwind and one that I need to remind myself to do more often !... is the practice of Yoga and meditation. I based the theme of this treasury on that idea and to include items that will help one do just that ! The budha pendant I also included as a reminder to take time for yourself ! As I look forward to a very busy week this was the perfect treasury for me and I love the color combination of the pinks and brown together, kind of warm and soothing at the same time. I am very happy to be included in the INCROWD Treasury this week by a fellow Indiana Etsy Team Member, SpiceofLife. My Carnelian Necklace has been featured in this treasury. I make womens jewelry but have also been making a lot more men's jewelry as this has been the large portion of my customers at work and the men also enjoy unique handcrafted jewelry too ! I will be making more different styles of men's jewelry as well.
While I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago I bought many new beads and have several new ideas for jewelry for both men and women and am just trying to find the time to sit down and work on these creations! I will also be fo cusing on making womens earrings as I have not added these to my Etsy store yet. But I will be working on earrings this weekend as I am happy to say I do not have to work at my full time job like I thought I was going to have to do. Yeah !!!

Hello Everyone ! Happy first day of summer! It has been a busy two weeks since I have been on vacation and been back at work. My parents have been affected by the flooding with a break in the dam where they live which is also the road out of the lake for them. My work has also moved to a new building at the busiest time of the year for us. I have managed to create a treasury including some of my fellow JET Team members. Which I have included here, titled Cool Summery Greens and Blues that included Yart and Sale items. I will be running my Yart Sale through the 22nd to allow for weekend shoppers. Many items will still remain on sale for a while longer but not at the same prices, so now would be the best time to purchase!

Today is the first day of my vacation and I am excited to be able to spend more time working on my jewelry and will also be trying to post here more this coming week. I will be adding new earrings and new mens jewelry to my etsy shop over the next week. I am going to be concentrating on expanding the variety of items in my shop and will be adding in both the men and womens jewelry. I have a Father's Day showcase booked for June 7th which I will be preparing for.

I still have my poll running at the bottom of the page on the types of materials and jewelry that you prefer. Please vote and let me know what types of jewelry you would like to see in my shop. Please also feel free to contact me with suggestions, comments and custom made orders.

New Treasury of Copper and Coral

Hello !!

Happy Memorial Day weekend !!! I am enjoying the sunshine and warm weather and decided to create a new treasury of warm summer sun colors of copper and coral. These are also my favorite colors to use in summer jewelry and have many personal peices that I have made for myself of these colors and given as a gift for Mother's Day.
