I am back from a crazy couple of weeks around here. So most of you know I have been on maternity leave from work and was scheduled to go back after CHA. Well, I went to CHA and had a blast ordering some new and exciting things for Lytle Scrapper and found out the next day that I have been laid off. WAIT! They can't do that! Can they? Oh yes they did... my position is being centralized out of TX.

So after a lot of thinking and discussion with Tuan, we've decided that I am going to "live the life {I've} imagined" as Tim Holtz would say, and pursue Lytle Scrapper full time and try to work with some manufacturers out there. I know this will be long road but it's worth a shot {I can always go back to pharmacy later}. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful, understanding, patient, and supportive husband who believes in me and is encouraging me to pursue this dream. I am very excited but I am also very nervous.

I've always loved this quote from the movie, Akeelah and the Bee..."Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear us that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?"

So what does this mean? In addition to the Lytle Scrapper Style classes you've come to love, I will be working on more technique driven classes, more technique videos and tutorials, more projects added to the project gallery, and possibly more retreats. So if you are a Lytle Scrapper fan and you like what you see, help me spread the word! "Today is where {my} book begins, the rest is still unwritten." -Natasha Bedingfield.

Freaked me out a lytle... ok a lot... at one point I was sitting with Kyla huddled in my arms in our staircase (the inner most part of my house away from windows) on the phone with Tuan! LOL! I've been cooped up inside all week and now I am really looking forward to this weekend. I am heading off to the Anaheim Convention Center to attend the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Shows. CHA will be hosting two shows this weekend.

The first show is the CHA Craft Super Show which will be held Fri 1/22 and Sat 1/23. This is a CONSUMER show and is open to the public. You can pick up a $5 off coupon at The Scrapbook Garden. While you're at the show be sure to stop by and visit Melissa at the So Cal Retail Scrapbook Association booth for a FREE make and take. Also, my dear friend Kevin Nakagawa will be hosting a Stampscapes demonstration at the Stamping Details booth.

Then of course there's the actual CHA Trade Show which is for retailers only. This is where the industry debuts all of the upcoming new releases. So have you seen all the sneak peeks that are floating around out there? If you're a Tim Holtz or Heidi Swapp fan, you definitely want to stop by their blogs to see the all the AMAZING things they've been up to. And for the MECCA of CHA sneak peeks, you must check out The Scrap Review. I think they have someone who is solely searching for sneak peeks everyday to post on their site. You can even sort the sneak peeks by manufacturer. Definitely check it out.

I'll be back throughout the weekend to show you an insider's look at the show. Also, check back on Saturday for information on the Lytle Scrapper Weekend Retreat 2010.

I got Friday "night off" to go to a crop and had a great time creating. I have been bitten by the inspiration bug and am itching to get back into my scraproom and create some more! Yesterday, we took Kyla out for some fresh air and went for a stroll in Newport Beach. We tried to stop at Sprinkles for some cupcakes but the line was outrageous... I stood line for about 15 minutes and moved maybe 4 steps... in the end, I got out of line we went to the store to buy cupcake mix instead... LOL. Today, sadly, we woke up to our neighbor knocking on our door to inform us that our car had been broken into. They broke a window and at first nothing appeared to be missing. Later this afternoon, Tuan was reaching for his camera to take a picture of Kyla and realized that he forgot it in the car. Our poor Canon SLR 40D and lens gone! MAJOR SUCKAGE! So tomorrow, we have to get our window replaced and lytle Kyla has to get her 2-month shots...yay.

On to a happier note... The winners of our lytle giveaway are...

Thank you for your inquiries.

How many of you were hoping that Santa would bring you a digital die-cutting machine for Christmas? Have you been a really good girl and all you got was a Crockpot? (I did... any neat slow cooker recipes out there?) Well, treat yourself to a Silhouette SD Digital Cutting Tool by QuicKutz. The Silhouette connects to your computer to cut digital designs and any true type fonts. The Silhouette comes with 50 digital designs and you can download more online... no cartridges needed. You can also use the Silhouette to weld words together and create shadows. It can cut a variety of papers including cardstock, vellum, and vinyl. It even etches glass. (Wow, I sound like an infomercial.) The neat thing about the Silhouette SD model is that it's portable... you can download digital designs to an SD card, take your Silhouette to a crop, and cut directly from the SD card using the LCD screen... no computer needed. So I've got ONE MEGA Silhouette SD Bundle for sale...

This brand new Silhouette SD has never been opened and comes sealed in it's original box. I'm doing good... getting used to this motherhood thing. Kyla will be 2 months old next week and she's becoming quite the chubster. She's got these cute lytle chicken thighs that I just want to bite every time I change a diaper. She's started responding to play time with Mommy and Daddy too. Can't wait to scrapbook these moments...

Speaking of which, I've started to scrapbook again... YAY! I've been itching to get back into my scraproom to play especially since I've started seeing all the new sneak peeks for CHA. I can't wait to get my lytle hands on some new 7 Gypsies hardware and those Printer's Trays... and then there's all of Tim Holtz's new releases from Stamper's Anonymous and Ranger and did you hear about his new Sizzix stuff... YUM! So what have you seen recently that just absolutely inspires you to scrapbook? Or is there something new that you've gotten a chance to preview that you just can't wait to get your hands on? Leave a comment on the blog (not via email) and you could win a prize. The winner will be chosen on Kyla's 2-month birthday, January 17th... oh let's do 2 winners!

So many of you have asked if I will still be hosting a Lytle Scrapper Retreat this year (with having a baby and all) and the answer is YOU BET I AM! It won't be in time for our anniversary like it was last year but it will be in the summer sometime. I'm still finalizing the details and the location and will have some info posted in the next week or so... plenty of time to make payments =D. So stay tuned for that.

I also want to take a moment to THANK ALL OF YOU for your all your support in 2009. Wishing you all a happy and prosperous 2010 filled with many memories to scrapbook and the time to actually scrap them! Hope to see you in class soon!

That's right everyone! I've stepped into the 21st century and I now have Paypal. Whoo-hoo! That means for all those Lytle Scrapper fans out there who do not live in Southern California or are unable to make it to my classes, Lytle Scrapper kits are now available through Paypal. Right now, I have my Halloween TLC and my Holiday Cards & More kits available. Each kit comes with complete step by step color instructions, with everything pre-cut and pre-stamped for you. If you are interested in any of these kits, email me at ly@lytlescrapper.com and I will forward you my Paypal info. Also, I will be adding a "Kits Available" icon to the sidebar, so check back often as we post more kits over the next month or so... gotta make some room for the lytle one!
