Miguel Cotto vs Antonio Margarito 2 will collide again on December 3rd at Madison Square in New York. I think plenty of assume Margarito is big and strong for Cotto, but in my point of view I am most concerned about Margarito eye will let him execute. They say he is fine, & doctors have clear him to fight, but severe eye injuries for boxers are not good at all. It is not going to take a world class jab artist to mess up Margarito, probably, & Miguel Cotto is no chump.

My gut feeling is Steward will have him going right at it, because whatever else about Margarito aside, he is triple hard & his stamina is excellent. In case you let him continue, he'll be there at the finish of the fight. And as far as the trainer switch for Cotto goes, I think Margarito, now with Robert Garcia, also has a improved trainer than they had the first time around, though the superiority of Steward compared to Garcia is possibly better than Garcia.

Does anyone else think this is a drop-or-plunge fight from Top Rank? HBO also install another hit series 24/7. The premiere of Cotto vs Margarito 24/7 episode is on November 19. Margarito has no forthcoming left in the sport, but a win here could prolong his huge fight authority (what is left of it) a tiny longer. & while Cotto is still a brilliant, he is categorically on the descending slope, both in the ring & as an attraction. At this point, his upside is also limited, & he is definitely peaked both as a fighter & an attraction.

This fight ought to do well with lesser expectations than it had in 2008, when it did well for a pay-per-view not headed by of the tremendous duper money men (at the time, Oscar & Floyd), but I must wonder if Top Rank sees this as a fight where promotionally, they have nothing to lose, & they might as well do it, than having a burning desire to put it on, if that makes sense. During a press conference in New York, streamed live through TopRank.com, Arum explained that Pacquiao has not yet solved the puzzle that is Marquez. Arum noted Pacquiao and Marquez have become better fighters since they last met in 2008 and insisted the fight, the third between the two, stands to become one of the best, if not the best, in the history of boxing. Arum stressed Pacquiao is no longer a one-dimensional fighter by adding a dreadful right to his powerful left, in the same vein that "Juan Manuel has changed his style, by sitting down on his punches now more than he did in the past.

“Juan Manuel presents a puzzle for Manny Pacquiao, that the truth is, he has not solved in 24 rounds,” Arum said.

Mayweather vs Ortiz will face each other on September 17, 2011 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. This is for the title belt of Victor Ortiz. Mayweather has had it relatively easy with wins over a smaller, slower Juan Manuel Marquez in 2009, and then a shot 38-year-old Shane Mosley last year in May. It’s going to be much different against Ortiz, as he’s on his way up to the top of the hill and isn’t on the downward slide the way that Mosley and Marquez were when they took on Mayweather.

Ortiz has got the power advantage in this fight, as well as an advantage in work rate. Ortiz showed in his last fight against Andre Berto that he’s capable of getting in close and throwing a lot of shots. Whether Ortiz can do the same to Mayweather is going to be the test here. Mayweather is hard to get near, because he tends to slide around and pick his opponents apart on the way in.

Roger confirmed that Floyd had been working with four other partners. I asked him if Lil’ Floyd has been putting a beating on them. Asked if the preparation for the dangerous southpaw has seen them do anything special, Roger played such thoughts down. Manny Pacquiao is ranked among the world’s top 50 highest-paid athletes, tied for 24th with Brazilian soccer star Kaka of Real Madrid, with earnings of $25 million the past year, according to Forbes.com. Tiger Woods, who is winless for the last 20 months and has plummeted from No. 1 to No. 13 in the world rankings, remained the highest-paid athlete in the list with earnings of $75 million, well ahead of LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant who made $53 million.

Kurt Badenhausen, who wrote the story for Forbes.com, said the earning figures were derived from salaries, bonuses, prize money, appearance fees, licensing and endorsement income in the 12 months ending May 1. Taxes and agents’ fees were not deducted.

Pacquiao ranked higher than Maria Sharapova (29), Manchester United star Wayne Rooney (30), Kevin Garnett (32), Vince Carter (35), Tim Duncan (37), Chris Paul (38), Ernie Els (43), Dirk Nowitzki (45), and Pau Gasol (49).

Since his November 2009 car crash and the resulting scandal on his married life, Woods has been hit hard by the withdrawal of his sponsors like Accenture, AT&T, Gillette and PepsiCo.

First Philec Solar Solutions, a unit of Lopez-led First Philippine Electric Corp. (First Philec), will be marketing the country’s first solar technology kit for residential and commercial power users starting the first quarter. Dan Lachica, First Philec president, said the solar kit has a capacity of 1 kilowatt for off-grid and on-grid residential consumers and 10 kW to 30 kW for commercial consumers, depending on the scale of the business.

He said the solar kit for residential customers starts at P200,000. It allows savings of up to 15 percent of the power bills of users. He said the solar kit has a life of 20 years. First Philec is an end-to-end provider of photovoltaic (PV) systems that generate electric power from sunlight. Solar energy is commonly used by the commercial or utility industry as an alternate energy source.

Lachica said the company also intends to sell the technology to off-grid customers or those being covered by the Small Power Utilities Group of the National Power Corp. The kit allows solar panels installed on roofs of homes and buildings to convert the sun’s energy into electrical energy. An inverter converts the DC output of solar panels into AC power that can readily energize appliances.

Bosch Philippines in expansion mode

The local unit of Bosch of Germany is looking at electronics manufacturing, supply contracts in the renewable energy (RE) sector, and projects under the public-private partnership (PPP) initiative as part of its continuing expansion in the country. Joseph Hong, managing director of Robert Bosch Inc. Philippines, said he expects business to grow 20 percent this year on the back of robust automotive and construction sectors. Last year, the company posted a 23 percent growth in revenue.

Hong said the global economic recovery and the rebound in the automotive sector in 2010, when sales hit a new high, as well as the robust construction sector pushed sales last year to 16 million euros. He said this year’s growth would come from sustained demand for power tools and automotive parts.

Although nothing definite has been set for electronics manufacturing, Hong said he is pitching the Philippines as a site because it has a competitive edge in this segment. Bosch Philippines sees opportunities in PPPs as well as in renewable energy, a sector where it can become a new player, "It all depends on the set of incentives. We see the initiatives of the government to improve the business environment," Hong said.

In Asia, Bosch has manufacturing operations in China, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea and India, Hong said. Products sold in the Philippines are all imported from Bosch’s operations worldwide. As part of its local expansion, Bosch recently added thermotechnology (heating systems) and automotive original equipment (OE) to its local portfolio.

Two years ago, Bosch set up a business process outsourcing (BPO) unit serving both internal and external clients. The local communication center, which is fluent in all major Asian languages, achieved an above-target performance in its first year of operation.

Hong said Bosch Philippines plans to further strengthen its position in the BPO market by expanding its sales organization, increasing voice service coverage such as IT, travel and tourism for English-speaking markets, and offering more back-office solutions for finance and accounting.

The company also experienced a strong first quarter 2011 with brisk sales generated through its Automotive Aftermarket division, which grew 19 percent, and Power Tools business, which expanded 49 percent. In 2010, Bosch Philippines increased sales of its automotive business by 27 percent, retaining its leadership as the largest automotive aftermarket parts supplier in the country.

During the year, the company aims to further strengthen its market position in the local automotive market, which already ranks among the Philippines’ top five GDP contributors.

People don’t understand that he has really fast hands and feet. They talk about his age (39), but he doesn't fight like his age. He is a very good boxer and athlete. He can move a lot, but I don’t think that is what he will do. I see Shane fighting. I said it before and I believe it now, boxing is about hitting and getting hit. It’s not about running. It’s about giving and taking hits and giving hits is something I do real well and I know that once they hit each other, they will stand and fight.

The Filipino ring icon also stressed he will be on the lookout for Mosley’s right hand. Something people need to look at is the right hand of Mosley. He has been able to knock real good fighters out with his right hand. Pacquiao concerned enough about his speed and power that Pacquiao have to worked on different techniques to try and counter his big right hand."

While his trainer, Freddie Roach, had said Mosley won’t last the distance, Pacquiao took a different tack, saying: "I know I have to be very fast and very strong against him.
