How To Refresh Curly Hair Without Water

Looking for a place to sleep in the city that never sleeps? Figuring out where to stay in New York can seem impossible. There's an endless amount of hotels in all the different boroughs. The vast majority of NYC visitors stay in Manhattan, but let me also add that parts of Brooklyn and Queens are also trendy and, in some cases, more affordable. Whether you're traveling for business or to relax, check out a few of my favorite trendy hotels in New York below.

Paper Factory Hotel | 37-06 36th Street, Long Island City, Queens, NY 11101
I am originally from Astoria, Queens so this is normally my go-to place to stay when I visit family. You will fall in love right when you walk into the lobby area with the exposed brick walls and crystal chandeliers. There is a meeting room where you can simply kick back and play some games. I recommend staying in the Manhattan Loft suite for a one of a kind experience featuring a private kitchenette, an electric fireplace, and a tv lift cabinet. And if you are into fashion art, there are pieces by Oliver Gal throughout the hotel.

The Williamsburg Hotel | 396 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, 11249
Let me be completely honest, the main reason I stayed at this hotel was because of that gorgeous bathroom featuring teal marble and gold details. It did not disappoint at all. I stayed in one of the rooms with a private balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. It was too cold to check out their rooftop pool but I was able to experience their Water Tower with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline.

Boro Hotel | 38-28 27th Street, Long Island City, Queens, NY 11101
If you haven't caught on by now but most if not all the hotels I stay at are aesthetically pleasing to the eye (and instagram feed). The rooms are flooded with natural light through floor to ceiling windows and offering breathtaking views of the iconic New York City skyline. As far as their decor it is a very minimalist, clean and crisp design. The lobby cafe serves some delicious avocado toast while the rooftop bar features stunning views of Manhattan.

The William Vale | 111 North 12th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11249
Whether or not I stay in this hotel, if I am near the Williamsburg, Brooklyn area I always tend to visit the William Vale for it's amazing rooftop. The rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, open-air balconies, and stunning views of New York City. The goal is to one day stay in their Vale Garden penthouse. The hotel is in a great location and walking distance to a bowling alley, coffee shop, a reggae spot and more. But like I mentioned before the building itself has a lot to offer such as the rooftop pool and Westlight which is my favorite NYC rooftop happy hour!

Nomo Soho | 9 Crosby Street New York, New York 10013
This hotel has been on my list to stay at for a while now and I was finally able to experience it. I absolutely love their classic blue and white design. They have a variety of rooms to stay at: deluxe, suite, studio, or penthouse. The Nomo Soho hotel is in a great location, right on Canal Street and has a close walk to train. The NoMo Kitchen is pretty popular for it's creative cocktails and has a gorgeous archway entry to capture some #ootd photos.

TRY MALIBU'S BEST WINES AT A SAFARI TOUR

To be honest the purpose of my trip (besides celebrating my birthday) was to visit Stanley the Giraffe at Malibu Wine Safaris. I have been following this vineyard in Malibu on Instagram for quite some time now and it has been on my bucket list since then. We took a ride on their open-air safari vehicles to explore Saddlerock Ranch while making stops along the way to taste local wines and snap some photos of the beautiful scenery. They offer different types of tours but it all depends on what kind of animals you wish to interact with, what food you prefer to eat and how much wine you want to drink. I highly suggest you purchase your tickets way in advance, especially if you are going with a group of people.

AMAZING VIEWS AND GOOD FOOD AT MALIBU PIER

If you're looking for a great healthy lunch with an amazing view then this is the place. Malibu Farm Cafe sits right at the end of Malibu pier overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Although I'm not a local, this just has to be the best location in Malibu. I mean what could be better than eating delicious food on a pier overlooking the ocean with a possible surprise appearance by the cutest sea lion. We ordered crab cakes, cauliflower pizza, the salmon burger and sangria to drink. Just a heads up there is a restaurant and a cafe, with two different menus. The cafe is self seating and the line is usually shorter.

FOOD AND DRINKS AT ONE OF THE MOST INSTAGRAMMED RESTAURANTS IN THE WORLD

This Japanese restaurant and sushi bar actually started as a request from Robert De Niro to Chef Nobu. Upon walking in Nobu Malibu I was speechless. The location is just absolutely breathtaking! It's right off the coast in Malibu where you can enjoy front row seats to the ocean waves and a sunset dinner. I recommend trying to get a table outside preferably during daylight; trust me, it's worth the wait and the money. Oh and getting a reservation is highly suggested.

A Full Day Itinerary Trip to Santa Monica, California

If you are looking for a laid-back beach town atmosphere with big city sophistication, then head on over to Santa Monica, California. For those that are planning a trip to the Los Angeles area then I truly believe Santa Monica is worth a visit. It's known for its beaches, parks, restaurants, views and hey it has one of America's most awesome boardwalks. I went for a weekend trip to California and got to do and see so much. To make things easier for you I have put together a full day itinerary for you and your guests to explore Santa Monica.

BREAKFAST AT LUNETTA ALL DAY

Everything at this restaurant is absolutely amazing, down to the decor. If you are looking for an Instagram moment, this is it! I recommend sitting outside as long as you are under an umbrella for the shade. As for food, we had the Avocado Toast, Wood Fired Eggs, Marscapone French Toast and the L.A.D. Burger. Which was a lot of food for just two people but we wanted to make sure we tried it all being it was our first time in California. Oh and they serve all kinds of milk for your coffee including almond, soy, coconut and more!

DAY ACTIVITIES

Santa Monica State Beach is a huge beach that is usually packed with people (both tourists and locals) either walking, riding bike, skating, playing volleyball, going for a swim or catching a tan. The main attraction is the world-famous Santa Monica Pier that is home to Pacific Park; a picture perfect fair with a roller coaster and ferris wheel, plus plenty of fairground games where bae can score you a stuff animal. We were able to rent some bikes and ride down the beach path to our next location. But if you are looking for a heavier workout then you can check out The Original Muscle Beach. Which is a workout playground for adults. Please keep in mind this is not your typical workout, I am talking about full on muscle gymnasts that swing through the bars and rings.

LUNCH AT BACK ON THE BEACH CAFE

This place is exactly what I was looking for. It's a cute restaurant right off the boardwalk overlooking Santa Monica beach. Once again I recommend you sit outside because the view is nothing short of amazing with a very relaxing vibe. Just be on the lookout for the hungry birds. To get here you can drive, bike, jog, walk, rollerblade, skateboard or I guess the usual, drive. To be honest you really just go here for the ambiance because the food is decent but nothing out of the world. We both has the Grass Fed Burger with mimosas on the side.
Back On the Beach Cafe | 445 Palisades Beach Rd Santa Monica, CA 90402

RELAX BY FIREPLACE AT THE LOEWS HOTEL

The main reason we decided to stay at the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica was not only because of it's location (right across from the pier) but because their rooms feature ocean views, a private terrace and a private fire pit. My idea of date night was to sip some wine on the patio overlooking Santa Monica beach while cozying it up by the fire place. If you aren't staying at the hotel, no worries they have plenty of fire pits on their terrace. A local recommended this restaurant for a special occasion type of place and it did not disappoint. The food is just melt in your mouth amazing. We had a variety of oysters to start. For the main course we had a filet, bone-in ribeye, brussel sprouts w/ bacon, smashed broccoli and grilled cippolini onions. As for the decor it was very modern and classy with red ceiling lights. You might want to make a reservation to secure your table if you plan on going during the weekend.

The Dessert Menu
In addition to the undeniable cuteness factor of these cupcakes, they are delicious and make for perfect dessert options for a tea party. The guests were anxious to try the desserts but it was important for me to take the display photos before digging in. Some ladies came in big floppy hats others in wide-brimmed sun hats. The table scape isn't complete without gorgeous floral center pieces. Personally, when it comes to tea parties, the first thing I think about is flowers.
