DIY: Ikea Hemnes Bookcase Hack - Infant Wardrobe, a photo by Sanctuary-Studio on Flickr.

Our first ‪Ikea hack‬! I came up with this simple wardrobe solution for the lack of closet space in our home. Plus I found the perfect ‪Moon Phase‬ fabric by designer ‪Lizzy House‬ to go with our Outer Space/rockets & robots nursery theme. ‪

What we used:
1 - Ikea Hemnes Bookcase
4 - Synergy Center Closet Rod Supports
2 - 33 1/2" x 1 1/4" Wood Dowels (from the hardware store)
1 - 28"- 48" White Tension Rod (to hold the curtain)
2 1/4 yards - Lizzie House Moon Phase fabric in Teal

On Friday, April 26th under the watchful eye of The Man in a very Full Moon a star (of the celestial-type) was born! It is with great honor and joy that Mike and I share with you the news of our son's earth-side debut. Shortly after Zephyr's arrival Mother Earth welcomed him with open arms as she quaked gently beneath our feet while our little family sat alone quietly bonding for the first time. We are so humbled by this precious gift! I've fallen in love all over again with my husband as I watch him transition so effortlessly into fatherhood. And words cannot describe the overwhelming feeling of love we both have for our little boy! We are all currently resting and mending comfortably at home. Mike and I are extremely grateful for the friends and family members who have offered their support (especially by way of meals), love (notes) and guidance this past week!

Twenty-twelve marks my 13th consecutive Burn! It was a busy year for Team Shutterilla...we made a Homeslice Sign, created an LED light installation within camp and built the Janky Bar. Oh yeah, we also made a baby!!! Shutterilla - Fertility 1.0! I'm pretty amazed at the number of photos I captured during Burn week considering the amount of sleep my body required. Creating life is no joke, yo! But enough about us, let's get on with the show...

What's Thanksgiving without a last minute DIT(ogether) project?! A huge thanks to my folks for helping me pull this together just in time for dinner! We cut the fabric 15" wide. I finished the edges with some No Frey and let it dry over night. This morning we taped off the design (left image). And, lastly, my mom (since I'm off the toxic fumes for the next few months) painted the runner with some gold spray paint we had kickin' around.

This farmhouse has been in Paul's family since the 1700's. Paul and AnneMarie are currently renovating the interior. It's absolutely dreamy inside. The history of this home and the 200+ acres it's perched on is quite fascinating. This place is magic...even in the height of the Superstorm.
