<p>No sarcasm here… Don Stark, one of the stars of the popular TV series, “That 70’s Show,” really knows the secret of getting over divorce and family breakup. He played Donna’s father on the globally syndicated show that also launched the careers of Ashton Kutcher and Topher Grace…</p>
<p><strong>Why do we think he deserves a prize?</strong></p>
<p>His ex-wife and her family suffered a disaster recently when their home caught fire. When Don heard the news, he reportedly raced over to the house, only to find a smouldering mess.</p>
<p>He promptly helped the victims pack up what they could, and took them to stay in his own house — ex-wife, her new hubby and their family.</p>
<p>What a fantastic example to set about getting over — and more importantly BEYOND — the hard feelings of divorce and breakup.</p>
<p>They all probably will have some uncomfortable moments, but that he was willing to open his own home to the ex and her new family is nothing short of a spectacular real-life demonstration that the painful feelings of loss and the distress of divorce can be reframed into a positive outcome.</p>

<p>Here we are again entering the holidays — a time that can be either magical or horrible for children in broken families.</p>
<p>The very best gift you could give your kids and yourself is the gift of peace and forgiveness. Stop the feuding.</p>
<p><strong>Drop the drama.</strong></p>
<p>Turn the anger and pain into personal growth and a decision to put happiness in the forefront of your life.</p>
<p>Imagine how happy your children would be to see their Moms and Dads smiling at each other. What type of signal do you think that would send to your children?</p>
<p>It tells them that relationships can be rebuilt, and people who loved each other at some time in the past can still be friends.</p>
<p>This isn’t really a difficult objective. All you have to do is agree on a “truce” for the holidays, then allow yourself to remember the happy moments of your past relationship. They really did happen!</p>
<p>Use humour — laughing and joking can work wonders in shifting the angry energy of separation and divorce to a feeling of happiness.</p>
<p>And if you have to, just pretend! By acting happy, you’ll actually create a pleasant environment, and some of it might just rub off on yourself!</p>
<p>Above all, take responsibility for showing your children what it means to forgive and move on.</p>

<p>This Tiger Woods Scandal is taking on a life of its own — something like a tiger chasing his own tail — an endless loop of revelations that fuel the right-wing religious blogs. How soon they forget about their own poster child, Jim Baker.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, Tiger’s sordid sex life is bound to be making headlines for some time to come… The latest reports now show the championship golfer has had to engage the services of a “crisis management team” on more than one occasion to arrange the silence of other women through financial settlements.</p>
<p>It’s intriguing how this story resembles that of Michael Jackson, and we can only hope that Tiger Woods recovers better than Jackson did.</p>
<p>The general discomfort and fear of dealing with sexual matters openly is embedded in American society, and it’s heavily doused with right-wing religious syrup.</p>
<p>Perhaps with more open attitudes that negate the need for lying and cheating, we could see the situation exactly as it is: Tiger Woods is a championship golfer and a heterosexual male who likes to have sex with different partners.</p>
<p>What’s the big deal? He’s hardly the only one…</p>

<p>That’s right. We’ve been engaged in “virtual rubber-necking” since Thanksgiving, gobbling up all the tidbits of Tiger Woods’ I-gate — that’s short for “Infidelitygate”… We’ve heard as many sordid details as the media has been able to dig up, and finally — FINALLY — someone has asked about the kids.</p>
<p>Tiger and his wife, Elin, have two toddlers — Sam, age two years, and Charlie, age 10-months.</p>
<p>The latest chapter in this spat of lying lovers and cheating spouses is that State of Florida child protection officers visited the Woods’ home. They say it was a “routine visit” prompted by allegations of domestic violence.</p>
<p>Seems just a tad bit late, considering this incident of suspected domestic violence is said to have occurred on Thanksgiving — weeks ago!</p>
<p>Getting back to the point of this post — it’s amazing that the welfare of these children was not THE FIRST PRIORITY. Children in those formative years need safe nurturing homes, and shame on Elin and Tiger for not keeping this in mind.</p>
<p>Perhaps wedding vows should be changed from “in sickness and in health” to “in times of blatant stupidity and in those fleeting periods of success that can be destroyed by the aforesaid stupidity.”</p>

Other recent celebrity deaths also triggered a widespread sense of personal loss — Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, Heath Ledger…</p>

<div>My friend has been dating this guy and I feel she knows nothing about him. Our friendship is suffering because of him. She met him on a chat line she does so much for him gives him money talks about him 24/7 he consumes her life and he lives hundreds of miles away from her.</p>
<p>This situation worries me so much because my friend is very young naive and inexperienced when it comes to stuff of this nature. I don’t want her to lose herself with him. She has a sincere pure soul and a genuine heart of Gold and I don’t want her to get it broken by some con artist jerk sorry excuse for a man. He’s older than she is 7to8 years if Im not mistaken, he basically has nothing to show for his life. Still living with his parents in his late 20s with no accomplishments.</p>
<p><strong>The lying creep is taking advantage of her</strong></p>
<p>My friend is such a sweet virtuous girl I know hes taken advantage of her kindness. She has tried countless times to help this guy who seem to always be depressed caught in a cycle of alcohol cigarettes and hemp. Its just not right, I tell you this guy is poison!!!</p>
<p>They have been talking over the phone for some time now and when she first told me of him it seemed he was wonderful a dream come true for her. They seemed to have a great connection and so much in common I was so happy for her. Until they decided to share pictures of each other she has a myspace page facebook, etc. He on the other hand has nada. He decided to send her pictures of him through the mail, the pictures were of him between the ages of 7 to18. This guy as I said before is in his late 20s near 30. She has no recent pictures of him at all but he does of her.</p>
<p>My suspicions begin here since its been a while since shes met him I thought it would be nice if she and I would go and see him make a trip to where he lives. Since it was completely out of the question for him to come see her he being broke no job car money. Since all her previous attempts at pleasing him failed she felt maybe the trip would give them the breakthrough they needed, Maybe by being there comforting him physically she could make it better.</p>
<p><strong>Alarm bells: The guy doesn’t even want to see her right now!</strong></p>
<p>He does not even want to see her right now he says. He doesn’t have himself together he wants his own place he wants to feel successful within himself. He would feel very awkward if she saw him in this condition. She feels she loves him unconditionally it does not matter his current state his flaws are invisible to her eyes. She doesn’t care about what he does not have her only concern is his heart and soul which is infested with melancholy and depression.</p>
<p>She continues to talk to him, puts up with his cancerian mood swings, his lack of responsibilty and accountability for his life continues to try to help him encourage him make him happy and he continues to be depressed despite her efforts yet tells her that he loves her and she believes because shes deeply in love with him. She says he will be my husband I’m sure of it.</p>
<p><strong>My friend needs to get her head out of her… uh… clouds</strong></p>
<p>I am so tired of this situation my friend has lost her mind anyone on the outside can see this guy is bad news and shes too good for him. That she needs to run expediently out of his life. She still wants to love and involve herself with this felon that has nothing, no drive, no anything.</p>
<p>I could respect him if he was a half decent man but Im tired and he is NOT!! Ive tried to see the beautiful sensitive honest loving man that she sees but hes NOT!! He blames everything on everyone else everyone else is the reason why his life is the way that it is. He cant find a job because of his record he cant do things because he has no car, He feels a certain ways because he had a bad childhood he hates his life because he lives in a house with people that hate him and does not want him to succeed. excuses, excuses, excuses.</p>
<p>He is not a man, my friend likes older mature guys this guy does not fit the descripition. If he did he would be a sucess at 28 or working hard to become it. I dont know how she belives he will be a good husband.</p>
<p>He’s using her rather its the money she gives her time to hear him whine and cry just the Ego boost he gets from her. She needs to stop and he needs to fight for her. I feel if I am with a man thats older than me I know Im going to love him whole heartedly but he should treat me like a princess I should not want for anything I wouldnt stress him so he shouldn’t stress me.</p>
<p><strong>I’m so worried about my friend — she is becoming a different person…</strong></p>
<p>I’m just so afraid she’s going to become a different person. she is so beautiful physically she has just lived a southern baptist christian sheltered life like myself. Extremely talented and intelligent shes in her second year of college shes responsible hard working bottomline shes just a well rounded girl her list can go on for days. She will make any man a perfect girlfriend or wife and she would love them with all her heart&soul. This means so much to me she has to be careful of who she loves and this guy isnt Mr. Right and if she continues dealing with this pessimistic kill joy she will become bitter just like her cancerian lover boy!!!</p>
<p>Can anyone offer some advice on how I should handle this situation?</p></div>
