Do people respond to kinky, sexually-charged advertising more positively than they do to tepid, non-sexual commercial ads? If we consider the powerful and oft-used adage that tells us that "sex sells" then the answer to the question is a foregone conclusion. Or is it?

In any event, advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather of Bangkok, Thailand conceived this raunchy print ad campaign for Mr. Curtain. Do I feel inspired by the kinky images to purchase this product? Absolutely not! The last thing I want every time I look at my curtains is to envision sex orgies taking place underneath them. But that's just me.

Notorious mass murderers Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Kim Jong-il have been given a most colorful pink make-over complete with earrings and heart-shaped tinted glasses by American artist Scott Scheidly. In reference to the work, the artist states that "the idea stems from Spoke Art gallery's "Coen Brothers Vs Quentin Tarantino" show I did last year from the film 'Inglorious Basterds'. I had previously come up with the idea of an all pink show and figured this was a great starting point.

"The idea is really all about the power of colour and symbology and how it can change perception."

"The reaction has been huge and mostly positive. I understand not everyone is going to get this type of art or humour. Controversy is always a good thing though.I decided to paint Hitler as actor Martin Wuttke."

Pretty in pink? Hardly. Ugly is ugly. But I do find those earrings, especially the one on Stalin, kinda funny.

Madonna kicked off her 'MDNA' concert tour in Israel in plenty of style-Madonna style: There is controversy galore in Israel because of the AK47 and the other guns displayed onstage; There is also the usual religious imagery and symbolism Madonna loves to inject into her shows that always end up pissing off the religious types. And there is also plenty of other shit on the shows that The Queen of Pop has been getting away with for 30 years and that always seem to rub many people the wrong way every-freaking-time. Lol.

But let me be frank. Let me state my bias: I like Madonna. I like her because I think she is very talented and I like her music and her elaborate concerts although I have never been to one of her shows. But most of all, I like her because at the age of 53, she carries on in spite of (or maybe because of, who knows)her many haters and detractors. The woman does not give a rat's ass; she does as she wants and continues to be immensely successful with a humongous base of adoring fans. And I say, let the haters hate Madge. Let them eat cake. Who gives a rat's ass.

Artist’s Statement

Princes, warlords, dandies and diplomats take the stage to form a lavish series of portraits titled The Royal Dozen. Through the study of nobility in history and portraiture, multimedia artist Alexia Sinclair has produced twelve innovative artworks formed from thousands of photographs and illustrations.

Legends of the lives of the nobles continue to captivate us today, from the pampered decadence of Louis XIV to the epic legend of Alexander the Great. Other rulers who also form this series are less renowned yet equally intriguing. An unusual blend of Royalty, their selection was based on their contrasts in leadership, their flamboyance and their enduring influence upon society.

Traveling the globe photographing architecture and landscapes, Sinclair returned to Australia to hand make bespoke costuming for each portrait. Photographing role‐playing models and props in the studio, she then meticulously stitched together her photographs and hand illustrations like pieces from a jigsaw puzzle.

In the style of the renaissance masters, Sinclair weaves a myriad of delicious symbols and motifs into each portrait, allowing each story to unfold. Exploring the complexities of the famous, the infamous and the obscure, these portraits celebrate historical realities within the guise of contemporary fantasy, a kind of conversation between the past and present.

Once again Alexia Sinclair has outdone herself with this magnificent work. I was first introduced to Sinclair's creations via her series of beautiful and exquisite digital portraits of twelve of the most influential women in European history called The Royal Twelve which was featured in Lunatica Desnuda previously. Striking Likeness of Sylvester Stallone Spotted on 500 Year Old Raphael Masterpiece

Harvard student Anthony Zonfrell, 20, who was on vacation in Italy with his family made an amusing discovery on one of Old Master Raphael paintings: The Ivy League student discovered the likeness of actor Sylvester Stallone, best known for playing boxing underdog Rocky, on the background of a 1511 Raphael painting called The Cardinal and Theological Virtues which features Pope Gregory IX approving new Papal laws.

Zonfrell said, “My cousin had told us about how she had seen it when she went, so we were on the lookout. As soon as we saw the painting, we knew it was him. My whole family thought it was hilarious. It could actually be a portrait of Stallone.”

Looking at that particular "Rocky" photo of Stallone side by side with the subject on the painting, it is definitely inevitable to see a hilarious resemblance. Who knew that Stallone was that old?

These human paintings are part of a creative effort called "Museum Anatomy" which seeks to impart fresh life to and recreate famous works of art by such masters as Rubens, Picasso, Botticelli and others on the human body. I'd say the result is simply masterful!

The Last Sitting--Marilyn Monroe's Topless Pictures From Her Last Photoshoot Ever

These are vintage chromogenic pictures of Marilyn Monroe who, almost 50 years after her death in August of 1962, remains one of the most famed and celebrated icons in the world. The topless photos of Marilyn, collectively referred to as "The Last Seating", were snapped by photographer Bert Stern for Vogue Magazine in 1962 just six weeks before the platinum blonde mega diva was found dead at the age of 36 in her California home.

The famous prints which emerged recently, are scheduled to go up for auction on May 8th in New York.

Fantastic Fusion of Drawing and Photography--Ben Heine's Amazing "Pencil Vs Camera"

"Pencil Vs Camera" mixes drawing and photography, imagination and reality. It’s a new visual concept invented and initiated by Ben Heine in 2010. It's full of magic, illusion, poetry and surrealism. Ben published his first "Pencil Vs Camera" image in April 2010 but the series is the result of a long graphic exploration and a logic consequence of his personal artistic development. Ben usually integrates an inventive hand made drawing in front of a realistic background. There are several methods to achieve the same effect (see "Interviews" for more info). Ben’s hand is always clearly visible; it represents the close connection between the viewer, the artist and the artwork. The drawing is always in black and white while the photo is often very colorful, this amplifies the contrast between the two mediums. In this series, Ben likes to focus on people’s life, portraits, nature, animals, architecture... Among others, the main themes approached in "Pencil Vs Camera" are: Love, Freedom, After Life, Friendship and Nature. Ben says: "I just make art for people. I want them to dream and forget their daily troubles. I used to write poems many years ago, I want to convey a poetic and philosophical meaning into my pictures, each new creation should tell a story and generate an intense emotion, like a poem, like a melody". Because of their originality and the visual innovations Ben brought in his artworks, this series has had a huge impact on the graphic design community and has generated several buzz on the Internet. Ben says the initial idea of this "Pencil Vs Camera" concept came by coincidence while he was writing a letter in his family house in Braives, Belgium.

An artificial system that copies or simulates the act of flying an aircraft in a realistic manner is a flight simulator. A flight sim is available from a computer game to actual cockpit replica placed on a hydraulic actuator, controlled by sophisticated computer technology. Use of flight simulator in the aviation industry is varied - from training pilots and flight crew to design and development in civil and military aircraft. Aerospace manufacturers also use the engineering flight simulators to develop and test flight hardware, software and aircraft systems. Mainly a flight sim is used for training of pilots. The Part Task Trainers (PPT) is for the beginner covering one or more aircraft systems and the Cockpit Procedures Trainers (CPT) is meant for practicing drills and checks. The advanced Full Flight Simulators (FFS) with motion platforms have the ability to move in all six degrees-of-freedom (6-DoF) combined with visual system to view the outside world. These high-end simulators have a Control Loading System to give a feel of real forces on pilot controls to trainee pilots. An advanced flight sim also provides a pilot the experience of three rotations and three linear movements. Training for normal and emergency operating procedures such as engine failures and aircraft system malfunction like flight instruments, hydraulics, electrics, pressurization, etc. can be availed in a flight simulator. Flight simulator software was the harbinger of programs developed for computer game technologies. Each game was mostly based on the real world, striving for realism to reach a wider audience. The games can be used for basic flight training apart from leisure time engagement. Various flight sim software provide for flying experience in different types of aircraft in good number of landscapes and environment. Home entertainment changed drastically after flight simulator software was available for free download on the Internet. Rest assured, I have tested out nearly every Flight Sim on the market today, and I have found one which I can personally recommend. Stop wasting your money and time on disappointing flight simulators. I have put them all through the test and after hundreds of hours flying I have finally found a winner and I can guarantee it will be the closest you will get to a Real Life Flying experience without actually leaving your house.

PETA has a long history of getting it's super bowl TV adverts banned. This year's ad is a compilation of outtakes from last year's audition for the infamous "Veggie Love" ad which was declined by NBC. I fully expect this year's ad to be rejected and for PETA to get a lot of buzz because of it.
