The festive season is here! Can’t believe how quickly a year can fly by… so many happy memories and grateful moments that 2011 holds close to my heart. And I am very grateful for it.

I love Christmas. I know it is not about the presents, Christmas tree, beautiful festive decor or the incredible yummy food. Being with the family and able to celebrate what we believe in, thanking God together for His love, goodness and what He has done for us is something special. Finally my blog is up and running again! I apologize for the inconvenience. It’s been driving me crazing not being able to share my thoughts and special events with you.

So finally I can share the fashion shoot we did of my collection. This was part of my last project. We had to compose a portfolio of our years work. Unfortunately all my garments was not done at the time. We where still busy with our show stopper. So the shoot was done before all the styling and alterations was done for the fashion show.

Hope you enjoy it! I must say, making my first collection was the best challenge ever and I enjoyed every minute.

I feel like a little girl on Christmas Eve, knowing she is getting a fairy outfit for Christmas and it is just a few hours before she can open her gifts…

My mom and I are sitting on the airport, ready to board for our trip to Hong Kong. :)  This trip is a massive gift from my dad to celebrate the end of 6 years of studying – BComm. Management Accounting and BA Fashion Design. I don’t know who is more happy, my dad or me.

I LOVE traveling. I am exited to walk in the streets of one of the world’s top fashion capital, taking the ferry to Kowloon, tasting exotic things on the street and obviously VERY exited about the shopping.

We left Cape Town at 12:00 this afternoon and now we are waiting at Joburg. Our flight is delayed with two hours, so I thought why not share a bit before we leave. So far everything has been more than perfect! I feel so spoiled!

Neither my mom or I have been to Hong Kong, but I think my mom knows more about Hong Kong than most Hong Kongese. My mom is the ultimate travel companion; she studied all the streets, the shops and the restaurants. :) Think she is more familiar with Google maps than me ;)

I am so excited to share this post! As many of you know, our fashion show was on Saturday night at the Green Point Stadium. I would just like to thank everyone for the support and lovely messages! You made the night extra special.

The show only started at 20:30. We went for drinks before the show at Wakame in Mouille Point.

During the show all the graduates had to be back stage. Luckily we had a screen, so we could also watch the show. I cannot explain the energy rush that I got watching all my friends going on stage showing their hard work and dedication of the year.

My collection was only 23^rd. So I had quite some time to wait, although the night went by so quick. When my models queued to go on stage, I had a bit of time to prep and make sure everything was right.

I must say I enjoyed it so much! It was so special and so much fun! I love what I’m doing!!

So here are a few pics of the actual show. On Friday I will post the fashion shoot my sister and I did of all my garments. You’ll be able to see more detail of the garments on Friday’s post.

This is a very exciting weekend for me; it is our fashion show at Green Point Stadium. We have been working on our collections since the April and now the time has finally came to show them at a very special event. I must admit, I am a bit nervous! But I am sure everything will go as planed! (Holding thumbs!)

I can’t wait to show you my collection! I will be doing a post about it next week. I will keep you posted!

So the reason for today’s post: Our dress code as designers is all black for Saturday night. I thought I would just quickly pop in at the V&A and grab a top to wear… but no… It is not that easy at all!!! I couldn’t find anything I wanted to wear. I wanted something simplistic but chic…

So in the end Lance gave me a very good idea. I bought a plain black long sleeve vest from SOTO and decided to add something to spice it up! I have the perfect idea! I’m still busy, so I’ll show you on Monday! :)

LIM is one of my favourite shops in town. Address: 86 Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town.

They are really a one stop shop for gifts. They have a variety of beautiful glassware, stationary, furniture, jewelry and more. But not the ordinary. Everything has a designer touch.

It is definitely worth going there if your in the area!

Yesterday I quickly popped in at Woolies to buy a ready made meal :) Lance was at a meeting and I though why cook just for myself. It was the best microwave meal I’ve every had. Butternut and tomato Pansotti.
