Today marks yet another significant chapter of my life. I'm turning a year older once again... today. Oh yeah! Time really flies. I miss my teen days. I miss my "student" days. I miss going to school. I miss receiving "baon" from my parents. Best of all, I miss my old ways. As compared to my past, younger-driven days, I work for a living. Sometimes I go to work thinking I'll be receiving my pay soon enough, but there are also time that I am self-motivated... that I will learn new things and stuff like that. To get to the real point, everyday is crucial. Everyday counts. Each decision I make, every tick of the clock counts. That's how important time is for me. Whatever decision I make, that I should not regret. Maybe in a few years time I'll be building and nurturing my own family. Or I could be in another place working and still blogging. :) So as not to feel the pressure in the real world, I always pray to the Lord before I start my day then do things similar to the rhythm of music. Take things slowly and do it with a smile. Leave no space for loneliness for it may drag you down back from where you have started. Oh well... I'm on my past mid-twenties and there's still a lot in store for me. I'm sure of that! Whatever life throws at me, I'll be ready to accept the challenge. Rock on!

I'm tired of my curly hair. The ends are dry and looked dull. Dyed part of my hair has dropped to my ear level (because hair has grown now). I want my normal hair back soon. I NEED IT BADLY! The week after my year-old celebration, I promise to have my hair fix - have it washed, chopped (and dyed, if ever). Nothing beats au naturale hair. :)

Further measures to moderate demand for Foreign Manpower

From 1 July 2012, the Dependency Ratio Ceilings (DRCs) in the Manufacturing and Services sectors, as well as the S Pass sub-DRC in all sectors will be reduced. The changes are:

   •  Reduction of S Pass sub-DRC for all sectors from 25% to 20%;
   •  Reduction of Services DRC from 50% to 45%; and
   •  Reduction of Manufacturing DRC from 65% to 60%.

More measures levied on constructions sector includes a further reduction of Man-Year Entitlements (MYE) by 5% as well as a higher Foreign Worker Levy (FWL) of $650 for basic skilled Work Permit holders in the MYE-waiver category from 1 Jan 2013.

Enhanced Employment Pass Framework
From 1 January 2012, the qualifying salary for the Q1 Pass will be increased from $2,800 to at least $3,000 for young graduates, while older applicants would have to command a higher salary to qualify, commensurate with the work experience and quality they are expected to bring. The qualifying salary for the P2 Pass will be raised from $4,000 to $4,500. There will be no change in the qualifying salary for P1 Pass which remains at $8,000. Concurrently, educational qualifications requirements will be tightened. For more information, please refer to our press release.

Changes to Work Pass Administrative Fees

Hilot + Ventosa on a weekend.

I've been a fan of massages lately. Be it a therapeutic or stretching kind, I'm on it. Compared to my first jobs, it's a bit stress-free than my current ones! Direct supervisors expect much from me so I have to deliver on time. I can attest to the changes that happen to a person... you get better as you grow older. Your priority in life changes. You start to reach your long-term goals. You will handle things differently based on your perspective. Well, those are just some things I notice. Let me know your insights if have any inputs. :)

Going back to massage, I had a wonderful experience last week. I availed a 'Hilot' massage plus Ventosa cupping therapy. The 'hilot' felt really nice. The masseuse kept on rolling and kneading her palms on my "lamig' and she applied medium pressure on it. It took her 45 minutes to massage my whole body. Tehn, ventosa came after wherein a coin is heated and placed on my back. After a few seconds, a cup was placed on it and acted as vacuum or suction. Initially, it felt painful (in my case) because the cup sucks firmly on my back. It has a firm grip on each part the cup was placed. By the way, I had 12 cups on my back in about 15 minutes. These cups, which are lined up in 2 columns, are believed to remove the "lamig" and other toxins in your body because of its warm heat + pressure combined. Did I feel relaxed after the procedure? YES! Definitely! My muscles were relaxed... I feel less pain especially on my right shoulder... and I feel lighter and refreshed. Right after the session, I was given a cup of hot tea to enjoy.

I'm sharing my experience so if anyone out there stumbled across my blog and has plans on getting a massage, she can resort to Hilot + Ventosa. Surely, it will bring a wonderful experience to you and you'll gain its therapeutic benefits. Good for your body. Good for your mind. :)

Just finished revamping my site for an hour while Buster keeps hopping on my bed and steps on my stuff. Finally, I was able to add a new favicon for web address icon. Hey, friend visitor! Check out your upper tab now and see my face plastered on it. I'm famous! Oh yeah! :)

Blogger has a new Dynamic template which suits my blog's mood. It's plain, simple and easy to modify. Aside from the change in my layout, I was also able to find a watermark software to preserve the copyright of my personal photos. So far, that's all I need to officially announce that I've made my comeback into the blogging world.

How did you celebrate your Valentines day? On the morning of Feb 14th, I have seen plenty of signs everywhere. There are couples in red; delivery man carrying bouquet of flowers and huge teddy bears; mushy couples and much more. I have to admit that I still get 'kilig' over it especially if it's me who is gonna receive one Who doesn't love surprises? :)

Speaking of gifts and love, I had my share of love..love..LOVE on Heart's Day. These all came from my friends who loves me dearly. Let the pictures speak for itself.

February, the month of love..

Even I can't believe that we're on the 2nd month of 2012 but what excites me are my plans for the coming months. I won't be mentioning it yet (uh-uh) so as not to pre-empt my wishful thinking. :) Instead of moving forward, let me take you a bit backward in my life happenings.

New Year's Eve 2011... Was it fun for me? It is. Yes! Though a part of me was sad and worried... hoping and praying... My dad got confined in the hospital 3 days before the New Year celebration and we all stayed by his side. I never really liked hospitals unless I go there for an outreach or I am really sick and I have no choice but to go there. When I was in hospital, I feel down and stressed deep inside but of course, I mustn't show it especially in front of my family. Let me give you a short description as to how he looked like back then... He's always on his bed lying in a semi-sitting position. He's got an oxygen and an IV with dextrose plus other meds added to it. He coughs hard that his face gets red. :( he stayed for a week and different meds and procedural tests just kept coming. He has 2 doctors - a pulmonarist and a cardiologist. They would visit thrice in a week only.

To get to the bottom of it, he was discharged but still needs maintenance even at home. So we got 2 50L tanks of oxygen + 1 portable oxygen, nebulizer kit, at least 5 kinds of oral meds. One large tank is good for 1 to 1 and a half days that's why it needs to be refilled every often. Ending is we have to pay for everything and I'm almost broke. I don't regret spending my money for my dad. He is my one and only dad in the whole world! I love him and I'll stick with him until the end.

We celebrated Chinese New Year at home coz my dad can't move too much unless he's using an oxygen tank. I brought this for early dinner....

Counted months since my last blog post. A lot of things has happened in the past, things that has taught me a lot to become who I am right now. But I shall put it behind me (some I will treasure and some shall be thrown in the bin for good) and carry on with great new experiences and decisions to make. Get it on 2012! :)

Tonight, I'm re-formatting Maxi (my laptop) and I shall start blogging soon. Yay! In short, I'm making a comeback. Besides, with all the upcoming plans for this year, I will really, REALLY need this blog.

Modus Operandi in Jollibee Madrigal?

Is it really that dangerous nowadays that even when you’re just eating at a fastfood chain, the things that you worked so hard for gets lost and you are without a clue on what and how it happened?

Here’s the story of another Alabang Bulletin reader who’s family was victimized at broad daylight last Saturday:

We parked in front of Chowking in Molito Mall in Madrigal at exactly 6:30am and had breakfast at Jollibee which is just beside Chowking. There were no other cars but our Lite Ace.

When we came back to our van, we were shocked that the doors were unlocked. We locked it and double checked before eating. Anyway, we opened it and found out all our valuables were not there anymore. My laptop bag (with my laptop and external drive in it), my sister in law’s bag with my brother’s wallet in it, the SLR we borrowed, my sister’s bags and even our 3 pillows and my niece’s and nephew’s milk were all gone.

We called the attention of the guard in Chowking and asked if he noticed some unusual activity. He said he didn’t notice anyone opening the doors. We asked the van parked beside us and they said they just saw that our doors were unlocked but didn’t see anyone coming out from our van. We asked the guard again and this is what he said “marami nang beses nangyari yan, lagi akong nasasalisihan, kakapasok ko lang…”

We called the security and manager of Jollibee and told them of what happened. They all know that it happened before but they haven’t tightened their security. The security of Jollibee said it wasn’t his job coz we were parked in front of Chowking. We called the security of Molito Mall and he said it wasn’t his responsibilty too. And the chowking security said the same too since his duty is 7am. So who’s at fault? Jollibee and Chowking are both 24/7, how come the security is not that tight? They said that the security did his roving and didn’t find anything unusual. And no one saw it at 630 am??

I think kasabwat yung guard of chowking. Parang sobra syang OA. He kept on saying kakadating nya lang, wala syang alam. His name is Carlo. Honestly, gusto ko makaabot ito sa Jollibee or Molito Mall. Sana magbigay man lang sila ng pampalubag loob. We were there for 30 minutes and no police came. Grabe, siguro kasabwat yung mga security. Sabi ng dad k dapat palitan yung security ng mall and jollibee kasi nasasalisihan. Kung ganyan yung nangyari, what more sa iba diba?

Lastly, actually, kaya hindi napansin ng guard ng jollibee yung nagnananakaw kasi there were two big tarps by the railings. Dati pa pala pinapatanggal yun per hindi nakikinig yung Jollibee. Yesterday, I passed by, they removed it na. My point is, did something like this have to happen to realize they have poor security? Tsaka 24/7 sila, walang CCTV? Wow..

We are here not to accuse anyone. We are just printing what one reader told us verbatim and the call for action on this case so that no similar incidents will happen again and victimize more southerners.

We hope this gets resolved soon and that the people responsible are brought to justice.

Thank you God!

He is really good all the time. He really give to those who wait. He will not let you down. It's so true that when you lost something, He will give it back to you more abundantly. I am so thankful really for the opportunities and blessings I'm getting right now. I remember late last year, I was feeling down all throughout the rest of the year. I always pretend that everything's okay but deep inside it's not. I've been applying to a lot of IT companies, some of which called and some did not. I thought it was the end of my IT career. I'm about to lose hope but then, through the prayers from my family and friends, plus my effort <3 I was able to look at the brighter side.

And yes, there is a spark of hope. I saw a light at the end of the tunnel. I got several job offers but one really stood out. I accepted it but, of course, with a lot of considerations. I'm looking forward working and being part of this company. Seems I'd be enjoying on this one coz it's what I really wanted to do! I won't be spending my time working similar to the same old stuff I do at my previous jobs. This one is different... it is promising and it is for long term. I'm just crossing my fingers. I hope this is the break I needed... and I hope the people are warm and accommodating, as well. :)

It just doesn't end there. I have another blessing from Him. It is something I am really fond of doing a long time ago, and now that I have this chance, I was able to carry out that personal mission of mine. This time I'm serious about it. Not only I get to share my talent but help young children nurture their education at the same time.

Sorry if the things mentioned here were a bit vague. Those are simply the details I can share and I can't be more specific about it. But I think 2011 is great for me! Since the Chinese New Year, my blessings grew and still continue to blossom. I think Mr. Rabbit is on my side. And I hope he hops on your side and give you good luck charm.

My posts have been too serious lately. Yes, I admit. This was actually a down time for me. I haven't gone to anywhere else aside from workplace and home. And just like now, I've been lazing around the house all day long... pigging out since last night... watching series since breakfast time... I quite enjoyed my time alone. At least I get updated with all the series I have missed out.

Honestly, this is so not me! And hey, I need to revive my old self again! So let me post here some highlights from my SG trip last August.

Work. Life. Work.

Finally, I had the courage to step up and hand over my resignation letter to our team manager last Tuesday. It was actually a tough choice. I need to choose between fighting over my rights or simply shutting up and leave them be. Obviously, I chose the latter part. I don't want to leave the company having a big issue attached to me. I don't want to be talked about by other people as well, because for sure there will be several versions of the story.

I feel sad for them. I pity them! My manager, senior manager, acting team lead, HR representative are simply a bunch of people who doesn't know how to treat their subordinates well, given that they were placed into that position. As what others tell me, "Mapulitika talaga dito." I never expected that I'll be experiencing this firsthand. Maybe I've been too trusting. Maybe I've been too open, as well.

What happened was a nightmare to me. I couldn't believe up until now that I was brave enough to face them all! I learned my lessons from here and I will never ever forget it. But life doesn't end here. Even if I couldn't find a new job just in time for Christmas, I should still never give up. It doesn't end there. I need to keep on moving. Just like life itself, we need to go with it. :)

With all the stress I am experiencing right now, I know God will never leave me. I know it's still part of His plan. He wants me to realize something. And as for me, I learned my lessons and will continue to learn because I will bring these lessons with me wherever I go. Come early next year, I'll be in my mid-20s. My plans should start to materialize. My goals should be attainable and workable. In short, I should be focused on what I really want in life.

I hope you, guys, will be able to realize what you want in life. It's always never too late and never wrong to be prepared always. Life is sometimes unfair so we should find ways to survive. Life can be cruel but God won't give you something you can't handle. All you need to do is have faith in Him and faith within yourself. Goodluck to us! :)

One month long has passed.. and I can say I have healed. I have moved on. Let me tell you briefly of what has really happened in the months of July until August. Well, I started working on my new found job. I met new people. I got rolled in into a support project. Everything is quite new to me. In short, I was thrilled.

My baby and the vet's asst clipping her nails.

Then my 5-month old baby Kelly got sick. She acquired Parvo virus... got confined for almost a week... All the while I thought she'd be okay but then, she got this terrible sickness which is Distemper. I stayed up late always as I was researching for a possible cure for this HIV-like sickness. I didn't lose hope. I prayed. I searched. I never gave up. One night, I found this article about a vet clinic which performs a spinal tap - the possible cure for Distemper! In such delight, I immediately called the clinic, gathered the requirements - gathered as in I went to Quezon Ave to buy this fluid, looked for a healthy, donor dog weighing more than 10 kilos and not less than 2 years of age. And all of this I did in one Saturday afternoon! During the night, the vet was more than willing to help cure my love pup. She made sure my baby gets the treatment she deserves. Kelly looks ghostly in her shape - thin, shaking, runny nose... all of which are caused by Distemper. Finally, the day arrived when the spinal tap will be performed upon her. My mom, together with my BFFs, were there to show support and love for my baby.

She's having her temperature checked before her vaccination.

Two days after, I was at work doing support task when suddenly I got a text message from mom. She said my baby was dead. I wasn't able to hold back my tears. I was crying while working.. crying while typing.. crying while on my way home. As soon as I arrived, I found her wrapped in a clean paper. Mom placed her inside a box. I opened it carefully just to see her one more time before she completely leaves me. She was heavy in her crouching position, and she still had her ponytail on. I can see she was almost smiling in her deep sleep.

How she looked like few days before her final breath.. I missed you badly. I love you.

That same night, I knew I had to get my much needed beauty rest. Because the ff day, I'll be leaving for SG for work-related matters. But then, my dad was feeling sick. I was panicking inside. I couldn't leave the country with my dad's condition. But then I can't miss the trip or else I'll be paying for the reservations and plane tickets booked ahead of time. So I had no choice but to leave with a miserable heart. Looking on the brighter side, I told myself to calm down, and that everything will be fine as soon as I'm back home. I'll take this trip as my time to think, rest and unwind my mind from stress.

On my few days stay in SG, my sister PMd me informing that our dad was rushed into the hospital. He was very sick! I was worried and all but then I couldn't do anything. Well maybe there is one thing left... PRAY. That's what I did. Prayer is really powerful. And that God is truly good.

So back in Manila, I dashed into the hospital straight from the airport. Actually, no one was available to fetch me from the airport so I made it really possible to be in the hospital as early as I could. As soon as I saw my family, I felt a huge wave of relief washed over me. My dad is better then. His condition is improving.

Then a week after, my sister suddenly texted me. She was confined in the hospital for her scheduled operation the following day. I was in the office then and my reaction was... WHAT?!? I mean, she was just okay this morning when she left home for work, then suddenly she'll tell me that she's going to have an operation. And then she wants me to stay beside her the whole time. I filed for an emergency leave, gathered her things at home, and went straight to the hospital again. As of this moment, she's fine now. She's still alive and kicking.. perfectly healthy. :) Again, God is truly good. He will never let us down.

These two whole months was absolutely tiring, shocking... The challenges given to me were really tough but I'm proud and happy to say that I've surpassed them. I think God will never give you something that you don't deserve. He know what struggles to give us. He knows our capacity and has measured us over time. So all we can do is to hold on, fight for what we think is right, and never lose hope. In the end, something rewarding awaits us. Just believe... pray always... and keep the faith. ;)

Still looking at the brighter side... of all the things that happened to me, I consider them as blessings. It may be a bit tragic but then it will always have a good ending.

Thank you Lord for all the blessings which I have received for the past years. Lately I've been depressed and I was almost ranting and blaming other people the whole time. But now I realized that I'm so fortunate to have all this blessings come my way. And I know that I deserve all of it. You, Almighty One, are really good to me. You never forget me even if sometimes I tend to forget to say a little prayer to you. Now as I go to sleep tonight, please bless everyone and take good care of them everywhere they go and in anything they do. I offer this prayer through your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

The brave, little one.

I just mentioned that Kelly recently acquired a parvo virus that almost took her life for good. Good thing, she was able to fight off her sickness and got back on the right track. She was very strong and full of courage. I was so proud of her! But God really tests us... even with our loved-ones like in my case. Kelly is once again suffering from Canine Distemper, which is just more than a week after her recovery from Canine Parvovirus.

The symptoms are manifesting through her health state and actions. She's having short seizures, runny nose, kennel cough, red and watery eyes. And the veterinarian told me this afternoon that all are signs of distemper. I tried to choke back my tears but it ran down on my cheek. I want to be strong for Kelly. I don't want her to see me crying or make her feel that I felt terribly sorry for her. If only you could see her right now, I know you'll pity her and maybe you can't help but cry, too. Oh dear, I hate this things. I hate seeing someone very sick and helpless. It crushes my heart into a million pieces.

I need your prayers now. Please do include her in your prayers. I will appreciate it. God is really good. And I know He will never let something bad happen to my baby.

It's August... rainy season... sets the mood to a bed weather. And it's perfect to stay indoors - less chance of getting wet by rain, less chance of spending cash while you're out. So let me tell you a brief update on myself for the past couple of moths.

I have started working with my 2nd job last month, and so far it eats most of my time now. I thought Id be able to go back to blogging last month but I was wrong. Hell, yeah! For 3 days straight now, Ive been staying late in the office (say until 11pm) to work on ticket issues which have been assigned to me. I feel very pressured now since Ill be taking a checkpoint exam plus a long quiz for my manager and seniors to see how far I am in understanding the cycle of our responsibilities and the work itself.

Another thing that keeps me busy is my baby Kelly. She is a dog. Dont get me wrong here. Im still single. :P
She was sick last month and I had her confined in a vet's clinic for a week. She was terribly sick (you can actually see her pictures in my FB) and I was almost going nuts. Id call the clinic every day for three times to check in her and know about her current state. It was pretty stressful for me since I was starting to adjust in my job that time, and my visiting time for Kelly was around 11pm (coz her vet is in by 1030pm and I had to wait for him). When she was discharged from the clinic, I was was kinda worried of my hospital bills. It cost me much for her medicines, lab fees plus doctor fee. But it doesn't really matter for as long as Kelly is perfectly healthy and active. Now,Im proud to say that she was a parvovirus survivor! She was a strong and brave pup. And I love her so! I thank God for keeping her safe and giving her another life to live.

Who doesn't want to start up their own business? While Im still healthy, have plenty of time, and capable of making money, I told myself, 'Why not start my own business?'. So my BFF and I thought of putting up an online business on ladies clothes and accessories. We have decided to take the risk and join the sea of sellers in WWW. Haven't updated my blog for a couple of months now. A lot has happened... my silver anniversary (Yup, I celebrated my quarterlife with a blast!), acquiring Kelly (my new beb), being back together with my love (cheesy), and a whole lot more.
