1.Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up?  
Defiintely nice make-up with messy hair. I think that is a wholeee lot easier to pull off.

2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Eyelashed fall out.. That can be somewhat fixed with fakies. Without eyebrows you'd look naked!

 3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?  
Sephora, only because they have skincare and hair products. A whole lot more of a selection than MAC.. plus I'm not a MAC addict by any means

4.Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?
Hmm.. both equally bad, haha! Probably lipgloss/lipliner. I would look awful with a perm.

5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?  
Overdone blush, HANDS DOWN! That's a whole lot more fixable than foundation lines.

6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?  
Biker Shorts. For sure.

7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
I guess a bad orange-y spray tan. At least those would go away in a few days!

8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?
Bad hair color! You can only do so much to fix a bad cut.

9.Would you rather have youtube or twitter taken away forever?  
Eh.. I wouldn't die without either one. Probably twitter. I watch music videos a lot on youtube when I'm bored haha :)

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
Mascara, the world would be horrid without makeup brushes. Fingers aren't always the best option for makeup application.

My New Love: DENIM BLAZERS!

I was browsing on Pixie Market's website last night and found this awesome denim blazer! I've never been a huge fan of the menswear look. It's kind of harsh in my opinion, and doesn't really flatter my body in any way. This blazer has definitely changed my mind! I want it sooo bad! It's the perfect wearable menswear item, and it is absolutely perfect for spring and summer. You could throw this on over a tank and shorts (like I'm fixing to show you) or even over a cute summer dress at night when it gets a little chilly. It's a more oversized blazer.. so you would have to be kind of careful with what you chose to wear underneath. I would stick to more fitted items or you might get lost in this look. Here's one easy way that I would rock this blazer..

Here's the beaut! I'm in love! It's a lighter denim and is a stylish alternative for a lousy denim jacket. A definite wardrobe staple! It will, however, set you back $188, but I think it's completely worth it. It would be a splurge for me for sure.. but I would then pair it with inexpensive items to offset the higher price tag.

These Forever 21Cuffed Linen Blend Shorts would be the perfect match to this blazer! They're very simple, and keep the attention on the jacket. You could wear any type of shorts.. but these are what I would choose! They kind of go along with the menswear theme.. but are still super girly. And I love the little tie belt! These will only set you back $16.90! Such a good deal!

Since I went with a solid bottom, I would probably choose a patterned top like this Tribal Print Tank from Forever 21. It's not too bright and out there so it won't over power the jacket, but it still adds a bit more fun to the outfit.This will only cost you $12.80, plus it has this seasons hot coraly-orange color!

Considering the tribal top is pretty busy, I would keep jewelry to a minimum. Rose gold is very on-trend right now, and I LOVE these Marc by Marc Jacobs Turnlock Studs in rose gold from Shopbop! These would be a great addition to any wardrobe because they're so simple, yet a lot different than the norm at the same time! These are $32, not too bad for a good quality pair of earrings that can go with any outfit!

I picked two different shoes to finish off this look. The first being these Ivory Woven Brogue oxfords from Pixie Market. These are super cute for summer, and are good twist on the oxford trend with the cutout woven look! These will also follow the menswear trend of this outfit. Unfortunately, these will set you back $155. Too expensive for me, that's for sure! But any oxfords similar to these would work! I would probably try to keep them in a cream color to lighten up this look.

These are my second shoe pick. They are the Deena & Ozzy Mixed Band Peeptoe Wedge in Ivory. I found these on Urban Outfitters' website, and they would be a good way to add a little girly-ness to this outfit. They still have the clean lines of menswear, but the light color and the fact that they are wedges make them super girly! I love these, and they will lengthen your legs.. which is good if you're a short person like me. These cost $69, which I don't think is too bad. I usually spend more on shoes.. especially ones like these that are really fun and different!

Hotttt Lips!

Today I wore a NYX lip pencil in Plush Red. This is the first full day I've worn this, and I was plesantly surprised. It's a very rich red with blue undertones. It stayed on pretty much all day.. I only had to touch up a couple times. One being after I ate. Overall I am a fan of this lippy. Its so moist.. my lips never felt dry or looked flaky. You can also wear it one of two ways, as a lipstick- thoroughly applied or as a lip stain- lightly applied and smudged around with your finger. I really do love this prouduct! I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Summer Lovin' With Michael Kors Spring Makeup

Here are two shots of models from the Michael Kors Spring 2011 fashion show. Both of these girls are absolutely stunning, and I am LOVING this makeup look! I will probably do a tutorial for it soon. It's just very natural with that just-been-to-the-beach flush. It's not too glowy.. which can just make you look oily. It's just a simple light brown smoky shadow, some contouring of the cheeks, and a nude/pink lipstick. I probably wouldn't use gloss.. just because I like the matte look since it's more soft and natural. A soft brown liner would get this look.. and I would use pencil for sure. Fill in the brows a bit and you're good to go! I also love this hair! Very beachy. Like you've just came in from a windy walk in the sand. They're both just ponytails or buns that have been pulled and teased to achieve a fallen out look about it. This is just an all around great every day spring/summer look!

It's 3am and I can't sleep..
What better to do than a blog post?
So I've been hooked on this android application called Fashion News. It's a one stop shop for a whole bunch of different fashion related news sites. You can customize what comes up on your page and pick celebs to keep a watch on as well. It has a few little glitches.. but it's free! So I could honestly care less. Well one of the celebs I have on my little homepage is Dakota Fanning. I absolutely adore her.. and to go along with it, her style is killer! Everything about her always looks so effortlessly put together. This is proven to be true once again in a recent picture of here at LAX. She's at the airport and still looks so styleish! I love the layered look with the sweater and jacket. Her jeans are amazing too.. they fit her perfectly and flare just the right amount on the bottom. I want some! Being the sunglass-aholic that I am.. my hands down favorite part of this laid back look is the sunglasses! They are Elizabeth and James Madison cateye sunglasses.. and I am loving them! They are definitely taking a top spot on my want list!

Dolce & Gabbana Spring Looks

I usually don't pay much attention to what's floating down the runway. It's all usually very wild and out there.. stuff I could never actually wear down the streets of good ole Knoxville. I saw some pictures from D&G's Spring runway and I fell in love! It's all very light and fun. White lace is the trend for most of the outfits.. and then there's a little bit of white lace with some awesome animal print! Love it! So here are some shots from the runway and some dresses that I've found that are very similar to these very wearable trends!

Dresses Available to Us!

This Forever 21 dress is very simple and more of the crochet-type lace. It has little ruffle sleeves that barely cover the tops of the shoulder. This would be really cute with some layered necklaces and maybe a pop of color for shoes. It is a very versatile dress.. wear it by itself for a very sweet summers day look, contrast the girly lace with a leather jacket or even a light brown tailored blazer! Plus it will only set you back $22.80.

I really love this Forever 21 dress and was going to purchase it in the store the other day until I realized they didn't have my size! The whole dress is lace with a simple contrasting sash around the waist. I think it makes the lace look a little less frilly and much better for every day wear. And at a mere $24.80 it's a whole lot more on the affordable end as well!

This Aqua dress is from Bloomingdale's and is a lot more fitted than the previous options. This again is a VERY versatile dress. It's very simple, but the lace detailing makes it a lot more intricate and complex. Although you could layer other items on top, I would probably just wear this dress with a chunky bracelet and lighter brown wedges keeping the other accessories to a minimum. I think that would really bring out the beauty of this dress. You could also skip the jewelry and go for a more edgy look with draping a cheetah print scarf (like the one below)around your neck with simple black or brown pumps.It will set you back $88 which is a step up from the past two.

This is probably my favorite of these four dresses. It's Pins and Needles from Urban Outfitters. There is lace on top and then just pleated knit on the bottom. I would wear this all the time because it isn't too lacy but still has enough of the trend to stand out. A leopard print belt at the waist like the one below would compliment this nicely and go right along with the D&G style! You will have to part with $59 for this one, which in my opinion is probably the best price for the look and quality.

This Micheal Kors Leopard belt from Bloomingdale's is the perfect way to add a touch of the animal print into your outfit. It's a bold yet minimal statement that could be worn with plenty of other outfits of course. I think it's important to keep a print like this very classy and tailored. You will be spending $50 dollars for this belt, but I think belts are a good item to splurge on since they can spice up almost anything.

These are Bamboo Colada pumps from Lulu's. They are a easy and minimal way to add the animal print touch to your little lace dress. Being only $34 they are really affordable and would go with plenty of other outfits. They would be a good investment to add into your wardrobe!

You can get this Ralph Lauren scarf from Bloomingdale's for only $45. It is a good piece to spice up any outfit, including a cute little lace dress!

New Shoesies!

I got new shoes! Yayyy! I'm such a shoe junkie, but I hardly ever eill buy them full price. I frequent TjMaxx, Marshall's, and Ross to help me out. I picked these up from Ross last night for $35 dollars! I've been dying for some nude wedges for quite some time now. I think these are just perfect. I love the rope detailing on the heel, the gold trim, and the nude color of course! Just thought I'd share my new purchase :)

Of a Kind!! I LOVE this website/blog oh so much, and I highly recommend going to take a peak. They have a really cool idea going.. about once every 1-2 weeks they release a new "edition". The editions being beautiful items like bags, scarfs, tops, and necklaces that different designers make especially for them! I have never actually purchased an item, but I do know that you would want to get it quick considering they only have a handful of each item made.. and once it's gone, it's gone. Beyond the weekly editions they do a daily blog-like update that showcases a up-and-coming designer that they love. This is actually were I stumbled across the Erica Weiner jewelry line. It's always fun, fresh pieces that I really like. And I always check their site every day!

My Skincare Routine

Skin. It's either breaking out, dry, oily .. somethings always wrong. Skincare is probably one of the most important things to me. I've had moderate acne since I was about ten years old. Seven years of annoying and unsightly acne blemishes. I had been going to the dermatologist up until this past year and have been on all sorts of topical creams and pills. None of this ever got rid of my acne, but it definitely helped keep it from getting out of control. I've came pretty close to accepting that for now I will probably never fully get rid of my acne, but I will continue to keep my skincare routine going strong. I now use all over the counter products with the exception of my Retinoid cream. Considering I'm only seventeen, I'm always on a budget.. so I try to keep my products pretty reasonably priced.

Every night I wash my face with Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power Cream Wash. This is a thicker cream wash with salicylic acid as well as green tea and cucumber extracts for a soothing effect. The wash claims to stop acne before the zits even come up.. and I honestly wouldn't know if that's the case or not. I'm really ready for a new wash. I'm almost out of this one and probably won't repurchase.

Before I wash my face I remove my face makeup with Mario Badescu's Special Cucumber Lotion. This is actually a toner, and I absolutely love it. It's very refreshing and just makes me feel clean! I also use this in the morning to wash my face of any left over dirt and oils.

At night I also use Clearasil's Daily Clear Acne Treatment Cream. It contains 10% benzoyl peroxide, the highest amount without a prescription. This is followed by Purpose Dual Treatment Moisture Lotion with SPF 15. This product was recommended to me by my dermatologist and I've used it for the past three years.

Every other night I use a retinoid all over my face. On those nights I also use Mario Badescu's Silver Powder after I wash my face. From my other post you should know that this is one of my all time favorite products!

On the nights I don't use those two products I use glycolic peel pads.
I am currently on the search for a good spf-filled moisturizer for the morning.
I don't use a washcloth when I wash my face, but I do use these little knitted facial scrubies that I got from a shop on etsy called Ritzy's All Naturals.

I switch my routine up every few months but this has been pretty steady for quite a while now. I feel like its working pretty good for me.. but like I said before, my acne isn't packing up and leaving anytime soon. It's all just about combating and keeping it under control.

New Nail Polish.. again :)

It's official, I'm obsessed with nail polish. So I might as well show off my new polishes, right? I've gotten quite a few lately that I'm loving.. the first being OPI's Dating A Royal. In spite of the royal wedding I thought this color was appropriate. It's a very pretty.. well, royal blue. Very fun, bright and a pretty deeper summer blue! Next is Essie's Tart Deco, a light coral. I'm wearing this color right now and I love it! Very fun for spring and summer. Then I got OPI's Samoan Sand. I have a new found love for neutral colored nails.. this and Dulce de Leche being my top favs. This is more of a sandy color than Dulce.. with more brown undertones. Very natural, but still quite a statement color in my opinion. OPI's Too Hot Pink To Hold Em is a color me and my mom got to share. I usually prefer pinks and reds on my toes, and I was due a new one. It's just a really good hot pink with more of a red tone. I got another pinky color for my toes.. OPI's Cajun Shrimp. It's a bright coral pink and is probably my new favorite toe polish. It's just a really bright happy color :) I went to Ulta over the weekend and found this next color on the clearance rack for $2! It's Ulta's Green With Envy. I have been wanting OPI's Here Today Aragon Tomorrow for quite some time but have always ended up picking other colors over it.. this is very similar to that color being a dark emerald green, but at less than half the price! My last one is kind of a stray for me.. I hardly ever buy drugstore nailpolishes, but after I saw the seasons new Marigold trend I had to pick this one up. It's Sinful Colors in Canary Yellow. It's not just a basic yellow, it has more golden tints in it, and for only $2 I had to get it! :)

new OPI nail polish always makes my day!

Over the past week I have been on a major nail polish kick. I've painted my nails several different colors a day searching for something that I really like.. something that makes me happy when I look at my nails. I'm a big fan of deep colors that are almost black with hints of purple, green, red or blue. I've gotten pretty sick of the same old dark nails every day so I gave some bright pinks and reds a try, but that didn't do the trick. I got out some orange, royal blue, yellow.. none tickled my fancy. After hours of putting on and taking off I found one of my Aunt's polishes that she had left at my house a while back.. OPI's Hopelessly In Love. I have NEVER worn light pink or nude colors, but what the heck.. I'll give it a try. I really liked the color, but it was just a little too light for me. I went to Trade Secret tonight to see about picking up a new color or two. I'm always overwhelmed by the amount of colors. It seriously amazes me, and I ended up looking at the same little stand of nail polishes for almost an hour. I finally picked two different colors. One fun, and one every day polish. Both were different than any color I've ever had or worn.. and I'm so excited about them!

I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with this color!! It's OPI's Dulce De Leche. It's a warm pink with a hint of brown to neutralize the color, and it looks even better on my nails! I put this on my thumb as soon as I got in the car and seriously screamed I was so excited!

This is my new super fun color, Jade Is The New Black! I love it! Blues are very in this season, but I'm not the biggest fan of just plain baby or bright blue. So I chose this teal color to put a little spin on the trend. This is probably one of my favorite colors (It's the color of my new lamp and in my new quilt for my bedroom!). Plus it looks really pretty on! Very fun for summer.

A few new items..

In my last post I mentioned Forever21 as one of my go-to stores for affordable items. The cheap prices make it very easy to fill up your wardrobe. I was very intimidated by this store when I first went in one.. but now I could stay in there for hours! Here are a few items I have purchased from Forever21 for this spring and summer.

One of my favorite new purchases is this tribal print skirt that I got for only $12.50. I love the bright red that contrasts with the black, white and nude. It makes the skirt really fun and extremely versatile. I would probably pair this with either a black tank or a gray or white solid t-shirt. Black strappy flats would look great with this look. I would maybe where a chunky black ring or a sleek necklace with this outfit, but I would definitely keep the accessories to a minimum.
Tribal print is VERY in by the way :)

I'm a huge fan of the tribal print trend.. so here's a more simple t-shirt that I purchased. It's just black and white so this would be super cute with a solid bright colored skirt or pair of shorts. Any type of gladiator sandal would look great with this look, and once again I would keep the accessories to a minimum. This shirt is only $15.80 and is super comfy! It's not too thin, but it's still very light weight.

I LOVE floral prints and dresses with some sort of sleeve.. so I got this cute flowy dress for $19.80. Its really comfy and I'm always a fan of buying a whole outfit in one. It comes with a little belt and all you have to do is throw on some sandals.

Spring fevaaa!

Spring (and summer.. but I won't push it) couldn't come any sooner! Shorts, lightweight flowy tops, sandals! Ahhh.. I can't help myself. So I'm on the hunt for a few new spring time wardrobe staples. I usually will splurge on one or two versitle items and then shoot for sales and cheaper store like Forever 21 for the rest. My style is generally pretty simple and basic.. so here's a look at what I will hopefully be purchasing soon for this spring!

Chambray button ups. My new favorite clothing item. I already own one from Jcrew, but I've worn it so many times I could really use another. Who ever said too many of one thing was bad anyways?

I love this pink oyster chambray shirt from Madewell. It's super light weight, and would go great with almost anything. Tucked into skirts, with denim shorts, over leggings, or with capris on cooler nights. Wear it buttoned or unbuttoned. I would probably get a size up because I like them to be a little looser. It's my definite go to item for spring.

These Sam Edelman sandals from the Spring collection are absolutely adorable! I LOVE the lace up front and the nude color that will go with everything! I have so many pairs of basic sandals, but I really like these.. they're different but still simple and definitely okay for every day wear!

This is probably the last splurge item I would purchase. I always get a new bag for spring, and I really like this one from Urban Outfitters! It's really big and will fit anything and everything you could possibly need on those long spring and summer days. You can slide in your makeup bag, bikini, extra shoes, even a beach towel! It comes in a light nude color too, but light colored bags never work well for me and this redish color is really fun and pretty!

I hardly ever spend much on jewelry.. well for that matter I don't really wear jewelry that often anyways. Except rings. I LOVE RINGS. And usually have one on every day. This ring from the handmadebybluebird shop on Etsy is super cute and vintagey.. and only $14! I love the filigree band and the big baby blue stone! It would look great with almost anything you would wear.

Last but nowhere near least.. these Erica Weiner bracelet sets. You get four carefully selected vintage bracelets for only $35. They would be cute worn separately.. or all stacked together. However you feel like wearing them. I love the thrill of getting a surprise in the mail too since you never know which bracelets they will send you. Plus we all know how much I love Erica Weiner jewelry!

Lily Lolo anyone?

I have been looking into Lily Lolo mineral makeup. I've been debating if I should purchase some samples or not and was wondering if anybody you know has heard of it or tried it before? It's a European line. I've used bareMinerals makeup powder since I started using makeup four years ago. There's not one thing wrong with what I am already using, I'm just interested in trying something new.

I'm a jewelry addict. I buy it all the time. But it's pretty unusual for me to get something that I will wear for more than about a week. This line of jewelry has changed that completely! Erica Weiner's line of jewelry is my love. I guess you could say I'm obsessed. Her jewelry is EXACTLY my style. Every single piece. It's delicate, yet bold. and vintage in the most perfect ways. For the most part, with the exception of the Fine & Antique items (which are good prices for what they are, I just can't afford any of them), it is all reasonably priced in my opinion. So go check it out!

This is the ring that Nick got me for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE it! I wear it every single day. He's bought me something new for my birthday from there, and I CAN'T WAIT! I'll make sure to post pics and let you know what it is when it gets here! (which will hopefully be tomorrow!) I am also planning on purchasing some things for myself, but of course I'm waiting to make sure I don't double buy. Although that might not be so bad :)

If you don't already know about/use the following websites you should REALLY look into them. I check all of them almost every day and have bought items from all three of my favorites.

These websites are invitation-only (or you can sign up, but you usually have to wait a few days to get a response and gain access to the website) private sales. New sales are added daily and usually only stay up for a few days. Once again, I was a bit skeptical when I saw these sites, but after buying several different items from all three I don't have even the least bit of doubt. My favorite purchase was a pair of bright blue special edition RayBan Wayfarers that I got from Gilt for $79. That's $80 off! And they are 100 percent real and authentic. Mom and Aunt have both bought Cole Haan shoes and Marmot jackets. I have also gotten a couple Free People clothing items too. So basically, these sites are GREAT! And I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. They have such a wide range of items. Clothing, shoes, bags, electronics, accessories, furniture, home goods, kitchen ware, cosmetics.You name it, and I'm sure it's been on one of them. Even vacation deals from Gilt! (Gilt's website- Jetsetter.com and that's another story in itself)

Where to begin...

I might as well dive right into this. My latest finding is the Mario Badescu skincare line. And I can honestly say I'm hooked. I stumbled across the line in a youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/user/juicystar07). The first product I purchased was the Silver Powder. It claims to "Immediately diminish blackheads, Unclogs pores, and absorbs oil". I was a bit skeptical about it at first, especially considering how cheap it was. I mean $12? Seriously? It was about a week before I got it in the mail. I got to choose three free samples that came along with it. I chose the Cellufirm Drops, Whitening Mask, and the Special Cucumber Lotion*. Being the product addict that I am, I slapped the Silver Powder on my face the first chance I got. It's pretty simple application and not even the least bit messy. You just wet a cotton ball and dab it in the powder. When you wipe It on your face it turns to a thick mask like cream. You leave it on for ten minutes and then clean it off with toner. This stuff is amazing. My new all time favorite product for sure. After one use the skin in my t-zone, especially my nose, had noticeably tightened and I had significantly less blackheads. My mom, aunt, and Nick all three commented on my skin without knowing I had applied anything. That same night Miller, Mom, and Aunt all made me apply the powder to them. Then tonight I did it to Nick too. Nick and Miller both have fairly bad blackheads, and their skin looked SO much better after one application.
