The Student Peer Evaluation web app was done as part of a curricular assignment for the course Software Engineering Concepts at University at Buffalo as a semester long project. I am writing a detailed description of how the project was done below.


Key Features of the Web App




Email ID entered is validated to see if it is a student ID.
Encrypted and hashed OTP sent to student's email for verification.
Each unique OTP received via email expires in 15 mins of receiving.
Session cookies maintained to carry data through different pages of app.
Each student can select from the list of courses he/she is enrolled.
Personalized scoring screen based on selected courses
Scoring revealed to only concerned parties to ensure privacy.
Student data stored in different DBs for enhanced security.
Business logic built on solid Object Oriented PHP code.
Dynamic loading of pages based on database entries.
Students are given options to see/edit previous responses

Iteration Planning Phase

tools used : Gihub, ZenHub(for project planning and management)

Since we followed a test driven agile development method for development of this project. The instructor acted as the client at the beginning of each iteration. He would simply say in words what he needs without much details. Our team as project planners, will sit with him and inquire about the functionality he is specifying needs to do.

Once we are clear with the requirements, we then created user stories in a standard format that is understandable by the client who has zero to little knowledge in software design or development.

A user story is a tool used in Agile software development to 
capture a description of a software feature from an end-user
perspective. A user story describes the type of user, what 
they want and why. A user story helps to create a simplified
description of a requirement.

As soon as the user stories were created, we created the guidelines for user acceptance tests that the client validates and approves. Usually in a real life company setting, the client defines the UAT but since the client is the instructor, we had to create UATs too.

After the requirements phase was done, deadlines were set. The user story functionalities were divided into tasks and assigned to one or more of the team members.

User Acceptance Test(UAT)
User Acceptance is defined as a type of testing performed by
the Client to certify the system with respect to the 
requirements that was agreed upon. Essentially it has to be 
easily understood by a non-technical client.

Agile Project Development

tools used: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SMTP, SQL

The final project with all the features was developed in four brief iterations each spaced over a period of 6 weeks during Summer 2019.

Each team member is assigned a few functionalities for development. We created Task Tests for each task which describes criteria to meet to know if the task is completed successfully.

All the tasks are linked to the User Story they belonged to in the first place.

Code Maintenance/Git versioning

Each new functionality added to the web app is committed to a remote local branch created from the develop branch. After the feature is completed, it is tested by the developer to pass the task test. After the code passes Unit Testing, it is committed to remote local branch.

Once the feature is confirmed to work as expected, the code is merged with the developed branch.

In the develop branch all the developers in the team perform Integration Testing on the feature to test if the new feature added does not affect the previous functionality.

After all the features pass the Integration Testing, the code is finally merged with the master branch and delivered to the client for approval.

Tips for a better battery life

4000 mAh , 6000 mAh be it whatever , if you don't maintain your battery , it won't last for a day.
Android phones are up on the rise and recently phones with humongous battery capacity have caught the crowd's attention.

Few very useful tips

Charging habits : Keep this a routine.

Switch off phone --> Charge till 100%--> Pull plug as soon as fully charged --> Use till battery level goes under 10 % --> repeat the cycle

It is very hard to follow this routine , but I strictly adhered to this practice and my old phone had its battery intact in perfect condition for 4 whole years.

Match the ratings :

Phone chargers come in various ratings based on the ability of the batteries to accept the charge .The ratings are usually specified in Amps .The charger is basically a rectifier ( Converts AC to DC ) and voltage stabilizer coming in a small pack .

The charger ratings may be like 550 mA , 250 mA ,1000 mA . The more the rating the faster the charging process is , but not all phones can accept a higher rating charger than it is entitled to.

You may have a lot of phone that can fit into the same charger pin because the charging port sizes are almost standardized with all the companies except Apple. Plugging into any charger pin is not the same the as the one you are given from the company. To be on the safer side use only the charger given by your phone seller or if you are patient enough to check for the ratings , make sure that your battery's rating and the charger's rating match up perfectly.

If you happened to use the wrong rating charger regularly then your battery may buff up or leak, making it unusable.

Avoid using phone while charging:

The batteries are normally designed to either charge or discharge.If you use your phone while it is charging it will affect the phone's charging rate and cause adverse effects on the phones battery life.

Switch off things:

For a smooth charging it is recommended to switch off auto-brightness , wifi , bluetooth and anything that is not used at the moment. Putting the phone on flight mode might as well help.

Never use battery optimizer apps:

These apps never do what the promise to . They worsen the charging process . It is recommended that you uninstall any app that promises to boost battery charging etc:-

Most of us would have come to know that such things called 'Projection Keyboards' exists only after the video that featured the rumored iPhone 5 was put in Youtube . It happens .........!Sometimes great techs. like this don't get their recognition like the Android OS ,at its first ......

Optical keyboards are just like the same old favs. but it's way of reception of input is different .Let me get it clear . There is no difference except for the way you give the input to the device ....

HOW THEY WORK

I'm not gonna confuse you with the complex ' Text Book " Definitions ... I'll Compare the Normal one and the new one ..

The normal keyboard which you use has a few keys each one codes for a letter : Say 'A' , 'B' Etc :- . When you get to press one of those keys the circuit under it gets the signals . Then the signal gets processed and goes into the computer then onto the screen
The Scenario in Projection keyboards :- Here you don't have physical keys instead they can be called virtual ....... the device projects light ( Infra Red light ) as the name says the keys are displayed in red colour .. The device has a light transmitter and a receiver ( More commonly called a camera ) to intercept the input ... When any key pressed there is a distraction and of course a reflection of the light emitted from the transmitter which the camera receives detects the angle at where there is a disturbance in the reception .. The circuit process the input and send them to the CPU

ADVANTAGES OVER THE NORMAL ...

Things not to do with your Google Adsense

Making money online seems to be a simpler job than most other jobs ! And most probably Google adsense is the best way to make money online .
Though there are a few alternatives to Google adsense No one else can even near what Google pays us for those golden clicks.

Getting an adsense account approved seems to be very hard task in countries like India and China ( It's because Google has put policies that blogs should be atleast 6 months old ) but it is a bit more easier in other countries.Maintaining what you've got is always even more harder than you thought it really is..

So Keep This is your mind :-

NEVER CLICK ON YOUR ADS :- This is first thing that all the newbies to Google adsense do . If you've happened to read the Google adsense Policies the first thing it says is not to click on your own ads even for testing it ! MIND IT THIS MOST IMPORTANT THING NOT TO DO
NEVER ENCOURAGE READERS OR YOUR FRIENDS/RELATIVES TO CLICK ON YOUR ADS :- This is yet another thing that newbies find as a reason to get their Google adsense account Disapproved.You may think that google would not find it out but mind it Google is more wiser than you've always thought of . I've seen a blog that has got it's Google adsense disapproved . That blog had nearly 10 -12 visitors a minute but blog owner unknowingly asked his readers to check out his ads ! Thats all it gone He has lost his adsense ! Cruel Google !But he is managing now with the other adsenses like Infolinks
NEVER TRY TO FOOL THE SEARCH ENGINE SPIDERS - Never create Subdomains that have duplicate that would have duplicate contents of your own sites . Never dump your ads in a post without writing anything on it , Google seriously hates it .This'll drive your readers away . Don't loose your readers...
NEVER PLACE ADS ON SITES WITH INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT - If you've got some time to read the Terms of Service of the Google adsense you'll come to know that it says that google has approved only your site . It's because your contents are Good . It does not approve you ,it's your site that has got the approval so never ever try to place your ads on sites that contain Porn,Alcohol sales , Hacking ( Information ),Illegal drugs ,Tobacco sales information.
PLACING ADS - Google really need 100% consciously clicked visitors to it advertiser , So placing ads on any place on the page where you would accidentally click on it is banned Eg:- Below the menu bar , Under a picture , As pop up window , in Emails Etc:-
NEVER HACK OR CHANGE GOOGLE'S AD CODE(Which are not allowed by google) - The thing you've gotta know first is that it doesn't mean if you can easily access google at anytime it is a just a small blog/website . Keep in your mind that Google has the power to drag you out to the courts for your hacking antics . You might be a good hacker but you've always got better grounds to show your skills !
LABELLING ADS(with labels that are not allowed)- Google has specifically mentioned in it's TOS that you should not use any other label for it's ads other than " Sponsored links " or " Advertisements " . This is because your readers may get confused with google's ads with other's ads displayed in your website that may lead to
NEVER STEAL CONTENT FROM OTHER SITES (WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION)- Yes ! You can post information from the other websites but mind it you've gotta get their permissions first of all . This is what most blog owners forget to do and get banned
NEVER USE FAKE INFORMATION FOR YOUR GOOGLE ADSENSE ACCOUNT: - You might like to keep you identity a secret but not to Google, You've gotta be completely virgin to 'em that's what they expect . It's also because it might cause some I.R.S problems too .
NEVER PUT ADS ON THE REGISTRATION ,CONFIRMATION, THANKYOU PAGES:- Now first speak'n about your sites look . This puts you website to shame , Your site's beauty is spoiled if you do these . And dear Google doesn't want your sites reputation spoiled ! How swee Google is!

Naming scheme , it's with what Samsung has made it's phone reach the people this quick
. Ever wondered whats Samsung doing with naming it's phone with these Letters "W","S","R","M","Y" . Well ,you might have seen their new releases Galaxy S2 , Galaxy R , Galaxy Wave , Galaxy blah blah ........ All the phones having a "Galaxy" as their first name run "Android OS " ,Those with the "Wave" run on Samsung's Own "Bada OS" , Those with the "Omnia" on " Windows OS"

The pattern is very Simple as you can see in the Table given. "S" stands for "Super smart" this category has branched out a large share in the market world round with its Galaxy S and it successor Galaxy S2 They belong to the Top End Price category of the Price chart ." Ghostly costly devices "

The letter "R" stands for "Royal" ! This category bags Premium devices that have combined Power , Design , Productivity . They are the next down the Price chart . "Costly devices " they are but perfect Business phones.

"W" stands for Wonder ; Samsung wants us to wonder at its price too . High End price devices . They've got features similar to that of The "S" Devices. Then we come down to the letter " M " which mean Magical Mid price range Phones they've got power , capabilities at a price that can be affordable as the word "Mid - tire Indicates"

At the bottom of the Table is the Letter "Y" which stands for " Young " Which means that they are still at the entry level. These are phones that are really affordable . They bear low capabilities and price tags as well .

Further they introduced a group of phones with the "Pro" , "Plus" , "LTE". Pro phones will have a QWERTY keypad while "Plus" Indicates a Upgrade in the already existing mode of earlier version . "LTE" mean they are running light .

Android phones would run on Intel processors in 2012

Yes the most expected news is here ! In this year's CES Intel showed some of the prototypes of Android Phones fitted with a Intel chip( Intel atom processor - Single core ) on them working at Unimaginable speeds .

What you can see above is the prototype that Intel showed running on the Ginger bread OS specially designed to show off the speed of their processor . Live evidences say that Asphalt 6 a HD game that would have a little lag even on other Dual core processors runs with out any error or lag on the Intel Atom processors.

So more on to say , these processors are not only designed for a better gaming performance but also a good support for Hyper- threading .

They've also informed that despite its unimaginable speed it also greatly conserves the battery life of the phone and gifts an average phone with a 6hrs of continuous video playback .

The war between Android and iPhones is never ending ! This is what has been happening through the last two year . One puts a good model the other one puts a better model ! But Guys you can never compare an iPhone to the Androids . Actually to me the androids are far better than the iPhones !

ADVANTAGES OF THE iPHONES

These phones have an official market place for them but you would get most of it only after paying a lot to Apple. Moreover the number of Apps. on the market is very limited but you get millions of free apps on the android market for free ( Because it is Open sourced for development ). But who cares the Apps. for the iPhones are absolutely stunning which would make you say " I will pay them whatever they want for that App " . And they voice command feature recently added in the iPhone 4S ( Siri ) so that you can fairly call your phone your pocket assistant .

The iPhones usually have a longer battery than the other phones a scratch resistant glass with a 512 MB Ram Apple 5 Chipset and a good LED flash light.

DISADVANTAGES OF THE iPHONES

The first and the main disadvantage of the iPhones are their prices . How can expect a man to keep buying a never version of it ,if it too costly . What can you say?Apple is really dumb in pricing its phone mainly in India . With every little feature getting added to it you would have to pay thousands of extra bucks ! For example a costlier model with wifi or 3G or better memory

Doesn't support Expandible memory card support ( Worst disadvantages if iPhones )

But that wasn't the case before the release of Aakash tablet 'coz before Aakash's era 11,000 Rs used to be the minimal price of a good tablet PC in the market .

The release of Aakash V 2.0 and the yet to come Ubi slate ( Advanced version of Aakash 1- V2.0 ) has seen a large welcome among the people. All the tablet were booked on the first day the bookings was open for all these tablets.

So the local Indian mobile companies that normally used to have a steady raised hand on the local Indian market got huge blows. When questions were asked to them they have said that it is practically impossible for them to market tablets as low as 2500Rs and it wouldn't meet their Profit. But sadly for them the tablets by the govt. has already sold 14 lakhs units and it is still being ordered till now. These local companies say that they are now forced to put Tablet PCs at this price

And as per the data by the Computer Market Research (CMR) of India they've estimated that by the end of 2012 .85,000 Tablet PCs would have been sold in India. On the other hands the mobile market giants like Samsung, Sony ,LG and even Beetle are thinking over this issues and they are possibly 'bout to reduce their prices on Tablet PCs

There is rumour that Microsoft is gonna take over some of Nokia's units to surface the sales of Nokia's sales rate that has gone unstable and very low nowadays .

Nokia will now be considering to sell some of mobile units in future to Microsoft to stabilizing it sales to regain its to its old self !

After all the other big giants in the mobile market like Sony Ericsson,Samsung,htc have introduced smartphones with the latest android operating system like Android Gingerbread,Honeycomb,Icecream sandwhich Nokia's which was still hanging on to the from the past Symbian OS made its sales go down in just 3yrs .
