I want to blog about my life, but at the moment my life isn’t too interesting. Plus I’m just too busy to take pictures of little bits of my day. I don’t want to be a blogger who blogs meals daily or all the other mundane things that happen during the day.

So instead I’m going to focus on my passion – baking. As time goes on if I do something really interesting, I’ll blog about it, even if it’s not food related. I just don’t want to feel like I have to blog about my day just to get a blog post up.

In an attempt to be productive, I decided to fold some laundry. You know, since it’s been sitting there for days. Oops.

Don’t laugh at my fish sheets. They keep me warm in the winter!

Yesterday after posting my Summer 2011 To Do List, I realized that some of my more farfetched to do items, might actually be within reach (2nd concert & roadtrip).

My sister and I have been wanting to see Gloriana in concert again, so I checked their site to see if any new dates were added. A date was added for upstate NY in September. It’s a 3 hour drive, but that’s probably the closest they’ll ever be to us. So it’s a roadtrip and a concert rolled into 1! Plus, it’s at a county fair, so it’s bound to be a lot of fun! I’m crossing my fingers, hoping that we can make it.

Did anyone else hear about this 51 year old actor who married a 16 year old country singer? Does anyone else find this extremely weird? I know age is just a number, but a 35 year age difference when someone is only 16 seems a bit extreme to me. Is it even legal? I guess since they’re married, I’d assume it is, but still…

Well this year, I’ve created a to do list for summer 2011. It’s nothing major, just some things I hope to accomplish this summer.

My Summer 2011 To Do List

1. Attend a concert
2. Daytrip to the shore (preferably Wildwood or Avalon/Stone Harbor)
3. Grill a pizza
4. Complete 3 mile loop around park
5. Go to the movies
6. Visit Washington Rock
7. Go to an amusement park
8. Apply to school or get a job
9. Watch fireworks
10. Go to the Balloon Festival

Seems like a pretty easy list. Most of these things I’m sure I can accomplish. I didn’t want to put anything on the list that was too farfetched. Although maybe that’d be a good idea.

So here are some things I’d love to do, but are less likely to happen.

11. Visit NYC.

12. Visit the zoo (preferably the Bronx Zoo)

13. Go to a baseball game (preferably the Yankees)

14. Go to a 2nd concert

15. Take a road trip somewhere.

There you have it – 15 goals I would love to accomplish this summer.

Daily Question: What is one thing you’d love to do this summer?

My sister walked in the door at 1:30ish and the moth must’ve came in with her. We quickly shut the bedroom doors and I managed to get this picture before he decided to fly into the kitchen.

We spent at least 10 minutes trying to find it, but we had no luck. This morning my sister went to take a shower and it was in the bathtub! Luckily this little guy was caught and set free. So much easier than squishing it.

From bugs, to food. What a lovely transition.

I’ve been obsessed with these Kashi TLC crackers. I’ve even gotten my sister addicted.

Here’s another lovely transition for you… food to feet. Better than the other way around….

My feet are always dry and cracking. When I read reviews online for O’Keeffe’s Healthy Feet, I knew I had to try it.

So far so good. After 2 applications, there’s a decent improvement. And what’s even better is that it’s not really greasy. I’ve even been putting it on my legs since I’m the dry skin queen.

This was the most random post ever. Boring days = nothing interesting to talk about = randomness.

I woke up early this morning to thunder and pouring rain.

Then at 4pm I headed out to the bank and CVS and it started pouring again!

And then in true crazy weather form, it stopped and the sun came back out.

Now I have to go to Walgreens. It would be my luck that it would start pouring again.

I froze some blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, and peaches. At lunchtime, my fruit was frozen enough, so it was smoothie time!

I combined the berries, peaches, ice, and orange-pineapple juice in a blender and 2 minutes later I had a delicious smoothie!

In addition to my smoothie, I also had a salad — cucumbers, hard boiled eggs, cheddar cheese, and egg noodles with ranch dressing. I absolutely love experimenting with salad ingredients. I was also tempted to add some rice to my salad, but I decided to wait until tomorrow.

Later in the afternoon my mom, sister, and I drove to the hospital to pick up my dad. I love the drive up there. It’s up in the mountains, so it’s pretty!

I wish I got a picture of my dream house. It’s on a cliff overlooking the cities below. I believe you can even see the NYC skyline in the distance too!

Since I haven’t been able to update as often as I like, I figured I do a quick update on what I’ve been up to.

I need to create a schedule and stick with it, but unfortunately things have been really hectic around here.

I woke up to a text from my father regarding his release from the hospital. I thought it’d be a good day, but we’ll get to that later.

Breakfast was boring. My morning was boring. I honestly cannot remember what I did.

Lunch was boring as well. Peanut butter on a potato roll. But the strawberries were fantastic!

From 2-6 my mom, sister, and I spent time getting the house in order for my dad’s arrival.

At one point I went outside to check on our carpenter bee (or what I suspected to be a carpenter bee) problem. The other night we sprayed bee killer inside a whole on our deck, where we knew something was living. Well turns out it was a carpenter bee! And we successfully killed it!

See the dead bee in there? Mwhahaha

At 6ish the guy from the medical supply company came and dropped of my dad’s supplies.

A whole lot of supplies!

The next 2 hours were chaos. We were supposed to pick up my dad, but we were waiting on nurses to come to the house first. But then we find out that my dad should be home before they come.

So after many calls back and forth to an awesome nurse we finally got things straightened out.

We pick my dad up tomorrow. The nurses will be coming tomorrow after he’s home.

No doubt tomorrow will be equally as stressful as today. If not more. We have to figure out a permanent place for my dad to be at. Looks like I might have to pack up my room and move upstairs, which means a bunch of switching needs to get done.

Guess I know what I’ll be doing all weekend.

I ended the night with some ice cream again! I just couldn’t resist.

Daily Question: How do you remedy boring meals, without buying a million different options?

I try to have some variety on hand, but with my small budget, I’m often eating the same thing over and over again. It’s a problem.
