Omega is one of the world's leading wristwatch manufacturers but its success is a result of over 150 year’s long commitment to innovation. The story of Omega dates back to year 1848 when 23 years old Louis Brandt opened an assembly workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. After his death in 1879 his two sons, Louis-Paul and Cesar launched a watch manufacture due to questionable quality and delivery issues. In 1885, the brothers introduced the Labrador – the first mass-produced Calibre-Ç with a precision of less than 30 seconds per day and became one of largest watch producers in Switzerland by 1889. However, the production rate of over 100,000 watches per year did not affect the exclusivity and in 1892, Louis-Paul and Cesar represented the first minute-repeater wristwatch. “Omega” first debuted with the development of the 19-line Calibre Omega in 1894. The success of the Calibre Omega (mostly due to its simplicity and easily interchangeable parts) resulted in adoption of “Omega” as the name of all the company's watches. Both brothers died in 1903 leaving the company in hands of four young people the oldest of whom – Paul-Emile Brandt was only 23 years old. Despite his youth, Paul-Emile's played a crucial role in the future growth of Omega. In 1909, Omega made its debut in sports during the Gordon-Bennett Cup, an international ballooning race and became the first official Olympic timekeeper during the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1932. The history of Breitling dates back to year 1884 when Leon Breitling at 24 years of age opened a workshop in Saint-Imier in the Swiss Jura mountains. His company specialized in manufacture of chronographs and precision counters for industry and scientific purposes became a major success and in 1892 Leon Breitling moved his company to La Chaux-de-Fonds, the center of the Swiss watchmaking at the time. His son Gaston Breitling who took over the company after his father's death in 1914 has recognized the need for precision watches in aviation and introduced the first wristwatch chronograph in 1915 and the first independent chronograph push-piece in 1923. The company's growth continued under Gaston's son Willy Breitling who became the head of Breitling after his father's death in 1932. Two years later, Breitling developed the second return-to-zero pushpiece enabling to measure multiple successive short times and giving the chronograph its distinctive form. By 1936, Breitling became the official supplier to the Royal Air Force marking the beginning of its future close ties and cooperation with the international aviation. In 1942, the famous Swiss watch manufacturer launched the Chronomat, the first chronograph with a circular slide rule. At the same time Breitling became supplier to the American armed forces. In 1952, Breitling created its most famous men's watch – the Navitimer featuring revolutionary “navigation computer” enabling the pilots to make in-flight calculations. The Navitimer quickly became the favorite among the pilots all over the world. A version of the legendary Breitling watch was offered by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association with the AOPA logo on the dial in the 1950's and 1960's. Designed by Hermes team in collaboration with the French designer Marc Berthier the look of this luxury watch is great. The square titanium steel case mesures 36.5 millimetres side, it´s protected by a ar-coated sapphire crystal both in front and back (with an incredible show case) and it´s water resistant up to 30 meters. The wrist watch houses an automatic Sowind/Girard-Perragaux calibre GP3200 movement capable of a power reserve of 44hours. Some weeks ago the TAG Heuer Monaco Porsche Clube America, and a couple years ago about the TAG HEUER SILVERSTONE which are "about the same" as the wrist watch here shown. TAG Heuer recently released a commemoration of it´s 150th anniversary the Tag Heuer Red Silverstone Chronograph. This special edition is one of a kind... mainly because it´s 1 piece edition and it was auctioned for charity by Bonhams, never the less here are some images. Check out the Jack Heuer signature on the Red dial (at 6 o´clock) and the engraving on the case back: "SILVERSTONE-UNIQUE PIECE 1/1 CALIBRE 11 150th ANNIVERSARY 1860-2010"!! An excellent acquisition for someone watch collection.

The movement which propels this watch is an in house made automatic Edox 83 Caliber which is based on the ETA 2834. The dial is based on an car´s carbon fiber dashboard with red and white numbers and can be found in black or blue. Apart from the time the day and day-of-the-week are also displayed, at 3 o´clock and 9 o´clock respectively. This premium watch is water resistant up to 100meters. Two options are available for the strap, a common stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap one with sports tire pattern. A quite nice collection watch from Edox.

This wrist watch presents a not so common complication: the moon phase indicator. This movement, as the name dictates, shows what phase the moon is current in. The moon phase indicator is so precise that only need to be adjusted every 1030 years, that means that this premium watch just deviates from the actual moon progression by a mere 0.23 seconds a day. Lots of time the word skeleton is used to describe a watch but some people don´t know what´s it, here´s a brief explanation. A skeleton is a technique in which all the watch mechanical parts are visible and striped-down to they own basic functions. The moving parts are usually visible on front/back sides or even on both of them. TAG Heuer Monaco for Porsche Club of America

Great news from TAG Heuer, a men´s dream has been released, a brand new new wrist watch edition the Porsche Clube Of America. Porsche enthusiasts all across america formed an incredible club, the single brand largest club of the world (over 100.000 members!), dedicated to Porsche automobile brand. The club celebrates it´s 55th anniversary so this edition is limited to 55 pieces. Like the name says it´s based on the also incredible TAG Heuer Monaco but there are some eye candy features in this special edition. The black dash has a prominent red stripe and a "55" racing badge at 6 o´clock. The case is 41mm wide, 12mm thick protected by a plexiglas crysta, it´s also water resistant up to 30 meters. The heart of this watch is an automatic movement, the chronograph displays time measurement in 30 minutes and 60 seconds on side (square!) gauges.The leather strap, enchanted with racing holes, is also in black but with red stitches and in the back. This luxury watch is available at a launch price of USD$5500 (if you can get one) with delivery in September. IWC added to it´s collection a brand new luxury watch, the Big Ingenieur Chronograph special editon - to celebrate the World Soccer Cup . It´s a 250 pieces limited edition. The Big Ingenieur Chronograph has a quite oversized 45.5milliliter diameter and 14.5mm thick case.
