Tame Impala are a three piece psychedelic rock band from Perth, Western Australia. The band consists of Kevin Parker (lead guitar and vocals), Dominic Simper (bass guitar) and Jay Watson (drums and backing vocals). Their name refers to the impala, a medium sized antelope. Their musical sound draws from a wide range of influences (most notably Cream and Germany's Colour Haze) and they like to see themselves as "a steady flowing psychedelic groove rock band that emphasizes dream-like melody." The band signed a worldwide deal with boutique label Modular Recordings in mid 2008. Since I stumbled my ears upon this amazing blend of indie and psychedelic rock i've grown extremely fond and in love with their tunes and unicorn like solos. Below I've attatched a photo, video, and download link of this beautiful band.

With an interesting blend of electronic and rock, Yeasayer are an experimental band from Brooklyn who claim inspiration from diverse sources like Bollywood soundtracks from the 70s, Mapfumo records, and Celtic music. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, but it’s really not. Ambling Alp has strong lyrics and strong vocals with just the right amount of quirkiness to distinguish Yeasayer from bands like MGMT, who they have in fact toured with.

Ambling Alp is slated to be the first single of their second album Odd Blood, released in 2010, and the band is offering a free download on their website.

So this is my first blog and I just thought I'd open up with an old poem/narrative of mine. I don't really know what it is. It's just a piece of words. You'll be the judge.

troubled soul.
when the only way out is the way you came in,
when the only person existing is the one who brought you in,
when all you want to do is dig up a hole and crawl in,
when everything you thought once lived now is inert,
when life turns it's pages and sometimes you get hurt,
somehow you feel your heart's static your becoming less alert
to all you thought was there, to everyone who is not aware,
to look into his eyes and feel that hollowed stare; despair,
it wasn't worth the squeeze, how could you ever please?
what do you lack? what do you need?
does it feed the purpose that defeats the stronger man's greed?
life is coming onto you at full speed.
slow down, relax you might decieve those whom you gave your all to you might recieve a greater recompense, it makes no sense for someone you've respected to leave you standing there alone and rejected; disconnected.
simmer down it's ok you gave it a go, only one person can forgive them because they don't know, what it feels like for life to stab at you with it's most prominent blow.
simmer down it's ok just go with the flow, because all thats left is all you've experienced and all in which thats helped you grow, become more aware of probelms that surround you, warp them, mix them into a pot of beef stew, digest it, invest it,
because all that will be left is all you've experienced and all the troubled souls that never knew. . .
