We are delighted to announce the launch of our wonderful mini collection of Pride and Prejudice inspired items, with amazing flittered finishes.

Chatsworth was believed to be the inspiration for Pemberley, Mr Darcy's country residence, in Jane Austen's timeless classic, Pride and Prejudice. The 2005 movie starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen was filmed there.

Art Fair East: 30th November - 2nd December

Lucy will be appearing at Art Fair East in Norwich, Norfolk, this weekend with a beautiful collection of brand new original art and limited edition prints in a collection titled A Fine City, inspired by her memories of Norwich. Details are as follows:

Below is an invitation which gives free access to the VIP private view on Thursday 29th December, as well as to the public open days over the weekend. Freelance Administrator

A unique opportunity has arisen to join the Lucy Loveheart Team. Lucy Loveheart is an international artist and a growing brand with product ranges in M&S, as well as key tourist venues throughout the UK such as Chatsworth House, Blenheim Palace and Kew Gardens. Lucy’s charming naïve style has also won fans around the world through private commissions, licensing partnerships and high street stockists. The product range includes: Original Paintings, Art Prints, Greeting Cards, Stationery, Home and Gift.

We are looking for a motivated, organised and flexible self-employed freelancer to support Lucy and the team with a range of administrative and operational tasks. For the right candidate, there is potential to grow with us.

Roles & Responsibilities

Product management

Assisting the Studio with new product development process
Liaising with suppliers and ordering stock
Act as point of contact with fulfilment partner
Managing new product launches and critical paths

Administrative support

Workload planning
Maintaining and updating website
Managing product database
Handling royalty payments with licensing partners
Handling invoice payments
Producing sales and inventory reports

Sales

Handling trade orders
Marketing to attract new customers
Building relationships with trade customers

Customer service

Handling trade enquiries and setting up new accounts
Handling online enquiries and issues

Key qualities

Organised
Computer literate
Demonstrates initiative
Willingness to be flexible, learn and grow with the role
Attention to detail
Good communicator
Interested in products and brands (ideal but not essential)

Skills and experience needed

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word and Excel
Previous experience of working in an office, managing a busy schedule and/or customer service
Experience of Shopify and Xero (ideal but not essential)

Terms

Hourly rate of £12
Upto c. 16 hours/week
Working from home and occasionally an office space in Norwich

North Norfolk art

A couple of years ago Lucy was asked to create a piece which embodied all that North Norfolk meant to her. The result was a beautiful piece entitled a North Norfolk Daydream. It has been featured in a number of exhibitions and it currently resides at Loveheart HQ where it takes up a whole wall.

As part of an active rural community in North Norfolk there is always something going on near Loveheart HQ and Lucy manages to capture all the tradition and magical elements of these events in her own unique way.

Bluebell wood inspiration

At Loveheart HQ we are lucky enough to have several “Bluebell Woods” on our doorstep. These beautiful little flowers are a great source of inspiration for Lucy and have featured in many of her paintings, cards and prints. We just love to see a carpet of these exquisite little flowers spread out before us and cherish every fleeting moment they are here.

Norfolk by Design at Houghton Hall

Lucy is part of the art collective called 'Norfolk by Design' and will be part of a year long group exhibition at Houghton Hall starting from 30th April. Lucy will be exhibiting a selection of new pieces that celebrate the sculptor Richard Long and his association with Houghton Hall.

Mothering Sunday by Magic Meg

Mothering Sunday is a very old festival. It was the tradition for families to gather together in their “mother” church on the fourth Sunday in Lent. Lent is a time for giving up sweet things and thinking about serious things instead but on Mothering Sunday this was relaxed so that families could enjoy their time together.

Quite often young children were sent out to work in factories or in big houses but on Mothering Sunday they were allowed to go home to visit their mothers. On the way they would pick little posies of early springtime flowers such as primroses, daffodils and violets as a gift for their mothers.

Now Mothering Sunday is often called Mothers Day because although not everyone goes to church, we all like to celebrate special occasions and our wonderful mothers. Children can show their mothers how special they are by making cards and little presents. Here are a few ideas for you….

How to make a “decoupage” card

1. Fold a piece of stiff card in half

2. Find some old birthday cards or magazines

3. Choose pictures of flowers or butterflies and cut them out

4. Make tiny hinges out of paper and stick to the back of the pictures

5. Arrange these on the front of the card and stick down.

6. Send with love.

Mothers Day cakes

Ingredients: 4oz butter 4oz caster sugar 4oz self raising flour 2 eggs

Beat all these together until soft. Spoon into paper cases and bake in a moderate oven for 15/20 mins. When cool cover the tops with icing and sprinkle on hundreds and thousands. These represent all the kisses your mother has given you in your life.

Lucy was invited by the Holkham Estate in Norfolk, to paint a picture of this stunning treasure House and its iconic features. This much loved estate has now opened its doors to the public with a brand new retail space, courtyard cafe and exhibition space. The painting is now hanging proudly in the shop alongside prints and books. This new look at 'Holkham' is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Lucy Wakehurst

Here is a glimpse of Lucy's new painting 'Wakehurst' due to be launched in March. Wakehurst Place is a National Trust property and managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew. In her painting Lucy has featured the stunning Elizabethan Manor house, seeds banks and enchanting gardens. This gem in the heart of the West Sussex, near Haywards Heath, is well worth a visit and Lucy's painting and a collection of giftware will be on display in the shop from mid March
