This year has defiantly been the worst year of my life. I have been living without power for over 6 months. I lost my 23 year old son July 12,2021 in a moter bike accident. I would live forever without power if it could bring him back but I know that isn’t possible.

My dream is to have solar power for my home. This is the house that I raised my children & my son Jeffrey that is a Angel in Heaven now.
I try to stay strong but loosing a child is torture & I need distractions in my life.
Distraction like tv & power so that I can help with his children my grandkids.
One will be 1 year old in December & the other not even a month old yet.
I need to survive this depression of loosing my son. I know I will never be ok but I need to keep going for my grandkids.

My granddaughter loves Princess Poppy from the DreamWorks movie Trolls. So I went on a hunt for crochet troll patterns & I found one but it wasn't in my language.

With a lot of determination & some help from Google translate & other bloggers that have Spanish crochet term meanings I managed to figure it out & what I didn't understand I just winged it & it turned out. The dress was the hardest to translate but it turned out pretty good. I just got to do a little embroidery @ the bottom of the dress.

Update: I posted pictures above of my finished results. I liked the look of the troll hair when I seperated the plys of yarn & brushed it out to make it more fuzzy troll like but then desided to make the yarn hair instead because I didn't find the hair strong enough & I didn't want her loosing her hair every time it was pulled at a bit.

Hat fits my head with a nice snug fit. Length just covers the bottom of my ears. Depending on the yarn you use, your tention, your head size or preference you may want to do less rows to shorten how far the hat covers your ears. You may only want to go-to Rnd 14 or 15 then SC the last Rnd.

C2C Corner to corner

A while back I started a corner to corner Afghan using my strawberry shortcake chart I have posted on my blog. Of course it is one of my unfinished projects because you know how it is you put it down because you get side tracked by another project & then months pass, sometimes years & it's still not finished. Well I started another project but I am using this one as a refresher to get me back to my c2c Afghan project.

It is a fun corner to corner (c2c) washcloth pattern. After you do it a couple times you'll have it memorized... I skipped the color changes, I will leave those for my Afghan but if you looking for a beginner pattern that will give you practice before you go for a bigger corner to corner project I would give this one a try. It even has a video tutorial by Mikey for you to follow along.

Upcycle Repurpose your Boombox or House Stereo To play mp3's for under $5

While I crochet I like to listen to audiobooks or podcasts. I wanted to buy Sony ZS-RS60BT Boombox because you can plug your USB stick in it & listen to mp3's. I decided that I would wait on buying it for a little longer because I wanted a new Samsung BD-J5700/ZA blueray player with wifi more but I still wanted to be able to listen to my audio books & podcast so I figured out how I could do this with out spending a lot of money.

To Repurpose your boombox or house stereo all you need is a car cassette audio adapter. They use to sell them for your car cassette stereo's so that you could hook up a CD player. Well they also allow you to play your mp3 players, iPods & cell phones on your boomboxes or house stereo's. I found some @ my local dollar store for $3. I bought 2 of them because I didn't' want to keep switching them out from my boombox to my house sterio & ware out the wires on them. If you can't find one @ you local dollar store you can get one here @ Amazon.

Now I can listen to my audiobooks & podcast while I Crochet! :)

I love second hand stores. You never know what your going to find in there! So I was in Value Village & I looked @ the back of the store & "Baby Smurf" was staring me down. It was like he was right there waiting for me. I walk as fast as I could & put him in my cart. I only paid $3.99 for him...You wanna see a big kid happy...lol

He was something I wanted as a kid but never had...Well I got him now & he inspired me to make Smurfette's mushroom house to share with you all...The pattern for the chimney isn't done yet.
