My poor plurk line has been teased about this pose prop for probably a month now. I wanted something over the top and a challenge for me to complete for my pose store, !bang poses. Boy, was it a challenge! Its now my all time favorite prop that I’ve made thus far. So I’m a little biased.

This is a full raw photo as well as only a sample of the poses on the boat prop. I snapped it for the vendor pics but never used it. The photo, I thought, would be ideal for my blog. Truth in advertising, no editing of joints and silly things on the poses.

Huge ol’ thank you to Rezzie for lending me her time and cuteness. She’s the other blonde!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge – Deep Pink

This color was specially chosen for this week in my 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. The color selections are randomized except for the holiday weeks. Since this is my challenge, I like to pick a shade of pink during the week of my real life birthday.

I may have went overboard with the color this week. Do you like the pink hair? I can think of at least one week during last year’s challenge I changed my hair color. Maybe I’ll keep the pink hair for a few days this week…

Daydreaming

The theme for this round of Collabor88 is Daydream. Instantly I’m thinking of soft pale tones of blues and yellows and completely relaxed just like in my prior post.

In all the items for the monthly event the League necklace caught my attention. I didn’t realize that the sky photos in the charms move. Its a moving cloud scene sliding across the charms as if a continuous sky. Tons of different numbers of chains and charms to choose from in the pack.

Using this necklace, perhaps in another version from the pack, would be ideal for my Dream Big List posts!

Collabor88 opens tomorrow! The eighth of every month brings new surprises and several must-haves at fantastic prices. One of this month’s hot items is from Isla Gealach of Cheeky Pea.

The mesh hammock is loaded with animations for singles and couples. Yes, animations! The single animations are sweet but for me this couples animation was the dearest.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge – Pueblo

I nearly forgot to draft my post for my 52 Weeks of Color Challenge! This color and I didn’t get along very well. It was a tough one to figure out. My inventory is packed with neutral colors but oddly not this pueblo color. Honestly, I’m not sure if I really get the tone right but I do like the outcome.

On plus side items still fit well on my newly updated shape. In case you missed it, here’s my recent tutorial about fitting mesh.

Tutorial: Fitting Mesh

The past few days I’ve been tweaking my shape to get it to fit a particular tank top from Jane. After awhile I did give up and trashed it. Lesson learned: Demo mesh prior to buying! But the story doesn’t end there.

I shared my frustration with Zyrra Falcone since now one of the newest releases from ColdLogic doesn’t fit me either. These two brands always have had fit me so well and never needed to try a demo. So what changed?! She and I looked at my shape and found the answer after a few minutes.

My shape is curvy but in the fat way. Eek, the f word! I don’t want to loose the overall look of my shape just to fit mesh. Afterall that’s what I identify with, right? Zyrra was able to break down how mesh is rigged related to avatar shapes which made adjusting my shape easy without taking away my identity. Here’s how I understand it: Mesh is rigged to the shape’s “skeleton”. Shapes are designed using muscle (fat) and frame (skeleton) sliders. The trick is knowing which slider affects muscles and what ones adjust the skeleton.

First, mess around with your own shape, but not before making a copy, by minimizing muscle (fat) sliders on the torso, legs and arms. These are the usual areas that are affected by mesh. When you minimize a muscle slider you’ll need to find a corresponding skeleton slider.

In my case my Torso Muscle slider was nearly 50 points and my Shoulders slider was in the twentys. This combination gave me the curves I liked in my shape. Decreasing the Torso Muscle by 15 or more points and increasing the Shoulders slider by just a few points, I lost what looks like nothing to my curvy shape.

The below photo shows the differences in the two shapes and how two different shirts fit on both shapes. The top row of photos I used my old shape (more fat, less skeleton) and the bottom row is updated shape. There really is no difference in my shape’s appearance but check out how much better the two shirts fit:

I’m now on a mission to find other sliders pairings that will compliment each other for the lower torso. Feel free to leave comments about the slider combinations that you find. Hopefully the right combination will help you to fit some of the popular mesh designers without uncompromising your own identity. Maybe this will now cease the forever whine “I can’t fit into mesh” for most folks.

As a side note: Not all mesh designers weight their mesh items the same way or using the same care to do so. Demo everything prior to purchase. Also, I typically wear a medium in Standardize Sizing. I believe both ColdLogic & Jane use Standard Sizing.

I adore plurk. Today was full of honesty memes. Loads of people doing a variety of plurks, some very personal and sent in private plurks to others like me speak their minds out in the open. Honestly I have nothing to hide. I’m just a little shy, surprisingly. A little nudge is all I needed to get out what I had on my mind for so long.

Thank you to the “Nobody” who started the meme. It was very cathartic.

Its been a little while since I’ve had Mr. Express ~~Jubilee~~ Zenovka in a blog post. This one was special. We both love the mesh ears from Aitui. I’m thrilled to have Express appear but also there are new mesh elf ears in the store too.

I loaded up all my plug art sets from prior ear huds and snagged a new wooden set. Super easy to load in new plug art and tint the ear skin. Express already had the same wooden plug art set. Without realizing it we both choose the same plug art but he changed it for the photo.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge – Thistle

My kick off post of my 52 Weeks of Color Challenge is late this week. Usually I would have been concerned but realized that this gives others the change to be first. I’m still not sure what the hype is to be first few posts to comment. It adds a fun element to our growing group.

Keeping this post short as well. Loads of awesome to catch up on inworld. I need to get back to the Pose Fair before it closes tomorrow and finish this huge pose prop I’m working on for summer.
