I just discovered Kevin Smith’s Bionic Man comic on Comixology today. The story is fantastic and a great update to the classic TV show which was based on the book Cyborg by Martin Caidin.

Apparently Kevin Smith write a screenplay he wrote in the 90’s that never got adapted to film. I’m kind of glad they never did a film because after they rejected his script they were going to go ahead with a full comedy version of the movie.

I’m really thinking that the concept of the Bionic Man could be adapted into a RPG Setting. It has a group that rebuilds injured soldiers and sends them out on top secret missions. If you use the concept of this comic there is a rogue Cyborg out there from the first batch that is building his own army of cyborg soldiers and wants to take out the OSI.

Anyway, I’m only 3 issues into this book so I think I’ll be dropping some more money on it in the near future. I’d recommend picking it up, it’s available on Comixology

Haven’t had a chance to play yet, but the rules look like it will be a very competitive game. Lots of good reviews and it really isn’t that expensive $39!

I just remembered I had a Tumblr account, so I re installed the app on my phone, cleaned up who I was getting updates from and all that.

What I am reading! I’ve picked up a few books recently, but the main ones I’ve taken too are Dungeon World, and Old/New School RPG that brings back the fun of the old dungeon crawls from the early days of the hobby.

Marvel Heroic Role Playing Civil War Premium book. I’ve got the basic book too, but if you haven’t tried it, this is as close to a comic book feel as your going to get with a RPG. My group playtested the game before and took to it easy enough, I would give it a try if you can, the basic book is less than $20.00.

My last new purchase was Barebones Fantasy, another take on old school gaming with a simplified system that I’ve really taken too. This is rules lite and less than 100 pages but a fully functioning RPG that is getting a lot of community attention.

Finally, I broke out my D20 Modern book again and have started going through it for a possible new campaign in the future. Even though it uses the D20 rules it has some really cool tweaks to make it a new experience. We’ll see if that happens.
