For fall, I can't stop drooling over the new Boxers! Krakoff does an excellent job mixing colors and textures in such a way that his pieces are still neutral but not at all boring. Available in two sizes, my favorite from his Fall 2011 collection is the large black leather/grey wool combo (pictured above). This roomy bag is perfect for those of us who hate digging through our bags. Not only are there two main compartments, but a center-dividing zipper pocket, tons of side pockets, back pocket and a hidden compartment under the front flap! Perfect for the girl on the go!

karl's dark side... the collection literally rose from the ashes. this season was atypically rooted in a men's wear theme with a tough, mostly monochromatic statement. lagerfeld showed great new takes on tweed jackets, handsome shearlings and pants that came cuffed or bunched at the ankle.

Set at Rue Cambon, lined in mirrored panels simulating Coromandel screens in Coco Chanel's apartment, Karl Lagerfeld created what he calls an "evolution an the opposite." The show opened up with a surprisingly casual take on the house tweed suit philosophy, key to which was denim. Lagerfeld called the look "beyond simple," a point well made by the accessories, which amounted to a black satin flat with a pointed toe that left the foot nearly naked, and a black ribbon choker worn high on the neck and fastened into the model's chignon. They were the perfect chic contrast to the collection's primary color — pink.

And just like that, Lagerfeld snapped out of it. For the second half of the show, Lagerfeld showed his opposite side. He made the point that a big part of Chanel's couture business is banked on day clothes. "Life is not a cocktail party," you know. The evening portion of the show was equally couched in easy pieces — tunics, T-shirts, tank tops and long, sweeping skirts — but here, rendered in exquisite treatments in ethereal, barely there colors. There was seed beading, latticework, frothy skirts done in what looked like a patchwork of streamers and delicate floral appliqués. As Lagerfeld put it after the show, the structure of almost every piece is made “pearl by pearl, thread by thread.”

Born in Hawaii to a Vietnamese mother and a Polish-Irish-American father, Maggie began modeling in Tokyo after high school, quickly catapulting to action movie queen in Hong Kong — and earning her stage name, Maggie Q, along the way. Jackie Chan became a bit of a martial arts mentor, casting the actress in her first Asian films and then helping her cross over to Hollywood in his 2001 action-comedy “Rush Hour 2.” After moving to Los Angeles in 2004, she snagged roles in “Mission: Impossible III” and “Live Free or Die Hard” with Tom Cruise and Bruce Willis, respectively. “Nikita,” an adaptation of the French neo-noir film “La Femme Nikita,” is her first television role.

She says that as a teenager, she gravitated toward up-and-coming designers like Martine Sitbon, Bernhard Willhelm and Sophia Kokosalaki. Now, at age 31, her look flits between hippie chick, grunge girl and deconstructed damsel, naming Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons and Rick Owens as her favorite designers. But then she remembers more: “I absolutely love The Row. Oh, and I don’t know what I’d do without Stella McCartney and her bags and shoes!” Like McCartney, Quigley avoids wearing leather and fur, even on set.
